Happiness
Laughter rang out through the house as Clark Kent walked inside. He smiled knowing exactly what was going on. He sat his laptop bag on the floor and headed upstairs down the hallway to the master bedroom. In the bathroom, there sitting in the bathtub was his wife, Diana and daughter, Astrea. Astrea was getting a bath from her mother. The happy one year old squirmed splashing the water everywhere. She hit her hands against the water excitedly.
"Having fun?" Diana asked seated behind her.
"Princess always has fun. I know I've always enjoyed taking a bath with mommy," Clark said whispering the last part.
"Kal-El!" Diana exclaimed.
He laughed seeing Diana glaring at him and kneeled over the edge of bathtub.
"What? I'm just saying, Di." He kissed her sweetly. "I'm serious, once she goes to bed, you're all mine."
"You are relentless."
"I love you, too," he smirked.
"Dada!"
"How's my little girl?!"
"Dada, I play bubbies!"
Before he could say anything else, Clark was soaking wet. Astrea was holding the large cup her mother used to rinse the shampoo out of her hair. Diana bursted out laugh.
"Funny...real funny..." Clark picked Astrea up and began to tickle her. Astrea began to squeal with laughter.
"All clean?" He asked.
"Yes, Beloved," Diana answered as she stood up and wrapped a towel around her. "Her new pajamas are on the bed."
"Boo-fy!" Astrea exclaimed clapping her hands.
Clark laughed. "Yeah, you're our butterfly."
He wrapped a towel around her and carried her out the bathroom. Astrea was standing on the bed. She giggled covering her face with the towel.
Diana and Clark laughed.
"She's such a little character!"
"Yeah, she is! Come on, Princess, time to get dressed."
Astrea giggled again uncovering herself.
"Dada, I be boo-fy!" She started to levitate. "Boo-fy!" She then took off flying around the room.
"Astrea!" Clark and Diana gasped.
"Fy! Fy!" She laughed.
"Come here, sweetheart," Diana said trying to hold in her laughter.
"Mama, fy! Peek boo!"
Astrea disappeared.
"Our butterfly is more like a firecracker," Diana laughed as she tied her robe. "The only way we will get her dressed is to play the game."
Clark smiled shaking his head. "Yeah...yeah... I know...let's go."
"ρίξτε μια ματιά!" Diana said as the flew out their room.
"Ah boo!" They heard coming from the living room.
"This is much simpler than being in the fortress."
"Oh, our time at the fortress was quite an adventure." Diana raised her brow. "Sweetheart? Where are you?"
"Peek boo, mama!" Astrea giggled as she appeared in front of Diana but then disappeared again. "Peek boo, Dada!" She said as she appeared in front of him but quickly disappeared again.
"She's getting faster with understanding her ability."
"I don't know if I'm more proud or worried."
"Beloved, it's a bit of both."
Clark laughed. "Yeah it's both."
Astrea had her parents chasing her all over the house. Even at just the moment they were about to grab, her, she disappeared or flew faster.
"You are really finding this amusing, Princess."
Astrea giggled. "Peek boo, Dada! Mama!"
Clark and Diana were lead to the kitchen.
"Hmm...?"
"Di, it's been almost an hour. We've flown through the entire house and she's not even close to being tired."
"Well...she gets that from you given your solar energy and all. But I have an idea."
She opened the freezer and took out a pint of chocolate fudge ice cream.
"I guess it's just you and I beloved sharing this...ice cream."
Clark smirked. "Chocolate fudge one of Princess's favorites."
"Coco!" They heard a little excited voice behind them.
Astrea appeared standing on top of the counter.
"Coco ice ceam! Coco ice ceam!"
"She got this ice cream obsession clearly from you."
Diana put her hands on her hips. "Yes, she sure did. Is there a problem, Solarman?"
Clark laughed. "Not at all. I think it's really...sweet," he winked.
"You are such a goof."
"And you love it."
Clark grabbed Astrea, who was still laughing and giggling, finding this whole situation still very amusing. "Come here, Princess."
Clark put Astrea on her diaper and pajamas. He kissed her lovingly as any father would give to their daughter.
"Coco!"
"Here you go, little love," Diana said giving her a spoonful.
"Ice ceam! Ice ceam!"
"Alright, Little Love, not too much."
After eating a couple more spoonfuls, Astrea grinned, "All done!"
"How about we catch a movie? It's not too late and Astrea isn't going to sleep anytime soon."
"Moobie!"
"Ok, my Love. What do you have in mind?"
"Your choice, Di. I need a shower."
"You hear that, Little Love? You made your father almost break into a sweat?" She teased as she picked up Astrea and held her to her shoulder.
"Dada set!" Astrea grinned cuddling into Diana's shoulder. She squirmed slightly as she got comfortable.
"Wait..what? I don't sweat."
Diana raised her brow. "Oh really? Are you sure about that?"
He pondered for a moment. "Well that's under very, very...very different circumstances," he smirked and kissed her softly. "Be right back."
Diana hummed as she carried Astrea walking into the living room and sat on the sofa.
Sitting down, Diana adjusted Astrea in her arms so she was nestled down and she was looking down at her.
"You are the sweetest baby. Your father and I can't help but spoil you."
"Ah, Mama boo-fy too! Dada!"
"Yes, my little Love, we will always fly like the birds and butterflies. Free spirited, energetic, cheerful..."
Diana ran her fingers through Astrea hair as she always unconsciously did. Her jet black hair was thick, curly and wild.
"Doggy!" Astrea pointed at the TV seeing a dog.
"Hmm...Hashi? You want to watch that movie, sweetheart?"
"Doggy!"
"Then we'll watch this. Start as soon as-"
Diana suddenly felt a kiss on the crown of her head.
"Dada back!"
"Good pick, Princess. I've never seen it but heard years ago it was a great movie."
Clark sat on the sofa, leaning back against the corner. Diana leaned back against him with her head on his chest and Astrea still cradled in her arms.
They were all engaged with the movie. Although, not understanding what was being said, Astrea was excited to see the dog. Diana, however was on an emotional rollercoaster through out the entire movie. She had never been this emotional until she was pregnant with Astrea. She thought that maybe it was just a pregnancy phase, but she became even more emotional after Astrea was born.
By the end of the movie, she could no longer hold back her tears. She sniffles and tears uncontrollably rain down her cheeks unto Clark's shirt.
He looked down. "Di? What's wrong?"
Astrea looked up at Diana. "Mama?" She turned to her and placed her hands on Diana's face. "Mama cry?"
"I'm okay. It's just the movie got to me."
"Mama sad? It okay. It okay, Mama. No sad, Mama." Astrea tried wiping her tears with her little hands causing her mother's heart to melt. "No cry, Mama." Her little lip started to tremble, tears welling up in her eyes."
"Oh, my sweetheart. Really, I'm okay. It was just a really sad movie is all." Diana gave her a reassuring smile and kissed her forehead. She then looked up at Clark, who still had a worried look. "Darling, I'm fine." She reached up kissing him softly.
"Di..."
"Remember those times I had you stay up with me for those classic movie marathons, that was one of those moments," she smiled.
Clark smiled back and kissed her temple. "I love you so much."
"I love you, too," she said as she kissed him again.
"Mama?" Astrea hugged her and kissed her all over her face.
"Aw! Thank you, Little Love. Leave up to you and your father to be so protective of me. My loves."
"Of course, Diana. That's my job as your husband and Astrea's father. Protect and support both of you. And Astrea, our beautiful princess is our greatest gift."
Diana smiled. "She is..."
Astrea was the light of their lives. Everyone who met her instantly fell in love with her due to her charismatic and bubbly personality. The little girl was such a entertainer and had such a sweet soul that no one could ever say no to.
"I love you, sweetheart," Diana said kissing her cheek.
"Loove you!" Astrea grinned and clapped.
Astrea melted her parent's hearts even more. As Diana held Astrea tighter in her arms, Clark held both of them in his arms. Diana looked up at Clark, the two of them smiling at each other, speaking with their eyes, knowing their lives together with their daughter was filled with so much happiness.
