FOREWORD
I have to admit, One Piece is a series that evokes mixed feelings in me. On the one hand, it's a gloriously nonsensical bad acid trip of a shounen manga series, with one of the most infamous idiots in all of manga and anime as the main character. On the other hand, when the series gets things right, it really gets them right, with some heady emotional moments, interesting characters, and bizarre superpowers used in creative ways.
I'd considered doing a One Piece fanfic for many years, but at the time, I'd never got past the East Blue Saga. One character I had heard of whom I wished to do a fanfic for was Nico Robin after hearing about her tragic past (plus, she's a sexy archaeologist on a par with Lara Croft of the Tomb Raider franchise, as well as Bernice Summerfield and River Song from the Whoniverse). But I was yet to get through the Baroque Works Saga where she is introduced, and to really have a chance of doing her justice, I needed to read through Water 7 and Enies Lobby, where her past is revealed and character development is made.
Finally, after many snags and delays, I think this fic is ready to be published. If I get that far, this fic will cover up to the end of the Baroque Works/Alabaster Saga, with further fics covering strong AUs of the Skypiea and Water 7 arcs and subsequent ones. And hopefully, you'll enjoy it.
Anyway, time for the usual disclaimers. Firstly, there will be spoilers for both One Piece, and the Potterverse.
