Chapter 12 Attack of the Killer Garage Sale Part 3

Unfortunately for Sam, the night would soon turn into a game of 20 questions as Tucker kept asking question after question. Honestly, Dani wondered how the techno-geek could even come up with some of the questions he asked.

"Tucker," said Sam, exasperated by all the questions as she leaned up against the counter with the pizzas on it, "Are we watching movies or not?"

"Okay, okay," said Tucker, who had apparently helped himself to the popcorn machine, "Just a few more questions. Could you buy a plane?"

"Yep," said Sam, getting bored of this conservation even more.

"A yacht," asked Tucker.

"Yep," replied Sam.

"Umm… A bowling alley," Tucker would ask for his final question.

"Nope," said Sam, as she took out a rather large remote from her pocket and pressed the giant button on it which caused the entertainment center to retract into the wall and reveal a 4-lane bowling alley behind it.

"There's no place for a second one," Sam continued, as both Tucker and Zack looked behind them at the bowling alley in shock.

Suddenly, an old woman in a motorized wheelchair would appear from somewhere to the right of the bowling alley and roll a bowling ball down one of the alleys, getting a strike.

"Yippee," said the older woman, "Bubbe's hot tonight!"

"Way to go, Mrs. Mason," thought Dani, as she raised an eyebrow at the display knowing that was Sam's grandmother.

After that the entertainment center wall would lower itself back down and Tucker would sit back down in his chair. Zack would also finally decide to take a seat as well.

Taking a sniff of the air, Tucker would ask, "That's weird because you don't smell stinking rich."

"What does stinking rich even smell like," thought Dani, raising a brow at Tucker's comment.

"Ugh. Will you stop it," said Sam, as she crossed the room and took a seat herself, "That's the whole reason I didn't tell anybody but Danielle."

"But I don't get it," asked Tucker, "With all this money, why do you hang out with us and Danny? If you flash a little of that bling bling, you'd be Miss Popularity!"

"Popularity isn't everything, Tucker," said Zack, deciding to speak up which earned an eye roll from the techno-geek.

"Yeah, especially if you have to buy it," added Sam.

"You should tell that to Danny," Tucker would say, "Can you believe people actually spent good money on that old junk from his parents shed?"

"Well, I did snag this really cool remote for three bucks," said Sam, as she took a remote from the table next to her chair, "And he did give Dash a pretty good deal on that computer stuff."

"I still don't understand how he got dad to agree to let him sell that stuff," Danielle would pipe in as she stood up to get a slice of pizza.

"Do you think he lied about getting permission," asked Sam, as she eyed the remote in her hands.

"No clue," said Danielle, as she took a slice of pizza from the supreme box and took a bite, "But you did pay for it, so… It's yours now. If Danny did lie about getting permission, he's just going to have to face the consequences, I guess. I just hope Jazz and I don't get caught in the crossfire."

After that discussion, the group would then decide on the movie they would watch. After some deliberation, it was decided they would watch an old kung fu movie that belonged to Sam's grandparents...

As Sam plopped the DVD into the machine, Dani and the others would make themselves some plates of pizza before retaking their seats. As Sam joined them, she would hit play on the remote as she took a seat as well.

They would be like that for a while before something strange happened. As the quartet watched the beginnings of a particularly awesome fight scene. The scene would repeat itself once, which would prompt Sam to say, "Tucker, if you want to watch a part over again, could you please tell us first?"

"Me," said Tucker, as he looked over to Sam then Danielle, "Elle's the one with the remote."

"What," said Dani, as she blinked in confusion at the statement, her lap and hands empty of said remote, "Wasn't me. Was it you Zack?"

"Don't look at me," said Zack, as the remote began to glow and float up into the air from its spot on the table by Sam and Tucker.

"I'm not schooled in the ways of the rich," said Tucker, as the quartet looked on in disbelief, "But do all your remotes do that?"

"No," replied Sam, "Well, our toaster does but it's from Denmark. That stuff Danny was selling must have been contaminated with ghost stuff!"

"Ghost stuff," Zack asked, as he raised a brow, "You guys believe in ghosts?" And as soon as the skater boy said that the remote would let out a zap of energy that would hit the popcorn machine and cause it to not only go into overdrive, but explode with the popcorn popper flying out, at, and hitting Zack in the head.

"Zack," shouted Dani, Sam, and Tucker as popcorn began to go all over them before the remote let out another zap of energy that struck the soda fountain. Which caused it to spray its soda all over the room.

Getting out of their seats, Dani and Sam would rush over to Zack with Dani pulling the popcorn popper off the boy and Sam checking him for injuries. "He's okay," said Sam, after a moment, "Just was knocked out is all."

"Come on guys," shouted Tucker, finally getting out of his seat and heading for the stairs, "Let's see where that remote is headed!"

The trio would then exit the basement and make their way through the house before exiting outside to the street to see an interesting sight. Several electronic items were glowing and floating down the street. All going in the same direction.

"Looks bad," said Tucker, as the trio looked at one another, "Looks like it's going to be a job for Danny and Danielle Phantom."
"Probably," said Sam, as she looked at Danielle before adding, "And if I wasn't so mad at Danny, I'd probably care that it's going to interrupt his big jock party. Shall we?"

"Oh, I'm more than happy it's going to interrupt his big jock party. Let's do this," shouted Danielle, as she cracked her knuckles, "Guess we're party crashing, huh guys?" And with that the trio would nod their heads at one another before running off after the floating electronics.

It wouldn't be too hard to follow the floating electronics to where they were going which just turned out to be where the party was being held. Dash's house. Danielle, who had somewhere along the way, had changed to her ghost form, floated alongside Sam and Tucker as they continued to run after the floating electronics.

"Man, I knew dad had a lot of stuff," said the Ghost Girl, as they neared the location of the party, "But I didn't realize just how much he had…. How did dad not notice Danny selling off his stuff when there's so much of it…"

"Don't know," said Tucker with a shrug, "I think he was shopping with your mom or something when Danny was holding that garage sale."

"Of course he was," Danielle said, with a sigh before thinking, "No wonder he wasn't caught…"

Running down an alley after the electronics, Danielle would take out a Fenton thermos and toss it to Tucker.

"Tucker, catch," said Danielle, as the trio stopped at an alley intersection.

"You know," said Tucker, bringing a hand to his chin as he caught the portable ghost-containing device, "Danny really needs to carry the thermos in some sort of lunchbox…"

Sam and Danielle would roll their eyes at Tucker's statement with Sam responding, "Everything is gravitating here to Dash's house. Looks like whatever fun Danny's having will be coming to an end soon." Before either Danielle or Tucker could respond to their goth friend though, the screaming sounds of the boy in question would soon fill the air before said boy came rushing past them and hitting the wall behind the trio.

"Hey sis," Danny said, between groans, "Hi, Sam. Hi, Tuck. Glad you could make it." Then Danny slid down the wall in a heap and a shadow would appear over the group.

Looking at the source of the shadow, the group's eyes would widen in shock as a colossal technological giant stood over them. "Oh boy," said Danielle, "That's… That's one big ghost." The techno-geek and goth would simply shake their heads in agreement.

"I am Technus," shouted the giant mechanical ghost, "Master of Technology and Destroyer of Worlds! Behold my awesome electronic fury! Who's your daddy?"

"Huh," said Danny, as he reopened his eyes and shot forward at Technus only to clang off his body and fall towards the ground again. Only to raise back up and attempt to rapidly punch at Technus's chest with little to no effect.

The whole time Danielle, Sam, and Tucker would be watching this whole display with Danielle thinking how the hell were they supposed to fight that. Technus was huge. And made of metal. How were they supposed to do anything to him?

Then Technus would raise a hand up and smack Danny down to the ground with a loud smack causing the ghost boy to land in front of his friends and sister. "Guys help," said Danny, as they looked down on him before he rose back up into the air to try to fight Technus. But Danielle, Sam, and Tucker merely just looked away from Danny, folding their arms in contempt for the ghost boy. All three of them were still mad at how Danny had been treating them the last few days.

"Come on guys," shouted Danny, as he was repeatedly slapped back down by Technus, "Guys, come on, seriously!

Flying back up one more time, Technus would once again try to slap Danny only for the Ghost boy to move out of the way each time. "I'm sorry I chose hanging with the popular kids over you guys," shouted Danny, as he continued to narrowly evade Technus, "It was stupid and shallow, and I'll never do it again! And Elle, I'm sorry for leaving you to clean up the mess in the lab as well as the street!"

Then Technus finally got an attack in, a downward punch, that sent Danny right back down to the ground with a groan. As the ghost boy landed, the trio would look down at the boy with amused expressions, with Sam asking, "How can we be of assistance?"

"He's running an old version of Portals XL," Danny said, as he stood back up.

"That piece of vaporware," asked Sam, before adding, "It's the worst software ever."

"Keep him busy," Tucker would add, as he looked between Danny and Danielle, "I think I know how you can beat him."
"That we can do," shouted Danny as he looked at his sister as she gave him a fist bump of support before both jumped up into the air to take on the technology ghost.

"Get back," shouted Danny, as the twins stopped in front Technus's face, "You hunk of my dad's junk!"

"Could mere junk do this," Technus would say, before Danielle could get a word in herself. Then the drying machine that made up Technus's chest would open up and two things attached to robotic tentacles would pop out. One a robotic hand and another the remote that Sam had bought. The hand would then press a button on the remote while it pointed itself at the twins which caused the twins form to change into that of a cowboy and cowgirl.

"What the," thought Danielle, as she looked herself over, "What? How?" But before she could voice those thoughts, Technus would press the button on the remote again and the two would become something else. Danny would become a blonde woman in a dress and Danielle a man in a tux. But they wouldn't stay in that form for long, as Technus would press another button and turn the Twins into characters from Star Trek. Spock and Uhura, respectively.

"Give me that," shouted Danny, as he grabbed the remote from Technus and pressed another button changing the twins back to normal.

"Phew," said Danielle, "I… I have no clue what my powers or abilities would have been in that form. Good work, Dann-" But Danielle never got to finish her statement, as two more robotic tentacles with hooks grabbed and slammed the twins into a wall.

Groaning a little from the impact, Danielle would look down at her techno-geek friend and say, "Hey Tuck. Any time now would be great! Just saying."

"I'm trying. I'm trying," shouted Tuck, up to the ghost twins.

"What's wrong," Sam would ask, as she looked over Tucker's shoulder.

"I'm trying to bypass the program, and I can't," said Tucker, "He must have upgraded."

"What do we do," asked Sam, as she looked up with concern for her best friends as the hooks continuously slammed the twins into the wall.

"We need the latest version of Portals XL," shouted Tucker, "But where are we going to get it this time of night?"

"Leave that to me," said Sam, as she pulled out her phone and dialed someone.

"Guys," shouted Danny, as both twins looked down at their friends for help before Danielle realized what Sam was doing.

"Way to go, Sam," shouted Danielle, which earned a curious look from Danny.

A moment later, a blonde woman on a moped would ride up to Sam and Tucker. "Here you go, Sam," said the woman, as she handed Sam a disk containing the latest version of Portals XL.

"Thanks Tracey," said Sam, as she handed the woman some money.

"Wow," said Tucker, "You have access to the latest technology after hours?"

"Yep," said Tracey.

"What else can you do after hours," asked Tucker, which would earn an eye roll from Sam.

"Just sign the voucher, sir," said Tracey, as she held up a clipboard.

After another moment, Sam would step up as close to Technus as she could and shout loud enough for Technus to hear her, "Uh, excuse me. I'm Sam. I don't believe I caught your you should scream it really loud and shout out your motive."

"Hello," shouted Technus, "I am Technus! Manipulator of Machines! Lord of all Gadgetry! Wizard of integrated circuitry!"

"Go on," said Sam, as she bent down and connected a loose wire to Tucker's PDA, "Isn't there more you'd like to tell me?"

"Oh yes," shouted Technus, "I am also master of all..." But Technus would never get to finish the statement, as his robotic suit began to malfunction.

"What's happening," shouted Danny, down to Tucker.

"Portals XL is happening," said Tucker, as the term "shutdown" flashed on Tucker's PDA, "Everybody knows that every new version of Portals XL has a gigantic hole in its security system."

"What," shouted Technus, "No!"
"Yes," shouted the twins, as the robotic hooks let the twins go.

The twins then flew forward somewhat, and each grabbed a tentacle with Danny shouting, "Process this!" The twins would then shove the hooks into a slot on the machine which Danielle would later learn was the machine's disk drive from Danny.

"Wait," shouted Technus, as the word error flashed on the giant's face, "That doesn't go there!" Another moment later, the machine would slouch over defeated and shut down.

"And for my final trick," shouted Tucker, as he took out the Fenton Thermos that Danielle had given him earlier and tossed it towards the ghost twins which Danielle would catch easily before uncapping it and sending the thermos suction beam at the ghost giant.

"Noooo," shouted Technus, as he was sucked into the thermos.

As Danielle capped the thermos, the giant technological robot would fall to pieces without its ghostly occupant keeping it together. "Nice going, Tuck," said Sam, as Tucker and Sam stood by the technology pile with the ghost twins joining them soon after.

"Don't thank me," said Tucker, "Thank lousy software." This, of course, would earn an eye roll from Danielle but a smile from both Danny and Danielle.

The next morning, Danielle would find herself walking up the stoop to Zack's house by herself. Her brother had gone on ahead to meet Sam and Tucker at school. As for why, Danielle found herself at her best friend's house, well… She was worried about that bonk on the head he had gotten last night over at Sam's from the popcorn popper.

Due to how she had to get him home last night, she never did get a chance to ask how he was doing after that. For you see after beating Technus, Danny had split from Danielle, Sam, and Tucker to return the stuff to their parent's shed. Allowing Dani, Sam, and Tucker to return to Sam's house.

When they returned, they would find Zack still knocked out in his chair and the room still very much a mess from the popcorn and soda everywhere. Frowning at seeing her friend still passed out, Sam had suggested that they take him home so he can rest in his bed. Tucker and Danielle agreed with the idea and Danielle would use her ghost powers for the first time to overshadow Zack. She would then walk his body home and get him in bed before leaving and rejoining Sam and Tucker to help clean up the mess. He was still knocked out when Danielle had called Zack's house just before going to bed herself.

"Oh… I hope you're alright, Zack," thought the ghost girl, as she reached Zack's front door and knocked on it.

It took a moment, but eventually the door would open to groggy-looking Zack. "YAWWWNN MornYAWNing," said Zack, as he yawned some, "Man… What happened last night… I don't even remember walking home."

"Uh," said Dani, at first, "That's because you didn't."

"What," said Zack, confused, "Then how did I-"

"Tucker, Sam, and I carried you back here," Dani would reply, a little uncomfortable lying to her friend, "After you fell asleep during the movie, and we couldn't get you to wake up."

"I fell asleep," said Zack, as he rubbed his head a bit, "I don't remember that at all… Ow… And why does my head hurt."

"We might have bumped your head into a wall while we were carrying you," said Dani, "Tucker's fault honestly."

"Okay," said Zack, as another thought popped in his head, "But… Why are you here, Danielle? You normally don't meet me at my house in the morning."

"I… I just wanted to make sure Tucker's screw up didn't cause any damage is all," Danielle would reply, "Looks like you're all good. Hehe."

Zack would raise a brow at Danielle's little laugh, but after a moment he would shrug it off to Dani being Dani.

"So, what else did I miss," asked Zack.

"Not much," said Danielle, "Movie got a little boring honestly after that fight climax scene. I can understand why you fell asleep so easily."

"How are things going with your brother, by the way," asked Zack, "Your parents ever find out about what he did."

"No," mumbled Dani, "In fact, he somehow convinced everyone who bought stuff at the garage sale to return the stuff and hauled it all back to my parents' shed last night. My folks were none the wiser… Lucky jerk…"

"Think he learned any lesson from this," asked Zack.

"Knowing Danny," said Danielle, "Not the right one."

Author's Note: And there's another episode down. Hope you enjoyed the Technus episode! Technus is such a joy to write... Though I still don't understand the "Who's your daddy" line he says. Next up is Poindexter. Which will be completely new for me to cover since that's where I stopped in the last iteration of this fic. Before I sign off for this chapter though, I have something to say.

For those of you are artists, feel free to make fanart of the story, but please don't leave reviews or PM asking for commissions. I'll save you the trouble right now and tell you I can't afford such things. If you'd like to make fanart though and have me leave a link to where you can see it, I'm more than happy to do that for you. But otherwise, I can't do anything else. I do not have the funds available for such things. Anyway, see you all next time.
