Mira-Chronicle...
Alya crosses out that one. Another one.
She looks at her list. It was the 23rd one she crossed out. Finding a new name for her soon-to-be-former Ladyblog is harder than she thought.
Maybe she should check some of her old posts for inspiration.
She scrolls through her blog. Most of them where video clips of Ladybug and Chat Noir saving the day. One fan posted a picture of the duo saving a truck of kitties, and the guy assigned to deliver them to the adoption site. There was also a fanart of Ladybug and Chat Noir with their potential future children.
Alya chuckles at the last post. Oh those silly memories before she found out...
Come to think of it, she wrote a 7 page fanfiction of their possible wedding and burnt the pages instead of publishing it online 2 days after-Back to scrolling!
The next post she checked was one that brought bad memories that made her realize how stupid of a blogger and a friend she was.
She should've checked for proof. She should've confirmed the truth before posting.
She should've believed her best friend and not dismiss her claims as jealousy.
The moment she heard someone was best friends with Ladybug, she immediately begged for an interview and didn't wait one second more to post the interview online for all the world to see.
She didn't even bother to pry even further, or research related news, or even interview her friends and family for confirmation before posting.
She just posted that lie like the gullible excited pup she was. And since then, she was played as a fool.
She really was a good liar.
Maybe it was a mistake to give her a Mira-
"Isn't it a risk to tell people you're friends with a superhero?" A familiar small voice asks.
Alya lets out a heavy sigh. Another small fact she ignored because of her obsession and naivety, "Yeah. Why didn't I listen, Trixx?"
Her Kwami floats near her face, ready to listen.
Alya sadly continues, "I found out my best friend's biggest secret, and I still didn't believe her. And what's worst is that I almost let that... liar ruin my friends' lives just because I keep falling for her 'I'm- Best-Friends-With-A-Hero-So-I'm-Good' act. (Sad face.) Some hero expert I turned out to be. I couldn't even tell good from fake good. And she fooled almost everyone in Paris. She would have made a better Fox Holder than me."
With a sullen look, she fidgets the Miraculous on her neck, wondering if it was really suppose to be there.
The guilty atmosphere in her room was suddenly dispelled by a small, yet loud, laughter courtesy of her Kwami who quickly hides under her pillow to muffle his continuous laughter as to not be heard by other members of his Holder's family.
The laughter dies down, and Trixx emerges from the pillow, "Sorry. You kinda took me back to one of my previous Holders: Pied Piper."
Hearing that name surprises Alya, "One of your Holders was THE Pied Piper of Hamelin who drove away the plague of rats and kidnapped children by just playing on his flute?"
The Fox Kwami slightly chuckles, looking up with a nostalgic look in his eyes, "Yeah. That was a pretty sly trick. He actually conjured up an illusion of dancing cheeses for the rats."
"What about the kids?" Alya asks nervously as if she doesn't want to hear the answer.
"Candyman." Trixx replies, confirming Alya's uneasiness, "Don't know how you humans didn't get the story straight, but he was definitely paid for driving out the rats. He just wanted more."
"Sounds like someone I know." Alya comments bitterly.
"Well that's what happens when you have the power of Illusions." Trixx voice suddenly sounds sad, "You, sometimes attract the greedy types. Would be nice to have a Holder who only conjures 'friendly animals' for kids to play with."
Alya eyes her Kwami with interest, "Your Miraculous has been misused many times?"
"Many, many times." Trixx, corrects, "You entrust the Fox Pendant to someone who seem noble... the next thing you know, they create fake problems only they can solve too easily. You have no idea how many headaches they gave the previous Guardian when they refused to return the Miraculous."
"That must have been tough for you." Alya sympathizes.
"Not all of them were bad though. Some were just childish pranksters." Trixx sadly chuckles, "But it would have been nice to have an actual noble and responsible Holder for a change. Then you came along, Alya, and granted my wish."
Alya was taken aback by what her Kwami just said, "l-I did?"
"You did promise to return the Miraculous once the mission was done, riiiight...?" Trixx slyly reminds Alya of her first superhero mission, making the teenager look away in embarrassment, "In the end, even if you wanted to, you still did what's right. And it took you just a minute to give back my Miraculous after the mission. Compared to your predecessors. That really takes a lot of courage, and selflessness."
Alya feels touched. Normally it was her giving her best friend pep talks whenever she has problems and/or feeling down, but now her Kwami was doing her job all because she believed the wrong person.
She also feels honored. To be called more courageous than her predecessors was a big deal for her.
Why is it when people get away with their lies and illusions for the first time, they keep doing it just to get recognition? What happened to receiving recognition through hard work? It's tiring and time-consuming... but you get something great in return.
"Also... you make a waaay better fox than that liar." Trixx points out, "She lies all the time just so that everyone will worship her and innocent people have to pay the price."
"Yeah." Alya still couldn't believe she lied just to get her best friend, the only person who wasn't fooled by her, expelled. And she took that faker's side no matter how many times her best friend insisted.
"But you, don't." Trixx continues, "You lie, but not just for your own benefit. You lie, to protect your family and friends. You lie in order to protect them from the evil that threatens to hurt them. And even if you lie, you always make it up to them. That's the true power of a Master of Illusions. The very best kind."
Alya smiles warmly at her Kwami, touched by his words, "Aw Trixx..."
She scoops the little fox Kwami in her hands and face-hugs him. The Kwami happily returns the gesture.
After a while, she stops to face her Kwami still in her hands, "I'm sorry I let you go, Trixx. I thought I messed up, and-"
"You know you're not the only one who messed up." Trixx gently interrupts, "And... (looks a little bit nervous) that person made a lot of selfish choices in the past that led to very negative consequences. But that person had the drive to fix those mistakes. And as long as that kind of drive still exists, then all is forgiven. So, don't ever be too hard on yourself again!"
Trixx grasps Alya's cheek desperately as if his life depends on it. Alya was surprised at first, but then chuckled as she gently hugged her Kwami with both hands.
After the Strikeback Incident, she felt she turned out to be a failure of a hero after almost messing up the mission and endangering her teammates. She gave up her Miraculous out of guilt because of that. That turned into another mistake as the Miraculouses and Kwamis were soon taken by Shadow Moth. Her guilt intensified when she realized that Trixx was going to be treated horribly by a villainous mastermind.
Even if she gave up being a hero, that didn't stop her from helping Paris' last two remaining heroes for the sake of protecting her and her friends' home from an upgraded madman and for the sake of her poor Kwami who was at said madman's mercy.
Of course, after Monarch was defeated, she reunited with her Kwami and gave him a much-deserved hug of relief, happy he was saved, safe, and still in one piece.
"Don't worry Trixx." She assures, "Next time I belittle myself for making a mess as a hero, at least I know someone's got my back."
Her Kwami smiles back at her.
Then... his tummy rumbles.
Alya giggles and places Trixx in her fanny pack, "Guess we've been holed up in here for too long."
"Yeah." Trixx agrees as his Holder heads for the door, "Just keep those little Sapotis away from me."
Alya laughs. Her little sisters sure love to play with their dolls. Just in case they accidentally spot even a small part of Trixx, Marinette made Kwami-sized dolls to distract them from the real deal.
Maybe she should ask her friends for help and they could decide on the new blog name together.
After all, you can accomplish great things with your friends by your side.
Let's agree; Our favourite duo have their moments with their Kwamis. Now it's their teammates' time to shine along with their Kwamis.
Hopefully I can finish this before someone even leaks Season 6 scenes of the other Holders bonding with their Kwamis. Get ready everyone for heavy doses of cuteness!
