Aizawa Shota noticed a boy sneaking around the corner into an alleyway as they waited for the Entrance Exam to start. Switching cameras to the alley, he watched the boy shrug off the green sweatshirt he was wearing. From his shadow rose a prepubescent girl, blonde hair and golden eyed, lunged forwards, latching onto his neck like she was a vampire from some old creature feature.
"Nezu, we got something strange going on on camera six," he reported, Nezu brought it up on the main screen. The girl practically lay across his back, a sucking sound coming across.
"What the-? Who is that?" Snipe said.
"I don't know," Nezu said, a strained smile on his mouth as he said it, "Keep an eye on them while I search for anything about her."
The girl popped off the applicant, and Aizawa noted the immediate change in her. From a kid who'd probably be bothering somebody about the newest toy to an older teen who was straining her clothes to their limits with how much she changed. Adding to the strangeness, she just sank into his shadow, almost like she never was there.
"Power Loader," Nezu said sharply, "Play that again, without any filters."
Power Loader did so, everyone's eyes widening. The girl they had all been looking at had vanished from sight on the replay, and the boy became transparent, like an underdeveloped photo.
"What the hell was that?" Shouta asked, and the boy flickered and disappeared, reappearing in the main thoroughfare.
"Found him," Midnight said, "Midoriya Izuku."
"Thank you," Nezu said, "that led to me finding something, Oshino Shinobu, adoptive child of the Midoriya Family. But how did she get here, and what were they doing?"
"Should we disqualify him?" Shouta asked.
"Let's see what he does first," Nezu said, "I'll keep an eye on him, you watch the other applicants."
—
Izuku couldn't even say he blurred forwards, moving at speeds that made most speed Quirks look like molasses fired slugs in comparison. He drove his fist into the first robot, two things happening at once.
Both the robot and his arm crumpled like paper, bones jutting out of his arm and, along with boney fragments, tearing through his sweatshirt. Pulling his arm back, it was like a glitch, his bones retreating into his arms as the fragments and blood disintegrated and filled in the arm. Even the sweatshirt repaired itself, light blue fabric weaving itself together until there hasn't been any sign of him being injured in the first place.
Then he blitzed over to another, driving his fingertips into a seam in the robot's build, breaking several as he did, and tore it in two, fingers regenerating all the while. Izuku continued to tear down the thoroughfare, shattering the robots and his body equally without any hesitation. Finally, a robot managed to barely catch his arm in its claw, and Izuku jumped back, muscles, bones and ligaments protesting for just a second before it tore at the elbow. The limb in the robot's hand crumbled as a new one appeared on Izuku's arm in a tide of blood.
—
Nezu frowned as his eyes alternated between the adoption report and Midoriya Izuku destroying his body only to regenerate completely fresh limbs and even his clothes, normally by the damage literally reversing itself but occasionally an entire new limb in a flow of blood.
There was no doubt about it in Nezu's eyes, that boy and girl were Oddities, and not just any Oddities, Vampires.
But it didn't make sense. There weren't enough missing persons reports starting from when Shinobu, if that was even her real name, had been adopted to support one vampire, let alone two. How were they surviving? And why had the boy let Shinobu drink his blood before the exam? That should have made him weaker.
The boy at least tried to hide it as his Quirk, a late blooming one that came with super strength, regeneration and mobility enhancements, but he couldn't even find a Quirk registry entry for Shinobu.
Nezu didn't like it, Oddities always wanted something, and it was rarely good. Still, he pulled up reports for the other students at Aldera High. The most obvious Oddity was a girl with bushy eyebrows and bandages wrapped around her left arm, (Kanbaru Sugura, Quirk, Jump), who was trying for General Studies. But the other three, he couldn't tell at a look if they even knew Oddities existed. One was a purple haired girl (Senjougahara Hitagi, Quirk, Pocket Dimension) currently destroying robot's eyes with flung scissors in another testing ground, another was a blond haired boy (Bakugo Katsuki, Quirk, Explosion) blowing robots to pieces in his and the last was a brown haired, glasses wearing girl (Hanekawa Tsubasa) who was also going for General Studies.
"Kayama," Nezu said, addressing Midnight, "Can you please bring Midoriya Izuku to my office when the exam is done? I have some questions for him."
—
Izuku walked out of the bus to meet Hitagi, taking her hand in his and intertwining their fingers. Normally, such an action would be a faux pass in the touch adverse world of Japan, but he knew Hitagi was particularly touch starved and enjoyed any sign of physical affection Izuku would give.
"Midoriya," Izuku looked over as Kayama Nemuri, better known as the 18-Heroine Midnight, called his name. She approached, looking confused and concerned, "The Principal would like to talk to you."
Izuku looked at Hitagi, who simply gripped his hand slightly harder, "Only if Hitagi can come with me."
"Hitagi?" Midnight said, eyebrows raising before she nodded, "fine, if that's what you want, I don't think the principal will say no."
They walked into UA, passing Bakugo as they did, Izuku fished out his phone and sent a text to Kanbaru and Hanekawa to go on without them. Taking several staircases, they eventually came to the principal's office. Midnight gestured for them to go in, before shutting the door behind them, leaving the two alone with the Principal, a small, ermine animal with a scar over one eye.
"Hello," Izuku said politely, and the Principal, Nezu, nodded.
"Are you certain you want your girlfriend here for this Midoriya? It might result in certain uncomfortable truths coming out."
"I'm certain," Izuku said, "Hitagi knows all about me."
"Including the face that you're a Vampire?" Nezu responded, and Izuku gave a grin that let his fangs show slightly.
"UA really is the best," Izuku praised, "What gave it away?"
"You barely showed up on our cameras, and after we turned off filters, Miss Oshino disappeared entirely from them. I can only assume you're only part one?"
"Something like that," Izuku said as Shinobu rose from his shadow.
"May I ask who exactly she actually is, and how you relate to each other?"
"Meet Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade," Izuku said, causing the Principal to choke on his tea "The Iron Blooded Hot Blooded Cold Blooded Vampire."
"The Oddity Killer?" Nezu said in clear horror, "but… How? She's-"
"I am what, Ermine?" Shinobu asked.
"You've been missing for nearly a year," Nezu finished.
"I have been bound to Izuku for nearly that time, yes."
"Bound, how does one bind a vampi-? Unless… You didn't, Midoriya," Nezu said aghast, "The reason you seem so human, the reason she takes the form of a child… You drained her, not enough to kill her, but enough to cripple her, didn't you?"
"Yes," Izuku said.
A slight chuckle rose from Nezu's throat, growing louder and louder until he was cackling with laughter, completely ignoring the irate twitching from Shinobu at someone laughing over her predicament, "You really are a monster, aren't you, Midoriya?"
Izuku didn't bother denying it, just staring at Nezu as he continued to logic it out.
"And that's why there's been no deaths, she can only drink from you, and you don't need to drink… ah, it's a solution so perfect it borders on evil. Certainly inhumane. I should kill you for it right now, if I'm honest, to turn the most powerful Oddity into your pet."
"Try it and you die, Ermine," Shinobu hissed, hands forming into claws, while Hitagi rose a pair of scissors from under her skirt.
"Nobody is allowed to kill Izuku but me," she said lowly.
"Oh, you're all distorted and twisted," Nezu laughed, "all three of you. I do hope you two get into UA, I want to see how this goes."
