In a world ravaged by the BETA, Mankind seeks to find alternative solutions to the ever growing and ever spreading Alien hordes. It is the Soviets, as they continue to loose territory, which make such an attempt at an alternative solution. Except, it brings to their earth creatures of ash and fang. But Drake also unlocks secrets of Shadow's angelic gift during his missions and adventures.

The story takes place in a dystopian future when there's the Ultimate War (the battle of humans and dragons). A young teen named Drake Dalloway aspires to join the Canadian Forces and to avenge his father. After finally capturing his first dragon and with his chance at last gaining the acceptance, he finds that he no longer wants to kill it and instead befriends it.
