Freefall gets the chance to use what he has learn so far from Georgetown University when Freedom falls ill.
First Patient
September 1, 1921; Canton, Ohio ...
It was a cloudy day in Canton, the rain storm slowly approaching the city.
Freedom swayed as he walked besides Chief and Arrow-Head to work; pale in skin, in a cold sweat and a massive headache plaguing him.
Chief: *concern* Are you sure your alright going to work?
Arrow-Head: *concern* Yeah, your looking really pale and your eyes are watery.
Freedom: *stuffy* J-Just the chills I think. Not a fan of the headaches or tears though.
That got them both worried as they reached the entrance, the man opening the grounds for the day stopping upon seeing the Patriot Rusherz' condition.
Man: *concern* Freedom, you don't look so good. You want me to ask the boss to give you a day off?
Freedom was about to answer, but when he turned his head...his vision shoke and swam as the world spun around, before darkness consumed him.
Bit later, Georgetown University...
Freefall was writing down notes for the next semester, the sounds of rain hitting the window.
Teacher: *opens door* Freefall, you have a phone call from Canton Ohio.
Freefall: *confused* Canton?
.
.
Freefall walked into the Dean's office, George handing him the phone as Freefall gave him a thankful smile.
Freefall: *brings phone up* Hello?...*worried* Chief?
George worries grew as Freefall sat down.
Freefall: *on the phone* Easy Chief...Okay, can you tell me whats wrong...okay...okay...*worried* Oh dear.
George M. Kober: Is something wrong?
Freefall: *lowers phone a bit* Freedom collapsed at work, looks like he's caught something.
George nodded in understanding as Freefall brought the phone back up, taking out one of his books and opening it.
Freefall: *on the phone* Okay, can you tell me the symptoms. I have my research here so we will be able to pin point what it is...*reads book;listens* Suffering from headaches and watery eyes got it...He sounded stuffy as well, been coughing and sneezing after you brought him back, i see. *stops at a paragraph* Chief is his throat sore?...Arrow-Head is checking right now, got it. While he's checking did he wake up?...-relieved sigh- Oh good, that's good to hear he's awake, also he mentioned his body aches a bit, good to know...Arrow-Head says his throat is irritated?...Alright, one more thing, has he eaten anything today?...No, wasn't hungry at all...*nods* Alright Chief, have an answer. Freedom is suffering from a common cold called Rhinovirus, it is not fatal but it normally last for one to two weeks, so he's going to be out for a while...Treatments?..*reads* There is medicine for it, best way to get better is getting bed rest and drinking alot of fluid...You, want me to come back?...One moment please...*brings phone down;looks at George* Excuse me Dean George, but is it alright if I head home to help Freedom?
The dean gave him a warm smile as he nodded.
Dean George: Of course, your classes do not start until later this month. This is your first non-serious emergency patient, not to mention this will be a perfect test on the skills you have been honing in here. Please, keep me posted though and tell Freedom I hope he gets well soon.
Freefall smiled as he brought the phone back up.
Freefall: *on the phone* Yeah, I'm back, the Dean gave me the okay to return home. I'll be there as soon as I can, need to get the right items.
Afternoon; Canton Ohio, Hotel...
The sound of rain was heard. Freedom sneezed as he tried to warm himself up with a blanket, Chief checking his temperature once again.
Arrow-Head: Any changes?
Chief: *shakes his head* No, but that's a good thing too.
Talon: *sits next to Freedom* Yeah, really hope Freefall is alright-
KNOCK KNOCK
Freefall's voice: You guys in here?
Arrow-Head: Yeah! We're here!
The door opened as Freefall walked in, bag in hand and a gentle smile on his face. Talon lept and hugged him fast.
Talon: Scared me for a while there.
Freefall: Sorry, needed to get some items before coming here.
Talon broke the hug nodded as Freefall went over to Freedom, placing a hand on the Patriot's forehead.
Freedom: *scratchy;shaky smile* W-Welcome back Freefall.
Freefall: *warm smile;gentle* Happy to be back, but wish you didn't have to get sick.
Freedom: *scratchy* Sorry If i made you come home early.
Freefall: *shakes his head; gentle* Everyone understood why though, not to mention my classes do not start till later this month. My Dean hopes you get well soon, so I'm doing my job and helping you get better fast.
Freedom gave a sniff as Freefall set the bag down and started taking items out.
Beast: *pokes head in* Freefall, ya back? Thought I heard you in here.
Freefall: *looks over* Yeah, I'm back Beast. And perfect timing on your end, going to need your help.
Beast: *walks in* Sure thing, but what could i do?
Freefall picked up a cylinder, tossing it to Beast as the Lion grew more curious.
Freefall: Bouillon cubes, these squares are used to make broth; which is helpful for someone who is suffering from Rhinovirus. I was wondering if you could cook a broth for him.
Beast slowly smiled as he looked over the cylinder of cubes.
Beast: I actually was able to bring home some vegetables from work, order accidentally had extras in it. I remember when you were reading for one of your test, I looked over and saw that Vegetable can help with this illness too. 'Feed a cold, starve a fever' the saying goes, given it's a cold illness he will be able to eat.
Freefall smiles grew hearing that Beast remembered some of his studying when he was home.
Beast: Not to mention, just learned how to make this at work too; So I can also make this for dinner tonight.
The others smiled in interest on the meal for the evening.
Talon: Will say that does sound really good. Not to mention it sounds like the perfect meal for a rainy day.
Arrow-Head: Yeah, really want to try this new dish you learned from work.
Chief: Would you like some help.
Beast nodded as the three, giving smiles and comforting pats on Freedom's back, headed out the door. Freefall smile went gentle again as he took out a bottle, cracking it open and helping Freedom take a drink.
Freedom: *scratchy* -sighs- That-That really helped there, what is that?
Freefall: Ginger Ale, it's a drink that can also be used in cooking. This is a tide-me-over till dinner.
Freedom: *scratchy* Got it...Thank you for coming back Freefall.
Freefall gentle smile warmed as he helped Freedom up.
Freefall: Happy to be here. Let's get you comfortable, your going to need all the rest you can get.

Liberty and Stampede were the last to arrive to the hotel, evening hitting as the rain continued to fall.
Both stopped in place seeing Beast walking to the stairs with a tray.
Liberty: *curious* Beast, what's that?
Beast: *stops* Hmmm...Oh! This is for Freedom, poor guy caught an illness called Rhinovirus, Some type of cold. We called Georgetown University and Freefall was able return here to help him.
Both Rusherz winced hearing the Patriot Rusher had gotten sick.
Stampede: *concern* Oh my heart goes out to him...Rhinovirus, that's a new one.
Beast: I'm happy we got names to these aliments and illnesses, it was hard to treat them without knowledge on which one it was.
Liberty: *nods with Stampede* Very true. So, their upstairs?
...
Freefall: *smiles;wraps blanket around* And there we go, nice and cozy for when it's time to hit the hey.
Freedom gave a weak smile as he laid in bed, warm cloths on and propped up as well.
Freefall: And in a comfortable position too, so you'll be able to sleep and not cough up your lungs.
Freedom: *scratchy* Thanks Freefall.
KNOCK KNOCK!
Beast's voice: Freefall, Freedom, I got your meals ready. Also Liberty and Stampede are back.
Freefall: *bit loud* Come in.
The door opened as Beast walked in, Liberty and Stampede pausing for a moment seeing the sickly Patriot Rusher.
Liberty: *concern* Oh man buddy, you got hit hard.
Freedom: *scratchy* Yeah, Freefall said I'm going to be out for a while. Also scared the staff when they heard what I got, apparently this illness is highly contagious to humans.
Freefall: Had to explain to them that we Rusherz do not have the ability to spread illnesses, downside being we get hit even harder when we do get sick. *beast sets the tray down* Thank you so much Beast.
Beast: Happy to help, everyone is getting their own downstairs. Hoping this helps you with your Rhinovirus Freedom.
Freedom nodded as he took his bowl and spoon, taking a bit and slowly smiling.
Freedom: *scratchy* So good.
Stampede: *curious* New dish you just learned?
Beast: *nods* And right time too, broth is said to help with cold-related illnesses. Cut up some vegetables and got a great dish for a rainy and/or sick day.
Liberty: *smiles* Well i can't wait to try it when we get downstairs.
Freefall smiled, though Freedom's grew bigger when he took a sip of his drink.
Freedom: *scratchy* I remember this taste, peppermint tea.
Freefall: *to Beast* Good choice of drink there, peppermint tea is said to also help with sore throats.
Freedom: *scratchy* I really like this too.
..Beast's ear twitched at that in interest.
Beast: *intrigued* You do?
Freedom: *scratchy* Yeah, since that December I really come to love this type of tea. It's so soothing.
Beast: *intrigued* Very good to know.
Freefall smiled as he started to eat his meal too, with Liberty and Stampede sitting down for a small chat with them.

Night had fallen at last, the rain gently falling onto the street as Freefall sighed in content.
Freefall: You know, I think i will like rainy days here.
He turned to the bed where Freedom was. The Patriot Rusher had fallen asleep, broth and drinks gone on the tray. Talon had also returned, sleeping in the bed across from him. Freefall hummed as he walked over, taking the tray off and bringing the cover up a bit more.
Freefall:...I, can get use to doing this. Dean George is going to be happy to know this has been a huge help for me. *brushes Freedom's head* For now, my main focus is getting you better with rest. So you get all the rest you need Freedom, -chuckles- Doctor's orders.
Freedom made a small smile as he slept, Freefall smiling warmly was he turned off the light. The only sounds now were quiet snores, and the gentle rain fall outside.
