Prologue

New York, New York

[August 18, 1993]

"We have made a terrible mistake." The three women sat staring at the maternity ward. Their focus on a single infant, swaddled in a blue blanket. The oldest of them tsked. The remaining two turned incredulous eyes.

"What you call a mistake, I call an opportunity." She appraised the young boy as a nurse came in and lifted him out of the bassinet. Storms rumbled outside, but they continued to sit there. The nurse took the child out and to a room not far away. "Plus the threads have been spun. There is little we can do to stop it now. Unless of course one of you wishes to speak to His Majesty?"

The others groaned. No one wanted that, least of all now. They murmured to each other before the middle one stared at the child's name written with dry erase on the bassinet.

"We should have spun her thread differently, we all but made her a match to him."

"This was what was meant to happen. We knew she had to be, lest he not be born." The Oldest stabbed with a thin finger towards the room.

"We have still made a mistake. It was supposed to be a different girl. They were not to mix, His laws-"

"His laws do not bind us!" Snapped The Oldest. A withering stare turned on The Youngest. "We see all that has been, and all that will ever be. We know how things will play out if we seek to reverse our mistake. This option is better, riskier, but better."

"And if it all comes crashing down around our heads?" The Oldest cocked an eyebrow.

"We both know that will not come to pass, but if it were to happen…" The Oldests's lips turned into a small smirk. "Then I guess you could do as these mortals, and say 'I told you so.'"

Again all focus returned to the bassinet, the name 'Perseus Jackson' scrawling in doctor's handwriting upon it.

CC's Island

[2000]

The black haired girl shoved her aegis into the face of a running pirate. The large man went down like a sack of potatoes. Her spear followed fast. Its blade sliced through flesh and another pirate yelped as he dropped his sword. She twisted and lightning cracked from the growing storm clouds above. It lanced to the ground and split wood. Pirates dove away as the dock was cut in half.

"You really know how to treat a girl Luke!" She ducked and swept her spear haft. It took the legs out from one of Circe's Handmaidens.

"Come on Thalia! How is this my fault? Reyna, is the ship ready?" Luke bellowed as he swung, his sword stopped a strike. The Pirate blinked before Luke planted his foot into his chest and sent The Pirate into the water. "Hylla get back here!"

The raven haired teenager grabbed a cutlass from one of the pirates and swiped one lunging handmaiden away. Her hands snatched a pistol from one of the pirates. The gun cracked like thunder and stopped another handmaiden from rushing them. The sword was thrown and collided with another person's head.

Someone rose up in her blind spot. Thalia went wide-eyed and raised her aegis. The figure froze. The green eyed Immortal Sorceress blinked. That moment allowed Hylla to plant a fist into the sorceress's jaw.

"We're almost free of the moorings!" Reyna called down. The dark skinned obsidian eyed seven year old shouted. Luke parried a blow from another pirate. Thalia jabbed the offender with the weighted end of her spear. Hylla tossed someone into the water.

Behind the strong woman furthest from the ship rose The Immortal Sorceress. The woman's lips were peeled back, baring her teeth to the world as poisonous light flowed from her eyes. Her hand clad in the same magic rose, a single finger pointed towards the ship and Reyna.

Thalia bellowed and tossed her spear to get a better throwing grip. Luke didn't hesitate, he covered the sudden gap as a handmaiden rushed Thalia. The young leather jacket clad pre-teen aimed for The Immortal Sorceress.

"Circe!" The woman spun and Thalia's arm stopped before her throw could begin. Hylla had slipped behind Circe, her eyes flickering red as she raised her appropriated cutlasses. "No one touches my sister!"

Circe focused on blocking as Hylla began to attack relentlessly. Pirates and handmaidens rushed past and Thalia had to return to ward them off. Block, shove, stab. Repeat. Thalia lost track of the time as she called down another blast of lightning beyond Hylla and Circe's duel.

"Ship's ready! Hylla!" Reyna went wide eyed as she saw her sister. Hylla didn't say a word, her entire focus on The Goddess as they continued their duel. "Hylla!"

Luke jumped up onto the ship and offered a hand to Thalia. Once the pair were aboard Luke rushed for the wheel. Thalia held her aegis and warded off any from boarding.

"Hylla it's time to go!" Thalia screamed at the oldest Half-Blood among them. Then electric blue eyes caught deep pools of black. At that moment Thalia knew what was about to happen. Her jaw dropped as her voice failed her.

"Go! Keep my sister safe, Daughter of Jupiter!" Hylla sliced into Circe as The Goddess turned to The Queen Anne's Revenge. Golden ichor spilled from the cut on Circe's cheek. The Immortal Sorceress spun and screamed, a wave of magic unleashed that threw Hylla and almost everyone else on the docks into the water.

Reyna moved to jump and Thalia dove. Her hands wrapped tight around the smaller girl, aegis and spear forgotten. The seven year old screamed and shouted as Luke turned the wheel and the ship lurched away from Circe's Island. Thalia whispered as she held the girl so tight that even with her greater strength she could not break free.

"I'm sorry Reyna, I'm so sorry."

The Wolf House

The blonde's eyes blinked and she stared up at the massive wolf that leaned over her.

"I am Lupa, and I will instruct you in the ways of Rome young Demigoddess." The Wolf spoke… Annabeth, yeah that was her name, stared up at the talking wolf and its pack of others. Maybe this would be better than her step-mother, she could only hope.

A/N:

So basic gist, Reyna and Annabeth are swapped. I feel like while they aren't perfect swaps personality wise they are perfect people to swap just like Percy and Jason were in HoO. I've decided that while this would clearly have an effect on the series. I wasn't liking how a lot of that writing turned out. As such I'm going to do some time skips. If people really enjoy this I'm definitely willing to go back and give those first five wonderful books some more love on this swap. But for the moment I'm much more pleased with how most of this has progressed. I will say that this is mostly complete, probably totalling five, possibly six chapters before the real meat of HoO. I don't know if I'll go into all of HoO, this is mainly about a single thing I really wanted to write. If people are interested in this HoO I'll definitely consider going further with it. I hope everyone enjoyed, I have no idea when anyone will see this, and it. Would. Not. Leave. Me. Alone. Thanks for reading!
