Taking Dumbledore's fireplace to the Leaky Cauldron, Harry was greeted by Sirius who was sitting there waiting for them patiently.
"Let's go shall we?" Dumbledore said.
Making their way down Diagon Alley and to Gringotts, Harry could feel everyone staring at the group, whether they were staring at Sirius who they had previously thought was a mass killer or at Harry, the newly proclaimed Chosen 1, Harry had no clue. Entering Gringotts, Harry held Cho's hand as they made their way to the head goblin.
"It is good to see you Riptide," Dumbledore said to the Head Goblin.
"Likewise Dumbledore," the Goblin replied, observing the group, his eyes especially drawn to Lupa who was on Harry's shoulder.
"May I know why there is a wolf cub with you all today?" he asked, "Gringotts have a no-pets policy."
"This wolf cub isn't a normal wolf," Dumbledore replied, "it is an offspring of the wolf pack in the Forbidden Forest, its intelligence matches that of humans and Goblins alike."
"I see…" the Goblin replied, now looking intently at Harry, "your wand please Mr Potter."
Handing his wand over to the Goblin, he observed it carefully for a second before nodding and handing it back to Harry.
"Nagnok will take you all from here," Riptide said, gesturing at the Goblin beside him who led them into a new room.
"Take a seat please," the Nagnok said, "I am the Goblin in charge of the Potter family matters, responsible for overseeing every transfer and investment."
"Pleasure meeting you Nagnok," Harry said, offering Nagnok a handshake which he took.
"Now, I have been led to believe that you are planning to get Mr Harry Potter emancipated," Nagnok asked, looking at Dumbledore.
"That is very much correct Nagnok," Dumbledore replied, "We will be doing this through the Final Heir Law."
"Indeed indeed," Nagnok replied, "a law favouring the Pureblood families, a very useful law in this case for Mr Potter, all I would need for his emancipation would be the Ministry paperwork and approval from his legal guardians."
"I have it all here," Dumbledore replied, pushing a file of parchments to Nagnok, taking a moment to read through it, Nagnok nodded his head in approval.
"Then it is all settled, Harry James Potter, you are officially an adult in magical law terms and you have been granted access to all of your vaults and will have the Trace officially removed from you," Nagnok said, placing his thumb onto one of the parchment.
"Now, for the interesting part," Nagnok said, eyes gleaming in excitement, "the reveal of what you have in your account, you have over 200 million Galleons in your account, accounting for over a billion dollars in muggle money, along with that, you are the owner of various magical artefacts, including the Potter and Peverall Rings, last but not least, you own the Potter Manor."
"What- The Potter Manor?" Harry asked confusedly.
"Indeed, that was your ancestral home for many many generations with their last occupants being your grandparents, the Manor however, was destroyed during the First Wizarding War, while you still own the land around it, the Manor is in ruins as of now," Nagnok explained, "of course, you can choose to rebuild the Manor at that piece of land, that would take around 500 000 galleons if you want to rebuild it to its former glory, another alternative would be to sell the land or rent it to someone, you do not have to make your decision about it now of course, the land is yours regardless of whether you have a building on it."
"I would decide what to do with it another time," Harry decided, "what are the Potter and Peverall Rings?"
"Those are House Rings," Dumbledore explained, "in the past, many of the strongest and most powerful families had Rings created and passed down throughout the generations to the leader of the house, it was a symbol of power with many of such rings having magical powers infused in it, I for one, have the Dumbledore Ring."
Dumbledore showed Harry the ring in his hand, it had a phoenix on it.
"I also have the Black Ring," Sirius said, showing Harry his hand as well, it had a 'B' on it with some tiny words in Latin written around it.
"And these are your rings," Nagnok said, pushing a tray with 2 Rings on it, taking the Peverall Ring, it had an odd design on it, a circle inside a triangle with a line cutting the circle.
"That is the symbol of the Deathly Hallows," Dumbledore said, "I can explain the story behind it another time but the Peverall brothers were largely believed to be the ones who created the magical objects associated with it, one of which is your Invisibility Cloak."
Looking at the next ring, it simply had a 'P' on it.
"Both rings have rather interesting abilities attached to them," Dumbledore continued, "the Peverall Ring can give you temporary invisibility when you activate it, it is not as strong as your invisibility cloak, but works very well in combat where going invisible for a short while can save you, its more powerful attribute however, is when you combine it with the cloak, it allows you to travel through walls and become completely invisible."
"Wow," Harry said in amazement as he placed the Ring on, triggering it which made him invisible and turning it off making him visible again.
"Indeed," Dumbledore continued, "the Potter Ring however, is even more impressive, it can generate a powerful shield which would absorb spells and charge it up, when it is fully charged, you can release a powerful beam of energy."
Putting on his family ring, he activated it, conjuring a large vertical shield from the ring, admiring it, he eventually turned it off again.
"These are powerful artefacts," Harry commented before turning his attention back to Nagnok to continue.
"Indeed Mr Potter," Nagnok said, "let's move on to your past transaction history, after your parents passed, the only transactions out of it was a transaction when you turned 11, performed by Albus Percival Dumbledore to set up an Education Fund, he also scheduled yearly transactions to top up the Fund after each year, the other transactions would be the yearly withdrawal of 4000 galleons to the muggle account of Vernon Dursley, the final withdrawal would be your yearly payment to me as previously determined with your parents, a yearly transfer of 10 000 galleons to manage all your finances, would you like to continue with my services Mr Potter?"
"Yes, I would Nagnok."
"Fantastic, this would conclude our business here at Gringotts today, is there any other things that I can do for you?" Nagnok asked.
"Yes Nagnok," Dumbledore replied, "I would like you to set up a Gringott 2-Way Card for Mr Potter to use in the Muggle world to withdraw muggle money and make muggle payments."
"That can be done," Nagnok replied before turning to Harry to explain, "a 2-Way Card is a credit card in muggle terms, allowing you to make payments in the muggle world without needing to come to Gringotts to change galleons into muggle money."
"Ah, that would be useful," Harry commented.
"Indeed, this is the card," Nagnok said as he made his way to a machine which printed out a card and handed it to Harry.
"Do not make rash monetary decisions Harry," Dumbledore warned him, "Sirius will be keeping an eye on your transaction history, while you have lots of money, I would still prefer if you indulge in it wisely."
"I would Professor," Harry replied, "I'm not really about that fancy lifestyle anyways."
"That would conclude our business here then," Nagnok said cheerfully, "I look forward to working with you in the future Mr Potter, I would schedule meetings once per year to inform you about your vault, should you want to consult me about any decisions, I would be free to have an appointment with you anytime."
"Thank you Nagnok, I look forward to working with you as well," Harry replied, reaching out to shake Nagnok's hand before they walked out of the room and Gringotts.
"Take my hand Harry, Cho and Sirius," Dumbledore said to them, which they all did before Dumbledore apparated them to a foreign place to him. The place looked old-fashioned with a narrow road with many cottages on both sides, it looked peaceful and beautiful to him, a place that Harry could imagine settling down with Cho.
"Where are we Professor?" Harry asked curiously.
"We are at Godric's Hollow Harry," Dumbledore replied, looking unfocused, "the final resting place of both of our families."
"My… My parents' graves are here?" Harry asked, getting emotional.
"Yes Harry," Dumbledore replied, "this was where your family lived and where James and Lily were buried after their deaths, follow me Harry."
Following Dumbledore, Harry felt Cho's hands tighten around his, giving him the emotional support that he desperately needed, looking at Sirius next to him, he could see that his face was strained, clearly attempting to hold back the tears similar to Harry.
"Here Harry," Dumbledore said softly. They stood next to a house that was in complete ruins, sitting there as if it was abandoned, the right side of the top floor was blown apart and the house was now covered with vegetation. Moving towards the signboard at the entrance, Harry confirmed his suspicions about the place, it was his house, the house where his parents were murdered, the house where he had become an orphan. Looking at the signboard, there were many well wishes on it, wishing him luck in life with a few flowers on the floor.
"I want to go inside," Harry said softly, tears now flowing down his face.
"Let's go then," Cho agreed, leading Harry inside the rubble.
Opening the door, Harry looked at the spot where his father's body would have been, looking around the room, he could almost envision how peaceful and happy it would have been to live in this house. How the first 11 years of his life could have been enjoyable and filled with happiness. Walking even deeper into the house, Harry spotted something on the floor, bending down and clearing away the dust and the vegetation, he realised that it was a toy broom, something that he must have ridden on before.
"Lily sent me a letter once with a photo of you riding it," Sirius said, his voice unstable due to the emotions, "she said that you almost killed your cat riding on it."
Harry chuckled silently amidst the tears before putting the broom back on the floor.
"I guess I don't need to feel terrible if you beat again," Cho said, "you were riding brooms before you were one, you had plenty of experience before you even came to Hogwarts."
Harry finally let out a laugh at the ridiculous comment, something that Sirius joined in. Taking one last good look, Harry left the room and climbed up the stairs, preparing himself for the worst.
Slowly opening the door to the nursery, Harry walked in and looked around his surroundings, he saw a piece of parchment on the wall and after wiping off the dust, Harry realised that it was an alphabet table.
"That's a magical alphabet," Cho said, taking a good look at it too, "it's something all kids had."
Nodding, Harry turned his attention to his baby cage, the place where his mother died trying to protect him, the place where Voldemort tried to kill him and the place where he became The Boy-Who-Lived. His tears were now following down his cheeks profusely, leaning onto Cho for support, allowing him to cry onto her. Lupa let out a soft howl, moving to the side of Harry's leg and leaning onto it as well.
After taking a few minutes to calm himself down, Harry made his way out of the nursery and the house. Following Dumbledore, Harry found himself at the graveyard next to the church.
"I would allow you three to have your alone time," Dumbledore said, "I will be visiting my family."
Walking up to his parents' grave, Harry's tears started to flow again. Unable to produce any words, he let Sirius go first to talk to them.
"Hey James and Lily," Sirius said, choking as he said it, "it have been a while, 15 years to be exact, all because I decided to be an idiot and go after the rat, I know what you would say Lily, I am an idiot and I failed as Harry's godfather, I know, trust me I do, I spent every second in Azkaban regretting my choices, allowing revenge to get to my head, but it all worked out in the end thankfully, my name is finally cleared, I am finally a free man again and I can perform my duties as Harry's godfather again, I would make sure that I make up for the 15 years that I was gone from Harry's life, I would treat him like my own son and spoil him like one, but I don't think I need to do that either with all the wealth you left him, I think you would be proud with how Harry have grown over the 15 years, he is more mature than I would ever be somehow, but I promise to you both, I would get my shit together and stop fooling around, I think its time to chase the girl that I told you about so many times James, anyways, this is me for now, I would bring Remus along some day and give you 2 a toast together and reminisce about the years we spent together."
Getting up, Sirius looked at them before giving a nod, encouraging them to go up and talk to his parents.
"I would do it first," Cho whispered to Harry before squatting down and facing the tombstones.
"Hi, I'm Cho Chang, Harry's girlfriend, I have never met either of you before and would never get the opportunity to but if Harry is anything like you two, meeting you two would have been an amazing experience, I truly love Harry, I have ever since we got together after the second task of the Triwizard Tournament, Harry had shown me the love and acceptance I have never experienced and I very much intent on settling down with him someday and raise our children with him and hopefully, in 10 years, we will be here with your grandchildren talking to you, I would keep Harry safe from the dangers out there and especially from himself and his foolish tendencies, I wish this conversation could have been face to face with you two and that I could gain your approval because that is something that I struggled with, hopefully, you two are watching over us from the afterlife and hopefully you approve of our relationship, regardless however, I would continue loving Harry and supporting him."
Cho moved away from the grave, giving Harry one last nod of encouragement.
"Hi Mum, Hi Dad, I saw you two the other day but I'm here now, I just got emancipated and found out about the final blessings that you left me with, the money and the rings, they will truly help me a ton in the future and I promise that I would use both wisely, I don't have much to say truly, I just really miss you two both, I wish that I was living in the cottage with you two right now, I can imagine how beautiful and peaceful it would have been, but that isn't the life that I can ever have, I love you two so much," Harry said before getting up, not before conjuring a boutique of flowers and putting it on the grave and cleaning the tombstone.
All three moved in silence as they found Dumbledore, similarly facing tombstones like they were. Moving up to him, they could hear Dumbledore's soft sobs. He however, sensed their presence and started talking.
"This is my family Harry," Dumbledore said, "my sister and my parents."
Moving up to the tombstone, Harry read 3 names, Ariana Dumbledore, Percival Dumbledore and Kendra Dumbledore.
"My father was sent to Azkaban after he attacked three muggle boys for attacking my sister when she was six for performing magic, she was deeply traumatised after it, suppressing her magic and eventually becoming an Obscurus, a dark and parasitic magical force which could not be controlled, one day, Ariana accidentally killed my mother after she lost control of that magic," Dumbledore said, voice filled with pain and regret, "during that time, I was a brilliant student who had just graduated from Hogwarts, unfortunately for me, I had to come back and take care of my little sister as I was the eldest child, I resented every moment of that back then, how I wish that I could do that nowadays."
Harry did not say anything, himself completely stunned by the new reveal of secrets from Dumbledore.
"During my stay however, I met a young man, Gellert Grindelwald, he had so much ambition in him, something that a boy like me, dreaming to be more than a caregiver fell for, I fell for him, became blinded by love and formed many plans with him to take over the world, to put to wizards at the top of the ladder and rule over muggle," Dumbledore said with hatred for himself in his voice, "my brother Abeforth however, saw the wrong in this and tried to put an end to this, this led to a three-way duel between Grindelwald, my brother and I, Ariana tried to put an end to this, till this day, I don't know whose spell killed her, do you see why I never wanted the Minister of Magic post? I cannot be trusted with power."
Without waiting for Harry's reply, Dumbledore stood up and led them to one last destination, walking to the square, Harry saw as an obelisk which seemingly contained the names of many muggles who had died in wars transformed into a statue, a statue of his family. Looking closer at the statue, he saw his parents' happy expressions, and his, a forehead without a scar on it, just a regular baby, a regular baby with his parents.
"This Harry, is a memorial for your family and all families in the wizarding world which was torn apart by Voldemort and his war," Dumbledore said, "every year at Halloween, many wizards around the UK and the world come here to pay their respect to your family, to your parents' sacrifice which protected so many other families from suffering the same fate."
"This is what we are fighting for then," Harry said softly, "to stop others from suffering the same fate that I did."
"Yes Harry," Dumbledore replied.
"Let's end Voldemort then," Harry replied, "let's put an end to all of this."
