Chapter 13: Splitting Images Part 1

The following days after the party would pass by relatively quickly for the twins. Not much happened during those days, besides Danny sometimes having to hide from a very irate Dash for the prank Danny pulled on him. Danielle also began hearing murmuring from some of the school staff and students of dissections around the corner. Something that ticked off the twin's goth friend very much.

Currently it was just after lunch and Danielle was walking with Zack to the auditorium for a very interesting assembly that Sam had convinced the school to let her do. She had a vague suspicion about what it was about, but she wasn't one hundred percent sure. As for why she wasn't helping her goth friend get ready for the assembly, that was because she had promised Zack she would hang out and try skateboarding again during lunch. Plus Danny promised that he and Tucker could handle helping Sam set up without her. Danielle hoped she could believe her brother on that.

As the two walked to her locker, Danielle would unclip the strap to her helmet with a sigh. "That… Was really fun," said Danielle, as she glanced over to Zack, "Wish the school bell hadn't rung and ruined it though."

"Heh, I knew you'd like skateboarding, Dani," said Zack, with a slight chuckle, "And since you have your own helmet now, you can try more advanced stuff. Though you should consider getting kneepads and stuff though. Just to be safe."

"I'll think about it," said Danielle, as the two reached her locker, "Skating is fun, but I'm not sure I want to sink so much cash into the sport yet. Besides, I can just borrow yours for now. You don't mind, right?"

"Well, no, I don't mind," said Zack, as Dani put in her locker combination, "But it would be really cool if we could skate together, you know. Maybe do high fives as we pass each other and everything."

"Maybe," said Danielle, as she placed her helmet in her locker and began taking out stuff for her afternoon classes, "We'll see. There's a few video games I also want to get as well though."

The two would go quiet for a few moments before Zack would finally speak up again. "Say Dani," said Zack, "What's up with that locker over there? It seems… Rather old and decrepit compared to the other lockers around it."

"Hmm," said Danielle, as she closed her locker and shouldered her bag, "What locker?" Looking in the direction that Zack would point at, Dani's eyes would follow his finger until they landed on locker number 724. As her eyes landed on it, she would raise a curious brow at it as well. For one, the locker looked ancient. Not only from lack of use, but from the rust that seemed to cover the door.

"No clue," said Danielle, "Can't exactly say I've paid much attention to it before."

"I'm just wondering why the school let this locker get so bad," said Zack, as he walked up to the locker and lightly tapped its door, "Just look at all that rust on it."

"That is a lot of rust," admitted Danielle, "But... Does it really matter?"

"I guess not," said Zack, as he walked away from the locker, "Just… Mild curiosity is all. So… You know what this assembly of Sam's is going to be?"

"I think I have a vague idea," said Danielle, as she waited for Zack to join her before beginning to walk towards the auditorium, "But I'm not one hundred percent sure. Could be about lunch again for all I know."

"Oh, I hope not," said Zack, as he rubbed his stomach thinking about what Sam last did to the lunches, "I don't think my stomach could handle more ultra-recyclo vegetarian food."

"Me neither," said Dani, "I love Sam, but even I couldn't stand those lunches… Mud pies made of real mud… That's not food. That's a parasite waiting to happen."

As the two arrived at the entrance to the auditorium, they would both chuckle a little at Dani's statement. "True," said Zack, "That is one way to get a parasite. I'd rather not. Thank you very much. So, you only have a vague idea about what Sam is planning?"

"Yep," said Dani, with a shrug, "Though I think it has to do with the talk of dissections I've been hearing going around school."

"Ah… So, it's about animal cruelty, I guess," said Zack, with a nod, "I can see where Sam is coming from with that. Anyway, shall we head in?"

"Sur-," Dani began to say, before the sound of laughing could be heard coming from the auditorium, "What? Laughing?" Looking at Zack, who just shrugged in response, the two teens would push open the door to the auditorium and enter. What they saw would shock and worry Danielle.

For what they saw was Danny up on stage wearing what looked to be a costume from last year's school play of My Fair Lady. And it wasn't a male costume either.

"Whoo," shouted Tucker from somewhere on the opposite side of the stage, "Take it off!"

Author's Note: One of my shorter chapters being only almost 900 words, but sometimes that just happens. Especially for the beginning of an episode. It hopefully should balance out with the other two chapters. Anyway, hope you enjoyed this chapter, took a bit of thinking to figure out how I wanted to start this episode. I'm honestly pretty pleased with what I got. Till next time!
