Chapter 37: The Sleeping Darkness Part 3: Darkness or Light
In the core of the Gummi Garage, Fluttershy was reading the note that came with the brooch she got from a strange being, but all that was on it was a thank you, nothing else and nothing explanation for if it had any magic, just a thank you. She put the note down and stared at the brooch, amazed by the craftsmen ship and how elegant it was until she looked back over to her friends, closing the box and putting it back into her saddle bag, walking over to her friends to see what they were talking about.
"The remaining two shields are still going strong." Twilight said. "But that attack from that red lightning was more than powerful enough to shatter the first."
"Well, what can we do?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Yes Twilight, what shall we do?" Rarity asked. "We can't just let this happen. He must have more of those crystals."
"Negative." AIVA replied. "There was only three Sunlight Crystals in this facility. Dark Spyro holds most of Spyro's powers. But he doesn't have the power of Chaos Control, so the probabilities of success are now 68%."
"But, Princess Luna just turned gold." Twilight said.
"Recalculating." AIVA replied. "Chances of success have increased to 78%."
"Thanks for the vote of confidence." Rainbow Dash said, annoyed and flying over to the meditating royal ponies, Luna still in her super form while a dark aura was surrounding Spyro again. "You better come back lizard boy. You still owe me a race." She then turned back to her friends, making sure none of them were nearby and then flew down, touching the ground and blushing. "And that date you promised me."
Back inside his heart, a vortex opened up and Celestia, Luna, and their companions fell out of it, the Force sides landing on their feet, Tikal levitating to the ground, and the two alicorn gliding down to the ground, landing safely. They looked around and saw they were on another platform, the same one they were on before, but this time they didn't have the temple, only the platform itself and the blank void all around them, nothing but absolute blank.
"The corridor has taken us to the next pathway." Tikal said. "We must hurry or else we will be too late."
"Too late?" Luna asked, her super form finally fading and going back to normal. "Too late for what?"
"Spyro needs our help." Tikal replied, walking to the edge of the platform. "Dark Spyro is a part of Spyro, that he knows to be true. But Dark Spyro seeks complete control, no matter the cost. And so, Spyro is locked in battle with his darker half to keep him from gaining control of his body and all his power like he did before."
"Before?" Luna asked.
"We have no time." Tikal replied, her golden aura appearing and radiating, summoning a new pathway for them to follow. "If Dark Spyro overpowers him, we are all lost."
Tikal then walked onto the platform path, followed by Light and Dark, but Luna was wondering what she meant by before and what her sister knew about Spyro she wasn't telling her. Celestia then walked to the platform, walking across the glass like surface and leaving Luna behind for a brief moment before she finally walked with the group, walking in silence until Luna caught up with her sister, walking by her side as she wanted some answers.
"What did Tikal mean by before?" Luna asked.
"Before coming here, Spyro was first brought to the Mysterious Tower." Celestia replied. "There he started to train in how to use his powers and learning abut his destiny. But on the first day of training, his darker half took over, corrupting him and taking complete control to become the Prince of Light and Darkness." She then looked to her sister, seeing her walk next to her and smiled. "But it was thanks to his friends that he broke free from his control. He defeated his darker half, but now it has returned, seeking to take over once again. And this time, if he takes over, Sora and Riku won't be around to help save him."
As they walked, they passed by a few other purple mists, some whispering promises of power, some whispering to Luna companionship, but they just ignored them, knowing their words were empty promises, but one red mist caught both Luna's and Celestia's eyes, walking over to it, but knew it was a bad idea, but something about it drew them. In it, the mist turned into a window, one that showed their world in flames, their subjects massacred, many in chains, some even willingly slaughtering innocent ponies for their own enjoyment and, at the throne in Canterlot, sat Dark Spyro, on his throne with many bodies before him, the two regal sisters fighting him, but then shattering the Prince's Light that Luna had, allowing darkness to consume her, becoming Nightmare Moon again while he struck down Celestia, the sun turning red as both he and Nightmare Moon laughed, celebrating their victory as the sisters eyes started to turn green from what they were watching. Tikal could sense they were in trouble and using her power, the red mist vanished and the sisters coming out of their trance.
"Do not look into the mist." Tikal said. "That is how he will break your will."
"What do you mean?" Luna asked, rubbing her head as she felt a headache coming.
"Dark Spyro knows you can now use Chaos Control, so he fears you." Tikal replied.
"Not to mention Eclipse helped you, that too has him spooked." Dark added. "Combined with the Prince's Light, you're basically the one pony that he should be afraid of."
Before she could ask why Dark Spyro would be afraid of her, they reached the third platform, this time it was Spyro in his dragon form, flying over a battle field with four other dragons by his side, destroying the Heartless and summoning the power of the Aether. The two sisters were again amazed by the glass platforms art, looking around it until they looked back up, seeing two dragon statures in front of them, one white and the other black as their eyes started to glow, sensing the arrival of the sisters.
"This is it." Tikal said. "The final corridor. This will be your toughest test yet."
"What do you mean this will be the toughest one yet?" Celestia asked.
"The two statues work as guardians." Light replied. "Protectors who guard the final corridor. The only way to open it is if you defeat their champion."
"Their champion?" Celestia asked.
A moment later, the two statues eyes glowed brighter as two different colored flames, blue and red, appeared in front of them, soon turning into fire tornadoes, twisting around until the two of them collided with one another, turning into a purple flame and revealing another dragon, but this one was changing between the eight pillar elements, Fire, Electricity, Ice, Earth, Poison, Wind, Fear, and Shadow. It looked to the sisters and roared out, sending a massive shock wave as eight different colored crystals shot out from the platform, each color corresponding with the element the dragon was using. The sisters took out their weapons and prepared to defend themselves. Before they could react, the dragon turned sickly green and shot out a stream of acidic poison, making the sisters jump into the air and fly around as they also tried to hurt it, slashing and stabbing into it, but the dragon just took the hits like it was nothing, the blows bouncing off him and swiping, biting, even swinging its tail to hit them, but the sisters were too small and too quick for it to do any harm.
"It's no use!" Celestia shouted. "The dragon isn't even fazed by our attacks! Light, Dark, Tikal! We need your help!"
"I do apologize princess, but this is one fight we need to stay out of." Light replied. "Only you two are allowed to fight this one."
"That's just great!" Luna shouted. "And I suppose you won't give us a hint to what we can do yo beat it!?"
"Only you can figure it out." Light replied. "The dragons power, is also its weakness."
"That doesn't help!" Luna shouted.
The sisters flew around the dragon, trying to use magic to do some damage, but each of their spells just bounced off the dragon as well, the beast sending out fire towards Princess Luna and she did manage to dodge it, but lost control of her descent, crashing into the ground and sliding to one of the crystals. She got up and rubbed her head, turning to face the dragon again when her tail accidentally touched the Emerald green crystal, suddenly feeling a surge of energy go through her as she felt her coat feel harder, feeling the earth beneath her and felt like she could take on the world. She saw the dragon change to the same green color and charged forward, feeling the power inside her call out as a ball of spiked earth formed around her body, spinning around as she flew at the dragon and hitting it, the massive creature screeching out in absolute pain from the impact and collapsing to the ground.
"Luna, what did you do?" Celestia asked.
"The crystals, they grant you some kind of power." Luna replied. She then flew back into the air and circled around, this time using the earth to create a blast of rock and energy, kind of like a shotgun blast as she got closer, but the dragon had already changed to a cyan blue color and the attack bounced off it, catching her off guard. "What?"
A second later, the dragon used its tail and smacked Luna out of the air and slammed her into the glass, the dragon walking towards Luna as she got back up, ready to hit her with a blast of ice, but all of a sudden, a stream of ice hit the dragon instead, making it shriek in agony, backing away from the alicorn princess. Luna looked to the dragon and then to where the attack came from, finding her sister flying down with her coat looking a little frosty as she helped her up onto her hooves.
"You were right about then crystals." Celestia said. "They seem to grant some kind of elemental power that can be used to fight this creature."
"But when I hit it, it didn't even flinch." Luna said.
"That's because you used the wrong one when he changed." Celestia replied. "Every time it changes color, it accesses a new element. When it was green, your earth attack could harm it. And when it changed to cyan blue, my ice attacks seem to hurt it. If we use the element that matches its color, we might be able to beat it."
Luna nodded her head, getting up and the two sisters took off again and circled the dragon again, this time whenever the dragon changes its color to use a new element, one of the sisters would touch the crystal and start pelting it with elemental spells and element infused attacks, causing severe damage to the dragon until it had enough, glowing a bright red as it got ready to release a massive fury attack. However, it backfired, the power stored up inside of the dragon grew out of control, releasing a fury of fire tornadoes that ripped through all the crystals, shattering them as a dark aura started to take over the dragon, the massive creature fighting to not fall into darkness. Luna and Celestia could feel the darkness trying to take over the massive dragon, watching as the red beast started to turn black, the corruption taking over. Celestia flew forward to keep the fight going, but was pushed back as the flames made it too intense for her to get anywhere near the dragon.
"Oh no." Tikal said. "Dark Spyro... He's trying to infuse his dark energy into the guardian. If that happens..."
"We need to help." Light said, but Dark stopped them.
"No, let the princess handle it." Dark said. "If she can get a lightsaber and use the chaos emeralds, I have a feeling she can handle this."
Luna then summoned her barrier to get through the flames, but the flames heat was too much for her, flying back at a safe distance to keep safe, but knew she needed to do something and quickly before it's gets out of control. She then flew towards the flames again, this time using the fire element with her barrier to push through the flames, still feeling the heat coming from the fire tornadoes, but it wasn't as bad as before, now understanding some of the magic Spyro was using, understanding how much power he truly had and some of the struggles he faces with temptation and finding a balance in himself to use that power, finding some respect for him even. When she busted through the flames, she saw the darkness had consumed most of the dragon, turning him into something darker, but it managed to fight it off long enough to look at Luna, a look of despair in it's eyes.
"It's over." He said. "Dark Spyro is taking my mind. He's destroying me. I'm too weak."
"Is that all you are going to say?" She asked. "Giving up and letting the darkness win?"
"You don't understand." He replied. "He is far more powerful than you believe. With shadow and wind, he was strong. But now with poison and fear, he has the power of the Dark Aether to give him strength. He is channeling it to corrupt me. And you are not a purple dragon, you cannot use the Aether. There is no hope." She couldn't believe a guardian of the corridor was giving up, letting darkness take over and into his heart, but then she remembered herself, allowing her own jealousy and her own darkness out, letting it consume and corrupt, letting it destroy everything she cared about and nearly killing her sister. "You know what it's like, letting darkness take over. Giving into it and letting it take control. Why are you still fighting? Why come here knowing the darkness will take over. Have you come to destroy me?"
"No, to help you." Luna replied, making the dragon look at her as the darkness reached his neck. "Spyro helped me, he reached out to me and chose to be there when others would be afraid. He saw the light inside of me, a light I thought was gone. He came to me, listened to me and even comforted me when I was about to give up. He never saw a monster, a creature of evil. He saw me for me. A pony who was misguided, allowed negative emotions to fuel me, and who was jealous of her sister." She put her hoof to her chest, still feeling his blade's light and his light still there, smiling as she felt her heart beat as she thought of him. "He helped me to overcome my insecurity, my grief, and my despair when I was ready to give up. And now I feel something for him, for you too. You are a part of him, the dragon side of his magic. And I won't let you fall!"
She charged forward, calling up any kind of magic she could and letting it burn bright as she gave a battle cry, tears flowing from her face as her thoughts went to Spyro, thinking about him when he saved her, watching him in his dreams having fun with his friends, feeling her own heart beat as she felt her own love and admiration for him fuel herself. The dragon watched as the last bit of darkness was about to take over, watching as her blue magical aura suddenly turned purple, purple flames streaking across her wings as she kept yelling, smiling as she finally saw something that he knew she had, cracks appearing across the dark form as his own light shined through. When the princess slammed into his body, the dark shell was destroyed, allowing the power of the Aether to shine forth, expelling the darkness and ending the fire tornadoes. The dragon grabbed Luna as she was falling form the sky, catching her from falling to her death as Celestia watched the dragon land on its paws, Luna waking up and looking around to find herself int eh dragons paw.
"Sister." Celestia said, flying down and hugging her.
"Tia." Luna said, the two still hugging.
"Well done, princess of the night." The guardian said, revealing itself to be a purple dragon. "You have passed the final test."
"Test?" Luna asked, the dragon setting its paw down to let the sisters off. "What test?"
"The test was one of the heart." The guardian replied. "Each corridor tested your heart, what you desired, what you wished to do, and what you are willing to do." He lowered his head to allow his eyes to meet Luna's, blue eyes meeting purple as she smiled. "You passed the test of desires when you refused the desire for a family and for your sins to be erased. You solved the puzzle and wished to redeem yourself of your sins, might not be today, not tomorrow, but you will be redeemed for them, you just needed to let go and focus your mind. And you were willing to plunge yourself into a raging inferno, diving into darkness to help them, speaking your heart and allowing your light to guide your heart."
As he spoke, the eyes on the statues started to glow, a new vortex opening up as a new platform appeared inside of the portal, and on the other side was Spyro and his Darker Half engaged in battle, the sisters watching as they saw their friend fighting for his life, but getting the upper as he just knocked him into the air and grabbed his leg, slamming him into the ground like the Hulk when he grabbed Loki, smashing him into the glass so hard that Dark Spyro's hair popped off his head before going back on, air slowly escaping his lungs as it sounded like he was trying to get air back in him after being Hulked. The sisters were watching in awe, surprised he was still going and looked at each other, then to the dragon.
"He seems to be doing ok." Luna said.
"He's doing better since you guys interfered." Light said, the sisters looking at him in confusion. "Before you guys got through the first corridor, Dark Spyro was mopping the floor with him. But when you guys started to go through the corridors, he used a lot of his own power to try and stop you. With each attempt, he grew weaker and now that he's weaker, Spyro can now finish him." Just as he said it, Spyro got sucker punched and massive bolts of dark lightning electrocuted him, using the Force to slam him into the ground multiple times before barbecuing him. "Or he could use some help."
"We got this." Luna said, confident in her own abilities. "You ready sister?"
"You know it." Celestia replied. "Let's end this. And maybe we get the two of you some alone time."
"Yeah... wait what?" Luna asked, Celestia knocking her into the portal and hoped in after her.
Back in the Core Room, Twilight was keeping an eye on the screens to make sure nothing bad happened while the girls went out to get some food when she felt a sudden chill in the air, turning to find red mist surrounding Spyro as the same destructive scenario the princesses saw was revealed to Twilight, except it was her being corrupted as she destroyed her mentor, making her heart drop and forced her to run out of the room and get some air. Applejack had just gotten back to check on her when she saw Twilight out of the room, using a paper bag as she was hyperventilating, breathing in and out of the bag, calming herself down.
"Twilight, ya'll ok?" She asked, running up to her.
"No, no I'm not alright." Twilight replied. "The mist... destruction... death... evil me!"
"Wow there sugarcube, easy now." Applejack said. "That's the dark side messing with yer head. Keep calm and take a break."
"What's going on?" Pinkie asked, the rest of their friends coming in.
"Dark Spyro is at it again." Applejack replied. "Messed with Twilights head with a vision of destruction or something like that."
"Oh Twilight dear." Rarity said. "You know it's just his darkness trying to mess with you."
"Well, it worked." Twilight said, tossing the bag away. "That vision really shook me up."
The girls were worried their friend, seeing how that vision traumatized her when they heard the alarms go off again, running back into the Core room to find black fire trying to bust through the barrier, destroying the second shield and the second crystal as the flames started it's work on the third shield, Twilight running to the computer to increase it's power just as Luna's magic appeared, turning purple as the darkness was destroyed, the third shield still online, but badly damaged.
"We lost the second shield!" Twilight said. "Spyro's darkness is destroying the shields faster than we can power them up. One more hit and the third shield is history."
"Oh dear, oh my." Fluttershy said, shaking in fear. "What do we do?"
"Simple." Pinkie replied, leaving the room and reappearing next to Twilight, startling her. "We use some cake!"
"Pinkie!" Twilight said. "A party is the last thing on this things mind. We cannot allow it to take him over."
"I know, but he just seems to be a bit of a sourpuss." Pinkie said. "Maybe he just needs a friend and a good laugh, so I prepared this!"
She reached into her mane and pulled out a small cart, a second later, it dinged and cake batter exploded everywhere, covering the mares, who gave her annoyed looks while Pinkie just giggled and laughed, which turned out to be contagious as everyone else joined in on the laughter, the negative feelings disappearing. When the laughter ended, Twilight looked over and saw that a cyan aura had surrounded Spyro, Pinkie's Cutie Mark appearing on his shoulder as a dark aura appeared again, but was then expelled and creating another shield around him.
"Girls, look." Twilight said, pointing to Spyro. "When we laughed, a new shield appeared around him."
"Well how about that." Applejack said. "Seems his darkness didn't expect the power of laughter."
"Warning! Warning! Warning!" AIVA announced, getting everyone's attention. "Control terminal has been damaged. Unknown substance has shorted the circuits and fried the motherboard board."
"What!?" Twilight said, glaring at Pinkie, who smiled nervously. "Is the last remaining shield still working?"
Just as she asked, the last Sunlight Crystal's energy field went down, leaving a cyan colored shield surrounding Spyro, everyone holding their breath as the dark aura reappeared, completely darkening the inside of the dome before a pair of white eyes and a sinister smile appeared, the girls backing away from the face.
"So, you are his friends?" He asked, a sinister smile. "I must admit, he's got good taste. Maybe I'll only destroy half of you, keep the cute ones alive to bear my heirs."
"Hey, back off pal!" Rainbow Dash shouted, flying to the barrier. "You ain't going to hurt my friends!"
"Oh, such fire, such speed and loyalty." He said. "You are definitely a keeper. A challenge to break!"
"Ya'll ain't breakin' anypony!" Applejack said, pulling Rainbow Dash back. "We ain't gonna let ya hurt no pony!"
"That's what you believe orange hillbilly." He responded, Applejack dumbfounded
"HILLBILLY!?" Spyro shouted, the girls shocked to hear that, but none more surprised than Dark Spyro.
"Uh oh." He said, being pulled back into Spyro.
The girls stood in the room, silent to have heard Spyro shout, but then laughing at the surprised look on his darker halves face, the barrier glowing brighter as they laughed. Back in the heart, Luna and Celestia had just come out of the portal, finding Spyro was on the ground unconscious and Dark Spyro was in the air, a window into the real world where he was talking with the mares, giving them a chance to run to Spyro, helping him up as he groaned from the shock treatment he got.
"Spyro, are you ok?" Luna asked.
"Yeah, I'm ok." Spyro replied. "Thanks for asking my shining star."
Luna blushed again, trying hard not to let it show, but failing as her sister just giggled, turning their attention to Dark Spyro, who was busy talking.
"Oh, such fire, such speed and loyalty." He said, talking to Rainbow Dash. "You are definitely a keeper. A challenge to break!"
"Yeah, like he could break her." Spyro whispered. "He'd have a better chance breaking a rotting piece of wood than Rainbow Dash."
"Ya'll ain't breakin' anypony!" Applejack replied, getting into his view. "We ain't gonna let ya hurt no pony!"
"That's what you believe orange hillbilly." Dark Spyro responded.
"HILLBILLY!?" Spyro shouted, getting his attention as he looked back in fear.
"Uh oh." He said.
Spyro shot from the ground into the air, breaking the ground underneath him as he tackled Dark Spyro to the ground, punching him a few times before knocking him back into the air, grabbing his legs and pile driving him into the ground, top half of his body stuck in the ground as Spyro just leapt up and, encasing his fist in earth, punching him in the private area, sending him through the ground and making the mares cringe, thought hey weren't stallions themselves, they knew that must have been beyond painful. A second later, they heard him scream as he fell from the sky, which Spyro turned around and sent dozens of ice spikes into the darker half, the ice shooting out from the ground, piercing his entire body as he fell to the ground, landing with a loud thud.
"No one insults one of my girls." Spyro said, dusting himself off.
The sisters were speechless, seeing the human in front of him knocking the stuffing out of his darker half and then turning him into a pin cushion, which the two princesses made a mental note not to get on his bad side. The two regal sisters ran up to him, glad to see he was back up and he was glad to see them as they approached.
"And I thought my bodyguards were brutal." Celestia said. "I think you just gave him a vasectomy and a few new air holes."
"Trust me, I had something worse in mind for him." Spyro replied, rubbing his hand. "Anyway, glad to see you two made it. I was starting to run out of steam."
"Well, you look like you're handling yourself." Luna said, looking over to the darker half holding his privates as he tried to get up. "But I think the low blow was a bit much."
"Oh don't worry." Spyro replied. "He didn't have any balls to begin with."
The sisters couldn't help but burst out laughing, not expecting him to say something like that, as it instantly broke Luna, the mare rolling on the ground in laughter while Celestia tried to control her laughter, but couldn't as she started to laugh uncontrollably as well, lightening up the atmosphere in the room as Dark Spyro finally got up, but was still hunched over in pain, taking in some deep breaths as he heard their laughter, looking over and seething in anger.
"Oh my... my stomach!" Luna said, still laughing as she got up. "Spyro... you... I never thought I'd hear a pony like you say that."
"Nor did I." Celestia said, still laughing. "That's the least likely thing I'd hear a pony say."
"Eh, spend enough time with a few goofballs and a mare that breaks the fourth wall, you tend to say a good joke or quip every now and then." Spyro said, looking to see his darker half in pain. "Now, what to do with you."
"You!" He said, his eyes no longer pure white, but blood red. "You... Will... PAY!"
He surrounded himself in pure darkness, letting the dark energy flow through him as he called upon the power of the Dark Aether, a dark purple aura surrounding him and he flew into the air, releasing a large amount of darkness into the heart, which outside, his body started to change on its own, spots of darkness started to cover both his physical in Equestria, the girls horrified that their friend was being corrupted, and his human one in his heart where he felt the darkness taking over, growing weaker with each passing second. The two princesses tried to help him, sending out bolts of their magic to hurt him, but he just waved his hand and black ice appeared, blocking the attack. He then sent a blast of air at them, knocking them down and towards Spyro, who was kneeling in pain as he felt the darkness taking over.
"It's too late." He said, hissing in pain. "He's unlocked Dark Aether. We've lost."
"No, don't give up." Luna said, using her magic to block an attack. "You never gave up on us, you always came back every time. you can beat him."
"Not... this time." He said. "I... I allowed him the ability... to get... Dark Aether. We can't... win."
"No Spyro, you're wrong." Luna replied.
As she said it, music started to play, a gentle tune that soon turned into something light and happy as Luna looked to Spyro, a smile on her face as she knew what she needed to do.
[Luna and Celestia]
You believe the fight is lost, a battle that came with a higher cost. [Luna]
But the fight has yet to be, for you can bring a victory. [Celestia]
You were always there for us, now it's our time to be there for you. [Luna]
Nows the time to call on all of us, and not just the few. [Celestia]
Your friends are always there just as you are too. But how's the time for you to fight, to fight for your liiiiiiiiiiiiiight! [Luna]
Outside of his heart, the music was still playing, even though the girls heard it, they didn't care where it came from. They watched as his body's corruption continued and felt the pain in his heart, their own feeling like they were useless and wished they could help their friend.
[Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash]
Even though we cannot know the kind of pain you feel, we are here for you, in order to help you heal. [Twilight Sparkle]
You always looked out for us, even though we made a fuss. You always stood by our side, never running and you never hide. [Rainbow Dash]
Your heart is pure and kind, the good in ponies you will would always find. [Fluttershy]
You always gave us the time of day, to help us no matter what we say. You never did complain or fought, your help we always sought. [Rarity]
We always had so much fun, playing under the sun. Joking, frolicking, and having fun, our time together had only just begun. [Pinkie Pie]
Although you kept some stuff hidden all the time, you never really did lie. You only hide the truth to hide us from evil's eye. [Applejack]
You always kept us safe from danger and from hate, now it's time for us to save you from this faaaaaaaate. [Twilight Sparkle]
In his heart, Spyro could hear his friends, calling out to him, supporting him, even though he was deep in his heart, he could feel theirs as he felt their power. He pushed through the pain he felt, getting back up onto his feet as the darkness on him started to fade, replacing the dark hair he had with his purple hair, feeling all his power come back to him, feeling power in the song they were singing as he called the Aether once again, surrounded in the purple aura as the purple appeared back on his arms, but this time he called forth the power of the chaos emeralds too. A moment later, he was surrounded in golden light as the Aether and Chaos fused together, his hair turning pure gold with patches of purple in it, making it look like an open flame.
Dark Spyro could feel the power coming off him, far more intense than before and sent out several beams of dark energy to destroy him, but he just reached out his hand, the beams hitting it, but he just absorbed the dark energy and turned it into something pure, absorbing the purified Aether and walking towards him.
[Spyro]
I knew the time would come for you to return, but many things I did learn. I thought to fight alone, but their light has always shown. And now I see the time has come to call upon them all. To asked for all their strength and all their might, in order to keep safe, this world's sacred light. To call them now to keep them safe and to never let this world crumble and FAAAAAAAAAALL!
As he sung, a dome of light surrounded him and then the two regal sisters, shattering to reveal the dragon again and two ethereal alicorn, a blue one with the moon behind her and a golden one with the sun behind her. Instead of flying into the sky, the three of them walked forward, forcing dark Spyro to back away as the music went from gentle to intense as it kept going, the three of them fusing into one as Spyro took on a brand new form, his human form now had a gold and blue jacket on with the pattern of the sun and moon all over it with a single purple dragon on the back of the coat. Then two alicorn wings shot out of his back, one white and the other blue, as a single horn came onto his head, blue and white in color and his hair the length of Princess Celestia, just as wavy with white on the right, purple in the center, and blue on the left. He opened his eyes to reveal the royal purple, lavender, and a bluish green.
Then two new Keyblades appeared by his side as the Ultima weapons appeared above his head. On his right side was a blade, thin but strong, with yellow, pink and blue colors on it, the sun itself as the teeth of the blade, white wings as the guard with a golden handle, a sun keychain at the end of it. The other one was about the same in the blades width, but blue and black in color, a crescent moon for the teeth, dark blue alicorn wings with a dark blue handle, and the full moon for the keychain. He spread out his wings and took off, the two clashing their blades as they exchanged blow after blow, but Spyro's power was more than a match for Dark Spyro's as he felt his friends power come to him as well, increasing his own strength as he hacked and slashed at his darker half.
[Spyro, Celestia, Luna]
A darkened heart will never know the power that all my friendships hold. For each and everyone are powerful, their hearts a pure as gold! [Spyro]
Darkness is not the only way, this is something I know and say. For nothing good can come from this darkened fate, it brings forth rage and hate. [Luna]
No matter what you do or what you say, you cannot run from the day. For together we bring the light, to end the hatred and this fiiiiiiiiiiight! [Celestia]
Together we will end this fight, and restore everything that has light. For deep within a darkened heart, that will continue to fiiiiiiiiight! [Spyro, Celestia, Luna]
As they reached the climax of the song, a door appeared behind Dark Spyro, making him look back to find it was already open and tendrils of darkness and light shot out from it, wrapping around his arms and legs, trying to fight back, he tried to use Dark Aether to break his bonds, but to no avail as the dark energy he felt was gone, feeling his power being fully drained as he looked on in horror as Spyro floated forward, getting ready to be destroyed, but he just felt his lighter half's hand on his shoulder, opening his eyes to see him frown at him, sorrow in his eyes.
[Spyro]
For all these years I knew that you would come back, but my training and my time were nothing for me to slack. But now I know the single thing that helps me in the end, it's the friendships that I have made with every single friend. Alone we are weak, but together we are strong. I finally see that doing this on my own was something wrong. For they will have my back and will help, accepting their aid and care doesn't make me weak or a whelp. I hope that someday that you will see the benefit of a friend, but banishment into the void, for you, that is where I must send.
As he was finishing up his song, the bonds slowly pulled Dark Spyro towards the door, struggling to break free, screaming out for help and trying to call his power as the doors closed on him, six locks appearing as the Keyblades from his friends appeared, locking the door and disappearing deeper into his own heart, the threat no longer there as he looked up to his friends through the window, smiling as he found peace in himself.
[Spyro]
Until that day does come, see through my eyes, for nothing shall be blocked from your sight, no darkness and no lies. For you will someday see in my life that nothing will end and be tragic. For you will see that friendship is magiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiic.
As he finished the song, the light in his heart shined forth, flooding the whole room. Outside, a bright light shined forth from Spyro, the girls covering their eyes again to not be blinded, but when the light faded, they looked to see that he was ok, but this time was fused with the two princesses, his coat the same as what his jacket on his human form was, the same horn, same wings, everything about the same. When he opened his eyes, the girls saw the tri-colored eyes and a soft and gentle smile, everyone running up and hugging him, the barrier releasing as they all cried in relief, their friend safe and sound, the entire ordeal finally over.
"Spyro, you're ok." Twilight said, eveyrone breaking up the hug. "And you fused with the princesses. This is... that is..."
She couldn't find the words to her sentence, hugging him again as tears rolled down her eyes.
"It's alright little bookworm." He said, hugging her back. "It's over now. It's all over."
"Yes my little ponies." Celestia said, Spyro's eyes turning lavender, breaking up the hug. "Everything is taken care of now. The darkness has been sealed away." She then looked at herself, finding everything to be completely different than what she felt before, moving her shoulder. "Though, being in a stallions body feels... different."
"I must agree with you sister." Luna said, Spyro's eyes turning bluish-green. "I mean, don't get me wrong Spyro, but being a mare in a stallions body is weird. I mean, everything feels bigger, more muscular, and..."
"Don't even think about it!" Spyro snapped, getting control before she could look underneath his barrel. "I don't look, you don't look!"
"Wash;t even thinking about it!" Luna quickly said, a blush appearing on his face.
"Are you sure about that sister?" Celestia asked, a mischievous smile appearing on Spyro's face before turning back to the girls. "Anyway, how do we get back to normal?"
"Simple, we deactivate it at the same time." Spyro responded, closing his eyes.
A moment later, he started to glow as the three of them separated, the three royal ponies going back to normal and getting off the ground.
"Thank goodness that's over." Celestia said, removing the necklace and giving it to Spyro. "Now I know what it's like to fuse with you, I don't think I'd make that a daily thing."
"Trust me, having two mares fused with me and sharing a body, that's more weirdness that I need in a lifetime." Spyro responded, taking the crystal and looking around the core. "Well, not too much damage is done. I should get this cleaned up and back to normal in a day or two."
"Need some help sugarcube?" Applejack asked. "Ya know ya'll can count on us to help.'
"I think I'd like that, thanks AJ." Spyro replied, the group leaving the core together, finally having a breather after what had happened.
