Chapter 7 - What if...
Moments during Popper's Nightmare
Sarah and the kids were eating pizza before their bed time. Sarah ate a couple pieces but she was caught up in her thoughts more then food. The kids on the other hand were right in the food like Lions.
"hey! RB you had the last piece last time we had Pizza" Candy stated.
"Yeah, you remember what Dad said about bulling, RB" Bluey reminded.
"Fine" She said before she got an evil smile.
RB before giving the piece to Candy, brought it up to her mouth and licked it.
"Here ya go" RB said handing it to Candy.
"ew! RB!" Candy yelled setting it back in the Pizza box.
"haha" RB Laughed in amusement.
Candy jumped over the table at RB and pulled her ears. RB then kicked her off and bonked her head with her paw. Candy then jumped on her a hocked up a loogy and dangled it above her face.
"GIRLS!" Sarah yelled. "What is going on here" She continued sternly.
Candy slurped the loogy back up and swallowed it. RB and Candy then lined next to each other.
"She Started it, she licked the last piece of Pizza when it was my turn to have it" Candy said pointing at her.
"She Jumped over the table and pulled on my Ears" RB stated.
"Then you, bonked my head" Candy said as they started to get each other into a headlock.
"Yeah! you tried to land a loogy in my face!" RB yelled as both of them were still trying to put each other into a headlock.
Sarah took them both by the loose skin on the back of their necks. (like Noni did to Stitch in the 2nd movie)
"ok you two are going to learn one way or another, especially you RB" Sarah said as she sent them both to the Livingroom.
"Stupid head" Candy mumbled while looking at RB as she walked past her.
"Smish, spubata" (Sure, I'll tech you) RB mumbled back as Candy walked past her, RB followed her into the Livingroom.
Sarah slumped back into her chair and Bluey was looking at her. Bluey's ears plopped down, as he stared at her sad eyes.
"Aunty Sarah, I know you don't like to talk about it, but sometimes getting it out helps" Bluey stated.
Sarah looked up at Bluey as a tear formed in her eyes followed by a tiny smile.
"Those are very wise words, Bluey" Sarah said. "It's just, someone I really care for is very far away right now, and despite any attempts to get him back to me has failed" she stated.
RB and Candy peered their heads around the entry of the Livingroom with tears in their eyes as they heard those words, as well as shock that it was Bluey that got her to talk about it.
"We're sorry, Sarah" RB said. "we didn't know it was heart break you were dealing with" she added.
Candy broke into tears before she could even get a word in.
"Oh, don't cry Candy" Sarah said as her own tears got stronger. "you'll make me cry even more" She added.
"We met before you guys were born, but certain things didn't work out, sure we sent letters back and forth to each other for a bit, until the final letter came, since then, I just can't bare it" Sarah said as she cried harder.
Candy, RB, and Bluey all walked over to Sarah and gave her a big hug.
"You and Rueben will be together at some point, Love never fails, That's what Dad always says" Bluey said.
"What did you say?" Sarah asked calmly.
"Love never fails" Bluey repeated.
"No, before that" Sarah said.
"You and Rueben will be together at some point" Bluey said.
"How did you..." Sarah asked.
"Cause you have a poster of him in your room, and he is very far away" Bluey said.
Sarah's crying turned into a small chuckle.
"you are very smart, Bluey" Sarah stated.
They all hugged in the Kitchen even though it was passed the kids bed time. Sarah needed some support from those sweet Angels. Sarah took all the kids to bed and tucked them all in and kissed all their foreheads. Sarah was about to head out the door of the bedroom until Bluey called her name.
"Sarah?" Bluey called.
"Yes, Bluey" Sarah answered.
"When Rueben does come back, will you guys get married, like Mom and Dad did" Bluey asked.
"In a heartbeat, Bluey, In a heartbeat" Sarah replied as tears formed in her eyes.
"good night" Bluey said back as he fell to sleep.

song starts as she closes the door to the kids room*
Sarah: I wake up tonight feeling paper thin and I'm paper white

Listen everyday till the dark is back *holds the letter to her heart*
Now I pine for phantom pain
It's the only time that I see your face *he reappeared in the hallway*

What if we could find a way to try to heal? *touches the tear spots on the letter*

What if there was still a reason not to go? *starts to get up*
What if there was still a little bit of hope? *raises her paws in the air*

Sarah: ooh *starts crying heavy*

Popper arrived back at the house around 8:15 with out his hover car, which is impressive considering how far the President house is. He didn't waist anytime going through door he just climbed the wall up to the balcony.
"Sarah! Are you ok" Popper said in a panic.
"I couldn't get him t... to let h... him stay... w..w... with me, why couldn't he just let h...h.. him stay... with me" Sarah cried.
"Oh, Sarah, you're heart broken" Popper said as a tears formed in his eyes. "why didn't you tell me sooner" he added.
"because, I thou...th.. thought I could get h..hi.. him here, but I failed" Sarah stated as she whimpered trying to catch her breath from all the crying.
"Who is he?" Popper asked as she got her to sit beside him, instead of standing on her knee's.
"Rueben, but Gantu, he didn't le... let him stay" Sarah stated while wiping away her tears but sill whimpering. "This is the last letter... he sent me six months ago" she add as she past him the letter.
"That explains why you wanted me to give him that sandwich" Popper said as he opened up the letter and started to read it.
Rueben's voice: Dear Sarah,
This will be the last letter I'll be sending. I'm so sorry,
I can't be with you. Gantu, has made it perfectly clear If our
letters don't stop, he will find a way to stop it the hard way.
I want to protect us from whatever that means, whether
that means banishment or worse. I will always love and
cherish you with all my heart.

Popper closed the letter and stared at the stars for a few seconds. He then looked at Sarah.
"Sarah, I don't think Gantu can keep him there forever, I'm pretty sure he is just scared of losing his best friend and doesn't know the right way to express that to Rueben" Popper stated.
"you think so?" Sarah asked.
"I know so" Popper answered. "when it comes to love, have I ever steered anyone wrong?" he added.
"no, you haven't" Sarah answered with a smile.
"see, there's the hope" Popper said wiping a tear off his sister's cheek.
Sarah hugged her big brother and Popper hugged back.
"I love you, Lil Sis" Popper said.
"I love you too, big bro" Sarah replied. "by the way, how did you know I was on the balcony?" Sarah asked.
"That is the weird thing I don't know, I just got some weird vision that you were in some kind of distress, so I ran here" Popper answered.
"You? You got a psychic vision?" Sarah asked chuckling a bit.
"I don't know... Visions are your thing. I just saw you crying on this balcony in my vision, so I came here" Popper said.
"Weird, I haven't been getting any visions because of how upset I've been" Sarah stated.
Popper want to tell her about the nightmare, but he didn't want to stress her out any more then she already was. Just as he thought about it, everyone else started getting home. They got up off the balcony floor and Sarah walked back in the house. Just as Sarah walked back in, Popper took a small glitch attack, his eyes started flashing red and then it stopped as he put his paws on his head. Then he shook it off and walked inside. When they got down stairs Lilo, Stitch, Flurry and Noni were all talking.
"That baby is so cute, he's defiantly going to be a mommies boy" Lilo stated.
"You should have seen him sneeze, cuteness overload" Flurry said.
"Definitely, like his father" Noni agreed.
"Oh, yeah, but he has his mother's eyes and smile, cute and fluffy" Stitch added.
"sounds like you all had a eventful day" Popper said as he gave Flurry a kiss.
"oh, yeah, best day ever" Flurry replied.
Sarah came down after putting Rueben's letter away. Still feeling a little down, but much better then before, thanks to the talk she had with Popper.
"how are you holding up?" Flurry asked.
"much better, it turns out talking about your feelings is much better then bottling it all up" Sarah stated. "Bluey's advice" She added.
Flurry and Popper looked at each other then back at Sarah and smiled. Sarah sat everyone down and told everyone everything about what was going on with her and Rueben. Everyone gave her a hug. Before you knew it, it was after 10 and everyone had gone to bed, except Popper.
