·What If the Dragon Balls and Chaos Emeralds swapped places

A little what-if I wrote while feeling bored, of course not finished, if people are interested maybe I will continue the story, since there might be no continuation so I will just upload what I wrote until now. Using both DBZ/S(after DBS Broly but before super hero movie) settings and Video Game Sonic(until 06 and includes Sonic X and maybe small portion of Frontier if I wanted to write more), no Archie or GT. And of course, there are more settings only belongs to me, however nothing too out of the place.

Synopsis:

Dragon Ball Dimension

While getting up early in the morning, Bulma walked into the laboratory. After a few minutes of silence, a high-pitched scream suddenly broke out from room.

Sonic Dimension

After pulling another all-nighter, Tails rubbed his head and got up from the floor, the first thing caught his eye was a strangely shaped orange ball he had never seen before. There were three small stars floating inside, the chaos emeralds he kept as the power source for Tornado was gone for some reason.

1. Dragon Ball Dimension

"Huh?! Where are my Dragon Balls!?" Bulma was stunned for a second, blinking her eyes desperately, trying hard to make sense of the seven colourful gems in front of her. Until the door behind her was forced open, Vegeta and Trunks appeared outside anxiously.

"What's wrong? What happened? Mom!" Trunks rushed forward. Behind him was his father Vegeta, who was secretly relieved to see his wife was safe, but soon got grumpy again like always.

"Woman! What are you yelling about this early in the morning?!"

"Vegeta! Trunks! Look, the Dragon Balls we collected are gone again, and replaced by these gems! Someone must sneaked into the lab without noticing!" Bulma quickly grabbed the fist-size blue gem and shoved it to her husband's face without saying more. However, it didn't wait too long for her eyes glued to the pretty gemstone, then muttered to herself: "But...but if I take a second look, these gems are really beautiful...look how shinning they are..."

So, before Vegeta checked the pretty crystal himself, the blue-haired woman retracted her hand and stared at the sapphire(blue chaos emerald) carefully. After a while, she turned around and began to search on the table, adding more murmuring: "My magnifying glass and portable diamond tester pen...Also the phone number...Where is the phone number of my personal gemologist?"

"Uh...Mom?" Seeing his mother lost in her little world again, Trunks asked. Though it turns out the same since Bulma waved her hand without turning back and gave him a 'mission'.

"Trunks, go check the surveillance footage from last night and see who came in swapped my Dragon Balls. I need to examine these gemstones a little longer."

"Eh?...Oh, okay." Trunks, who understood his mother's personality well, nodded obediently, turned around and rushed to the study. Leaving Vegeta, who was oddly quiet, frowning and staring at the other six stones spread out on Bulma's desk. Not a second later, he walked forward and reached out to pick up the green one.

"Vegeta? You are still there?" Bulma used a tester pen to check the hardness and was satisfied to find out they were indeed real, not fakes made of glass. As the woman heard the footsteps behind her, she caught a glimpse of her husband coming to her side.

Normally, whenever she said something like that, she would got a cold stare or sneer from Vegeta. Though this time was different. The Saiyan prince only silently grasped the green gem, with the only problem being the power he put in was so great that his hand is shaking like a vibration.

"Wait!? Vegeta! Why are you using so much force? What if you break them!?" Since the value of these stones has been somehow confirmed, even though Bulma is the richest woman on earth, the attraction towards beautiful jewelry still makes her unable to watch Vegeta turning these priceless gemstones into a pile of debris.

"Shut up! Just watch." No one knows what was wrong with Vegeta, he just squeezed the emerald harder and harder, despite his wife's objection. Not only that, he also transformed. In front of a very confused Bulma, Vegeta gradually changed from his normal state to a Super Saiyan, then to a Super Saiyan 2, complete with electrical sparks and all. Watching that fist of him was getting tighter and tighter, Bulma, who couldn't get too close, shouting loud while the whole laboratory getting messed up seconds by seconds.

"Vegeta!? What!? Are you crazy or something?!"

It was the same time she finished the sentence, Vegeta suddenly ended his Super Saiyan 2 form and back to a Super Saiyan. The documents and chairs were blown away by the wind fell down instantly, the entire laboratory looked like a crime scene after hurricane.

Before Bulma opened her mouth again, Vegeta slowly relaxed his fist.

The expected scene did not happened, the green gem lay in Vegeta's hand still intact, shining even brighter than before. For a moment, Bulma thought it was reflecting the golden aura coming from his husband, but after a closer look, the woman was shocked to find out this was not the case.

It's the gemstone itself burst into dazzling light.

No, not only the green one, the other six rest on table also shined brightly, resonating with each other.

2. Sonic Dimension

"Okay, so let me get it straight." Inside Tails's garage, Sonic, while holding another round object similar to the one Tails possessed, throw a confused glance at his fox buddy.

However, unlike the one in Tails's hand, Sonic's orange sphere thingy had four stars floating in the center: "After staying up all night, you found out the Chaos Emerald you kept for Tornado was replaced with this three star...amber? Three-Star Ball? Well, whatever."

Holding his own Four-Star Ball, Sonic's hand suddenly reaching to Tails's. The two orange orbs lit up slightly as if they could sense each other. Thus he summarized the whole situation: "Like I thought, this thing works kinda like Chaos Emeralds. When they are close to each other, they will resonate with each other. The only difference is that individually didn't possess power like Chaos Emeralds."

"Well, I believe your theory is correct, Sonic. And judging by the stars floating inside, there are at least 4...no, maybe even more of them." Tails nodded, turned his head and stared at his three-star ball, then hesitantly added more. "Maybe...it's just my intuition, I believe there may be at most 7 of these balls. "

"Same number as the Chaos Emeralds were, huh?...Well, we don't really know what happened yesterday, but we'll figure it out, right? Buddy?" Sonic smirked and patted Tails' shoulder, who was still in thoughts. "Since we have two at hands now, maybe you could build a detector of sorts? Just like what you did with the Chaos Emeralds."

Though he sounded like asking a question, his tone was filled with absolute confidence. Confident about his genius friend could pull this off.

Tails felt encouraged, thus he agreed almost reflexively.

"Of course! You can always count on me! Sonic!"

1. Dragon Ball Dimension

Capsule Corp's Power Supply Room

"Am I seeing things? These gems can actually provide power for the entire building, and it looks like there's still plenty more to spare. Incredible, where do they come from?" Bulma stared at the whole scene in disbelief. Next to her, Vegeta continued to hold the big green jewelry without uttering a word.

In fact, compared to his wife, his mind was even more on a full throttle right now. Because since the moment he touched the gemstone, it has been continuously sending waves of powerful "ki" to him. It is inexhaustible, just like a spring will never dry up.

Not only that, previous test also showed that they were not just some ordinary shinny stones that occasionally found in mines or whatever those earthlings called. Even the power of Super Saiyan 2 couldn't shatter these gems. Though Vegeta was sure if he transformed into Super Saiyan God or blue form, they would probably be broken. But despite all that, he was convinced that these rocks(?) were nothing but normal. There must be something fishy about them. Especially after Bulma found out they suddenly showed up with Dragon Balls disappeared like a magic show.

That's right. Trunks, who watched the laboratory's surveillance from yesterday, ran to tell them this shocking news. Apparently, no one showed up in the video footage, and no one tried to steal the Dragon Balls since yesterday. Right in front of cameras, the seven Dragon Balls faded into thin air, then they were replaced by seven gemstones.

Not only Bulma, Vegeta also found it extremely unsettling and bizarre.

For example, Frieza used to send soldiers with low power level to steal the Dragon Balls in order to avoid being detected by Vegeta's keen sense. He did the same thing when they encountered Broly. But the problem is how did those weaklings manage to replaced the Dragon Balls without him or Trunks noticing? And if it's Frieza's men again, there was no need to leave same amount of gems behind, not to mention where did they even found these.

It makes absolutely no sense no matter how he looked at it.

"I have an idea, why don't we go ask Lord Beerus and Whis? As the God of Destruction and Angel, they must know something." Bulma suggested. She immediately removed the sapphire(?) embedded in the circuit breaker and put it back in pocket, then she stormed out of the room.

Staring at his wife's back, Vegeta squeezed the green gem again before following her steps.

When the two returned to laboratory, a familiar figure suddenly appeared with a soft "whoosh" sound.

"Hey, Vegeta. What happened? I sensed your ki rising, thought you were fighting someone."

The man with his black hair poking to all the directions showed up like it's his house, 'Great, now he's here.' Vegeta grumbled.

"Nothing, Kakarot. How many times I have tell you to stop teleport to my house without permission!"

On the other hand, Bulma didn't seem to mind too much about their usual quarrel, she only greeted her best friend excitedly: " Son-kun, you're just in time. See if you can contact Whis. I can do it myself but it's not guaranteed Whis will answer my call."

"Huh? Whis? Sure, let me see." Although still confused, Goku nodded without further questioning. As he put his two fingers on forehead, Goku started to search the ki of certain angel of Universe 7. "Ah, I got it. Whis, Lord Beerus, can you hear me?"

Watching Goku nodded to air for a while, then he turned to Bulma.

"Beerus-sama asked what's the matter, Bulma."

"This!" The blue-haired scientist stepped forward and shoved the sapphire(?) to Goku's face, still suspiciously agitated. "About this, I wanted to ask Whis if he knows anything?"

"Eh? Isn't it just a normal diamond? Only bigger." Goku tilted his head while Vegeta answered, surprisingly patient.

"Kakarot, these are not ordinary diamonds. Didn't you ask me why I transformed just now? I transformed to crush these—but failed, despite in the Super Saiyan 2 state."

"HUH !? Seriously!?"

"Of course, not only that. I believe I might need Super Saiyan God to destroy this shinny rock. Their hardness are extraordinary, way harder than regular jewelries that woman liked."

Staring at the sapphire(?) in astonishment, Goku took the gemstone from Bulma, squeezed it subconsciously, then immediately felt something.

"Wait?! What's this?"

As a martial artist who's very sensitive to ki, Goku couldn't miss that chaotic energy not this world emitting from the blue crystal.

At the same time, watching everything unfold from his stuff, Whis's curiosity was piqued.

"Oh? Interesting, why don't we go and take a look? Lord Beerus."

"Tsk, whatever. We're bored anyway. But! Since you guys came to us for help, you better show some respect by preparing offerings..." This time, a different voice interrupted the conversation. It belongs to the God of Destruction of Universe 7—Beerus.

"Yes, of course! I will prepare a lavish meal for the both of you, just come!" Bulma promised like the richest woman on earth. But just as she was about to take the blue gem back, she saw Goku was staring at hand with no intention of returning it. She sighed, figured that she still had 5 more, so it didn't matter. Left her messy laboratory behind, Bulma asked the chef to start preparing the meal Beerus wanted.

2. Sonic Dimension

After several hours of work, a new detector was finally completed. Tails carefully pressed the power button and was satisfied with two flashing dots appear on the square screen.

"Alright! I'm done!" The two-tailed fox cheered before showing the detector to Sonic, who was leaning on the wall with his eyes closed.

"Amazing! You are indeed a genius." Patting his best friend on the shoulder in appreciation, Sonic's eyes snapped open. Then he pressed the red button in the center: "Let me see...except the two on our hands, there are definitely more...one, two, three, four...five...It's confirmed, totally seven of these orange balls."

Glancing at all scattered dots displayed on screen, the blue hedgehog snapped his fingers like made a decision.

"Let's go."

"We are leaving now?" Tails stunned before asking.

"Yeah, let's go collect all of them, buddy. I wonder how they works. Besides, aren't you curious about what these balls can do?"

"Of course I am." Tails's gaze was fixed on the three-star ball, and he nodded in agreement. "Just wait a few moment, I have to install the replacement engine for Tornado, then we can leave."

"Okay, but hurry up, Tails. You know I'm not the patient type." Sonic responded with a bright smile. As he stuffed four-star ball under the seat of Tornado, the blue hedgehog jumped in the airplane.

1. Dragon Ball Dimension

"Oh, my. This is really interesting." Whis carefully checked the amethyst (purple Chaos Emerald) handed to him by Bulma between his thumb and index finger. The problem is, the angel of Universe 7 had been standing there showering the mysterious gemstone with compliments for a while now, still no useful information about them.

Next to him stands Beerus, who looked tired like always, was slowly scooping a spoonful of ice-cream into his mouth. While enjoying himself, he did not forget to frequently glance at Whis's direction, clearly interested with his assessment. Finally, with all his patience wore off, Beerus couldn't wait anymore, "Whis, stop your 'OHing and AHing!', just give us a straight answer, WOULD you!"

"Well...About that..." Whis looked amused, but when everybody opened eyes and leaned closer, he suddenly dropped the answer no one expected. " I have no idea what these things are, Lord Beerus."

"Puumph!?" Reflexively squirted the cream out, Beerus jumped up from the recliner. Behind him were Goku and Bulma's unison of "HUH!?", with Vegeta's shocking face as decoration.

"Then why are you looking at it for so long...If you don't know, just say so!...Hold on, are you telling me there is something even you don't know about? Let me take a look!"

As he said, the God of Destruction snatched the purple gemstone from Whis and examined it himself. However, he also found nothing useful. Thus, in pure frustration, Beerus also clenched his fist tightly, trying to crush the purple stone.

"Wait, wait!?" Watching the ground began to shake, again, Bulma quickly sent the interns and servants away, then she hid behind Vegeta for protection.

For a mere second, the sky turned dark, sands were flying, and whirlwind form around Beerus's body. Goku and Vegeta, who were already nervous, opened shields to protect others. Whis, who was stood by side-line, quietly observing the scene.

"No no no no no no!? Lord Beerus!" Before everything got ugly, Bulma suddenly had the courage to intervene. She left Vegeta's ki-barrier before he could stop her and rushed to rescue the gem. "What if it's broken? We haven't figured out how and who swapped them with the Dragon Balls!"

"Don't you have 6 more?" Noticing he was taking this way too serious, Beerus returned a unpleasant growl. "Just let me destroy (Hakai) one to see what they are made of."

"That's not the problem! After all, we don't know what will happen if one is broken. Not to mention now even you have to admit how special they are." Carefully picked up the still shinning and beautiful purple gem and gently blew the dust away, Bulma put the stone back on the red velvet cushion like a real treasure.

Somehow...more careful than the dragon balls.

Then she turned around and stretched out her arms to Vegeta and Goku who were still standing there in a daze: " Son-kun, Vegeta. Give me back those two as well. "

"Huh...? Oh, okay." Not sure if it was just Bulma's imagination, but Son Goku—a man had never been interested in expensive jewelries, appeared to be hesitating. In the end it turns out his reluctance was short-lived, Goku quickly returned to his normal self and handed the blue gem to Bulma.

Noticing his wife's widen eyes, Vegeta explained as he put the green one back.

"People who don't know how to sense ki won't understand this, but the energy emanating from these rocks are very unique."

"Yeah, it's hard to describe...but..." Goku agreed, rubbing the back of his head. "It feels...kinda...nice? Completely different from the ki I'm familiar with, that's a little bit weird."

"Exactly." Whis, who had been observing until now, finally broke the awkwardness. He raised his stuff. "I don't know where these colourful gems came from because I have checked every corner of Universe 7 and couldn't find any trace of clue. So what I'm gonna say next are purely speculations."

He paused, oddly serious.

"These gemstones contained energy similar to ki but with something extra come in package. So I won't say they are completely different, Goku-san. Also, since I failed to recognize their origin, they ARE definitely not from this world, or I should say—not from this universe. For example, it's like the relationship between Universe 6 and 7, similar yet different. So I personally believe it is necessary to contact Lord Champa and my sister. Maybe they will know something."

"Wait!? Are you saying these gems might be coming from Universe 6?" Bulma couldn't believe her ears: "What about the Dragon Balls? Could they also been sent to Universe 6!? "

"I didn't say they are from Universe 6, but their presence..." With his eyes reflecting the seven colours of these mystery stones, the corners of Whis's mouth slightly curled up. "Just imagine, Bulma-san, by the time you lost 7 earth dragon balls, they were replaced by, also, 7 coloured gemstones with inexplicable power. It couldn't be a mere coincident." As if lost in thoughts, the angel's eyes switch to Goku's blank expression. "Goku-san, let's do a little experiment, can you assist me?"

"Eh? Me?" Goku pointed at himself with his index finger, proceed to nod after taking a long pause. "Okay, but what I suppose to do?"

"It's a simple task. Please come here. Right, perfect. You don't need to do anything, just stand there, don't move. Bulma-san, I will borrow them for the time being."

After giving Goku order, Whis held his stuff little higher by gently pointed its tip to the rainbow coloured stones resting on table. In a blink of eyes, 7 shinning gems slowly floated up, then rushed towards Goku, who was still waiting for Whis's next order.

Together with a "ding-a-ling~" tinkle sound, the bottom of stuff hit the ground. Colourful lights surrounded Goku while gemstones started to spin, their speed was getting faster and faster until forming a halo like light circle around the Saiyan.

This is when Goku noticed something is definitely wrong here, however, despite not knowing what's the problem, he felt his mind are getting more and more calm. Then, a trace of ki leaked out from his body reflected a silvery hue. At first it was hard to tell, but soon became more and more apparent with naked eyes. Not before long, all his aura turned to a familiar bright silver colouration. Dumbfounded by this sudden change, Goku heard Whis whispering.

"Goku-san, try to relax a bit more."

Following Whis's suggestion, Goku loosen his muscles while the halo gradually shrinking in size until it completely disappeared. No, more like they were absorbed into Goku's body.

Just like that, showered with attention from everyone in capsule corp, that distinctively blue-silver fire like aura was the biggest surprise to the people attended the Tournament of Power. On the other end, Goku observed his hand and body in astonishment before quickly dodged the attack from Whis like a muscle reflex.

However, without a second of thoughts, the U7 angel's next batch of pursues had already arrived. But just like they witnessed in the tournament, all attacks were missed by a hair.

"Huh!? Whis! Isn't this...?" Beerus let out a low groan.

"This is that Ultra Instinct technique Kakarot displayed in the Tournament of Power, right? But how? He wasn't in any emergency that needed to break through limits, so how did Kakarot suddenly re-activate this form?!" Vegeta demanded answer, he's not amused by this. "And where are those rocks!?"

"To be specific, this technique was called Ultra Instinct -Sign-." Whis turned to look at Goku after correcting Vegeta. "As for where the gems went, it's pretty obvious they were absorbed into Goku-san's body." He paused, then waved to the other Saiyan. "If you wish to drop the form just think 'release' or 'stop' would be fine. Probably."

"...I see." Goku's tone was calm and peaceful with a low echo, as he slowly closed eyes, that silver fiery energy dissipated in an instant. Right after a fainted "whoosh", the missing 7 gemstones he absorbed into body resurfaced. For a short while, they were still spinning until completely stopped before fell to the ground. Their bright shine also dimmed as everything back to normal.

"This...what on earth is this!?" Bulma yelled in disbelief, watching her husband silently rushed forward to pick up the gems.

"To put it simply, these gems have the power to draw out the ki and true potential of the wielder." Whis smiled. "Not only that, they also allow the wielder to enter their strongest form can be achieved for the present, without any energy-drain that is. Because these gemstones can provide the wielder all the energy they want, so Goku-san probably can hold that transformation (U.I. -Sign-) as long as he preferred. On the other hand, since Goku-san has no where near to fully mastered Ultra Instinct, thus even the 7 gems couldn't help him transform to Autonomous Ultra Instinct. Oh, despite me saying that, I'm actually impressed. Goku-san, you are just three or even two steps away from mastering the Ultra Instinct technique, and you are very close to achieve UI -Sign- by will. All you need now is the right opportunity. Hehe, I knew I wasn't wrong about you have potential."

"Heh…That being said, I don't really want to borrow outside help to get Ultra Instinct -Sign-..." Son Goku's whispered tone filled with sour taste. Turning around, he saw Vegeta carefully putting away the 7 gems. "Wait, Vegeta. Are you going to borrow powers from these things?"

"Idiot! That's not the problem here!" The prince annoyed by his fellow Saiyan's stupidity. "I'm not thinking about myself, but if Frieza knew about these dangerous rocks, he would definitely try to use it to cause us trouble! They might be even more troublesome than Dragon Balls. At least Dragon Balls need all 7 to make a wish."

Muttering to himself, Vegeta suddenly shouted at Bulma.

"Woman! We really need to raise the security level of this house...No, it's best they never leave my sight...Bulma! Give me one of your capsules."

Unlike Goku, blue-haired woman understood the situation and agreed with her husband whole-heart. But before she could go get the capsule, Beerus spoke up.

"In that case, why not give them to me and Whis for safekeeping. Weren't we just talking about ask Champa where are these mysterious rocks coming from?"

"Huh? Is it okay?"

"Normally, I could care less about your people's problem. But now I'm invested." As if to make the final decision, Beerus took a few steps forward and grabbed all the gemstones. Then he threw them to Whis and Whis stored into his stuff.

This is when Vegeta finally breathed a sigh of relief.

2. Sonic Dimension

"Tails!? Did you find it?"

On the cliff edge, Sonic shouted at his best friend.

5 minutes later, he finally got a response.

"—Yeah , I got it! Sonic!...There are 6 stars in it, so it must be a six-star ball!" Along with Tails's cheerful voice, an orange figure raised to the top. After a safe landing, he handed another orange orb to Sonic.

After putting the six-star ball away, Tails pulled out the detector. He confirmed that the last ball was nearby, then pointed in the right direction.

"Sonic, according to my detector, the last one is less than 3 kilometres away from here...Huh? Wait! It's approaching us!?" Tails panicked when he found that white dot was rushing towards their direction at an alarming speed.

"Buddy, no need to worry. It appears to be an 'old friend' of ours just coming through." Sonic answered calmly while standing on the left wing of Tornado.

"Old friend?"

"Yep. Leave it me." After comforting Tails, Sonic jumped off from the plane before spoke to the approaching dark figure.

"Shadow, what are you doing in a place like this?"

Seeing these two, Shadow stopped the jets on air shoes so his speed would gradually slowed down, until completely stopped.

Then the black hedgehog fold his arms, the expression on his face was as indifferent as ever."I could ask you the same thing, Sonic."

"...Sonic, look." As soon as the conversation started, Tails noticed that orange/yellow spherical object in Shadow's right palm. It should be the last piece of puzzle they were searching for. The little fox carefully nudged his hedgehog friend, signalling him to look. Sonic returned a nod, then proceed to ask his fellow hedgehog.

"So you have the last Chaos Emerald, but now..."

"…you are talking about this." Shadow glanced at the orb sits on his palm. His expression remained unchanged, but a trace of curiosity lingered in his voice. "So you two encountered the same problem."

"Well, I guess so. When I woke up this morning, my blue Chaos Emerald also turned into a orb with stars inside, so I wanted to know what happened." Sonic answered honestly.

"So? What did you guys find?"

"Unfortunately, nothing came out yet. That's why I want to collect all the balls first. And according to that new detector Tails built, the one in your hand is the last one."

"…"

"…"

Sonic and Shadow stared at each other for a while, then the former one broke the silence.

"Hey, Shadow, can I borrow your one-star ball? "

"One star ball? That's the name?" Without reacting to Sonic's request, Shadow examined the orange orb again.

"Not their official names, I just named them by the number of stars. So, can I borrow the one you hold?"

"… Hmph, sure." Just when Sonic thought Shadow might refuse, he only shrugged before threw the ball to Sonic. Caught it carefully, Sonic was surprised at first, but grinned right after.

"Huh, you are pretty nice to me recently. Thought you'd say no."

"Whatever." Hearing the praise from his former enemy, Shadow didn't seem to care about what Sonic think of him."I'm leaving now. When you find the whereabout the Chaos Emeralds, remember to give back the one you borrowed from me."

"Okay, okay, what's your emerald's colour? And I thought you don't needed the help of Chaos Emeralds?" Sonic smirked mischievously.

"The green one." Shadow was not impressed by his provoke, but unlike old days, he stopped seeing Sonic as enemy or faker anymore. Though the blue hedgehog still annoys him time to time, Shadow learned to understand his newfound rival was nothing to underestimated, on the contrary, he is rather a worthy opponent, not that Shadow would admit in front of the guy though. He has his pride after all. Thus, this also improves Shadow's tolerance towards Sonic. "I don't need it, but you 'borrowed' from me, so of course have to give it back."

"Fine, then I'll use chaos control to find you." Sonic shrugged while watching Shadow's back gradually disappear at the other side of the desert, then he turned around to face Tails, amused by that short encounter. "Ha...As friendly as ever, nothing surprise here I guess. This is Shadow we are talking about."

"Emmm, even so, Shadow has changed a lot. He is a completely different person now, especially if we compare to the first time you guys met, or when Black Doom's army invaded the earth." Until Shadow took his leave, Tails can finally loosen up. Although he knew that black hedgehog was not a bad guy per-say, Tails couldn't help felt nervous whenever he's around. This is because Shadow's presence had always been deemed too oppressive to the young fox. It's not like Tails was afraid of him, but if he was ordered to talk to Shadow for a friendly conversation, the poor fox would be broke into a heavy sweat. Because only Sonic could withstand those death glares of his. But that's Sonic...who fought and competed with Shadow on several occasions and gained his approval and acknowledgment.

Tails shook his head, trying best to focus.

With Shadow gone, now the real problem arise.

"…Good we found all of them, but what else? Do you have any ideas? Sonic." Put the one-star ball on ground with the other 6, Sonic and Tails exchanged glances, for the next 5 minutes, no one moved a muscle.

They were not wrong about one thing, these seven orbs had some special power when gathered together. They are resonating with each other, emitted a faint light like pulsations, one after another. Very steady.

It almost like...something was missing here.

After a long observation period, still nothing happened. Sonic and Tails were at loss, not sure what to do next. Reaching out to the Four-Star ball, this is the one replaced his blue Chaos Emerald.

Sonic suggested.

"Tails, let's go to Angel Island. Since these balls appeared instead of Chaos Emeralds, I believe Knuckles might have some clue. Also, I want to check on the Master Emerald."

"Oh! That's right! Why didn't I thought about this!" Tails cheered while jumped up to collected the 6 orbs on ground. Along with the Four-Star ball in Sonic hand, the two sat back to Tornado and start the engine.

After another few hours of flying, at long last, they saw that huge silhouette of floating island.

1.5 Dragon Ball Dimension

God of Destruction's planet

Goku and Vegeta were fighting again, but it's obvious none of them were focusing on the sparing match with both pair of eyes glued to the place where Beerus and Champa stood. In fact, right after the chaos at noon, the two followed the Universe 7 God of Destruction and his Angel back to the castle.

On one side, Goku wanted to find that 'opportunity' Whis mentioned, without any external help; the other side, Vegeta did not want to increase the gap between his rival and himself, plus, he wanted to figure out the next step of evolution that only suited for him.

But no matter what the plan was, their curiosity about those 7-coloured gemstones completely overshadowed the desire to get stronger.

At least, for now.

"How many times do you want me to say, Beerus? I know nothing about these shinny rocks! We don't have anything like that in Universe 6. They are not mine!" Gawking at the colourful gems presented by Whis, sensing the chaotic energy emanating from them, Champa's voice was filled with irritation.

To tell the truth, the G.O.D of U6 was actually jealous of his brother. 'How come he can always find strange new toys from random corners!? This is so·un·fair! Where is the justice when I need it!? Do I have to ask Belmod's permission for this!?'

Especially the Earth, what a treasure planet. Not only it provided two strong fighters (the rest were not bad either, but these two were exceptionally good, especially the one named Son Goku), but also countless delicious food and drinks. And NOW with seven powerful crystals with endless energy supply!? What Is This Bullshit!?

At first, Champa thought he could lie about their ownership and secure them before handed to his universe's Saiyan in order for them to grow strong. But just before he tries that Beerus already saw through his little scheme and took the gems back.

Since taking advantage didn't work, Champa decided to drop the act. If he can't get anything from this, what's the point keep pretending nice? As result, his sight lingered on those gems for another 10 seconds before completely giving up.

Champa had already asked his attendant Angel—Vados to search all the planets in his universe, but couldn't find any clue related to these colourful crystals.

"This is problematic." Witnessing Vados spreading her arms to show resignation, Whis sighed. "If they are not from Universe 6, our twin universe, then where did they coming from? Are my speculations wrong?"

"By the way, Whis, why do you think they belongs to us?" Vados turned to her brother, curious about his reasoning.

"According to Bulma-san's surveillance camera, these gems appeared out of thin air. I took a look and found out the most incredible thing is 'how' they appeared. From my perspective, it looks like a spatial displacement. And the target of this spatial displacement were seven dragon balls Bulma-san collected. So I believe there is a certain connection or even substitution relationship between these seven objects, and that chaotic energy within the item are the best proof. Sis."

"I see." Vados nodded at her brother's analysis. "Indeed, this kind of substitution is a particular attribute only exists in twin universes. But I believe you overlooked one important factor, Whis."

"Very well. Maybe you can enlighten me a bit? I'm all ears." Whis was intrigued.

"There are 12 universes ruled by all mighty Zeno-sama, all come in pairs with the total number being 13. So for example, Universe 6 and 7, 1 and 12, 2 and 11, etc. But you might forgot one very important history—it's not always been like that..." In front of Vados, Whis starting to recall some key information, but Vados didn't wait for her brother and speak for him. "As a matter of fact, in the distant past...Zeno-sama ruled 18 universes, not 12. But one day he erased 6 of them, creating the situation we have right now. Thus once upon a time, the universes were not in pairs, but ratherthreeas a group; it's not about twin universes but a triplets. There's one distant relative of the Universe 7 in ancient times—the Universe 8 we never encountered, also the former Universe no.9."

As soon as that sudden realization emerged on Whis's face, Beerus interrupt them.

"What's the meaning of this!? There is another universe similar to us? Why is this the first time I hear about it!"

"Ah, that's right, Lord Beerus." Whis patiently answered his question. "You knew Zeno-sama wiped out six universes long time ago, right? In fact, one of the universes he erased from existence was the former Universe 8, thus the Universe 9(at the time)'s number was changed to 8 and became the U8 we knew by now. In the beginning, the concept of total number 13 also never existed before the annihilation of the lost 6, so Zeno-sama divided the 18 universes into 6 groups, universes with closer number were grouped together. U1 through U3, U4 through U6, Universe 7,8 and 9 were in the same group as well, so on. It was after the 6 universes' deletion, Zeno-sama decided that there was no need for groups of three, but instead two as a pair, resulting the establishment of Twin-Universe system. So, the formerly Universe 9 became Universe 8 and because of this new grouping, we were gradually drifted apart until completely falling off, like a brother cutting ties with his family. On the other hand, the Universe 6 and Universe 7 developed a symmetric relationship, this is also the same time-period Lord Beerus and Lord Champa became the god of destruction of your respected universe...so I'm not surprised today is the first time you heard about this. If these powerful gems belong to the Universe 8, it actually made sense. I thought when U7 and U8 drifted apart our similarities would also diminished through time, but maybe I was wrong, maybe there were still a lot more about our long lost sibling universe."

"Gah...Universe Eight...are you kidding me?" Recalling the faces in Tournament of Power's spectator stands, Beerus groaned deep inside. There are four universes were exempted from entering the tournament because their average score of mortals level reached 7, and begrudginglyUniverse 8 was one of them. So of course Beerus despised those with a higher scores than him. But now he has to deal with these condescending suckers? To say Beerus's not impressed was an understatement.

"Seriously? They are actually from Universe 8!?...so, Liquiir's domain? " Taking another sneak peek at the 7 stones, Champa wasn't sure whether to envy or laugh at his brother. Although they were left as replacement for the Dragon Balls, compared to them, earth dragon balls' wish granting ability had strict limitations. On the other hand, these powerful gems were no joke. According to Whis, they even allowed Son Goku reached Ultra Instinct -Sign- without breaking a sweat. This is because their power was connected to wielder's strength. If the wielder was weak or lack of any potential, they could only served as energy source like a fancy battery pack. But if the wielder was strong, they were able pull off all the bulls people could imagine. As result, by any chance Beerus decided to keep them, he could be benefit from their power A LOT.

However, there is one problem Universe 7 must face head on. If Liquiir already knew about these gemstones and understood the value they possessed, he would definitely search for their whereabouts. It wouldn't be easy to get away with it if he found out Beerus was the one having them now. The best case scenario would be Liquiir has no idea such things ever existed in his universe so Beerus got to keep them like no one noticed.

Though Champa would be pissed if that actually happened.

On the other hand, Beerus rolled his eyes, fully aware of the burning gaze from his twin brother. He was sure if he decided to keep the gems, Champa would immediately went to his snitch mode and told Liquiir everything. To be honest, neither Goku nor Vegeta cared too much about these stones' power, the latter one even deemed them too dangerous to keep around. So naturally he only had one option, which was to return these shinny rocks to their original owner.

The thing is...Beerus really didn't want to deal with the people from Universe 8, or any other universes didn't participated the Tournament of Power. They'd probably laugh at him because of that 'high mortal level' they are so proud of. Beerus was confident about how he would act if anything like that happened.

"So what are you going to do, Lord Beerus?" Whis's still calm voice came from the left side. The God of Destruction of Universe 7 sighed when his name was called, then he annoyingly waved his hand.

"Go contact Liquiir's attendant, just inform them we need to talk."

"As you wish, my lord." The white-haired angel smiled and bowed, with Champa gloating in the back.

2. Sonic Dimension

Universe 8, the Diligent Universe

·Earth, over Pacific Ocean

Angel Island

"Oh, It's just you two. What brings you here?" As usual, on top of altar there sits Knuckles, he was gazing at the Master Emerald until two uninvited guests with their airplane landed on a nearby ground. "What happened? "

"Hmm...well, there IS something we might need your help." Sonic jumped down from his seat and greeted the red echidna cheerfully. "Long time no see, knuckle head, you must be so bored. Staring at a giant jewelry all day to night in a place like this, even though this is one beautiful looking giant jewelry."

"If you weren't my friend, I would have beaten you to a pulp long time ago, Sonic. This is my mission and responsibility, not about having fun. Now state your business." Knuckles, who took the teasing way too serious, answered Sonic with a straight face.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry for being mean. Man, you need to learn how to relax. Anyway, I came to show you the new toys I found." Speak as he pulled the backpack from Tails and opened it, Sonic mindlessly apologized. Before Knuckles could get a closer look, he turned the backpack upside down and shook its insides out.

Accompanied by sounds of glassy items falling to the ground, crashing to each other. Knuckles focused on the objects rolling at his feet, they were 6 orange-coloured transparent orbs.

"What are these?" Curiously, he bent down to pick one up for observation, then he noticed there are five red stars floating in the center. "Where did you find these glass marbles? They're huge."

"Haha, they do look alike, but these orbs...well, how should I put it." Cleared his throat a little bit, Sonic took out a similar orb, but this one with only 4 stars. "Apparently, they are the new Chaos Emeralds now."

"…? Ha—?! W...what?" The red echidna stopped moving. He shoot another stare at the Five-Star ball in his palm and looked back at Sonic again, as if saying 'explain yourself!'

Sonic was only joking. Though it turned out Knuckles was too hard-headed to find that statement funny.

"Alas." The blue hedgehog sighed, decided not to test the echidna's sense of humour. So he leaned over before pointed at Tails. "I'm trolling you just now. The truth is, all Chaos Emeralds disappeared overnight. I used the emerald radar searched the entire planet but couldn't find a trace. And the most ridiculous part is Tails and I both possessed one Chaos Emerald the night before, but when I woke up this morning, they just magically turned into these...bigger size 'glass marbles'."

Knuckles's jaw-dropped with Tails agreed with his friend while adding more.

"Yeah. It's hard to believe, but I'm certain no one entered or left my workshop last night. Not to mention how someone could sneak into Sonic's house and stole his chaos emerald without being noticed. Even Eggman couldn't pull that off, we know he was never the sneaky type. So today we did some research and found that all the Chaos Emeralds disappeared like a magic show."

"You...are you serious!?" Knuckles's shocking face was somewhat funny, but neither Sonic nor Tails laughed. Not only that, they exchanged glances and gave him a firm nod.

"Even Shadow got the same problem. He seemed to held a green Chaos Emerald at hand, but it got turn into one-star ball in the end." The blue hedgehog replied.

"Oh? So Shadow also...Then that must be true."

Sonic was very dissatisfied with Knuckles's conclusion.

"Wait a minute! You didn't buy my story, yet believed me when Shadow was mentioned! That's kinda rude don't you think?"

With a perfect poker-face, echidna said: "It's because Shadow wouldn't joke around like you always do." As for Sonic, he sure felt a little offended by his friend's statement.

Before situation fall out of hands, Tails stepped in to dissuade them and successfully reverted the subject back to its right track.

"B...but the problem is they don't seem to be ordinary glass marbles...Well, in fact, I don't even think these orbs were made by glass at all! Their actual composition needs to be tested to allow me drew any conclusion. —Anyway! When we gathered seven together, they will act like this." As he said this, Tails recover the five-star ball from Knuckles and reached out to Sonic.

The latter one gently bent down to put his four-star ball close to the other six. What caught the red echidna's eyes next was the sight of 7 orange orbs echoing and resonating with each other, a scene just full of déjà vu.

Then situation only got more complicated since all they does was resonating, nothing more. After waiting for a good while with seemly no progression. Knuckles, Sonic, and Tails looked at each other, with the red echidna finally lost his patience.

"Uh, what's next?"

"There's no 'next', my friend." Sonic retrieved his four-star ball. "Seeing this, I had a feeling we were missing something, like a determine factor or certain condition have not been met yet. Since I'm at the end of my wits now, I thought of you...or more like I thought of Master Emerald. Maybe it can cast some spell to turn these orbs back to Chaos Emeralds or something..."

"The Master Emerald was created specifically to stop the Chaos Emeralds when they out of control. It can't perform magic tricks, let alone spell." Knuckles shook his head violently before rejected Sonic's proposal. Before Sonic tried another method to persuade him, Knuckles hesitated. "But I can try to locate the Chaos Emeralds's whereabouts if you needed."

"Eh? You can do that?"

"Yeah, Master Emerald is the central control system for all Chaos Emeralds, so of course it can detect the location of the Chaos Emeralds and maybe communicate with the current wielder, if they are willing to talk that is."

"Great, then let's get started." Sonic urged. Knuckles nodded before extended his arms towards the Master Emerald resting on altar. A short moment later, a 3-D display appeared in front of the three. The odd thing is: its screen was facing to an endless void space.

Confused by this sudden change of scenery, Sonic, Knuckles and Tails craned their necks, wishing they could stick their heads into the screen to get a clearer look. Yet after a long term struggle they still couldn't figure out what they were gawking at.

"What is this place?" Sonic pointed his index finger at the void dimension in front of him. "I don't see anybody here though~?...Also is it my imagination? I can sense some weird chaos energy from this place...Uh...on second thoughts, I don't think chaos energy ever felt like this...so maybe a different thing...like a sort of aura?"

"? What are you babbling about? What aura? I don't sense anything. Now you start to talk like Shadow." Unlike Sonic, Knuckles exchanged glances with Tails and both shook their heads violently. They couldn't understand a syllable coming from the blue hedgehog.

"It's just the atmosphere felt very heavy, as if even time itself has stopped in this...strange dimension...Never mind, probably just my imagination since it didn't seem to affect you guys." Despite still been bothered by his unreasonable intuition(?), Sonic decided to stop delved into the issue any further. Instead, he turned his head to looked at the screen again. "It seems the current owner was not here. Maybe this place's just some storage room? No matter, if Chaos Emeralds are really in that god-knows-where dimension, we can't get them back anyway. Guess we'll just need to figure out what these orbs can do now."

Following Sonic's gesture, Knuckles stopped the Master Emerald. As the 3-D display dissolved into thin air, he sat down and picked up a seven-star ball, asked: "You say figure it out, but how?"

"I don't know. Anyway, let's have a brainstorm session first...Oh, by the way, brainstorm means..." He tried to explain to Knuckles, but the latter one raised his voice annoyingly.

"I know what brainstorm is!"

"Do you though? Then explain to me what brainstorm means." Sonic asked, glaring at his echidna friend. For results, he got an expected answer from Knuckles.

"It's just a storm in your brain, right?! Of course I know!"

"...Sometimes I really believe you would benefit a lot by going down to the human world more often, at least you can learn some common sense there."

"Haaah—?! What does that suppose mean!"

"Hahahaha, let me go first." Before Knuckles could react to Sonic's roast. Tails tried to smooth thing over again by intervened. "Maybe they need some kind of ritual? Like a dance of sort...uh, to show respect to the orbs!"

"If that's the case, then forget it. How could we possibly know what kind of dance needed to summon the power of these giant marbles?" Sonic shake his hand, shooting down Tails's suggestion: "But the ritual thing might be on the right track...maybe they require offerings? Or some incantations. The problem is that no matter which one is the correct answer, we have no way of knowing that...We don't even know what these balls are or what they are capable of in the first place."

"Incantations..." Subconsciously choosing the option required the least effort, Knuckles suddenly jumped up from the ground while shouting out loudly: "Open Sesame!"

"Yeah, like that's gonna work." Shaking his head, the blue hedgehog pulled the echidna by the shoulder stop him from wasting more time, but he didn't expect Tails to be the next one standing up with his fists clenched.

"Shooting stars! Make my wish come true!"

"Buddy, you know it's not that easy, and why shooting stars? It's still daytime...!?" Sonic laughed, but at the same time, he saw something peculiar. It's those orbs, their pulsation speed up like reacting to what the little fox just chanted. "Wait! Tails! Say that again!"

"Huh?!...Oh, ok." Startled by his friend, Tails blinked hard as he repeated what he had just yelled.

"Shooting stars, please make my wish come true!"

As if to prove Sonic's speculation, the orbs lit up.

"Shooting stars." No response.

"Make my wish come true" All seven were flashing.

The three switched glances again, then they all started calling.

"Heavens! Make my wish come true! "-Nope

"God! Please fulfill my desire! "-Also nope

"Ancestors of the Echidna Warriors! Please grant my wish! "-Still no

"Knuckles, this one I'm confident won't work. After all, they had nothing to do with your ancestors." -Sonic

Time had passed, though none of the incantations worked like the three hoped. The 7 orbs only flashed like they were going to do something, but still nothing in the end. Without making any substantial progress, Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails sighed in unison.

"Knew it won't be this easy...So? What should we do next? Maybe calling out all gods' name from every mythology?" Sonic whimpered, his usually crispy voice was downright hoarse.

"The problem is: it's not just god appeared in mythos. Many ancient civilizations tends to deifying their rulers. For example, the pharaohs of Egypt, the emperor of China, and so on. We might have to count them in as well." Tails's tone was also gloomy. The excitement of guessing the half incantation correct dissipated by now.

Now he was like a mud on the wall, had the will to go on but not the strength to keep up.

"You're kidding...please say you are. There are so many of them, even if we shout until next week it still guaranteed nothing...Then again, just for curiosity. What kind of god would the pharaoh of Egypt become? And the emperor of China?" Knuckles, who had already given up, changed the subject swiftly.

"Well, the book says pharaoh was the incarnation of Horus—guardian of the kingship; on the other hand, the Chinese Emperor was treated as the all mighty Shen Long*—the divine dragon above nine heavens." The young fox explained to his echidna friend, but failed to notice his other friend's reaction. Before the two could discuss more, Sonic shouted out for the second time.

A/N: *神龍Chinese pinyin: Shen Long, it sounds almost identical to the original Japanese (Shenron) because it's a blatantly translation from Chinese text even in original series.

"Tails, REPEAT!"

"Eh...heh!?…Uh, the Pharaoh is the incarnation of Horus…"

"Not that, the second half."

"The Chinese emperor...was treated as the all mighty Shen Long...?"

Just like that, right in front of their eyes, the seven orbs emitted a light that was far more dazzling than before.

2.5 Sonic's Dimension

Universe 8 : the Sacred world of the Kai

"Iru, what is this? A new plan?" Flipping through the thick notepad in his hand, the God of Destruction of Universe 8 held his chin by right hand, looking thoughtful. "Huh, '5 steps to further improve the mortal level in our beautiful universe', let me see... umh—add one more step here." He turned to the last pages and pointed at the bottom: "From now on, Universe 8 needs to start improving the combat capability of the mortals, you know what, make it the most important step! The previous held Tournament of Power is a wake-up call for all of us. I know my Universe was able to avoid participating the tournament thanks to our hardworking, but after seeing the warriors Beerus and Belmod brought for entry, I think we should take some precaution."

Lowered his head, Liquiir's tone was filled with anxious.

"Even though all's well that ends well, my universe was almost going to participate. This makes me think, what if we entered the tournament...what would happened, how far we could have gone? Let me be honest, I have no idea, no confidence, and even no answers. And that...just worries me...Before the Tournament of Power, I never paid too much attention to the combat capability of my humans. After all, we have never fixated on that aspect before. But now is different. We must hurry up finding mortals with potentials and started their training. After all, who knows what might happen if Zeno-sama was in a bad mood again..." Quietly shivering, Liquiir did not have the courage to speak it loud. But the Supreme Kai Iru, who is his 'working partner', naturally understood his concern.

"Indeed, according to Zeno-sama's standard, 7 is not a particularly difficult number to achieve, and there is a high possibility next time the passing score might be higher." The angel of the Universe 8—Korn, nodded while expressed his opinion. "The Universe 8 is a beautiful place that has always been peaceful, but this mindset destined to be our biggest failure in a sense. To put it bluntly, Lord Liquiir. If we were ordered to participate, I am afraid the percentage of our victory was rather low. Not to mention exceptional fighters such as Jiren from Universe 11 and Universe 7's Son Goku were both rare cases, thus not something we can expected anytime soon. And don't forgot, both of them were associated with their respected Universe's God of Destruction, and received certain degree of guidance from my brother and sister. This only means their power didn't achieve such height within short term, rather coming from longtime training that require potential and hardship, which were what we lacked of: Time. Player."

"…Kaha~Umph." With his attendant touching every nerve Liquiir worried about, the Universe 8's god of destruction looked like he was about to have a heart-attack.

"...I guess truth always hurts the most...! Lord Liquiir!? Are you okay!?" Iru screamed.

"(Breath in and out) Jiren and Son Goku...Warriors' with such caliber were hard to find, that I do understand..." After a bit of heavy breathing, the God of Destruction of Universe 8 spoke again. "But the two female fighters Champa brought to the tournament were not so bad as well, even before they used the potara fusion. If it's possible, I'd like to have warriors around their power level. If I'm not mistaken, they were the same race as that Son Goku, correct? And this race is..."

"Saiyan." After taking another sneak peak at his stuff, Korn answered. "Due to the twin-universe attributes, both Universe 6 and 7 existed a warrior race named Saiyan. It's just a pity most Universe 7's Saiyans were wiped out decades ago. And only a few pure-blood were left alive. We saw Son Goku and Vegeta at the tournament, and the latter one defeated Toppo—candidate for the next God of Destruction. On the other hand, Universe 6's Saiyans were all lived in a relatively peaceful life." The angel paused before continuing. "After a double check, I found out Saiyan as a race have one certain aspect specifically suitable for battle. As long as the fight didn't end with their death, there's no limits to a Saiyan's strength. Though I do believe this is also the reason why most of them died young. However, the potential of those who survived the fierce battle were a force to be reckoned...I guess Jiren learned that truth through the hard way."

The more Korn speaks, the more impressed he sounds.

"...hmm...uh...I wonder...is there has anyone or anything like the Saiyans in our universe?" Liquiir hesitated, but still asked the important question in mind.

"Unfortunately...no." As a matter of fact, Korn's answer was swift and disappointing. And to further discourage his lord, he even explained how he reached this conclusion: "In fact, ever since the Tournament of Power, I have started my research, but nothing came out. Come to think of it, the warrior race only gets stronger by breaking through limits, it's like they were born to fight. How could such characteristic being a common thing in multiverse. Truth to be told, I'm already surprised they existed in two."

As soon as he finishing the sentence, Korn suddenly changed subject to ease that heavy atmosphere brought by himself. This time, the melody in that tone sends a complete different message.

"I know you are disappointed, Lord Liquiir. But we can't complain things never existed before. So why not focus on the one actually does? For better or for worse, my research was not completely in vain. There's one thing piqued my interest and I believe it would also interest you. So just think of it as killing time, let me tell you my small discovery."

"?...Go ahead..."

Despite it being a 'small discovery', Korn talked about it enthusiastically. This is also the first time Liquiir and Iru saw him in such a good mood, especially when they were more familiar with his calm and collected image.

Korn grinned: " Let me ask you one question first, my lord. Do you remember which planet the participants of Universe 7 came from?"

"Uh...I don't know." To tell the truth, Liquiir never paid attention to that piece of information. So even if Beerus or high priest mentioned it during the tournament, he didn't remember a thing.

"So, where?"

"It's called Earth, which is a relatively backwater planet."

"—O...kay? I see. Then what?" Liquiir really didn't caught up on Korn's enthusiasm, but interested to find out.

Backwater was never a problem for Universe 7's earth, especially when they have so many powerful warriors. Liquiir was a little jealous of Beerus, for someone as lazy as him, the man's luck of finding strong mortals is ridiculously great. Almost everyone he brought to the tournament contributed and eliminated some competitors.

'Why can't he share some of that luck with me?!' Liquiir groaned.

With Liquiir lost in thoughts, Korn quietly dropped the bombshell.

"Ah, yes...I searched entire universe throughly, and found out that...What a coincidence! We also got an Earth in Universe 8. And it's pretty backwater by our standards...Though I'm almost certain there's more than meets the eye."

The angel's grin got bigger, with their God of Destruction's shocking gaze and Supreme Kai's opened mouth.

"So...why don't we go pay them a visit? Let's take a closer look at—Universe 8's/Our planet Earth."

1.5 Dragon Ball Dimension

Universe 7

As soon as Whis contacted his brother, he saw everyone standing in a circle like having a discussion: the God of Destruction/Liquiir, the Supreme Kai/Iru, and of course, the Angel/Korn. Whis thought he was seeing things, but confirmed otherwise with a second look because how obvious it was.

Korn's in a very good mood. And that's a rare sight to see.

"Ah, what a surprise." The angel of Universe 8 noticed the stuff's calling and turned to their direction, this drew the attention of the God of Destruction and the Supreme Kai altogether. "Who have we here? Another coincidence, we were just talking about your guys. So, can I help you my dear brother?"

"Huh? Us? What do you want, Liquiir."

"What do I want? What DO YOU WANT! You are the one contacted us, remember? Look, I'm a busy man, unlike you, I took my job seriously. We are going to leave for an inspection about one of my planet very soon, so why don't you guys cut to the chase." It seems like Liquiir was not in the mood of chitchat, Whis find that reaction fascinating too.

Beerus was suppose to stay on sideline and waiting for the result of Whis and U8's conversation patiently. However, thanks to his good eyesight, by the time his fellow destroyer god sent a smugly smile towards their direction, he caught it immediately. With a burning annoyance flared inside his chest, Beerus cursed: "You little...!"

Before he could say anything Beerus was pulled aside by Shin to prevent further argument with the God of Destruction from other universes.

"Then let me get this straight with you, Korn. We do have an issue wanted to discuss with you and Lord Liquiir. Since it's a complicate matter to talk like this, I'd love to arrange a time to meet up in person." Behind his back, there's Beerus's angry bawling in the distance, yet neither Whis nor Korn bothered by that and kept their conversation going.

"No problem, but not now. Just like Lord Liquiir said, we are going to a visit a planet for inspection. I will arrange the meeting after we came back, is that okay with you?"

Whis nodded at the suggestion while peaking at his brother's face.

'Just like I thought...Korn really is in a good mood...'

"Very well. In that case, inform me when you're done." Whis had to admit, he's a little curious. But this was Universe 8's personal affairs after all, so the U7 angel didn't intend to pry. However, before he could cut the connection, Liquiir on the other end throw that familiar smirk at Beerus again.

Accept this provocation like a war declaration, Beerus walked up with his eyes narrowed dangerously close after shoved Shin away: "What are you laughing at?"

"Nothing~~~" Liquiir examined the faces showed on Korn's stuff, yet he didn't stop trying to get on Beerus's nerve. In fact, he decided to fan up that flames even more by paused for another second before asking Beerus a complete unrelated question : "By the way, Beerus. If I remember correctly there is a planet called Earth in your universe, right?"

"..." Not getting what Liquiir was hinting at, the feline destroyer god became wary of him very fast: "What if there is, what if there is not? Why did you ask?"

"Give me a break. It's not like I'm gonna rob your planet from you. Who do you think I am? That brother of yours?!"

"Hey! I'm right here!" Champa, the innocent bystander who was watching the show from the sideline got hit by their verbal stray bullet. Yet nobody paid any attention to him with Beerus himself ignoring his twin's protest and continued to glaring at Liquiir.

"If it's not the case, then why are you asking anyway?"

"No specific reasons?—However..." After a few fake coughs, the U8's God of Destruction raised his right eyebrow along with that unfading smirk. "I just found out there is also a planet named Earth in my universe, located in North Galaxy, a place called solar intriguing, don't you agree?"

"…"

"..." As soon as hearing this new piece of information, Beerus exchanged glances with Whis immediately. The former one quickly regained his composure and tried to get more answers from this friendly neighbourhood they just found out today.

"Hu—uh~? That's interesting indeed. So what's your Earth look like? Bet it looked shabby as hell, similar to the one in Universe 6—human turned against each other like bunch of low-intelligent brutes!"

"EXCUSE ME!? Hello!? I said I'm still here!" The second yell of his brother could be heard in a distance, but before Champa rushed forward to start a three-way-brawl, Vados steps in to dragged he away.

"What do you mean by SHABBY!? It's in my universe! How could they be anything but great! Stupid cat!" Liquiir immediately retorted.

"WHAT!? YOU STINKY FOX!"

"How DARE you calling me that!"

"Of course, not only that, I can say whatever I want!"

"%#$# &%$%!"

"$ #&*!"

"I wonder...the planet you guys wanted to inspect, could it be Universe 8's Earth?" Ignoring all the background noises, Whis asked his brother.

"That's correct. Since our Supreme Kai really enjoyed his work, we have far too many planets to keep track of. So unless something really caught our attention, even Iru-sama himself could barely remember a thing about it."

"No wonder..." Whis whispered.

"Yada yada, all I could hear were bluffing, so why don't you showed us some proof?" Seeing his reverse psychology worked, Beerus sneered at the other God of Destruction. "For context, my Earth is a beautiful place filled with life and entertainment, yes, the technology level was pretty mid but the food and drinks are first class...No, I'd say they are on its own rank. I wonder how ugly-looking your Earth might be? Must be UGLY ugly."

"—you!" Liquiir looked like he was about to explode, just when Beerus thought he messed this up by pushing way too many buttons. After a seemly ever-lasting silence, the U8's G.O.D finally speaks again, voice full of irritation. "As you wish! I will show you who's ugly and shabby! Korn, Iru, let's move! As for you, Universe 7! Don't you dare go anywhere! I will ask Korn to contact your attendant when we arrived on Earth! We will see! Beerus!" After dropping that statement, he temporarily shut down the communication.

Beerus's satisfied, he always hates being mocked at but enjoyed the reverse scenario.

After that, the feline destroyer turned around to Whis, gave him a silent nod. The latter one understandably returned the gesture by calling to the two sparring Saiyans faraway.

"Goku-san, Vegeta-san. Let's take a break for now, shall we?"

2. Sonic Dimension

U8 : North Galaxy : Solar System : Earth

-Angel Island

"So that's the incantations? But why is dragon? And which part of these giant marbles related to dragon?" Sonic stared at his Four-Star ball, still confused.

"I...have no idea...but we won't get any answers if we never test it out." On the other end, Tails, the star of this riddle contest, radiated with excitement. "But Sonic, are you sure about me being the one saying the incantations?"

"Of course, buddy. Let's be honest, without your knowledge, me and knuckle head didn't have any chance of guessing the correct answer. I'm glad to have luck and you on my side, so don't be afraid. If anything goes south, I'm here for you. Ah...also the Master Emerald (Knuckles: Hey!? I haven't grant you any permission for using the Master Emerald!)." Ignoring the red echidna's protests, Sonic gave Tails a thumb-up and an encouraging smile.

"...Okay! (inhales, exhales). I'm ready, Sonic."

Fully prepared himself, Tails raised both of his hands as high as possible, then took another deep breath, shouted at the top of his lungs.

"Divine Dragon(Shen Long) of the heavens! Please grant my wish!"

Incoming was the eye-blinding lightning bolt fell from the sky and struck at the center of altar. Just as Knuckles was about to go in panic mode, the formerly blue sky buried in layers of dark clouds all of the sudden. Next, even more lightnings danced under those heavy clouds, like a batch of golden snakes twisting their bodies in a frenzy. This is when the most shocking scene emerged, one dazzling bright-light shot out from the seven orbs before struck into the sky, with its body slowly turning into a giant, green monster reminiscing of the dragon from eastern folklore.

"...O-kay, now I can see the dragon part..."

Hearing Sonic mumbling beside him, Tails couldn't help but shivering in excitement and fear. He didn't even have the courage of looking away.

It is especially times like this, the little fox envied Sonic's fearless and nonchalant nature. As if even the sky fall upon them, he will still laugh it off by held it up for his friends.

Standing beside him makes Tails felt like he could do anything, because Sonic always got his back.

Just like this, the young fox slowly started to calm down.

Soon, the dragon turned his head towards their direction, Tails could even see his own reflection from those ruby-red eyes.

Then it talked.

"I am Shenron...I shall grant you any wish...Now speak...?"

"Wow, this guy sure looks big, but he doesn't sounds so confident." Unlike Knuckles and Tails who were still in shock, Sonic was the first to react.

However, his somehow relaxed voice soon got serious: "Can I ask you questions instead of making wishes?"

Instinctively felt something was off about this place, about these animals(?) looking up at him. The confused Shenron slowly lowered his head and carefully observed his summoner. After a long wait, he nodded the huge head.

"Of course, but that will be the wish I grant you—wish for knowledge. Now, speak."

"Sure. I know it's a rude question, but I really want to ask—just what are you? What are these round balls? And do you know where are the Chaos Emeralds?"

The blue...thing was not joking, his questions really were rude, especially the first two, even downright stupid in a sense. Shenron was annoyed, so he expressed that annoyance immediately.

"What am I? I am the eternal dragon granted people wishes. That is my nature. You are the one collected all the dragon balls to summoning me, but NOW asking me what I am?" There goes the first two answers, however, it is at this time Shenron halted his anger.

"Wait, what are the Chaos Emeralds?"

"Huh...I thought you just said you can grant any wish? Besides, it is because the Chaos Emeralds were replaced by your seven orbs...or I should say Dragon Balls? That's why I wanted to know where did our emeralds go." Facing such magnificent creature out of this world, Sonic's reaction was rather...peculiar. From his expression, Shenron couldn't found a trace of fear or fluster, especially for a first time encounter. Not only that, the tone in his voice even had a hint of disappointment.

Seeing his summoner's lack of reaction (and lack of respect), Shenron suddenly had an oddly sense of déjà vu: the blue hedgehog reminded him somebody else. But he couldn't put the two to two together yet, which only adds onto that already existing frustration.

"Um, Mr. Shen long." Seeing that giant dragon shoot Sonic a much more intense look, Tails jumped out to ease the situation. "I'm sorry, Sonic's always like that, but he didn't mean any harm. Let's go back to our wishes, since you don't know what the Chaos Emeralds are, then can you tell us why the Dragon Balls are here?"

At least one of his summoners know manners, Shenron's eyes lit up, as if it was thinking something. After a moment of silence, he let out a long sigh before muttered in a very low voice.

"…I see now…No wonder I had this weird feeling. This is not my…"

"Uh...Mister Shen long?" Tails raised his voice.

"I heard you. This...is not the Earth I'm familiar with." The giant dragon tilted its head to the blue hedgehog, his frustration dissipated. "I can answer your last question now. The 'Chaos Emeralds' you mentioned should be on my Earth. I came from a universe that's completely different from yours. Due to unknown reasons, the dragon balls resonated with its counterparts and both artifacts switched earthes. That is why I showed up here. So If you wish to return everything back to normal, you must inform the problem to your universe's Supreme Kai. The multiverse issue were beyond my capability, these are my limitations."

Although he was dissatisfied with blue hedgehog's attitude, it was also true he failed to grant their wish. If that was the case, Shenron felt that 'Sonic's' complain was somehow justified.

"…Well, it's fine. Sorry for being rude. Thank you anyway. Oh, my name is Sonic, and this is my best friend Tails and Knuckles. Hello, Shen long. Before you go, could you tell me who Supreme Kai is? And when you said multiverse, were you talking about parallel universes?" Whirlpool of questions fly through head, Sonic quickly regained his composure and only asking the important question, this time acted much more polite and sincere. However, the way he carried himself never lose that calmness and confidence.

It seems this Sonic guy isn't arrogant as the dragon believed so. Yes, he speaks what he thinks, he can be rude and straightforward but also no bad intent. After acknowledging this, the insulted anger completely disappeared, and this is when the dragon god finally recalled the other answer had bothered him.

That's right. His straightforwardness, his honesty, and his nonchalant attitude towards others are very similar to that man—Son Goku. On one hand, he has never looked down on people around him; on the other hand, he also never felt inferior to anyone as well. No one's gonna be above nor below them because they sees everyone as equals, even the wish granting magic dragon couldn't change that aspect. The best way to describe both would be the type not bothered by small details, though sometimes they could easily be mistaken for didn't think before talk (at least for Goku). However, if they believe their words might have a negative impact on surroundings, they will apologize without hesitations.

Shenron laughed inside. He neither expected dragon balls to be transported to another universe, nor imagined to be summoned in an alternative Earth. But when he snapped eyes open, one of his summoner just happened to remind him the man he watched through years. Frankly speaking, they look nothing alike and from different races, though Shenron's way of detecting similarities weren't from superficial aspects such as appearance or race. But rather something deep, like their true nature or the quality of the soul. So maybe today's encounter was driven by a twist of fate.

"It's okay, Sonic. Was...it? I will remember this name. About your first question. Supreme Kai is the god of creation that controls the birth of planets and civilizations in the entire universe, but as a deity he usually won't come down to mortal world unless something emergency happened. However, this time might be different. The time-space displacement phenomenon between the two universes would definitely affected the balance between multiverse, thus there's a great chance he will show up in the future. I will give you some extras informations: make sure to not overstep the boundaries and showed some respect towards the Supreme Kai, everything should be resolved in peace. As for the second question, my answer is also a 'yes'. I am the eternal dragon, born to grant wishes when all dragon balls gathered together. I...originally belongs to the Earth of Universe 7. An alternate version of your Earth."

Sonic glanced at Tails who quickly took out his computer and started typing, then he smiled at Shenron still hovering in the sky: "I see, thank you for the advise."

Then they waited, but the dragon didn't disappear like he said so, instead, the giant creature just stared back at the blue hedgehog, after a brief moment of silence, he speaks again: "Do you have any more wishes? I can grant you three, you used two for questions, but there's still one left."

"Wow, you can do that much?" Tails gaped, surprised at Shenron's generosity.

"Normally...no. Three wishes were for regulars only, unknown first-timer usually got one. But I'm in a good mood today, so I will grant you three. Do you have more wishes? Eternal life, unfading youth, or infinity wealth, anything will be fine." Shenron looked at Sonic, as if specifically asking him.

"? No, I don't need any of those. But, if I must come up with something...then I kinda want to be unaffected by water while I'm running through oceans? The pressure and resistance were always been my mortal enemies. I know I could transform to fly over it but that's an entirely different issue...Oh, yes, it would be nice if I could breathe underwater, too!"

Sonic rejected Shenron's suggestion at first, but quickly changed his mind.

"Your wish has been granted." Shenron's eyes lit up with his booming voice like thunder in the rainstorm. Sonic's eyes snapped open after hearing such unbelievable claim.

"Wait!? Seriously!?" The blue hedgehog checked himself up and down without finding any visible changes. Then he looked up again, stared right back at Shenron. From the moment they meet the eyes, the doubt lingering in Sonic's mind disappeared, all left was simple gratitude. "Thanks a bunch, Shen long~"

"Hum...no need to thank me as it is my job." The dragon let out a light chuckle, then he asked Sonic with a slight hint of curiosity hidden within: "Before I leave, can you answer my question for a change? Why did you choose such a wish?"

"Well...The thing is. Two of my favourite things are adventure and running. But I am a landlubber. If I fall into water, I'm like a sitting duck just waiting for help or get drowned." The hedgehog laughed, didn't seem to be shamed of admitting his weakness. "So I'd like to run without worrying such a thing. To run without anyone or anything stops me from reaching the next level! That's why I wish to be able to breathe and run underwater. Because there must be countless challenges no one foresee waiting for me at the end of that speed! Whenever I imagining what would comes later just makes me excited to no end! I know it's kind weird for me to think like that...but how can I help myself? I want to be faster, faster, and even more faster. Fast enough to go beyond, fast enough to break my limits."

"Hehe—No, I don't think you are weird, as a matter of fact, you reminded me an acquaintance of mine very much." Listening to Sonic's reasoning in an amazement, the supposed to be leaving dragon made another chuckle noisy.

It appears to be pretty accurate when he draws comparison between Sonic and Goku, two seemingly unrelated character having some fundamental similarities. Both of them pursued something beyond their limitations. Sonic could wish for run faster, but he didn't even consider that possibility since it's a goal he wants to reach by his own merits, rely on something else would break that sense of pride. And it's the same thing with Son Goku, and Vegeta to a lesser extent, when he had the change of heart. The biggest difference between the two was the goal they struggle to reach: For Goku, it was to get stronger; for Sonic, it was to get faster. Nonetheless, it would be interesting if the two met one day.

Shenron was satisfied, so he informed Sonic and others more details on how to use the Dragon Balls then took his leave at the end.

As its voice gradually fading away, the seven dragon balls turned into round shape rocks shot up to the sky before scattered around the Earth(U8).

U7 : North Galaxy : Earth : West City

"So...you are telling me there is another Earth in Universe 8!? Did I hear it right?" Bulma took the green crystal handed over by Whis and returned a plate of food in exchange.

"Yeah, it's true. However, we have no idea what the Universe 8's Earth looked like, it could be different from both of us."

"The Universe 6 and 7's Earth are similar because they developed together after the regrouping system established 3.5 billion years ago. On the other hand, Universe 8's an entirely different issue, so who knows if it is hell or paradise on earth, or even crawled with monsters." A very bored Beerus poked a chunk of beef by fork and stuff into mouth. But as soon as noticing Goku's sudden stiffened body, he shouted at the Saiyan: "Why are you reacting to that statement! Even if their earth was hell with monsters running around, it has nothing to do with you, Goku. Don't you dare think of sneak in to look for fight!"

"Aww? Don't say things like that! Lord Beerus." The man endured all the anger from the God of Destruction—Son Goku, while also trying to stuff a big bowl of noodles into his mouth, still refuse to back down. "Universe 8 never participated in Tournament of Power, right? So I'm curious about how strong they are! I bet they got some really powerful guys!"

"Hmph, I'm not sure about that." Beerus gave Goku a look he won't understand. Goku was completely unaware of this, and Beerus had no intention of telling him to prevent the Earth-raised Saiyan from getting to his head. But ever since the Tournament of Power, Beerus knew how other universes would view his Universe 7 and the warriors he brought in, especially Goku. He showed everyone he got the potential to master Ultra Instinct, which is a technique even the God of Destruction struggled to do. As result, he had his name and impression imprinted in many gods and angels's heart around the multiverses.

After all, anyone with a pair of workable eyes can tell who are the most outstanding competitors in the tournament.—Jiren from Universe 11 and Son Goku from Universe 7.

"We just don't know yet." Whis replied, also with a mouth-full of turkey meat. "Being exempted does not equal to strength. The power-level is one of the aspect when coming to scoring, but definitely not the most important factor. The balance of human life quality, average technology level, general moral standards are also very essential for mortal levels. That being said, we just don't have enough information to make a judgement. Maybe there are powerful warriors exists, or maybe not. For now, they are just speculations."

Hearing Whis's explanation, Goku stopped eating, slowly shaking his head before changed to a more serious expression.

"Not maybe, I know they do."

"Huh? What kind of nonsense are you talking about, Kakarot?" Vegeta, who was also enjoying his meal, couldn't help but retort to his former enemy's unfounded confidence. "If they were in the Tournament of Power, we could evaluated them based on their ki and fighting styles. But how can you be so sure for an universe we never encountered?"

Vegeta's doubt was justified and Goku understood that perfectly. That's why his eyes were set on the green gem within Bulma's palm.

"Because they told me."

"..." Beerus and Whis's hands stopped moving.

The God of Destruction of Universe 7 asked patiently: "What do you mean?"

"Whis explained to me before, right? These gemstones work like energy source allowing their wielder achieve the most powerful state could reach for now. I'm currently training to transform to Ultra Instinct -Sign- by will, so they helped me sustained that form without using my ki. So I guess they are not that bad after all."

Goku paused before continuing, as if looking for the right words.

"This is when I saw it...during that short period of time, these diamonds showed me several blurry figures." He smiled, spilling some unspoken beans. "Although I can't see too clear, not even their heights or faces, there's one thing I'm certain of it, the will and power emitted from these guys were tremendous. To be honest, that feeling...despite it being vivid and distant, had left a very big impression on me."

He looked up, confident with his conclusion.

"Anyone with such a strong will and aura can't be weak. No way!"

"—I see, this is the vision you saw while absorbing those gemstones into your body, Goku-san." Whis understandably nodded with Beerus leaped towards the taller man and pinched his ear with one hand.

"Such an important thing...why are you hiding from us!?"

"Huh...huh? AW AW AW!? It hurts, it hurts! Lord Beerus! I didn't think it's THAT important!?"

While Goku cried out in pain along with Beerus furiously pinched harder, Vegeta's gaze fall on the emerald in his wife's hand again.

Recognizing that look, Bulma quickly retracted the arm and informed her husband.

"Not now, let me gave it a through check, then I will return it to you, you can verify Son-kun's statement after that. Look, Vegeta. I know you're curious, but at least have some patience with me, okay?"

"—! Oh, shut up! Stop talking nonsense! I'm not curious at all!" Vegeta quickly turned his gaze away, trying best to ignore his wife's sly smile.

It was at this moment the lively tea time party was brought to an end by Whis's small screech.

" Lord Liquiir have arrived at their destination. I'm going to pick up the call now."

Like receiving an important order, everyone put down their food and gathered around.

3.5 Sonic Dimension

U8 : Solar system : Earth Atmosphere : Approximately above North America

Not long ago

"So this is Earth..." Take a closer look at this pretty normal planet, Liquiir was feeling a little disappointed. However, he already agreed letting Beerus 'inspect' the U8 Earth together, so there's no way going back at that regard. This was his first time to set foot on such a remote planet, too. Maybe he should do some research before boasting to his fellow God of Destruction next. Just in case.

Before Liquiir could change his mind, Korn already started a call with his brother Whis, which ultimately made the decision for his lord.

"Oh~I think it's on. Korn, are you guys on Earth already?"

"Yes, we are in front of it." Korn pointed his stuff at the blue planet quietly floating on that dark curtain.

"…Hump. It looks...okay." With that familiar scenery appeared in Whis's stuff, Beerus narrowed his eyes. Behind his back, everyone rushed forward to have a clean look. Too bad because people were shoving and pushing each other so hard that no one could stand still to have a good watching spot.

"I'd say this is really blue, why is so blue though?"

"Oh yes. Because 71% of the Earth surface is covered by H2O, which is water. I think it's beautiful, don't you agree? Lord Liquiir, Iru-sama." Unlike his other two companions, Korn's good mood didn't seem to fade after the warp.

On the Universe 7's side, Vegeta used all his force to pushed Goku's face away while making sure his wife got the best views as well. With his help, Bulma also successfully occupied a spot.

Unfortunately for Goku, who was shoved to the back row by those two, pouted with a disappointing look. However, he was taller than both of them, so it's not like he couldn't see what was happening right now. As for Krillin and others, they were also interested, especially after hearing the existence of Universe 8's Earth. In spite of that, because of that intense competition in the frontline, the only thing they could do were watch from afar.

This is when Gohan finally arrived at the party. He was preparing his speech for the next day's lecture in university. Watching the even more chaotic front yard, the young adult dropped down from the sky proceed to walk towards Piccolo and Krillin: "Sorry I'm late. What did I miss?"

"Hahaha, nothing. In fact, we were just starting." Resting on the edge of flower bed, Krillin greeted Gohan with a warm smile. Then he pointed the group in front, sighed. "As you can see, the competition rate was pretty high up there."

Gohan turned his head. Even with his glasses, the image appeared on Whis's stuff was pretty transparent, but he didn't want to transform just for that. So Gohan squinted his eyes hard to get a better sight, not very effective though: "So...that...is the Earth in Universe 8...?"

"Yep, pretty cool, huh~? It looks exactly like our Earth, so weird." Krillin agreed with a nod. "You know what?...maybe I will get a closer look!" As soon as he made the decision, the bald man left Gohan and Piccolo.

"If you want to see, be my guest. My eyesights are better than you, at least in this state." The Namekian's voice was soft and gentle.

"Okay. I'll be right back." After accepting Piccolo's kindness, Gohan walk briskly towards his father who also returned a warm welcome.

"You are here! Gohan!"

"Yeah, dad. How's everything going?"

"Smoothly. Say, why don't you help me steal Vegeta and Bulma's spot! They pushed me back here! That's not fair at all!"

"Oh you can try! Kakarot!"

"Maybe I will~"

"Would you guys be quiet for a second!? Whis! project the screen bigger."

"As your wish, Lord Beerus."

"If you look closely, this place is indeed similar to our Earth. If I must point out any difference, it will be size of the land plate. It seems like their Earth got more continent than us." After carefully examining the blue planet, Whis shifted his gaze to the land area.

Unlike Goku and Vegeta, who have never paid any attention to these useless knowledge, Bulma and Gohan both agreed. The latter one even switched into his scholar mode and starting to analyze this new Earth: "Although I can't see the whole planet, compared to us, their Earth has an extra plate of continent. Yet this part is more similar to ours. How Very Intriguing!"

"Ha! My land area are bigger than yours!" Liquiir's proudly proclaims can be heard from the stuff, which also leads to Beerus's annoyance.

"Screw you! This doesn't mean anything!" Seeing the Earth of Universe 8 was definitely not a hell-ish place with monsters running rampant, Beerus was a little disappointed. Because a quick look would be enough to tell, this place really is similar to the planet he's standing right now. The same blue-ish coloration, the same look of nothing special, but after spending time with these humans on Earth, Beerus understood that fact of never judging a book by its cover perfectly now. In that case, the more similarities both Earths shares, the more sour taste Beerus remembered.

This is the feeling of finding out that something special only belongs to him suddenly lost its uniqueness. And Beerus hated it. (In his mind, the Earth in Universe 6 was just a downgraded version of his own. After all, the human lived there were foolish enough to destroyed each other, which means they definitely can't compare with his Earth).

"Uh...Lord Liquiir, Lord Beerus, please calm done. I...I must say this blue sure looks nice, completely different from the Sacred world of Kai." Iru quickly tried to smooth things over by keep praising the Earth. "Blue sky, white clouds, vast ocean, half-destroyed moon, perfect...Wait."

Hearing Iru's voice suddenly got cut off, Korn turned around to face his freshly discover.

"This is the moon...but why is it only half?" Liquiir frowned, studied the uneven lines of that half sphere, then demanded the answer from his attendant.

"... It seems their Earth definitely not just rainbows and gumdrops either..." In the West City, Bulma's eyes were glued at this familiar sight. "But they don't have Dragon Balls to help them return everything back to normal...how sad."

"Huh, just like I thought. They are fools just like Champa's Earth. It's always the bad nature of humanity that leads to their own destruction." Beerus's mood was getting significantly better after witnessing the scenery.

"B...but, even so, our Earth didn't perish, which means their habitants at least worked together to overcome the obstacles, right?!"

Supreme Kai Iru made an desperate argument, sadly, no seems to paid any attention to him.

After a little search, they discovered something interesting. Korn brought Supreme Kai and God of Destruction to the other side of the earth, where they found a strange artificial satellite floating in the debris.

"What now?" Looking at this strangely shaped harden steel-planet looked like a human face, Liquiir got even more questions.

In response, his angel attendant did not disappointed him either: "This thing is called the Space Colony Ark—it is the culprit turned the moon into that state. But it should have been abandoned now...huh..."

Korn's smile was suspicious. As if he knows something others don't, However, without informing any of his audience, Korn gave Earth another quiet sight before turning around: "Lord Liquiir, Iru-sama. Why don't we take a closer look?"

"...Sure." As the God of Destruction of Universe 8, Liquiir noticed his attendant's unusual behaviour immediately. So he purposely refrained to ask any questions in front of the people from Universe 7. By the time scenery changed again, they passed through the atmosphere before landed at a place with an altitude around 1000 meters above.

"Is that...a skyscraper?" Bulma's voice trailed off after seeing those buildings. "But their design concepts were completely different from our world, very interesting."

It was obvious the place they chose to observe was a huge metropolis comparable to West City both in size and scale. There were tall buildings everywhere, streets bustling like any other big city, and humans all lived in a rather relaxing environment, even their appearance looked exactly like U7's Earthlings.

"Ho~? What's the name of this city? Korn?"

"Yes, Lord Liquiir. This is the Station Square—a very prospered economic centers. It belongs to the United Federation, one of the many countries existed on Earth." Careful explained the details he knows, Korn's soothing voice came through the stuff, went into everyone's ears.

"Wait! He said One, does that mean there's more than one countries over there?" Gohan listened carefully like a good student he always is. So Unlike their home-planet, the Earth on other side didn't seemed to unified under one regime, but rather split into smaller politic powers.

"Exactly, as a matter of fact, according to my research, there should be different forces and countries on this planet. We are just looking at the tip of an iceberg for now. Scholar of the Universe 7." Surprisingly, it was Korn answered Gohan's question.

Beerus was not interested in these random knowledge at all. His eye were glued on a caravan parked at left side of the street. There was something painted on the front side of the car. The yellow part looked like bread, with a piece of red meat and yellow ingredients in the middle.

"Bulma! What's that!?"

"Eh? Let me see...ah, isn't that a chili dogs? A food similar to hot dogs. You had some before." The blue-haired scientist hurried over took a quick look.

"Are you sure? I don't remember eating any of this. Also isn't it supposed to be different from that hot dogs you speak of?"

"Lord Beerus, you ate a lot of earth food by now, so I'm not surprise you forgot about one. And yes, you did ate hot dogs but not chili dogs. Want to try some?"

With both of the God of Destruction and Angel nodded desperately, Bulma laughed while turned around to tell the chef their new menus.

Patiently waiting for food, yet Beerus's mood slipped again for obvious reason. He didn't want the Earth in Universe 8 also being a planet with a wide variety of delicious food. Champa's fine because...for better or for worse, he's still Beerus's brother. Not to mention U6's Earth was a poorer version of his. But now with Universe 8...

It seemed that Liquiir's luck was pretty good. Not only having a universe with a higher mortal level, but also an Earth with a lot of food!? Not fair!

Despite aware the fact U8's high mortal level was achieved by their own hardworking, Beerus cursed nevertheless. The problem is now with U8's Earth's being pretty okay, the feline destroyer felt his biggest advantage over Liquiir were silently fading away. (Yes, the delicious Earth food was the biggest advantage).

After their visit of Station Square, the three of them moved to a new location. Korn said: "This is the opposite side of United Federation, and the sea beneath us was called the Indian Ocean..."

"From my perspective, it's just more water. Do people in this mortal world cared about these details that much?" Iru asked curiously.

"Of course, I believe it's like a common sense here."

"Very good, for a backwater planet it is, the human here definitely suits my taste better. Things need to be in order to work, no matter how insignificant it looks." Liquiir was weirdly satisfied by his own version of Earth. He was also quite interested with that 'chili dogs' food Beerus kept yearning about, however, unlike that man, Liquiir didn't want to look too desperate. In fact, he quietly decided to come back right after he successfully shook off those unwanted distractions Universe 7.

Back to the topic at hand.

For some reason, the turbulent in this area was pretty strong. It appeared to be a thunderstorm forming in the distance. The entire sky was covered by dark clouds, with thunder and lightnings struck the ocean beneath like crazy. The golden snakes danced with their full might, and for certain reason, that scene gave everyone in Universe 7 a subtle sense of familiarity.

And what happened next became more and more clear—that familiarity they felt was no simple imagination, but rather a reality they were assuming since yesterday's disappearance of the dragon balls.

Within a mere second, the dark clouds almost buried the entire heavens completely dissipated. So fast it was too stunning to react. Such drastic change of weather...there was no mistaking it. This has to be the . As if confirming everyone's suspicion, there was a faint sound of something 'vroom-ing' away above Korn, Liquiir and Iru's heads.

"? What was that just now?" Liquiir asked, looking at the clear sky dumbfounded.

"Let me check the record..." Korn quickly rewind the image back a few minutes. What emerged there was a sight familiar to everyone in Universe 7, but rather foreign to those from Universe 8.

"Oh my, it starts to look even more interesting now." Whis's amused by this sudden revelation while Beerus face palmed in the back.

All because the thing appeared on Korn's stuff—was a giant, green dragon.
