The Light of A Broken Destiny:
The Lights in The Skies

A loud, thunderous boom suddenly disturbed the clear, tranquil skies over the Boiling Isles. Witches and demons looked up at the skies, and some gasped at what they saw: a hole as black as the Titan's eyes had opened, the sky spiraling into it.

The denizens of the Demon Realm stared up at the hole, transfixed on this mysterious phenomenon. A twinkle of blue suddenly appeared in the center of the hole, joined soon by a gold twinkle.

The two twinkles flashed in a strange way for a few seconds, and then there was another thunderous boom as the two lights shot out of the hole.

Some watched as the now shooting stars fell to the right foot. They then looked back at the hole and saw it was already closed.

"Umm," a figure moaned, grabbing her head, "I hate traveling like this."

The figure in question sounded like a young woman, but because of her full-body cloak, none of her features could be seen.

"And I hate having you landing on me every single time we hit a new reality," A male voice growled. "NOW GET OFF OF ME!"

The female gasped and looked down. Under her was another cloaked figure, and though his face was mostly hidden, the female could tell she was being glared at.

"I'm so sorry, Sensei!" the girl apologized, jumping to her feet and bowing deeply. "But you know we don't have control over that!"

Sensei got to his feet, stretched his back, and glared at his student. The female continued to bow as the unseen eyes of her teacher bore into her.

Sensei sighed after a moment and looked around. He frowned as he studied his surroundings.

"Looks like we landed in another Boiling Isles," Sensei commented. "But something about this one doesn't feel right."

The female frowned and looked around herself. She could see no sign of life; not even an animal was scurrying around.

"I don't see it, Sensei," the girl said skeptically.

The mysterious male sighed faintly and looked at his student. The girl couldn't help but flinch slightly from the look she thought she was getting.

"It's not about sight, Akari," Sensei said calmly, "Something about this place just feels off. Plus-"

Sensei looked at the sky, and Akari followed.

"The portal to this reality opened high in the sky," the mysterious male explained. "That only happens when things in a reality are weird."

Sensei looked down at the ground and kicked a rock, and Akari looked at her teacher.

"But, it's not just not the strangeness of the portal," Sensei furthered explained. "The air feels stale, almost like the entire Boiling Isles is being strangled."

Akari looked around again, frowning. She still didn't see what her teacher saw.

The mysterious woman suddenly heard a scream and snapped her head to the right.

"That voice!" Akari said worryingly and took off running.

"Akari, wait!" Sensei called after his student and then growled. "Oh, by the sacred flames! Why does she always do this!"

Willow Park screamed as a bolt of magic struck her right arm, searing the flesh on her bicep. She grasped her arm as she felt her limp go numb. She looked behind her and growled when she saw Coven scouts but with lilac capes and masks shaped like Abominations' faces, closing in on her.

"In the name of the Empress!" One scout shouted, making a spell circle, "We order you to stop!"

Willow scoffed at this and made a spell circle of her own. She then disappeared in a puff of blue smoke. This didn't deter the scouts, and the one with the spell circle at the ready aimed it.

A pulse of magic surged from the circle and bathed the area in a blue glow. Willow reappeared a second later, facing the scout with a spell circle at the ready. Before the young plant witch could unleash her spell, one of the scouts was on her in an instant and punched her in the gut.

Will groaned as she fell to her knee, holding her gut as she tried to shake off the pain. She glared up at the scouts loomed menacingly over her.

"Willow Park," one scout said commandingly, "Public enemy number 7! As ordered by the Empress of the Boiling Isles, you are to be sent to the Factory and have your magic permanently- GAH!"

The scout talking was suddenly covered by a cloak and dragged to the ground. The other scout didn't look at his partner and dodged an uppercut aimed at his chin. The scout jumped over the mysterious figure, dashed a few feet away, and glanced at the person.

Willow blinked as she studied the new person. She was a human girl, about eighteen years old, with white skin, blue eyes, and light tan hair. The girl's hair was long but tied into a ponytail with two long bangs hanging in front of her face.

Strangely, the ends of the bangs were dyed a light brown.

The girl's outfit was simple; she wore gray track pants, high tops, and a sleeveless blue top with a cat on the front. Both of the human's arms were bandaged up to the elbows, and she had a sword strapped to her back.

The girl got in between Willow and the scout, taking her sword out. She held it out in front as the scout at her feet managed to get the cloak off of him and scrambled to his feet. He joined his partner, and the two scouts got ready for a fight.

"I don't know who you are," One scout said, "But if you interfered with this arrest, know that Empress Odalia will show no mercy."

"Wait…" Akari squeaked, "EMPRESS ODALIA?!"
