Disclaimer: Hey guys and gals. I just had another suggestion from another reader about a couple of worlds and I think I can make a couple of them work out a little later after one of the other ideas I just had. The idea came from CRabbit and I'll need to do a little research and figure out how they meet, what brought them to their worlds, and the kind of issues they have in their worlds, but I do believe I can make it work if I tame them down a little bit as I believe both of them are very interesting and actually like them both. Until then, all rights for My Little Pony, Star Wars, Sonic the Hedgehog, The Legend of Spyro, and Kingdom Hearts belongs to their original creators and companies, I am not the original creator and have do not own them and any of the names, locations, items used and whatever else that is used in this story is for entertainment purposes only. Thank you all and hope you enjoy.
Chapter 161: Equestria Girls Part 1: Theft of the Crown
The following couple of days were calm for the most part, all of Ponyville was buzzing with the fact there are now two royals living in their quiet little town, but for twilight, she was really stressing as she had no clue what it meant to be a princess, looking for any kind of book she could to try and figure out what it meant to be a princess. Spyro could tell she was very stressed and tried to do what he could to teach her what it meant to be royalty, but she continued to skim through the books to try and find what she could, but the only thing she culd find that had any kind of information was just kids novels and fairytales, Spyro shaking his head at Twilight as she looked at the same page for some time, wondering what it was that got her attention. However, as she was reading, she got a message from the princess, informing her of her first summit as a new princess of Equestria and was needed in the Crystal Empire. Spyro had gotten everyone else and informed them of what was going on, but they noticed that Twilight wasn't there, so Spyro went to find her, looking in the library first and finding her in the main room of the library, sitting alone and looking at her Crown, which also served as the Element of Harmony Magic, breathing a sigh of sadness as he approached.
"Twilight, what are you doing here?" Spyro asked. "Everyone's waiting at the train station for you."
"I don't know if I should go." Twilight said.
"Why not?" Spyro asked. "You feeling sick or something?"
"I whish I was." Twilight replied. "I've only been a princess for a couple of days, but I don't know if I have what it takes to be one. What if I make a mistake and embarass myself!? What if I do something that will bring Equestria into a war!? Oh Spyro, how do you handle being a prince?"
"Simple, I just do what comes naturally." Spyro replied, walking over and wrapping his wing around her as he sat down. "You just need to stop thinking of what you might do, and focus on what you can do. As a princess, you have many more responsibilities that others don't know about. I just don't let the stress of it get to me and focus on the good stuff that I have instead of the bad."
"Like what?" Twilight asked.
"Like the firends I have for starters." Spyro replied. "How I'm so lucky to have a herd who I love and care about. And most importantly, how lucky I am to be having a child with one of the mares I love." He could see twilight smile, what he was saying getting through to her, pulling her in and hugging her, which she hugged him back as she closed her eyes, enjoying the warm embrace. "Now, you got everything packed, right?"
"I did." Twilight replied. "I packed some books incase I get bored, some of the essentials, even packing some parchment, ink, extras of both parchment and ink, extra, extra parchment and ink..."
"Wow, someone didn't follow the list I gave them." Spyro said, teasing her. "Maybe I should do your packing, make sure you have what you actually need."
"Spyro!" Twilight said, both of them laughing as he hugged her, lightening the mood.
"I'll meet you at the station Princess." Spyro said, heading out the door. "Don't take too long, alright? We don't want to be late for the summit."
"Don't worry, I won't be long." Twilight replied.
Spyro smiled and walked out of the library, leaving Twilight alone in the main room, but her happy attitude then disappeared, breathing out as she walked up to her room, getting her bags full of her things when she looked at her crown. Even through she was a princess, she didn't exactly feel like wearing it all the time like Princess Celestia does, but she knew she was going to need it, so she used her magic to levitate the crown up and into her bag, looking in the mirror and looking at her wings, wondering if she was ready for her new roll as a princess, wondering if it was her destiny. But she didn't have time to continue to think about that as she picked up her bags and trotted down the stairs and towards the train station where her friends were waiting for them, getting on the train and riding it all the way to the Crystal Empire. As they rode the train, Spyro was keeping an eye on his Bracers for when AIVA got a strong signal to communicate with Black Panther, hoping he could strike a deal with him and hopefully to earn his trust to where they could make the deal without him being attacked.
A while later, they arrived at the Crystal Empire where the summit was being held, getting off of the train and walking towards the Empire as the Crystal Ponies were getting everything ready while Spyro and the girls were walking in, a large container floating right behind the group as they walked to the castle.
"Can ya believe it Twilight?" Applejack asked. "You and Spyro will be attending yer first summit. The both of ya must be excited."
"I am excited AJ, but also a little nervous." Twilight replied.
"You're nervexcited!" Pinkie said, bouncing up and down. "It's like you want to jump up and down and go, ya me! But also curl up into a teeny tiny ball and rock back and forth, hiding at the same time!" She then made a noise that sounded similar to the transformers transforming, looking up at Twilight with a smile. "We've all been there."
"I'm there almost every day." Fluttershy said.
"Don't worry little Bookworm, you got nothing to be worried about." Spyro said, wrapping his wing around her. "We'll be there right by you-"
"Twilight!" Rarity exclaimed, looking scared. "I don't mean to be nervous, but where is your crown!? You didn't leave it in Ponyville, did you?"
"No, it's in my bag." Twilight replied. "I'm just not use to wearing it all the time. Heck, I'm not even use to having wing's yet."
She tried to fly, flapping her wings, but falling to the ground and making Twilight cringe.
"Why Twilight, you're a princess now." Rarity said. "You must embrace your new role. Why, if I had a crown, I'd never take it off! I'd sleep with it on!"
"That'd make for a very bad nights sleep." Spyro said.
"Spyro, how the heck are you so good at flying?" Twilight asked. "I mean, you're human most of the time, how are you able to fly so well?"
"Oh, that's simple." Spyro replied. "From time to time, I change into my dragon form and practiced. It just came naturally for me."
"Yeah, well, feels pretty awkward for me." Twilight replied.
"Don't worry little Bookworm, we'll help ya practice." Spyro said, hugging her. "Now, we better get going. Don't want to keep the princesses waiting."
They walked into the castle and passed many of the guards and servants that were present, heading straight for the throne room and as they arrived, the doors opened and a fanfare of horns blew, announcing their arrival as they walked in, the guards shimmering as they walked in. They looked around and saw the kind of reception they got when twiligth ran into one of the guards, who was a orange pegasi wearing golden armor like the royal guards in Canterlot, but he wasn't shimmering like the others were.
"His and her highnesses, Princess twilight Sparkle, and Prince Spyro VanVickle!" The guard said, backing away as he seemed nervous.
Standing in front of the throne were the three princesses, Cadence coming down first to greet them.
"Twilight, it's good to see you again." Cadence said.
"Sunshine, sunshine, ladybugs awake! Clap your hooves and do a little shake!" The two princesses chanted, doing their normal greeting as they laughed.
"It's only been a couple of days Cadence." Spyro said, walking up. "It's not like it's been two years or something like that."
"Yeah, says the pony who gets to see her everyday." Cadence replied.
"We have much to discuss." Princess Celestia said. "But first, Spyro, have you brought what I have requested?"
"I have princess." Spyro replied. The slide on the bracers backed away on it's own as Spyro inputting a command, activating whatever was int he crate he brought along as it opened up and a couple dozen Stingray Attack Drones flew out, hovering in the room as the guards looked at them with amazement. "The Stingray Attack Drones are ready to go. They'll help patrol the kingdom while the summit is going on. And for added protection, I brought some probe droids to patrol at night and activate the drones if something comes in the middle of the night."
"Very good Spyro." Celestia said. "I have faith in your machines and their ability to keep us safe. But you all look exhausted. Get some rest, for tomorrow is the summit."
The group all left the throne room to get to their guest rooms, chatting about the summit tomorrow while Spyro got to work programing the drones and droids patrol patterns. As the sun was setting, Spyro had finished up uploading the Probe Droids patrol patterns while letting the drones recharge their batteries during the night, making sure they were fully charged for if there was trouble. As he was making his way back to his room, he noticed the lights on in Twilight's room, walking over and looking in to see her looking in the mirror, putting her crown on as she looked at herself, knowing that as a princess, it wasn't just her appearance that changed, but also her responsibilities and how she would have to act as everyone will be looking to her to set an example, afraid of what would happen if she embarrassed herself. Spyro the knocked on her door, letting her know he was there as he entered.
"Can't sleep?" Spyro asked.
"Oh, Spyro." Twilight said, taking the crown off. "Did I wake you?"
"No, you didn't." Spyro replied. "I just finished programming the probe droids patrol routes. Why are you still up?"
"Well, it's just... I'm woried." Twilight said, turning to him. "What if I'm not a good ruler? What if I do something that will put all of Equestria in jeopardy and I can't fix it!? I don't know if I'll make a good leader."
"Twilight, you'll make a wonderful leader." Spyro said, lifting her head so their eyes met. "You did great leading the others in my absence when my heart was shattered. You're a great leader."
"But I'm not like you Spyro." Twilight said, walking to the window. "You're the one who purified the princess and turned Discord back to stone, helped to expel the changelings from Canterlot, and even defeated King Sombra. I don't know Spyro, I don't think I'm ready to be a leader yet."
Spyro could sense how upset she was, seeing how unsure of herself she was, so he walked over to her and hugged her, planting a little kiss on her cheek as he tried his best to comfort her.
"Twilight, Princess Celestia wouldn't have made you a princess if she didn't have faith in you." Spyro said. "As for your other worries, a princess can't always be perfect or come up with a way to fix everything on her own. You have myself and your friends to call on to help you when you need it."
"Y-you really think I'll make a good ruler?" Twilight asked.
"I know you will Twilight." Spyro replied, continuing to hug her as she hugged him back. "I know you will. Now come on, let's get you to bed." Spyro escorted her to her bed, the newest princess getting in bed to get some sleep. "You got a busy day tomorrow." Spyro tucked her in and was about to leave when he heard her struggle and grunt, turning back to see her trying to get comfortable as her wings shot out, making her groan in frustration while Spike covered his head with the blanket. "You ok Twi?"
"Ugh, how the heck do you, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy sleep with these things?" She asked, bringing them to to sleep, but they shot out, annoying her. "Ugh, I can't get to sleep! I try to, but I get into a very uncomfortable position!"
"Need help?" Spyro asked.
"No, I got this." Twilight said, pulling her wings in and tucking them and lying on her back. "There, got it." She then tclosed her eyes to sleep, but her wings shot out, making her wake up and yell in frustration as she sat up, face planting into the pillow. "I give up."
"Here, let me help." Spyro said, walking over and gently taking one of her wings, feeling how tense they were. "Ah, there's your problem. You're still stressing over being a princess. And when you're stressed, your wings will get tense, causing the muscles in them to tense up and flare. Here, I know just the thing to help."
He then started to gently massage the wing, which made her gasp at the feeling of him massaging her wing, the sensation feeling very strange to her, but also feeling divine to her as she started to relax a bit, her cheeks turning pink as she looked at him, continuing to have her wings massaged as she started to fall asleep, Spyro looking at her and seeing she was lightly snoring as he gently folded her wings in and turned her around gently, putting her on her back so she could rest comfortably. He then tip-toed out of the room to let her sleep as he gently closed the door, letting her sleep so she could be ready for tomorrow.
"Hey Spyro." Shining Armr said, walking over.
"Oh, hey Prince Armor." Spyro replied.
"Oh, just call me Shining Armor." He replied. "Not quite use to being called a prince yet."
"I know that feeling pal." Spyro replied. "What are you doing still awake?"
"Just making sure everything is ready for tomorrow." Shining Armor said. "What were you doing in Twilight's room?"
"She's stressing herself out." Spyro replied. "She's worried about tomorrow, causing the muscles in her wings to get tense and flare everything time she tried to sleep."
"Yeah, I can kinda understand what she's going through." Shining Armor said as they walked together. "When I first got married to Cadence, it was a huge change for me. And being made prince of the Crystal Empire, it was a lot to get used to."
"Tell me about it." Spyro said. "When I was made the Prince of Light and Darkness three years ago, it was a huge change for me. I mean, I was just a regular guy, going to work, minding my own business when I was pulled from my old life and brought here. And you know what, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world." He then stopped, looking out the window and remembering his old life as Captain Armor stopped next to him. "I'm now a Keyblade warrior, I have eight beautiful mares in my herd, and I'm going to be a father. If you ask me, this life is far better than my old one."
"Heh, I bet it is." Shining Armor said, the two of them continuing on their way. "Well, we better get some sleep. Tomorow's a big day."
"In a bit." Spyro replied. "I'm going to check the corridors, make sure everything is secured before heading to bed."
"Alright then." Shining Armor said. "See you in the morning."
Shining Armor left the prince alone as he looked out the window, remembering his old life and how much he missed it, but then looked at the corridors the members of his herd were currently in, smiling to himself as he continued on his way to make one last check, making sure security was tight. That night, the castle was quiet and peaceful as the moon rised high in the sky, but as the guards were paking their patrols, a light came from a room that a guard had just passed and from it, a cloaked figutre came out, making sure the coast was clear before leaving the room. She walked the halls to try and find something, checking each of the rooms looking for what she was after when she heard something, hiding behind a pillar as one of the Probe Droids levitated by, surprising the pony as she never saw something like it before.
The Probe did a quick visal scan, creating a beam of holographic light to scan the area as she hid behind a crystal pillar, just avoiding being spotted as the probe turned away from her and continnued dow the hall, the pony breathing a sigh oif relief whent he probe turned, making her press against the pillar as it had heard her, approaching her position as it made some sounds, communicating with the others as she popped out, charging a beam of magic and hitting the probe in the visor, destroying it and making it drop as she rushed away. As she destroyed it, an alarm went off on Spyro's Bracers, looking down at them to see what was wrong when he saw one of his probes was destroyed, tracing it's last known position as he rushed towards it.
At Twilight's room, the intruder opened the door and opened it quietly, making sure not to wake the sleeping princess up and the baby dragon as the little guy was snorring away, walking up to the nightstand where Twilight's crown was as she used her magic to levitate it, smiling to herself as she examined it.
"Too easy." She whispered to herself.
She put the crown in her cloak and took out a replica of Twilight's crown, putting it on the nightstand but accidently knocking the lamp over, quickly catching it with her magic and making sure she didn't wake anyone up, finding they were still asleep. She then snuck out o the room and closed the door, continuing to smile to herself, but as she turned to leave, Spyro was standing there, tapping his hoof to the ground as the thief froze in place, surprised he found her.
"You know, if you're going to steal something, make sure you don't break one of my probes and alert me to your presence." Spyro said, looking annoyed.
"But... how?" She asked. "I destroyed that thing before it could make a sound?"
"It's connected to my bracers." Spyro replied, lifting them to show them off. "If one is destroyed, it sends me it's last known location and I can track whoever broke it. And judging by how you're dressed, I don't think you're here to sneak a peak at the new princess. Now, give me the crown, and we can forget this every happened."
"Right, like I'm going to give up one of the most powerful Elements of Harmony." Teh thief said. "Forget it."
Before she could run, the Stingrays came and surrounded her, making her look around as laser sights activated, pointing at her as their eyes glowed yellow.
"Listen, we can do this the easy way, and you can enjoy the Summit in the morning, or the hard way and you spend some time in the dungeon." Spyro said, approaching her, lifting his foreleg to take the crown. "Now, what's it going to be?" The pony looked at him, looking around at the Stingrays as they were ready to open fire, so she took out the crown, levitating it and looking at it before moving it towards Spyro, smiling as she made the right decision, but she then moved the crown and blasted him with a strong beam of magic, taking a couple of Stingrays out as the others opened fired, jumping over them and running down the halls to get away. "All Stringray, activate immediately! We have an intruder in the castle! Set blasters to stun, I want her alive!"
"What's going on?" Twilight asked, coming out of her room. "I heard your machines attacking something?"
"We have an intruder in the palace." Spyro said, getting up. "She took your crown."
"What!?" Twilight asked.
She looked to the thief and ran after her to get her crown back and Spyro was about to pursue them, but his nose detected her scent again, tracking it as he had an idea of where the thief would go, following the scent back to where she came from. With Twilight, she was chasing the thief as alarms blared, waking everyone up as they saw the thief and the stingrays going after her, wondering what was going on as Twilight ran by.
"She took my crown!" She shouted. "Somepony stop her!" Without waiting, the others ran after the thief, Twiligt teleporting in front of her and blocking her way. "Got you now!"
But the pony charged up the magic in her horn, teleporting the same way Twilight did, but her cloak didn't teleport with her, revealing she was a yellow unicorn with a red and yellow mane and tail with a sun like cutie mark, but it was yellow and red, the pattern yin-yang like. She kept on running, heading for the room she came out of and finding no one was there, smiling as she believed she was hope free when Spyro appeared out of camoflage, surprising her as she ran straight into him and fell to the ground, rubbing her head as he stood over her.
"Good effort, but not good enough." Spyro said. "Say, you're kinda cute. Tell you what, give back the crown, and we can talk this out wiht the princesses."
But she wasn't interested in talking, growling at him, she turned and without warning, kicked him right between the legs, making Spyro's irises shrink to the size of pin needles as he collapsed to the ground, groaning in pain as she got up, but before the pony could get away, Twilight tackled her to the ground, but caused her crown to bounce into a nearby mirror, teleporting away as they all gasped, the thief smiling as she now had what she needed within reach.
"What did you do to my crown!?" Twilight demanded.
"Sorry it had to be this way... princess." She replied.
She then teleported herself out of twilight's grasp and appeared next to the mirror, smiling at the group as she walked through the mirror and made them gasp again while Spyro pulled himself up, keeled over in pain as he tried to walk, but groaned as he tried to walk.
"Right in the cajones." Spyro said, his voice high pitched and cartoonish.
"Who was that?" Fluttershy asked.
After Spyro had recovered enought to walk right, they woke up the other princesses and informed them of what had just happned, describing the pony that had stolen Twilight's crown and the mirror that she went through.
"I know of this pony you speak of." Princess Celestia said. "Her name is Sunset Shimmer. She's a former student of mine. She began her studies with me not long before Twilight. However, unlike you Twilight, when she didn't get what she wanted, she became cruel and dishonest, delving into the darkness and into her hate and anger."
"I'm all too familiar with what happens when the darkness takes control." Spyro said, remembering when he almost destroyed Pete in anger.
"I tried to help her as best as I could, but shortly after, she abandoned her studies and decided to follow her own path." Celestia continued. "One that led to the theft of your crown Twilight."
"She tried to replace her crown with a fake one." Spike said, showing it.
"She probably thought you wouldn't notice it was replaced until it was too late." Celestia said. "But knowing Spyro, he'd have noticed it right away if it was fake or not."
"But, where did she take my crown though?" Twilight asked. "It's the Element of Harmony and we need to get it back."
"And we will Twilight." Celestia said, looking to her friends. "Come with us, all of you. You'll soon learn there is more to this place than even we know of."
They walked ott he room that held the mirror that Sunset Shimmer ran through, standing before it as they looked at it.
"I can sense a lot of power coming from this thing." Spyro said.
"I should hope so love." Luna replied. "For this mirror is a gateway to another world. One that only opens once every thirty moons."
"Sparkly! Pinkie said, putting her hoof on it as the princess had to remove it.
"So basically, every thirty years, this thing will open." Spyro said. "But she still looked pretty young for being in her fourties to early fifties if it's open now."
"Originally, it was kept in canterlot, where we could keep an eye on it." Luna said. "But we then sent it here for Princess Cadence to watch."
"I always hoped she would return and want to continue her studies, seek my guidance." Celestia said. "Looks like I was wrong."
"Twilight, you must go to this other world and get the Element of Harmony back." Cadence said. "Without it, the other elements are powerless and Equestria is defenseless."
"I'll go with her." Spyro said. "I can track her in this new world. We will be able to find her without any issue."
"Then go with her love." Luna said. "And be swift. Twilight Sparkle's Element of Harmony does not belong in such a place. In Sunset Shimmers hooves, she will no doubt use it to bring great harm to the inhabitants of that world."
The two of them got their saddle bags on and were ready to go through when Princess Celestia put her hoof on Twilight, stopping her before she could go through.
"You understand the importance of your task?" She asked.
"We do." Twilight replied.
"Good." Celestia said. "Then make haste."
The both of them walked towards the mirror, ready to go in when Rainbow Dash stopped them.
"Hold on a moment there you two." Rainbow Dash said. "If you're going, we're going with you!"
"Yeah, we're stronger together." Applejack said. "We've shown that time and time again."
"I'm so nervexcited!" Pinkie said, ready to explode. "We get to go to another world together again!"
"I'm sorry everypony, but you cannot go with them." Celestia said.
"What!?" Rainbow Dash exclaimed loudly. "Why the heck not!?"
"Sending all of you will upset the ba;ance of this alternative world." Celestia said. "It would cause havoc that may make it impossible for Twilight to get the crown back. This is something Spyro and Twilight must do alone."
"But be quick." Luna said. "On the thrid day, when the moon is at it's peak, the gateway will close and it'll be another thirty moons before you can come home."
"Don't worry everyone, we'll be back before you know it." Spyro said, hugging them all together. "We'll return before the gateway closes. I promise."
Everyone was nervous for their friends, Applejack especially as he hugged him the tightest, fearing he may not return if they don't make it through the gateway in time. After ending the hug, Spyro and Twilight approached the mirror, the new princess putting her hoof on the mirror and it went through, pulling it back out as Spyro put his hoof on her shoulder, making her look at him.
"Together." Spyro said.
Twilight nodded and they both walked through the mirror together, everyone watching them go through, but Spike panicked, running ahead as everyone screamed for him to stop as the three of them went through the gateway. The first out of the gateway was Spyro, landing on his feet and looking around, findng they were in the new world as he looked aroun to make sure no one spotted them when he spotted an unconcious girl, her skin purple with indigo hair and a pink and purple stripe like Twilights hair, wearing a light blue shirt, a purple skirt with a star on it like Twilight's, when it hit him, the unconcious girl was Twilight. Before he could go help her, he heard someone screaming, looking up and seeing a statue of a horse and from the statue, a putple dog with green ears and eyes shot out, Spyro catching the pup, but recognized the scream.
"Spike?" Spyro asked.
"Spyro?" Spike asked, looking at himself and freaking out. "What the heck happened to me!?"
"Spike, calm down." Spyro said, setting the transformed baby dragon down. "Looks like you were changed to bend into this world, much like the other worlds would do to keep the world order stable."
"But... where's Twilight?" Spike asked.
"Spike?" Twilight said, rubbing her head. "Spike, you're not supposed to be..." She then paused, seeing Spike as a dog while seeing Spyro in his human form, confusion coming to her as she looked at them both. "Uh, what's going on Spyro? Why is Spike a dog?"
"Uh, Twilight... try not to freak out." Spyro said. "But..."
Twilight looked at her hooves, or hands as it were now as she was now a human, her eyes shrinking as she let out a ear piercing scream, making Spyro and Spike cover their ears as she screamed in fear. Spyro rushed over and covered her mouth, stopping her from screaming more and making a scene, but when she stopped screaming, she looked at her hands, freakign out as she moved her fingers and freaked out more, looking at herself and having a panic attack.
"Twilight, pull yourself together!" Spike said.
"He's right twi." Spyro said. "Calm down, take a few deep breaths. Relax."
Twilight did as asked, taking in a deep breath and relaxing, going on her hands and knees as she looked at Spyro.
"What does the rest of me look like?" Twilight asked.
"You look like a human." Spyro replied. "I guess in this world, we're... oh no."
"What?" Twilight asked. "What's wrong? Is it a monster?"
"Worse." Spyro said, looking at a building and recognizing what it was. "It's high school."
Twilight looked at the building Spyro was starring at, wondering why he would be scared of it.
"You mean the castle?" Twilight asked.
"Twilight, that's no castle." Spyro replied. "It's a school. High School to be precise. And let me tell you, I have some bad memories of High School."
She then turned and looked at the statue, putting her hand through it and finding it was changed back into a hoof, pulling it out and looking at it.
"Looks like this statue serves as the portal back home." Twilight said, looking to the High School. "Guess we'll have to search this 'High School' for my crown first."
"Good place to start." Spyro said. Before he could walk, Twilight grabbed Spike and put him on her back, running like a pony much to the amusement of the others kids while Spyro face smacked himself, knowing this was going to be a very long day as he ran up and stopped Twilight, picking her up and making her stand on two legs. "Twilight, if you're going to blend in, you're going to have to learn how to walk on two legs, not four."
"What do you mean?" Twilight asked.
"Humans walk on two legs Twilight." Spyro replied. "We don't run or crawl around on our hands and feet like that. If you do that, you're going to draw some unwanted attention."
"Well... what do I do?" Twilight asked.
"Baby steps." Spyro replied. "First, one foot in front of the other." Twilight looked at Spyro, a little nervous as she started with her right foot, walking forward and stumbling a bit before trying her left foot, wobbling as she was about to fall, but Spyro caught her, helping to keep her steady as she straightened up. "Good start. Trust me, you'll get use to it as you walk on two legs for a while."
"This feels... weird." Twilight said.
"Hey, at least you don't have those pesky wings anymore." Spike said.
"I'd rather have them and go everyday like this." Twilight replied. "How the heck do you humans walk around like this?"
"It's how we go about everyday." Spyro replied. "Trust me, took me a little time to get used to walking on all fours when I first came to your world."
Spyro helped her for a bit, helping her to get her balance and use to walking on two legs, though she was still a little wobbly, she got the hang of it before long and was able to walk on her own, for the most part. They reached the door that would take them into the High School and she moved her head, expecting the doors to open on their own when she ran into them, falling on her rear while Spyro face smacked himself again as she rubbed her head.
"I... I don't understand." Twilight said. "Why didn't it open?"
"That's because in this world, you can't use your magic." Spyro replied.
Twilight gasped, flexing her fingers and a second later, her Keyblade appeared, spooking Spyro.
"If magic doesn;t work here, how come I can summon my Keyblade?" Twilight asked.
"Twilight, put that away!" Spyro said, the pony turned human dismissing the blade as he helped her up. "The Keyblade is the only exception, for it can be called by their bearers. But humans, minus a select few, don't have the capacity to use magic."
"So... what do we do?" Twilight asked.
"Just... try to act normal." Spyro replied, grabbing the handle. "Observe what I do and make mental notes about how humans act. In this world, there's nothing more cruel than a teenager."
They entered the school and as they did, they walked over to the glass case, which was when Twilight looked at her own reflection and gasped, feeling her face as she saw herself.
"Wow, I really do look different." Twilight said, looking at the glass case. "I wonder if these other artifacts were stolen from Equestria as well by Sunset Shimmer."
Spyro rolled his eyes, rubbing the temple of his head as this was going to be a very long trip, but before he could explain what the trophies were in he glass case, the bell rang and like a swarm of angry hornets, students from all ages came out of the classrooms, walking about the corridors and swarming the pair as Spyro was pushed around, loosing sight of Twilight and Spike as he tried to get out of the sea of students, finally getting ot as he dusted himself off.
"That's one reason I hate High School." Spyro said, correcting his jacket. "Crowded corridors." He tried to walk away before running into someone else, looking down to see a guy wearing a black leather jacket, white shirt and blue jeans, blue hair and yellow skin, rubbing his head as he got hit hard. "Oh, sorry pal. Wasn't paying attention."
"Ah, it's fine." The guy said, grabbing Spyro's hand as he helped him up. "Taken worse hits from lockers." he got his books and looked at Spyro, lookign at him quizically as he didn;t see him before. "You new to Canterlot High?"
"Oh, yeah, I am." Spyro replied. "Just got here and wanted to check the place out with my girlfriend, Twilight. Speaking of..." He looked back to the sea of people, trying to find Twilight. "I think I lost her as soon as the bell rang. She's not exactly used to large crowds." He then spotted Twilight crawling out form the sea of people rolling away as she and Spike got free form them. "Ah, there she is now. Twilight!"
"Spyro." Twilight said, being help up by him.
"You ok?" Spyro asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Twilight replied. "But this place is a mad house. How the heck can anypo-"
Spyro then held up his hand, silencing her as he turned to the guy he just met.
"She was home schooled for the longest time." Spyro said. "Not use to so many people in a single building."
"I see." The guy said, looking at them. "Well, be careful while you're here. This place has changed... ever since she changed."
"Ever since who changed?" Spyro asked.
"Listen, I'd love to stay and chat, but I need to get to class." The guy said. "Nice meeting you guys."
He then walked away, leaving Spyro, Twilight, and Spike alone in the hall as the corridors started to clear up, walking around and looking at everyone, but for Spyro, they seem very familiar to him, recognizing soem of them as they went along as the music started.
[Twilight Sparkle]
I've never seen a place quite like this,
Everything is turned around,
This crazy world is upside down!
She then tripped, falling to the ground and groaning as Spyro helped her up, grateful he was there to help her.
Getting on my feet,
it's the hand that I was dealt!
But I don't have much time with them,
Got to learn all that I can!
As they walked, twilight observed how everyone was acting, going about their day, talking with one another to try and learn everything she could while staying close to Spyro, seeing one couple holding hands, so she reached down and grabbed Spyro's hand, though it felt weird to her, Spyro held her hand, making her smile to have someone be there for her.
"Scootaloo, you ok?" Spyro asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Scootaloo replied. "Wait, how do you know my name?"
Spyro then cringed, knowing that his big brother instincts might have screwed them when he saw her name on her jacket, relieved as he had a good excuse to know her name.
"Your jacket has your name on it." Spyro replied, making her look at her jacket.
"Oh yeah, forgot I had that there." Scootaloo said. "Well, thanks for the save mister. That would have been a total wipeout if you hadn't caught me."
"Anytime little daredevil." Spyro said.
"Daredevil?" Scootaloo asked, thinking about it. "I kinda like that."
"Hey Scootaloo!" Someone shouted. They all looked up to see two more girls running in their direction. one of the girls had red hair and a pink bow, all too familiar to Spyro while the other has a light lavender and pink hair with white skin, shocking him as he recognized them both as Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle. "Ah told ya not to go ridin' on ahead of us!"
"Sorry girls, got a bit excited." Scootaloo said. "Hey, you ever seen this guy before?"
"Not me." Apple Bloom replied. "New face to me. How about you Sweetie Belle?"
"Never seen him before." Sweetier Belle said. "I would know. Rarity would be all over this guy of she saw him."
"Yeah, my girlfriend and I just got here." Spyro replied.
"Oh, your girlfriend?" Sweetie Belle asked, looking at Twilight as she waved nervously. "Well, you may want to be careful around Rarity. She's got a thing for cute boys. Anyway, we better get to class, or else we'll be in detention again."
"Oh yeah, gotta hurry!" Scootaloo said. "Don't want to flunk math again. See you laster mister!"
The three of them took off towards their class, leaving the three of them alone in the hall in disbelief as they watched them leave.
"Scootaloo?" Twilight asked. "As in... your little sister? That Scootaloo?"
"I know." Spyro said, watching them round the corner. "Freaky."
"Freaky?" Twilight asked. "Try scary."
The music continued as they looked at all of the students, finding they resembled their friends back in Equestria, a blonde haired girl with yellow crossed eyes, much like Derpy, a person who looked just like Ms. Cheerilee, even seeing the two school bullies laiughing at everyone, realizing that this world was an alternative version of their Equestria.
They don't use any magic or fly with any wings,
I don't get these funny clothes, skinny legs or tiny nose!
Everything's confusing when it seems so new,
But I look a little closer and it starts to feel familiar too!
[Chorus: Twilight Sparkle]
What a strange new world ([Spyro, choir] What a strange new world)
I'm trying to make heads or tails,
Of this strange new world ([Spyro, choir] What a strange new world)
Sorting through the small details,
Of this strange new world!
What a strange new world.
They continued to walk through the corridors, lookign at everyone and seeing how familar they looked as they walked through, Twilight looking at a door she saw to be a bathroom and stopped.
"I need to use the little fillies room real quick." Twilight said.
"Alright little Bookworm." Spyro said. "I'll wait out here."
Twilight entered the bathroom while Spyro leaned against the lockers, waiting for his girlfriend to come out when he looked at the door, seeing it was a mens bathroom she entered and freaked out, openin the door to pull her out, but then closed it, his face turning red as he took his jacket off and wrapped it around Twilight, muffling her annoyance as he took her out of the boys bathroom and into an empty classroom, turning his back to her as she looked at him.
"Spyro, what the heck!?" Twilight shouted.
"Twilight, why were you taking your blouse off!?" Spyro asked, keeping his back to her as she had it half off.
"Why should I wear these clothes when I don't usually wear them in Equestria?" Twilight asked, removing his jacket. "I mean, they're comfy and all, but I don't get it."
"Well, how do I put this." Spyro asked. "You know how i wear my jacket all the time, right?" Twilight nodded her head. "Well, humans don't exactly go walking around in the nude. We don't exactly have tails to cover out back sides... or our front.'
Twilight thought about that for a moment, but when it clicked, her entire face went red, looking down her half unbuttoned shirt and used her arms to cover her chest, feeling embarrassed as she rebuttoned her blouse.
"Ok, I see your point." Twilight said. "Um, but... one question. Why are my-"
"Twilight, we don't have time to go over the differences in pony and human anatomy." Spyro said, quickly stopping her. "It's not appropriate for a boy to even begin to discuss how girl anatomy works with changing the rating on this story!"
"Alright, alright, changing the subject." Twilight said, giving Spyro's jacket back to him. "So, where do we begin looking for-"
"Oh, I-I'm really sorry." A girls said, both of them turning thinking they got caught, but saw no one there, walking to the door to see what was going on.
"Did that voice sound familiar to you?" Twilight asked.
"Yeah, sounded like Fluttershy." Spyro replied.
They opened the door to see what was going on, finding a pink haired girl being cornered by a red and yellow haired one, who was wearing a black leather jacket, Spyro recognizing her immediatly as Sunset Shimmer.
"I just found it and thought I should give it to her." Fluttershy said, looking nervous. "I didn't know you had dropped it."
"Well I did." Sunset Shimmer replied. "And I was about to get it when you came in and took it. You shouldn't take things that don't belong to you."
"It doesn't belong to you either." Fluttershy said quietly.
"What's that!?" Sunset Shimmer exclaimed, making Fluttershy yelp. "No wonder you prefer the company of animals. You're so pathetic!"
"Hey!" Spyro exclaimed, walking down the hall towards them and getting their attention. "You got a problem with her?"
"Back off pal!" Sunset Shimmer said. "This is a private conversation."
"More like you're harrassing her." Spyro said, getting in front of her. "What give the likes of you the right to attack defenseless students?"
"You must be new around here, so I'll only tell you this once." Sunset Shimmer said. "Cross me again, and it'll be the last mistake you every make."
"Then how about you quit picking on people like that?" Twilight said, walking over and crossing her arms.
"Same goes for you new girl." Sunset Shimmer said, pushing her out of the way. "Here, I can speak to whoever I feel like speaking to, however I feel like it."
To prove her point, she walked by a few other students, one of which running into a locker to avoid her as she gave a wicked smile, SPyro and twilight glarring at the bully as she was leaving.
"I can't believe you did that." Fluttershy said, looking at them nervously, but when she looked at Spyro, her heart was racing, feeling something she never felt before as her face turned red.
"Well we couldn't let her talk to you that way, not could we?" Spyro asked.
"Well, it's just... no one's ever stood up to Sunset Shimmer like that before." Fluttershy said.
"That was Sunset Shimmer!?" Twilight asked, looking back as she went around the corner.
"You heard of her?" Fluttershy asked.
"Sort of." Spyro replied. "Don't worry about her little butterfly. Stick with us, and you'll be alright." Human Fluttershy then held her hands against her chest, feeling hr heart racing after being called little butterfly as her stomach started to turn, not knowing what to do or say as she looked at him. "You ok there? You look a little red."
"Oh, uh, I'm fine." She replied, calming down. I don't think I've seen you two before. Did you transfer?"
"Well, sort of." Spyro replied. "We're just having a look around. My name is Spyro. And this is my girlfriend Twilight Sparkle."
"Girlfriend?" Fluttershy asked, seeing him wrap his arm around her shoulders. "Oh, I see. I'm... Fluttershy." She then looked down and saw Spike, getting excited when she saw him. "Oh my goodness!" She said, nearly knocking Twilight over as Spyro caught her. "And who's this little cutie wutie?"
"Oh, that's Spike." Twilight said. "He's my, uh, dog."
"Oh, he's so cute." Fluttershy said, scratching him before pulling out a dog treat. "Go one, eat up pup." Spike was hesitant at first to get the dog treat, nibbling it at first before he took the whole thing, eating it up as his tail was wagging. "Aw, he's so adorable. Wouldn;t you do anything to know what they're thinking?"
"Oh, trust me, he's quite the talker." Twilight said, Spyro wincing as she said that.
"What do you mean?" Fluttershy asked.
"Oh, nothing." Spyro said, answering quickly. "She means he's got the tendancy to bark whenever he feels like it." As if understanding what to do, Spike started to bark like a dog, diverting the attention away from them to make it believable. "So, Sunset said you picked something up. What was it?"
"It was a crown." Fluttershy replied, getting up. "I found it outside in the fields while I was passing out fliers for the animal shelter, like I usually do every wednesday and knew it didn't belong there, so I picked it up and gave it to Principal Celestia."
"Principal Celestia?" Twilight asked, Spyro motioning for her to stop.
"Where can we find her?" Spyro asked. "It's inportant."
"Well, she and Vice Principal Luna are usually in their offices." Fluttershy replied.
"Great, where are their offices?" Spyro asked.
"Third door on your left that way." Fluttershy said, pointing down the corridor.
"Thanks." Spyro said. "Come on Twi, we gotta go talk to her."
"Wait, before you go, you'll need to hide Spike." Fluttershy said. "No pets allowed."
"Oh, right." Twilight said. "Thanks."
A moment later, the bell rang and caused all the students to run back to their class rooms to get to class while Spyro put Spike in Twilight's bag, making him yelp before popping out to snap at him.
"Sorry Spike, but we can't afford to egt in trouble right now." Spyro said. "We need to talk to the principal and we can;t allow anyone to see you."
"Alright, I get it." Spike said. "But be quick. I don't like being crammed in a confined space for very long."
Spike went back into the backpack as they reached the principals office, knocking on the door to let her know someone was there.
"Come in." The princapal said.
They entered the room and saw sitting at a desk was a human version of Celestia, with the same hair, but without it being wavy, wearing a yellow blazer and dark purple dress pants. As they entered, they saw she was looking over some paperwork and looked up to see them enter and stop in front of their desk.
"Principal Celestia?" Spyro asked.
"Yes, I am Principal Celestia." She replied. "How may I help you?"
"Oh, apologies, my name is Spyro." Spyro replied. "Spyro Vanvickle. And this is Twilight Sparkle. We're new here."
"New students?" She asked, looking at the roster. "I don't remember any new students coming in today."
"We just got here." Spyro replied. "We saw your school and wanted to have a look, see what it's like. Uh, you, don't kind that, right?"
"Of course not." Celestia replied, sitting up straight. "Canterlot High is more than welcome to have new students. It's a pretty big school, so students tend to get lost some times." She then looked over to Spyro, his face seemingly familiar to her as she scratched her chin. "Spyro, that's your name, right?"
"Yes it is." Spyro replied.
"Strange, you look familiar." Celestia said. "But... I can't quite place you."
"I probably have one of those faces." Spyro suggested.
"Maybe." Celestia replied. "Anyway, you came at a most special time. We're hosting a dance coming this Friday. Maybe you can join us. And I'm pleased that one of my students found the crown that my sister and I made. Don't know how it got outside."
At the mention of the crown being outside, Spyro and Twilight froze, looking at one another as they knew that their chances of getting the crown back went out the window.
"That's... kind of you to offer." Spyro said. "We'd be more than happy to join."
"Wonderful." Celestia said. "And, I know that it's not quite up to regulations, but I can allow Twilight here to have a chance to run for Princess of the Fall Formal if she would like."
"Of course!" Twilight replied. "I'd be more than happy to participate."
Spyro was nervous about the idea, having to go up against others to get the crown when he spotted the wall with pictures of Sunset Shimmer in them.
"Wow, someone's on a hot streak." Spyro said.
"Oh yes, Sunset Shimmer has won every year." Celestia replied. "She's a very smart student, but her conduct as of late has been... worrisome."
"So, who do we go to inorder to get Twilight signed up for it?" Spyro asked.
"You'll need to talk to the head of the Fall Formal to get signed up for it." Celestia replied. "Is there anything else you need?"
"Nope, we're good." Spyro replied. "Thanks so much Ms. Celestia."
"Well, if you need anything else, my door is always open." Celestia replied. Spyro and Twilight walked out of the office, closing the door behind them, but Celestia kept on scratching her chin, still wondering why Spyro looked so familiar to her. She then flipped a switch, connecting her to Vice principal Luna to ask her something. "Luna, can you run a name for me real quick on someone I just met?"
"Of course sister, I'll get right on it." Luna replied. "Who is it you want me to check?"
"Spyro VanVickle." Celestia replied. "He and who I believe to be a friend of his walked in and the name sounds eerily familiar to me. I don't understand why it's familiar, but I would like for you to run a check for me real quick."
"I'm on it sister." Luna replied. "I'll have the results for you tomorrow afternoon."
Celestia then flipped the switch back, looking back down at the papers as she wondered why he looked familiar to her and who he really was. In the hall, Spyro and Twilight were walking in the corridors, since no one was around, they could talk freely and without anyone overhearing them.
"I don't get it." Spike said, poppoing out. Why didn't you tell her the crown was your and it was stolen from Twilight?"
"You heard what Principal Celestia said Spike." Spyro replied. "She and Luna made the crown, albiet, it's a horrible looking thing, but they really believe it's the one they made. If we went in and told them the crown belonged to Twilight, we'd be thrown out and loose our chance to get it. No, we're going to need to play by this worlds rules to get the crown back."
"So, how do we do that?" Twilight asked.
"First, we need information on how this Fall Formal works and go from there." Spyro said. "Maybe Fluttershy and fill us in on what we can do. Since we helped her, she maybe more comfortable around us and willing to explain how it works." A moment later, another bell rang and everyone came out, heading down the halls to a get to where they were all going at once. "Ah, the lunch bell."
"How do you know that?" Twilight asked. "Is there a special ring to indicate it's lunch time?"
"No, I just looked at my bracers to see the time." Spyro replied, pulling up his bracers and showing it was noon, much to Twilight's embarrassment. "Come on, let's get something to eat. I'm starving. And if we're lucky, Fluttershy will be there too. She might be able to help us win the crown."
"Well, it's worth a shot." Twilight replied. "Let's get going then."
They then walked together, heading to the cafeteria to get some food, but as they were walking, Sunset Shimmer overheard what they said, glarring at them as she hid behind some lockers.
"So, think you have what it takes to go up against me for the crown new girl?" Sunset Shimmer asked, pure venom in her voice. "We'll see about that, now won't we."
She then went the opposite way to start planning on how to get the crown, not noticing that the shadows on the floor were moving and from them, Unversed appeared from the ground, a few Floods looking around as they searched for the course of negative energy, disappearing as. Few students walked by to get some food.
