Sorry this took a while but here it is. I hope you enjoy it.
I Accidentally Vaporise my Algebra Teacher Part Two:
(Phoebe's Point of View)
Miss Dodds pushed me into a private room which no one was in. "I'm telling you, Miss Dodds, it wasn't me!".
"You need to control your tone young girl. Don't want anyone else intruding on us do we. It was only a matter of time before we'd find you,".
" 'We'?" I repeated. Then suddenly Miss Dodd's coat started folding by itself, turning into a pair of large bat wings. Her grey hair disappeared revealing red spikes and dark piercing eyes. She had claws instead of feet and fingers. Two more things appeared behind her. The door slammed.
"Where is it, Half-blood?" Did Miss Dodds just call me a half-blood?
I screamed. "I don't know what you're talking about!".
Instantly Miss. Dodds flapped her wings and her long scaly fingers were around my neck pinning me to the wall. "Give it to me! Give me what you stole!".
"I haven't stolen anything!" I tried to wriggle free. My feet left the ground, and I was beginning to choke.
"Give it to me! All I'll squeeze the life out of you!".
"Hey! Alecto!"
I turned and saw a boy my age with black curly hair and dark eyes throw a dagger towards Miss Dodds's head. She swerved back and with the distraction, he kicked her in the abdomen. I was dropped to the floor. My teacher roared and raised her claws to strike at me suddenly a white wolf pounced on her back, biting into her neck. She screamed, tripping about on her tall legs. The other two-winged woman tried to grab me but the boy pulled out another dagger and swiped at them. "Get behind me!".
I hid behind a box, afraid of those things. I watched as my saviour swiped his weapon, fighting that woman. Miss Dodds managed to throw the white wolf off her bleeding back but she saw me again. She came towards me. I fell back, feeling the pen Mr Brunner gave me in my pocket. She tried to pin me down with her wings but I rolled out of the way. The white wolf clawed at her face, saving my life again. I turned and saw the boy fighting off the other two. managed to stab one, causing it to dissolve into dust and light. But the other scratched his chest and he cried out in pain before he was grabbed and thrown across the floor, his weapon rolling away from him.
Miss Dodds kicked the wolf from her again, throwing it against the wall and knocking it out, whilst the other winged lady pinned the boy down with her foot. Dodds tried to pin me too but I pulled out my pen and …
She disappeared into dust and light right before my eyes like the other. It was my pen. Except it wasn't my pen. It was a sword. "Ahh!". It was the boy. His pinner was harming him. Quickly I threw my sword-pen thingy-ma-jnd but the monster dodged it giving him a chance to grab his sword on the floor and stab her. And just like Miss Dodds and the first one, she disappeared into nothingness.
I felt sick. I didn't know how to take what just happened. The boy's face turned to me and I saw silver eyes. He was bleeding terribly. "Oh my god,". I felt like I was gonna be sick. Luckily I swallowed my lunch and rushed over to him, pulling his head onto my lap. "You're hurt,". I quickly pulled some tissues from my pocket and pressed them over his collarbone. I didn't have enough for his arm. "Just calm down. It's gonna be okay,".
"Are you alright?" the boy asked me. Loud woofing filled my ears and I saw the white wolf bounding over to us, licking the boy's face with whining eyes.
"I'm okay Akeda," he winced.
"You saved me from that … those things," I breathed. "Who are you?".
"Jason?" I turned and saw Mr. Brunner through the opened door and Grover was with him.
"Phoebe!" my best friend slid down and hugged me. "Are you hurt?".
"I'm fine," I answered. "But he's hurt,". I looked again at Mr Brunnr and saw him fuming. But it wasn't at me.
"I can explain,". The boy passed out.
(Jason's Point of View)
I sat in the hallways of Yancy Academy. I was in big trouble. My collar was plastered and my arm was bandaged.
"But it wasn't my fault!" the girl's screams were coming right outside the door. She had been accused of pushing a bully into the fountain and unfortunately, it seemed,d to be true. And she was not happy about the idea of being expelled.
The door opened and Chiron came rolling in his wheel-chair disguise, glaring at me. Behind him was the grumpy girl whose life I had saved and Grover. The girl saw me, about to say something but didn't. From all that had happened, I couldn't blame her. She had just been attacked by furies and I, a twelve-year-old boy who could fight had saved her life. Of cour, so she was able to take care of Alecto by herself. Her best friend looked at me too. It was Grover. I hadn't seen him in quite some time. He shook his head and I pressed my lips together. I watched as they disappeared down the corridor. I waited a while before Chiron came back to me.
"Chiron I …"
"You deliberately disobeyed me. You could have been killed,".
"I saved that girl's life. She was about to be killed by Alecto,".
"Shush!" he hissed. "To my car outside. Now," he ordered. "We'll talk about this later,".
(Phoebe's Point of View)
Can't believe I got expelled from my sixth school. Grover was gonna be accompanying me home. "I really am sorry Phoebe," Mr. Brunner apologised. "But Yancy just isn't the place for you anymore. But soon you'll see …,".
"Please don't. I don't want to hear any more stories about how special I don't realise I am. They're not helping. You don't know what it feels like to have everyone against you when you try so hard to fit in. Anyway, here's your pen,". I offered him the pen but he wouldn't take it.
"Keep it. You might need it,".
"I don't want it," I couldn't get the image of this pen turning into a sword out of my head and I felt to get rid of that memory, I would have to get rid of this cheap writing tool.
The bus pulled in and Grover and I boarded, preparing to go home. As I climbed on, I looked down the road and saw the boy who had saved my life again. The white wolf was poking its head out of his backpack. I turned away and boarded the bus, sitting down at once a seat away from Grover. I needed space.
We came to our first bus stop and the vehicle went to get gas. I stood out, wanting to be alone. Grover tried talking to me. "Phoebe, I know you're upset,".
"Why'd you say nothing?".
"Look I'm sure Mr. Brunner was making the right decision for you. On the plus side, you don't have to get bullied by Nancy again,".
I sighed and turned my back on him. "I'm going crazy,".
"Phoebe, you're not crazy,".
"I was attacked by our maths teacher or who I thought was our maths teacher and now the principal's saying there is no Miss Dodds. Then she turns into this winged thing and a kid our age who can wield a dagger saves my life. I'm a walking disaster," I slumped on a step and buried my head into my hands.
"I'll get you something to eat,". Grover walked off. I just sat there quietly imagining the angry face on my mum I would be greeted with upon returning home. But then across the road, I saw three old ladies, weaving with balls of year. One of them cut a string. They looked freaky looking. Instantly I hurried back onto the bus. Unfortunately, it drove off before Grover got back on and I couldn't get the driver to stop. I could do nothing but watch as Grover disappeared into the distance.
Manhattan was just how I remembered it. Taking my suitcase and rucksack off, I entered the five-storey building the bus had pulled out in front nd entered the elevator and went to the top floor. I knocked on the door at the end of the corridor and instantly I was greeted with the face of a man who smelled like the sewer.
"Well, well, well, look who it is," Gabe's foul breath drifted up my nostrils.
"Let me in," I tried to move past but he swerved in front.
"Where do you think you're going?".
"I'm going into my house," I said.
"Give me your money,".
"Gabe, come on," It was Eddie, one of his three poker buddies. "Let the girl in,".
Gabe swerved aside and my feet bumped into loads of beer cans scattered across the floor. "You're unbelievable," I groaned.
Gabe grabbed the hood of my cardigan. "Hey, don't like to m,e young lady,".
I stomped his foot and quickly I fled past the table with Eddie and the other two poker buddies and locked myself in my room. And to my anger, Gabe had used it as his study room. Or so he calls it. My room was messy. He had left mud marks everywhere and the room stank like a pigsty. After a quick clean and opening the window to let in the cold wet air, I slumped against the wall and drifted off into deep thought.
(Jason's Point of View)
A special taxi driver was driving me and Chiron in a special car back down the road to the camp. Akeda's top half was lying on my lap and I stroked her fur, soothing her to sleep. Chiron hadn't spoken a word to me since we left that academy. "Chiron, I'm sorry,". Still, he wouldn't stay anything. "I just wanted to get out there. And if I hadn't of done that, that girl would have been killed. If she's a half-blood then we have to …,". I was interrupted by the loud screeches of a taxi driver. Chiron walked out on his four horse legs again and begrudgingly I stepped out and followed him far behind up the hill, past the tree and into camp. And there we were greeted by many campers all glowering at me. They knew I had left and they would never let me down. Especially Clarisse.
"Jason!" Luke came running to me and engulfed me in his arms. I hugged him back. Then Annabeth and Cody joined in. "You're safe!".
"You're hurt," Annabeth held up my bandaged arm.
"I'm alright, Beth," I said.
"My office now," Chiron ordered. "All of you,".
(Phoebe's Point of View)
I was on the murky beach in the pouring rain, looking outwards. The thunder booming. The fog brewing. And in the distance was a light. A spectral figure, holding. "Who are you? So weak. So scared. So sad. Run away, little hero before you get hurt,".
Bang! Bang! My eyes flashed open and my heart jumped. I had fallen asleep. "Phoebe, it's be honey,". It was my mother Sally knocking on my door. "I'm home. You can come out now. Gabe's poker buddies are gone,". I went to the door but I couldn't open it. I was too scared.
"Honey, please," my mother begged. "I just wanna talk to you,".
I turned the key and opened the door to look at a woman with wavy hair and dark eyes. "I'm sorry mum. I'm so sorry," I cried. "I did try this time. I don't know what's wrong with me,".
"Oh honey," My mother embraced me, pecking my cheeks. "I'm just so happy to see you," she wiped her face. "I saw Gabe on the phone with the headmaster,".
"I didn't push Nancy into the fountain water. But the teachers kept going on and on and I snapped,".
"All that matters is that you're home. And look what I brought you from the candy shop," she held up a large bag of blue jellybeans. My absolute favourite. Mum worked at a candy shop in town and every time I came back from school either being expelled or for a summer holiday, she would always buy me a large packet to last for days.
"Mr. Brunner called. And Grover, is Grover okay?".
"Yeah. He's fine," I told her half the truth. That was enough.
"Phoebe?" my mother could always tell when I was hiding something.
"Something is happening to me. It's more than just my mind wandering and getting worse … I'm scared. I don't know how to explain but at the museum, there was this woman with wings and …,".
"Gabe!".
"Mum," I whined, wishing she hadn't done that.
"Look here woman I don't know what you're asking for this time ….," Gabe came marching down the hall, his odour coming off him in invisible waves.
"Phoebe and I are leaving for Montauk. I will have the car back by Sunday,".
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, … since when are you going to Montauk? I called to reserve the place as soon as I got off the call from Yancy Academy,".
"And why would I do that?".
"How dare you threaten my mother, you stinky pig," I snapped.
"Why you…" Gabe was gonna hit me but Sally stepped in.
"You will be good with this because on my way back home on Sunday, I'm gonna stop at D'Angelo and pick up sandwiches in time for tipoff. But if you slap my daughter or make this miserable, we're gonna go anyway, and then Phoebe is gonna eat your sandwich while we listen to the game on the radio,".
Gabe turned his attention away from me and got back to ranting at my mother like she was under his control. "You know I hate watching the Knicks alone,".
"So do I!".
Gabe growled and gave in. "Fine! You'd better make sure the hot peppers on my sandwich,".
"Not if you talk to me like that,".
Gabe huffed. "Please could you ask them to put the peppers on my sandwich?".
My mother smirked and walked off. Gabe took the opportunity to threaten me again with a bony finger. "You listen here young lady. You take your shoes off before you get in my car. You understand me?".
I smacked his finger away. "I'm not afraid of you Smelly Gabe,". Gabe gave me a death frown which I refused to cower from and stormed off down the hall.
My mother grabbed her bag. "Come on darling. Pack your bag. Grab your goat,". Quickly I packed my essentials, some clothes and pulled on a red raincoat. We instantly left the apartment and got into Smelly Gabe's fancy car. We drove off down the road and I watched my mother's nervous face. She was scared of Gabe. She only tolerated him whenever I was at home.
"Why do you stay with that pig? He smells like a sewer. He makes our apartment stink like a sty. He pushes you around and he doesn't even have a job. Why do you stay with him?".
"It's complicated," That was all my mother could say. I closed my eyes and my head fell against the headrest. What was keeping my mother so attached to this abusive man? What was it gonna take for her to finally kick him out of our lives forever?
(Jason's Point of View)
Chiron glared furiously at my best friends who lowered their heads in shame. "What were you thinking letting him go out like this?".
"Chiron, it wasn't their fault," I tried to defend them, but his red face completely shut me down.
"Jason alone out there could have been killed. If perhaps one of you had thought of coming along, he wouldn't be like this,".
"I told them to stay behind,". Still, he wouldn't listen.
"I trust you to look out for him, Luke," How dare Chiron threaten my brother. Quickly I stood in front of Luke.
"Chiron, it's not Luke's fault. It was my fault. They tried to talk me out of it. And I had Akeda with me to protect me,".
"You are all grounded from the next Capture the Flag game,".
"What?" we all shouted.
"Chiron, that's not fair!" I snapped. "Punish me, not them!".
"They should have known better than to let to go out there,".
"At least they listen to me and believe in me more than you do," I stormed out of the house, too angry and upset to say anything else. I went to a stump and slouched down, crying a bit.
"Jason …," Cody came to me with Akeda and Tuastos, the wolf purring and the bear growling softly. I stroked her face. Luke and Annabeth joined us.
"I'm so sorry guys," I apologised.
"Oh, it doesn't matter. The important thing is you're alive.," Luke gave me another warm hug which I sank into. Cody joined in and so did Annabeth. "The only thing that matters is that you're safe and home,". So long as I was with them, I was safe from harm's way.
(Phoebe's Point of View)
Mum took me to the cabin at Montauk, at the beach. For as long as I could remember, she had taken me to the same cabin on the beach on the same day every year my entire life. She told me it was the place where she met my father. She said he was kind and loving and dazzling. Unlike any guy she had ever met. I had always dreamed I could meet him one day. But every time wake up, I remember it to be just a silly child fantasy of a girl longing for her real daddy.
We sat around our fire, cuddling up together under blankets. "Whatever it is you have to say, just say it," Mum's fingers snaked through her hair. "Remember you can always talk to me about anything,".
She was right. "I know I'm weird and even the world can field around me,". I lamented. I try so hard to pay attention but nothing I do seems to work. I end up daydreaming and I just can't help it. But now, I feel things that I see seem more .. real,".
"You saw something. At the museum," My mother got that right straight away. "Something that felt real to you, but no one else could see?". I nodded. "What did she say to you?".
I froze. "How did you know it was she?".
"Phoebe, remember I told you why we come to this cabin every year?".
She was trying to steer the conversation on. "Mum, how did you know about that thing I saw?". Now she was freaking me out.
"I told you that this cabin is where I met your father,".
"Yes. You told me," I touched my pearl pendant. As I did, I saw her eyes swelling up with tears. She too wore a pearl necklace like me but in white. "Mum, what does dad have to do with this? You've not told me a lot about him,".
"Your father was not like any man I had ever met. We were really in love," her tearful smile made my heart melt. "And then…you came along and everything was just perfect,".
"And then he died,".
"No," a tear left her eye. "He didn't,".
"You told me he was lost at sea. Wait? Are you saying dad abandoned us?". She had lied to me about him.
"No, no, he was forced to leave us. He loved you," she held my face. "Leaving you was the hardest thing that he ever had to do,".
"Why did he have to go?" I asked. "Who was he?".
"Because … because …," she was scared. "Because…he wasn't a man at all. He was a … he was a … god,".
God? "You feel in with God? Like … like Jesus?" My whole world was spinning around me.
"Not God. A god. Phoebe, the stories I have told you about Greek gods and heroes and monsters. They are real,".
I was shaking. "Mum?".
"I have told you about how gods and mortals would sometimes have children together,". Mum kept on going despite my begging for her to stop. "And those children were called demi-gods,".
The word, the name, Miss Dodds. "That's what the monster called me. Mum, what is happening?"
"You are a half-blood. And half-bloods are not safe in the world. Once they reach a certain age and when they begin to understand what they are, terrible forces are drawn to them, driving them to harm them before they can become strong enough to fight back. That is what you have been feeling. It has always been a part of who you are, it was always coming,".
"Mum, I don't understand,".
"Phoebe, I know this is hard to understand but believe me this is real,".
"No!" I shouted. "This is crazy! I know I'm crazy! Something is wrong with my brain. I'm always gonna be like this. But this isn't real. I'm no demi-god. No story you say is gonna make it better. I'm not a baby,".
Bang! Bang! Someone was at the door. Mum stood up and pushed me behind her. "Who's there?".
"It's Grover,". How did he find us? "Could someone open the door please,?" Mum rushed over and opened it.
"I asked for the evening and then we could leave tomorrow morning,".
"What is going on?" I demanded.
"Sorry, I'm early but I didn't have a choice. Things are happening a lot faster than we anticipated,". Grover entered.
"Grover, how did you know we were here?" I demanded but he kept on talking to my mother.
"Listen something is coming but the important thing is not to panic,".
"Gro .. ?" I paused. "Ver?".
"What is coming?" Mum asked. She was scared and pale with fright.
"I don't know but this isn't the time to panic,".
"Grover?" I asked. But he still kept on talking to my mum. "Grover?!".
"What?" he asked.
"Why is there half a goat in your pants?". Under his shoots were furry grey legs with hooves.
He froze. "Uh … she didn't tell you?".
"You came early," Mum answered. "Into the car, you two. We have to leave,".
(Jason's Point of View)
I couldn't bear to turn up to dinner and feel everyone gawking at me like a freak show. Luke, Annabeth, Cody, the animals and I sat around a campfire we had made, eating dinner. My friends made sure to leave some pits for the offerings.
I had been rather quiet. "You okay, Jase?" Cody asked.
"I'm fine,".
"Come on. I'm not above tickling the truth out of you," Annabeth ticked me and I chuckled before pushing her hands away. Still, I kept quiet.
"Whatever it is, you know you can tell us," Luke said.
"There was this girl at the museum," I said. "A fury dragged her into the room and she could see her. And her sisters,".
"Was the Fury Alecto?" Annabeth asked. I nodded. She turned her face away, crying softly.
"The girl you saved was a demi-god," Luke said.
"Yes, but she wasn't like the other demi-gods here. I felt something … about her. I know it sounds crazy but …,".
"Who was that demigod?" he asked.
"Her name's Phoebe Jackson. And her Protector is Grover, your old Protector guys,".
"Grover was assigned to a new demi-god a year ago," Annabeth answered. "Do you think he's gonna take this demi-god to the camp?".
"I think he will. Alecto attacked her because she was accused of stealing something,".
"If she's been accused of being a thief then it can only mean one thing. The gods think she's the thief who stole Zeus's weapon,". Cody said dreadfully. "I pray Grover can deliver her safely over,".
"Come on guys. We need to give our offerings," Annabeth was already standing up with her plate of leftovers. I was afraid to go to the temple.
"Hey, we'll be with you the whole time," Luke promised. Together we walked past the Amphitheatre to the old ruins where campers were giving offerings for their godly parents. But as they saw me, they glared only for Luke to glare back and ward them away. Then just to our luck, the thunder boomed and the rain poured damping our shirts and hair.
Clarisse appeared to us in our queue after giving her offering to her war-loving father. "Heard you guys got kicked out of Capture the Flag for this week. And look who's to blame for it," she taunted me.
"Don't get comfortable, Clarisse," Cody warned. "You won't be enjoying this for long,".
She smacked the plate out of his hands spilling his offering.
"Hey!" I shouted. But Clarisse suddenly pushed me into a muddy puddle and the entire Ares party started laughing and so did the other demi-gods. Luke and Annabeth shouted at everyone to 'shut up' but they just wouldn't. Suddenly Cody's brown bear Protector roared and Clarisse and her group fled, screaming like children. "Atta girl," Annabeth stroked her fur.
Luke helped me out of the mud and Chris came over, giving me his cardigan. "Here. Don't let her get to you,".
"She's right though. It's my fault, Luke, Annabeth and Cody can't play this weekend,".
"Don't worry about that game. It's just for this weekend," Luke consoled.
"Annabeth's record is gonna be broken because of me and once Clarisse gets that flag, she'll never let us hear the end of it,".
"Let's go get you cleaned up,". After giving their offerings, Luke and Chris escorted me to the showers. Whilst they went to get new clothes, I washed away the mud and dried blood from my scratched marks. It was the first time I had ever faced a monster. And it was so scary. I had never felt more scared of anything in my life.
One more part and then that's the first episode of this series done. I hope you all enjoyed it. Thank you for your interviews and ideas. Get ready for the next chapter tomorrow or the day after. See you soon.
