86. Chapter 85

Chapter 85: CatNap Vs Icky Licky: The Source Of The Red Smoke

CatNap and DogDay out in the evening hour while the sun slowly sets were running to find one of Simon's friends that he sent out to find them first. CatNap was still in an angry mood, which worried DogDay after the two critters made up.

"Hey, CatNap, I think you should calm down before you–" DogDay said,

"--I don't wanna talk to you right now." CatNap said, interrupting DogDay, "I just wanna focus on Simon or one of his friends."

DogDay sighed.

"Damn it…" He said, still worried,

Then, Icky was there and stepped in CatNap and DogDay's way.

"Looking for Baba, aren't you?" Icky asked CatNap,

"What did you do to her?!" CatNap shouted for a response of his own, "Tell me!"

Icky chuckled a bit.

"Nothing." He replied,

"Don't bullshit me!" CatNap shouted, "I know you, Simon and the other two kidnapped her!"

"What?! Kidnapping Baba Chops?! How could we?!"

Icky chuckled.

"Something is up about Icky…" DogDay wondered, "Is he… mind controlled? Who could mind control someone that was kidnapped twice?"

CatNap clenched his teeth as he tried to hold back from attacking Icky.

"You better tell me what happened to Baba…" He said, "Or I'm gonna hurt you, bad."

"Oh no…" DogDay said, worried,

Icky chuckled.

"You wanna know?" He asked CatNap, "Huh? Alright, I'll tell you, but you gotta beat me in a duel to do so."

CatNap heard the word, "Duel" and sighed heavily.

"Fine." He said as he got out his Duel Disk, "It's a good thing I always bring my Duel Disk."

"Everyone always says that, you know?" Icky said to him as he revealed his Duel Disk, "But yeah, I can't wait to break you."

"Not if I break you first…"

"Whoever breaks the other first wins the duel. That's my rule, so you better follow along."

CatNap activated his Duel Disk, but this time, he was silent.

"Not another word?" Icky wondered, "Alright then!"

Icky activated his Duel Disk as well.

"Duel!" Both CatNap and Icky shouted,

Turn 1

CatNap: 4000

Icky Licky: 4000

CatNap looked down at his hand and then at Icky with a cold and hungry stare.

"A saying goes, "When things break, things shatter…"" CatNap said before he shouted at Icky, "Which is what I'm gonna do to your fucking brain!"

CatNap played a Spell Card vigorously.

"I activate Branded Fusion!" He shouted,

"Oh no, he already lost it…" DogDay said, worried,

CatNap then revealed Fallen Of Albaz and a new monster from his Deck.

"I'll be using Fallen Of Albaz and Guiding Queen, The Virtuous from my Deck as Fusion Materials!" He shouted as he sends his cards to the Graveyard,

"Starting off with a Fusion Summon, huh?" Icky asked him,

"Shut it and let me continue!"

Fallen Of Albaz and Guiding Queen, The Virtuous were used as Fusion Materials under Branded Fusion.

"I Fusion Summon, Albion The Branded Dragon!" CatNap shouted,

Albion The Branded Dragon was Fusion Summoned in Attack Position with 2500 ATK Points.

"He didn't chant for Albion?" DogDay wondered,

"Now, when Albion is Fusion Summoned, I can Fusion Summon another Level 8 or lower Fusion Monster by banishing monsters from my hand, field or Graveyard!"

CatNap revealed Fallen Of Albaz from his Graveyard and Despian Tragedy from his hand.

"I'm gonna Fusion Summon again with Fallen Of Albaz from my Graveyard and Despian Tragedy from my hand!" He replied as they were banished from his hand for another Fusion Summon, "This time, I Fusion Summon, Masquerade The Blazing Dragon!"

As Fallen Of Albaz and Despian Tragedy were used as Fusion Materials for another Fusion Summon under the effect of Albion The Branded Dragon, Masquerade The Blazing Dragon was Fusion Summoned in Attack Position with 2500 ATK Points as well.

"This is where I shatter your mind…" CatNap said with an evil look,

"Oh really?" Icky wondered,

"Don't toy me with your attitude. Now, when Despia Tragedy is banished by a card effect, I can add a Despia monster from my Deck to my hand."

CatNap added Aluber The Jester Of Despia from his Deck to his Hand and then set a card in his Spell and Trap Zone, leaving him with 3 cards left in his hand.

"I'll set a card and end my turn." He said as he did a taunt with his two fingers, "Bring it."

"Very well!" Icky said as he drew a card to start Turn 2, "I draw!"

Icky looked at his hand of 6 and smiled.

"Break my mind like that, huh?" He said to himself, "I'll break your mind, but slowly. Because you know what they say? Slow and steady wins the race, but in my game, I'm only using that life lesson to my own advantage."

Icky revealed a monster.

"I'm sacrificing your two dragons to give you this monster!" He shouted, "Lava Golem!"

"What the?!" CatNap shouted,

Albion The Branded Dragon and Masquerade The Blazing Dragon were tributed for Lava Golem to be Special Summoned onto CatNap's field in Defense Position with 2500 DEF Points. CatNap was in the cage Lava Golem had chained around its neck and didn't flinch from the heat Lava Golem radiates.

"Teh, no problem…" CatNap said,

"It is a problem, CatNap!" DogDay hollered,

CatNap turned to DogDay.

"How can you tell?" He asked him,

"During your Standby Phase, you take 1000 points of damage since you have Lava Golem in your control!" DogDay replied,

CatNap chuckled.

"I'll get rid of Lava Golem before I shred Icky's mind to pieces…" He said, "Just watch…"

DogDay sighed heavily.

"Damn it, CatNap…" He said, almost emotional, "What happened to you?"

Icky chuckled.

"Of course, I can't Normal Summon or Set the turn I Special Summon Lava Golem." He said, "Which is fine, because I can do this!"

Icky activates a Quick-Play Spell.

"I activate Spright Starter!" He shouted, "Which lets me Special Summon a Spright monster from my Deck to my field and take damage equal to that Special Summoned monster's original ATK Points!"

Icky then Special Summoned Spright Blue from his Deck onto his field in Attack Position with 1100 ATK Points, but Icky had to take 1100 points of damage via Spright Starter afterwards, leaving him with 2900 Life Points.

"And that will be Spright Blue!" He said,

"So you already know what the effect of my Masquerade does, huh?" CatNap asked him,

"Nah, I just didn't wanna deal with your Fusion Dragon bullshit."

CatNap slowly chuckled like a psychopath.

"Pathetic." He replied,

"Anyways!" Icky shouted, "When Spright Blue is Special Summoned, I can add a Spright monster from my Deck to my Hand!"

Icky then adds Spright Jet from his Deck to his Hand via Spright Blue's effect and revealed it.

"And that will be Spright Jet for me to Special Summon since I have a Level 2 monster on my field!" He said,

Spright Jet was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 1300 ATK Points.

"And when Jet is Special Summoned, I can add a Spright Spell or Trap this time!" Icky said as he does so, adding Spright Gamma Burst from his Deck to his Hand, "Now, I will create a Link Circuit to take control of the game!"

"A Link Summon?!" DogDay said, shocked,

The Link Circuit appeared.

"The summoning conditions for this Link Summon are 2 monsters, including a Level 2, Rank 2 or a Link-2 monster, which is why I have both Spright Blue AND Spright Jet on my field!" Icky said, "So those two will be used as Link Materials!"

Spright Blue and Spright Jet were used as Link Materials for a Link Summon as they went to the Bottom Left and Bottom Right Link Arrows of the Link Circuit, lighting them up.

"Link the circuit!" Icky shouted, "I Link Summon, Link-2, Spright Elf!"

Spright Elf was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 1400 ATK Points.

"Now for Spright Elf's effect!" Icky said, "Which lets me Special Summon a Level 2 monster in my Graveyard during the Main Phase! So come back, Spright Blue!"

Spright Blue was Special Summoned onto the field in Attack Position again.

"Now, I overlay my Spright Blue and Spright Elf together to build the Overlay Network!" Icky shouted,

"What?!" DogDay shouted, "You're Xyz Summoning with a Link Monster as material?!"

"Just watch and find out, and yes, I'm treating a Link-2 monster as a Level 2 monster for this Xyz Summon!"

The Overlay Network formed as Spright Blue and Spright Elf were used as Xyz Materials.

"When two sparks come together, a more powerful spark forms and wrecks havoc!" Icky chanted, "Xyz Summon!"

A giant being made out of spark formed from the Xyz Summon.

"Crank up the extreme pressure of your electrical bolts, Rank 2, Gigantic Spright!" Icky shouted,

Gigantic Spright was Xyz Summoned in Attack Position with 3200 ATK Points.

"And his ATK Points doubled since I used a Link Monster as Xyz Material!" Icky shouted,

"So that's why you used Spright Elf as Xyz Material!" DogDay said,

CatNap smirked.

"So, are you gonna attack your own Lava Golem you gave me?" He asked him,

"Nah!" Icky replies as he sets 2 cards in his Spell and Trap Zone, leaving him with 3 cards in his hand, "I'll set 2 and pass it to ya."

"Heh, figures… You know how to test my patience."

CatNap draws to start Turn 3.

Turn 3

CatNap: 4000

Icky Licky: 2900

"Now since we're about to enter the Standby Phase, you take 1000 points of damage from my Lava Golem!" Icky shouted,

The heat of Lava Golem increases as CatNap took 1000 points of damage from it, draining his Life Points to 3000. He groaned in pain.

"CatNap!" DogDay said, "Are you ok?"

"I'm fine…" CatNap replied, "But I don't care about getting hurt in this duel… I care about hurting that asshole in front of me…"

CatNap looked at Icky with one of his eyes twitching.

"And I'm not saying that as a threat." He said as he lost it, "I'm saying it for real."

Icky chuckled again.

"Your threats in my game ain't gonna help ya win, buddy!" He said,

"Oh, you think this is funny, huh?!" CatNap shouted, "I'll show you who's laughing when I shove my fist down your fucking throat after this duel! And I'm gonna prove it to you, now!"

CatNap then showed Masquerade The Blazing Dragon from his Graveyard.

"I activate Masquerade The Blazing Dragon's effect!" He said, "Which lets me Special Summon him from my Graveyard if you control a Fusion, Synchro, Xyz or Link Monster!"

Masquerade The Blazing Dragon was Special Summoned back onto the field in Attack Position again.

"Unfortunately, I lost his Fusion Summoned effect, which I don't care about." CatNap said as he then switched Lava Golem to Attack Position with 3000 ATK Points, "Now, I switch the Lava Golem you gave me to Attack Position."

"Ha!" Icky said, "You can't touch my Gigantic Spright! He's still stronger than your gifted Lava Golem and Masquerade The Blazing Dragon!"

"Not if I have some cards to help me out!"

"What cards?"

"First, I summon this guy!"

A different version of Fallen Of Albaz was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 1800 ATK Points.

"Albaz The Ashen!" CatNap said, "And while on the field, he is treated as Fallen Of Albaz!"

"Uhhh, ok?!" Icky said, confused

"Next, I reveal my face-down card, the Trap Card, Branded Banishment!"

Branded Banishment was activated.

"This lets me Special Summon a Despia or a Level 8 or higher Fusion Monster from my Graveyard and then Fusion Summon another monster by banishing Fusion Materials from either field!" CatNap said,

"You're not gonna banish my Gigantic Spright, aren't ya?!" Icky shouted,

"No, this is where the pain comes into place… I'm bringing back my Albion The Branded Dragon!"

Albion The Branded Dragon was Special Summoned back onto the field in Attack Position again.

"Next, I'm banishing my Albaz The Ashen treated as Fallen Of Albaz and Albion The Branded Dragon as Fusion Materials!" CatNap shouted,

Under the effect of Branded Banishment, Albaz The Ashen, treated as Fallen Of Albaz and Albion The Branded Dragon were banished as Fusion Materials for another Fusion Summon.

"Unleash your crystallized rage and roar the pain at my foes with your blades of ice!" CatNap chanted, "Fusion Summon! Mirrorjade The Iceblade Dragon!"

Mirrorjade The Iceblade Dragon was Fusion Summoned in Attack Position with 3000 ATK Points. It roared as Icky wasn't concerned.

"Heh, you still have that Lava Golem I gifted ya and you didn't use him as Fusion Material, huh?" Icky asked him,

"SHUT UP!" CatNap shouted with rage, "I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOU TALKING OVER ME!"

Icky laughed a bit.

"Oh, that slaps me on the knee!" He said,

Then, Icky heard CatNap breathing heavily.

"Oh, what's this?" Icky wondered,

Icky then noticed red smoke coming out of CatNap's mouth upon exhaling. Icky smirked.

"It looks like I've finally broken ya first." He said,

"What are you talking about?!" CatNap shouted,

CatNap then noticed something was off. He was still breathing heavily under his rage, but something feels different when exhaling. He looked down and noticed the red smoke he was exhaling, which caught him off guard.

"Wh-What the?!" He shouted, "What the hell is going on?!"

DogDay was concerned.

"CatNap…" He said, "Shit, I tried to tell you, but I didn't want to anger you about it…"

CatNap slowly started to panic.

"Oh my God…" He said, "This… This can't be happening to me!"

Icky chuckled.

"You…" CatNap said as he had tears in his eyes, "WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?!"

"Me?" Icky wondered, "I didn't do shit to make you exhale red smoke. However…"

Icky smirked again.

"We know the CatNap in this world has red smoke." He said, "The same one used to help people fall asleep. It took him 18 years to get to it, but here we are. And despite a sacrifice, The Hour Of Joy and your nightmares fucking you up, we managed to get the red smoke out of you. And all it took was your emotions."

CatNap started to panic more. The red smoke kept exhaling while breathing in a panicking mood continued to stress him.

"No, no, NO!" He shouted, "I can't!"

CatNap got to his knees and started to break down. Icky chuckled menacingly again.

"You monster!" DogDay said as he walked over to Icky, "What did you do to him?!"

"Didn't you hear what I just said?!" Icky shouted, "I didn't do shit to him!"

"He's right, DogDay…" CatNap said while breaking down into tears, "He's not the monster… I am…"

DogDay was surprised.

"No…" He said,

"He is!" Icky replied, "He's the source of the red smoke! Just like any other CatNap in different worlds involving him!"

CatNap couldn't focus on the duel. He took off his Duel Disk and continued to break down. This showed that CatNap surrendered the duel to Icky, making him the winner of the duel.

"Oh, and look at that!" Icky said, "I've managed to win the duel through a mental breakdown!"

"Come on, that's fucked up!" DogDay shouted at Icky, "What's wrong with you?!"

"Ehhh, nothing is wrong with me."

DogDay tried to fight, but he couldn't do so as he then focused on CatNap. He went over to try and get him up, but CatNap slapped his hand away.

"GET AWAY!" CatNap shouted,

"H-Hey, I was trying to help!" DogDay shouted,

"I DON'T NEED HELP FROM YOU! I'M A FUCKING MONSTER!"

CatNap got up and ran off.

"CATNAP, WAIT!" DogDay shouted as he tried to stop him, but CatNap again resisted, causing DogDay to slowly tear up, "...Fuck… Not again…"

Icky smirked as he turned back.

"Welp, my work here is done." He said,

"N-No!" DogDay shouted with tears in his eyes, "Get back here, you son of a bitch!"

Icky fully turned and walked away. As DogDay tried to run over to him with a fist up in the air, something stopped him. Confused, he turned to see who stopped him from bringing out violence, it was CraftyCorn. Bobby was there as well.

"DogDay, stop!" CraftyCorn shouted as she was about to cry, "Please!"

Seeing CraftyCorn and Bobby again, DogDay lowered his fist and started to tear up. He then hugged CraftyCorn.

"I'm sorry!" DogDay shouted with sorrow, "I'm so sorry for what I've done!"

"I'm sorry too!" CraftyCorn shouted with sorrow as well, "I shouldn't have yelled at you, but I had to do it to get you to realize your mistake!"

Bobby sniffed as she too was getting emotional. Even though DogDay made up with everyone but Baba, the damage was done.

Icky meanwhile was on his way back as he called Simon on the phone.

"Yes, Simon, it is done." He said with a smirk, "Our world's CatNap is the source of the red smoke after all… …Eh? What else do you have in mind? …Oh yeah… Here, tell me later. I gotta take a bus back to Sunshine Valley."

Icky hangs up and went on his way.
