Freefall's first day of University begins with more information on earth, and making a new friend..planning a future for someone ;)
Freefall the medical student
April, Georgetown University...
Spring break was over, but excitement was renewed with a mysterious new student recommended by the dean himself joining them buzzed with the students. Even the exchange students from Venezuela were excited about this exciting event. With that the president walked up to the podium.
John B. Creeden: Fellow students. I hope you had a wonderful spring break. I you all have heard, we are having a new student join us today. Our dean has recommended him to our faculty and he will be joining our medical classes. Now, please give a warm welcome to our new friend!
The students clapped-only to be stunned silent as Freefall walked onto the stage. They were in awe seeing the Rusher, never seeing him before and only hearing about him from stories and information about him from others. He turned to the audience, the air of professionalism radiating from him.
Freefall: Hello, I am Freefall. I am the Seahawks Rusher from Cordalion, who is currently residing at the White House. I thank you all for this opportunity to further my knowledge of the medical field, and to get to know more about you and your planet.
He gave a curt nod, which prompted the students to applaud once again. The shock vanished at the Seahawks honest and kind words erased it.

Freefall: Mr. Creeden I can't thank you enough for this. Your university is beautiful.
Freefall was in the president of the university office after the ceremony.
John B. Creeden: It is a honor to have you join us Freefall. If you have any questions just let us know. All university have their own charm to it, so when it is warm and nice out students can study outside.
The door opened and a man walked in, giving a nod the president of the university let him in.
John B. Creeden: Freefall, this is George M. Kober, Dean of the Medical division of our campus. He is the one who saw your presentation.
George came over as the two shoke hands.
George M. Kober: It is a pleasure to finally meet you in person Freefall. I must say your presentation was a experience!
Freefall blushed a bit there.
Freefall: It sure-was an experience.
George M. Kober: I will be your dean during your education here. I will take you to your first class.
Freefall: Thank you sir-
George M. Kober: *smiles* Please. You can call me Dean George if you wish. Keep formalities but on a more friendly manner.
Freefall nodded as the Dean lead him out.
Few hours later...
Freefall was FULLY invested with all the classes, having to get a blank notebook to write down all the information. He was in his next class and was intrigued with the information on the illness on Earth, seeing how their was similar to the illnesses from Cordalion. However-now one thing was that was in his mind.
Professor:-And in recent discover it appears that the Winter months lessens the Spanish flu making it absent. Any questions? *Freefall raised his hand; to him* Yes?
Freefall: If i may ask; you seem to have experience before, at least gone through something similar in the past.
The professor nodded, the students going a bit closer as this was a question from a Rusher.
Professor: You are correct. The most common epidemic are from the illness the Smallpox. In the past fevers and viruses have decimated lives-HOWEVER, there IS ONE illness that has cause contrastafy throughout the world. THE BUBONIC PLAGUE.
The students shivered at the mention of the illness, Freefall could feel the room go cold.
Freefall: Bubonic Plague?
Professor: Yes. This illness is caused by a flea bite that sends bacteria in the blood, sputum and/or fluid in the lymph nodes. With how the world was back then there was a plenty of exposer, poor sanitation and the lack of proper health, which caused a increase of rats and dead animals which increased the fleas. Symptoms of the Bubonic Plague include fevers, headaches and vomiting. It haunted the 14th century as if not treated in ten days-death, and fifty million people were killed by that illness during that had happened three times in human history.
They all could see Freefall pale as he listened. He gulped shaking, sweating at the thought of those lives lost.
Freefall:-Shards of the core...I-Is there a cure now?
Professor: Before we had more means, cleaning and having a proper diet was helpful. We have been using several classes of antibiotics such as aminoglycosides which include streptomycin and gentamicin, tetracyclines which include doxycycline and fluoroquinolone ciprofloxacin. Treatment must be IMMEDIATE and the antibiotics must be given within the twenty four hours seeing the first symptom to prevent death. Oxygen, intravenous fluids and respiratory support is necessary.
A student rose his hand curious.
Student: What about those in contact with the inflected?
Professor: Those in contact will be given prophylactic antibiotics. Using these can dramatically fight against the bubonic plague within the twelve hours
Freefall:-How bad was the Spanish flu compared to the Bubonic Plague?
The professor thought on that for a moment.
Professor: It would be ranked-second.
Freefall got up there, he was pale as his eyes look sunken. He looked sick.
Freefall: Pardon me-I'll be right back.
Freefall walked out of the room-he had to cause he did not want to empty his stomach in front of class.
.
.
.
Professor: He's in here.
George thanked the professor as he went to check his students, who were worried on their fellow classmates. George knocked on the bathroom door.
George M. Kober: Freefall, are you okay?
He heard water running as the door opened up to a shaken Seahawk Rusher.
Freefall: M-My apologies.
George M. Kober: No need to apologies. The Black death is a hard topic to shallow.
He went down handing Freefall a glass of water, the Rusher thanking him as he slowly drank. They sat on the floor as Freefall calmed himself.
Freefall: I can't imagine how scary that must of been. I-I have seen many forms of death, bit-not like that.
George M. Kober: I take it-you have had experience, given you have a vast knowledge of of Rusherz health and body.
Freefall: *nods* Yeah. You see crazy stuff during war.
George M. Kober: Heh, know the feeling. Before i was Dean for the Medical school for Georgetown University, I was a surgeon in the U.S army from 1874 till i resigned in 1886. My mind was filled with worry upon many issues i noticed; how to purify water, to control pollution for those with lung illnesses, social hygiene and venereal diseases, and i could go on about tuberculosis and infant morality. I've written articles upon articles on these worried...To be honest, i know how it feels being new to a whole new place.
Freefall turned to him at this.
Freefall: Your not from the US?
George M. Kober: I was born in Alsfeld Hessen-Darmstadt Germany, which-to my worry- is in turmoil in morals. I can to this county when i was seventeen, and have been dedicated to serving my new home. *Turns to him with a smile* You are very passionate about your goals Freefall, on helping your friends and expanding your knowledge. That is something truly admirable.
Freefall smiled at this.
George M. Kober: In fact-I do believe we have a alumni would could be beneficial to you all in the future.
Freefall: Oh?
George M. Kober: Yes. Very passionate man of sports. He won the AAU welterweight belt back in 1928 and even recently tried for the Olympic team this year. He has express a desire to bring, and i quote, 'some action to Pittsburgh', where he lives..mainly a football team.
Freefall contemplated on this-then he knew the PERFECT Rusher for this.
Freefall: Dean George, mind helping em arrange a meeting It might be a while to make this wish come true, but i know a certain fiery steel wielder who might help.
3:45, White house...
Freefall landed on the ground smiling as the others ran over.
Liberty: So-How was it?
Freefall: Very informative. I will admit there were some-bumps-but it was a good first day. The dean of the medical wing George is a good man, gave me some advice.
The Rusherz were happy that the Seahawk first day had gone well. Freefall saw Blow-Torch and walked over taking out a piece of paper.
Blow-Torch: What's this?
Freefall: The dean and I talked and it was discovered that there's a man who has big plans for his hometown Pittsburgh.
Blow-Torch looked at the paper with a address and number, reading it out loud.
The message at the very top read this-
YOU WANT TO MAKE A TEAM WITH ME FOR YOUR SHARD? ART ROONEY.
Blow-Torch: Art Rooney eh?
Art is planning to meet Blow-Torch, though the team would not form till a few years later-just you wait on their meeting ;).
