"It's rough being a mother, more or less raising a young man who soon learn he was the son of a man she once believed she loved who was a spy for a alien species spent on galactic conquest. Debbie Grayson was right now struggling to handle this hardship of how with her husband leaving the planet, she was left with no one but Mark. As well fearing one day Nolan would return to either try and conquer the planet or kill Mark seeing how he was able to withstand his attacks. The idea spiraled in her mind for months since that day, however it hasn't happen. In which leaving Debbie in a uncertain state, as well how to enjoy her life while having the fear of her husband returning to Earth."

Mark's Home-Morning

It was a average day in the neighborhood as well nothing happening, which was a good thing since the last time it saw action was when Nolan blew up the next door house making everyone rather paranoid thinking Omni Man would return. But he didn't, however for Debbie she still felt worried if he would return. Right now in the home was Debbie trying to focus on her job and help find people new homes.

"More homes to sell, more families to try and have a normal life."

Talking to herself of how that while she's seen Mark come and go off to his 'hero' duties as well school life. It had seem rather empty in this house, as well having no one to speak with. It was so quiet, as well lonely.

"And me with, no one to have a life."

Thinking that while it was good for her to get back into her job helping others finding homes to live in, it still didn't make her feel any better that she would have the place to herself whenever Mark was out of the house. Taking a moment to stop, she lean back against her chair thinking about how she had to do something else.

"There's something I need to do. But what?"

Asking about how there was something important about today, however with her focusing on renovation job as well trying to think about other matters than Nolan. The door bell rang, leaving her to walk down to see who was there. She didn't know who it was since most of her friends were busy with their jobs. Checking at the door, she saw it was her son Mark with a set of flowers as well some candy.

"Happy Mother's Day."

Mark said with a smile as well offering the gift to her as she smiled of how it was Mother's day, leaving her surprised of how she forgot about the holiday. Welcoming her son in, she went to check out the gift that Mark was able to give her.

"Thanks sweetie, but how were you able to get this. I thought you quit your job at that fast food joint."

Curious about how while she was worried about how Mark was handling himself on his own and not spending time with her. It was strange how Mark was able to get a new job, leaving Mark to show her a photo of himself working at a kitchen with Amber to help out several people who needed food.

"It's not exactly a big job but it helps when coming to get gifts, as well trying to be normal for a bit."

Expressing to her that for a while being 'Invincible' was taking a bit of his life. Not to much for him to have a small time job, as well to try enjoy it as most as possible since the fight with Snide affected him on how he should take it easy for a bit.

"Well I'm glad that your working. But I want you to save the money for something important like spending time with Eve. Since you two are dating."

Teasing him a bit making Mark rather nervous seeing how the two were taking this slow as possible since he didn't know how to approach a relationship with a girl as powerful as himself. Debbie could see how she got him a bit surprised by the question, as well that he didn't expect for her to make that comment.

"Yeah, that is true. But the doesn't mean I won't spend time with you."

Responding to her that while being with Eve was both a blessing as well going be a challenge, he would still check up on his mother from time to time making sure she was alright. Debbie merely smiled at him thanking Mark for the dedication, as well how while he was doing his best to keep her happy. She still felt rather upset about the lies that Nolan had kept from the two of them.

"It's ok, all I want is to see you getting a chance at being yourself, and not getting hurt. That's enough for me to be happy when I see you."

Informing him of how while she may be dealing with this hardship, he should focus on becoming a strong young man who still had a lot of growing up as well do his best in balancing his life. Mark chuckled at it as it was a odd thing to suggest, seeing how he also had something special for her today.

"Well. Seeing that you want to think about me focusing on a life, there is something you can do if your not busy."

Telling his mom about a favor making Debbie curious about what he meant by that, heading out to the door he looked around seeing if the close was clear. She was confused on what Mark was doing, if there was something wrong or if it was another present for her.

"Alright Curio, close is clear."

Confirming to a person that came with him which suddenly, Debbie noticed a bush acting up from outside moving around in a odd manner. Moving towards the door, the fake bush had a pair of feline like eyes as there was a person within the bush. Quickly enough, the person removed the disguise showing none other than Curio.

"Behold the patchwork spy Curio! Wishing you a, mom's day?"

Doing a announcement as well asking Mark if he got it right when he said it, Mark did a thumbs up on how he was half way right. While for Debbie she was still confused about what was happening as she turned to her son.

"Right now Sledge's group is doing some recon across the city for any 'fugitives' that was on his ship. And Poisandra had no one to look after Curio, so I thought since you've been here by yourself. I thought Curio could have someone who could be looked after."

Mark giving a detailed list about with how Sledge and the crew was busy working, Curio was left with no one to be looked over. In which Debbie could help him since he's a few months old and needed a adult to be looked at. The black haired woman looked at Curio as well could see how while he may be a monster, he had that of a child like personality.

"Oh. Well that's, a interesting request. Though is he, house trained?"

Debbie asking Mark since Curio was distracted by the living room and much of the house around him. The two took a moment to think about it as Debbie could see this could help out with being alone in the house.

"Alright, but just for today. I'm not a babysitter you know."

Responding to Mark about being alright to look over Curio, but wouldn't make it a habit since she still had a career to focus on. Though the idea of having someone with her in the house as well being different from the usual people she has met could be a good thing. However the moment was interrupted by a vase breaking on the side which was by Curio, who didn't know what the object was.

"I saw someone who looked like me, was a ugly fella."

Curio telling the two about it as well looking at the broken pieces trying to see if there were more. Debbie merely sighs at how this would be a challenge in looking over him, especially how it was like raising Mark when he was little. Full of excitement and not knowing what stuff was, except this little one was stitched together like a teddy bear and didn't know much about anything.

Later that day

Unable to keep him in the house without breaking her belongings, Debbie decided to take Curio somewhere that could distract him better, as well maybe talk to since she needed someone to talk with. Walking down the street was herself along Curio, who had on some clothing that belonged to Mark when he was little. Luckily that it fit Curio, in which it seemed she was just a ordinary mother walking her child.

"So tell me Curio, is there anything you like?"

Starting a conversation with the patchwork monster as Curio was apparently eating some ice cream that she got for him to keep the illusion of him being just a kid. Though the heavy clothing around him made it a challenge as well made him stick out a bit.

"I like this snack, 'ice cream'. Very cold, but I also like spying."

Responding to Debbie making sure that she heard him while he continued to eat his snack, Debbie didn't think about a monster kid like himself like spying. Which had to possibly come from hearing messages from Cecil.

"Whenever Sledge is talking with that scary white hair man, I always find good spots to hide. Making sure I'm not noticed, I'm sneaky."

Telling her about how with his huge hat as well long sleeve shirt and clothing style, he looked like a quiet monster child. Debbie felt sorry for Curio to think that spying was a good thing, since she did her own 'spying' on her husband and finding out the truth behind him.

"That's interesting, but it's not something to get into to much."

"Why?"

Asking quickly to Debbie as she could tell from the tone of his voice he was curious why spying seemed bad. While it would be easy to explain about how peering into someone's business wasn't a good thing. Though when she looked at his eyes, they seemed both innocent as well made her speechless since he may be a normal child with the expression on his face.

"Well. It can hurt people's feelings if they saw you spying on them, as well will look at you differently if they find out about it."

Trying her best to explain how while being secret and illusive wasn't a good thing to be since Nolan was like that, and the result of her finding out wasn't so good. Curio still couldn't get it as the patchwork creature turned his head not understanding it. The two continued to walk until they made it to a tailor shop, walking up to the front door she knocked on it until someone came to see her.

"Debbie?"

Asked the man as he was both elderly along had white hair, the woman smiled to him as she knew him just when Nolan was starting his hero career. Along came to him in grievance when they learned the horrible truth about his true nature.

"Hey Art, are you open? Kinda need some company. And maybe a new hobby for my friend here."

Greeting the store owner along asking for assistance as Art seemed confused about the comment, leaving him to notice Curio by her side. As well having a mess on his face, leaving the man not so shocked seeing threw the disguise as he didn't seem much like a human.

"Do you have snacks?"

Looking at Art with hungry expression on his face as Curio had his nose smelling within the building. In which he walked right into the store, while having both Debbie and Art follow to where they noticed the curious monster making it into the basement. Where it was actually a personal section where he designed uniforms for superheroes, Curio however was at a desk where he apparently found some chocolate.

"Shit. How'd he find my private stash?"

Art asked as he made sure to mask the scent of his candy, leaving Debbie to gesture at the nose seeing how Curio was possibly fascinated with sweets. The two adults walked over to a table for a talk and see what was going on.

"Let me guess, this is one of Mark's new friends that he's been hanging out with. He look's like a stuff cat I used to share with my sister."

Looking at Curio who apparently had finished the chocolate, as well decided to wander around the place to take a look at the costumes that were displayed across the basement. Debbie nodded seeing how while Mark's 'friends' didn't seem like the average super powered people, they weren't all that bad.

"I was asked to watch over him, so far it's been nice. Weird to say since he reminds me of Mark, full of energy as well having that look in his eyes."

Smiling at the sight as it brought memories of her when Mark was young, trying to do a lot of things in a small amount of time. Looking at stuff that he shouldn't have as well getting into trouble, Art remembered that time as well when things were right in the world.

"I can tell from how he's looking at those new costumes I put on display over there"

Responding to Debbie as Curio was looking at several female costumes, which had him staring at the mannequin legs. Noticing at the sight, Debbie walked over and pulled him over seeing how he shouldn't get curious until he was at proper age. If there was a age to describe Curio, taking the chance she showed him to Art as the orange haired creature looked at him.

"Do you have any powers or are you scary?"

Asking him which made Art look at Debbie with a questionable expression if he was serious, leaving her to nod of how he was like this. Asking odd questions and fascinated with everything around him, mostly it's been around the Guardians as well seeing Cecil. Taking a chance he made sure to take this approach calmly.

"No, but what I am is a tailor. Meaning I design all the costumes for the people you meet, especially Invincible."

Talking about how instead of being powerful or having agents under him, he made the suits that the heroes wear everyday. Making sure to show it, Art pulled out a catalogue book filled with several designs of clothing that he made for past heroes. Curio took a look getting fascinated with each one, from detailed coloring to the size. They reminded much of himself as he looked at his own clothing.

"They remind me of my friends. And the Guardians, plus Mark."

Stating how each one reminded him of the numerous people that he had met as it amazed Curio, seeing this type of sight made Debbie smile. As it reminded her of Nolan spending time with Mark, which made her shed a tear from the sight of the bonding. Curio hearing her, quickly open what seemed to be a bag attached to his waist. He pulled out a tissue box as well offering it to her.

"Thank you, it's just. Allergies."

Thinking about something quick to avoid them noticing her feelings. Especially in a moment like this, however Art could tell she was feeling sad about this type of moment since he remembered the times when he was at their home seeing the three spending family time.

"Could I make clothes like that?"

Asking Art if there was a way if he could make several types of clothing like in his book, Art was surprised to hear that from a creature with a interest in costume making. Leaving him to smile as he was delighted to help him design a costume with him, Curio then looked to Debbie if she could help him since it seem he wanted do it with her as well. From how things have been at home and it being different, Debbie nodded as well would offer to help out.

"Have any safety scissors for him?"

Looking at Art making the man laugh at the comment as well seeing he had something for Curio as the three decided to craft some new costumes. As well enjoy the rest of the evening getting creative as well doing something different.

Sledge's Base-Night Time

A few hours later became night time at the base where Sledge and the others were at, the group along Mark had right now found one of the fugitives that was causing trouble outside of time. They were covered in pastry as well different types of snacks, they sent the alien to Cecil so they could detain him.

"Seriously? What kind of weirdo's have you been hunting after? A chef that makes killer cakes and donuts?"

Mark asking Sledge as he saw how most of them were covered in the confection, as well making sure they got the food off. Fury, merely licked off the frosting on his fur as well seemed annoyed by himself covered in it.

"Yeah. And the bastards you fight seem to be all gritty and angsty like, for once you should be glad to get something out of this."

The red lion spoke back as he took a bite out of a cake that was behind his collar, the others merely tried to get clean up. Poisandra checking out her clothing making sure she was clean, she got curious about another matter.

"Where's Curio? You said that your mom would bring my bestie home."

Asking him if Curio would be coming back since while he was a gift from Sledge to show how he felt sorry for having them stranded on Earth. It was also a way for them to get closer as a couple. Mark, shrugged his shoulders since it's been a while since he had gotten at text from his mother. Poisandra's eyes merely glowed dark pink seeing how that wasn't a answer she was looking for. Sledge, noticed the look as he rushed over to calm her down.

"What he means Poisy is Curio is learning what it's like to spend time with a mom. So maybe he's just enjoying the time, plus her as well. Right?"

Explaining to his girlfriend and looking at Mark making sure he doesn't get a axe shoved down his throat. Mark could tell he was touching a touchy topic, though soon enough they heard the doors opening showing none other than Debbie and Curio with a set of bags as they seemed to spend the day having fun.

"Curio!"

Poisandra shouted as she lost her anger towards Mark as she rushed over to Curio and hugged him in a passionate manner, Debbie. Looked at the group and could tell her son and the group had have a rough evening.

"Sorry, but I got Curio interested in designing a few things for you all. Got something interested else than spying."

Debbie commenting on his strange fascination in spying as the others looked away seeing how they were alright with it. Though they were fascinated about the 'clothing' that Curio and Debbie had made from them, Mark walked over to see if his mom was alright.

"Was the kid a hand full? If he was then I can talk with Sledge about sending him to Eve just in case."

Asking her if the patchwork monster was trouble for her, the mother shook her head as well looked at the big hatted creature showing his friends several new uniforms for the team. Which had them impressed about designing as well look that was for four, it was a pleasant sight to see.

"No. It felt rather much like you when you played baseball, one of a kind and peaceful."

Acknowledging how it felt reliving a moment in her life when there was no drama, no type of moment where a fight was happening. It was just spending quality time with a child that much reminded her of Mark. The young man looked seeing the smile on her that she enjoyed the day, as well having someone to spend time with from what has been going on. Leaving him to know that he would still make her happy and safe, no matter what would come there way.

"Hope everyone had a good Mother's Day and did something special for the holiday. More to come soon, see ya soon!"
