*sweeps away the cobwebs* Hello, anyone still here? Well, if you are, I have decided to finally finish a story I started over a DECADE ago. There is at least one more chapter and possibly an epilogue coming. To anyone still following this story and anyone who finds it anew, I hope you enjoy!

Chapter 14: Things
"Hmmm," Lois purred, "I suppose we could go back to my place." Suddenly, she frowned. "Except, I think Lucy brought Jason back there after school."
"Lois, there's no rush. If we need to wait until a better time, we can."
"No, she said firmly. "You know how you mentioned being the only one who remembers us being together? I would like that to no longer be the case. I'll call my sister."
Clark blushed. Lois was so forceful, like she was still a little mad at him underneath the clear desire to rip his clothes off. He listened as she called Lucy and couldn't help overhearing both sides of the conversation.
"Hey, Lucy. Are you back at the apartment with Jason?"
"Yep. When are you coming home tonight?
"Not right away. Could you cover dinner time tonight? I should be home in time to tuck him into bed."
"Sure thing. Have to work late?"
"Not exactly…let's just say that if your date is the closest to today, you win your bet with Ron."
Clark heard a loud squeal over the phone speaker as Lois pulled the phone away from her ear. Lucy's voice came back through in a lower pitch and volume. "I'll see you when you come home, Lois," she said slyly.
Clark looked at Lois puzzled. "What was that about?"
"I'll tell you later," Lois replied. She kissed him again. "How do we get to your place?"
SSSS
Lois landed on the roof of Clark's building in the arms of Superman. So this is how Clark gets everywhere so fast, she thought. The times he beat her to a story just by being the first on the scene were starting to make a lot more sense.
She looked over at him in his Superman suit. She was still struggling to see Clark when he was dressed this way, like putting on the suit and cape forced him to hide that part of himself automatically. He had said that she knew the real him, that the Clark she knew was who he was and Superman was only a part. It must be hard for him to hide himself from most people all of the time.
Part of her lingering anger faded into a kind of sadness. When Clark had taken away her memory of their time together, he had taken away what he thought was his only chance for her to know all of him. That didn't make it right, but it made her more certain of his motives.
Clark turned into a blur as he changed back into his work clothes. She would need to ask him how that all worked later. For now, her main clothing concern was getting them off.
Clark opened the roof access door and guided her to the elevator. As soon as the doors closed, she kissed him again before saying. "You know, I've never been to your apartment."
"To be honest, between the Planet and my…other job, I don't spend that much time there. It's mostly for sleeping, showering, and occasionally eating."
"Well, I think it's time to put it to some other use," she said coyly.
The elevator arrived at their floor, and Clark and Lois moved toward his door, kissing all the way. They stopped briefly for Clark to unlock the door, before practically tumbling into his small living room.
"Wow," Lois said looking around, "this place is small. You don't sleep in a single bed, do you?"
Clark laughed. "No, I have a very large bed. I'm not a small man, Lois."
Lois could feel the truth of that as he held her close; his large body pressed against hers, making her feel small in comparison. She pressed herself harder into him, her hands reached up and ran through his hair as she kissed his neck.
Clark pulled her away from him, his face serious. "Lois, are you sure you want to do this? Our relationship is still complicated. The last time we tried this, it ended in heartbreak and a child. Are you sure you don't want to talk through some things first?"
The last of Lois' anger left her. "You really are the Clark I love, aren't you? The only man I've ever met who would choose talking over sex."
Clark still looked concerned.
"Clark, I have never been more certain of anything else in my life. I love you, and I am never letting you go. I would like to show you how much I love you as soon as possible."
She felt Clark's hands lift her effortlessly and carry her into his bedroom.
