Chapter 177
Warehouse Captivity
The next day begins beautifully, although clouds do start to move in on the city of Terra Falls.
The time now is 7:30 a.m. And outside of the high school building, everyone reads a sign explaining finals for the senior students have been pushed a week earlier which in fact they only have about five more days of studying.
Nakia, Zelda, Ryan, Kimberly and Chet are all walking into the high school quick like because they have a lot of more studying to do during their study hall period because their finals are coming up faster than expected. All of them are wearing jeans, t shirts, and shoes with respects to the Ranger colors..
Zelda says to Nakia and Kimberly as they go to their lockers.
Zelda-I can't believe the finals have been pushed up.
Nakia says from behind.
Nakia-Me either.. We really haven't had any time to study more.
Zelda-I know.
Kimberly adds.
Kimberly-We'll just have to work extra hard.
They make it to their lockers and open them up.. Zelda hears someone frantically saying to other students throughout the hallway.
Henry-Please, if you see her.. Call me immediately!
Zelda looks up from her locker and notices a heavy set man wearing a brown business suit handing papers to the students. She says to her friends.
Zelda-Hey you guys?
Nakia and Kim look up from their lockers.. Nakia asks.
Nakia-What is it?
Zelda points to the guy. Nakia says.
Nakia-Hmm. He's handing out papers.
Kimberly says.
Kimberly-Probably telling us our finals are today.
Nakia-Hope not.
Zelda-No it's not that.
The man makes it to Zelda and the others.. He says the same thing to them as he said to the other students.. When he's finished he hands them each a piece of paper containing his name, address, home and work phone number.. And a picture of Vanessa. He then walks away to talk to more students.
Nakia's eyes totally bulge in shock.
Nakia-Oh my lord!
When her eyes stop bulging she says.
Nakia-Vanessa is missing!
Zelda and Kimberly look at Nakia with worried eyes..
Kimberly-It has to be that professor!
Nakia-We're going to find out!
Zelda nods her head. And so does Kimberly.
Back the professor's base lab.. He sits in his chair as Kitty comes through the front door. He says.
Professor Feliness-Kitty I'm starting to think you're not taking your job as serious as I thought you were.
Kitty exclaims.
Kitty-I am Professor. I apologize.
Professor Feliness-Then why didn't you go back and stop those fools from messing up another cat's eye?
Kitty-I had lost the RNA cell. I was looking for it. And I guess I lost track of time.
Professor Feliness-Lost track of time you say? I thought you and the others made duplicate RNA cells?
Kitty-Well we did, but those didn't turn out as well as we had planned.
He pushes a red button on his leather chair.. And immediately a sound is heard and the next minute, a large transparent tube from the ceiling drops down on Kitty.
The Professor pushes another button, this time, a purple one.. And suddenly the entire tube fills with purple sparks.. Kitty screams out in cat meows and rowrs because her body is being stunned by the purple sparks. The professor speaks as the sparks tear into Kitty's body.
Professor Feliness-I suppose next time you'll take your task more seriously!
Kitty continues to rowr out in pain..
Back at the high school.. Nakia tries to get in touch with Ryan but she can't find him.. Anyway its mostly because the first class of the day has started for everyone.. Kimberly suggests as the girls walk through the first front hall way.
Kimberly-How about contacting him through your communicator?
Nakia says.
Nakia-No. I really don't want to disturb him.
Zelda-We might need his help.
Nakia-I realize that. But if anyone needs to be in class now, its Ryan, you don't know how bad he felt when he found out he might not graduate, so right now I don't want to bother him. I want him to be able to graduate with us all. Besides if we need him we'll get in touch with him if things get bad enough.
Zelda and Kimberly nod their heads as in saying they understand. Zelda asks.
Zelda-What about Chet?
Nakia says.
Nakia-Same with him. I'm sure he'd rather study right now so he can get home faster to Australia.
Zelda-Okay.
The girls make it to the front entrance doorway only to be stopped by a woman teacher.. With their backs turned to the teacher Nakia says to Zelda and Kimberly.
Nakia-Don't panic.. Let's just teleport out of here. That way the teacher will think she's crazy.
They all chuckle and soon their bodies start to sparkle with the colors, Yellow, Pink and White. The teacher scratches her head unwittingly because she doesn't understand what she had just seen which was the sparkling forming into beams of light that vanished right before her eyes.
Back in the Professor's base lab.. Kitty is still inside of the transparent tube that's shocking her greatly.. When the Professor finally decides to take pity on her, he releases her from the tube.. Now she looks extra fluffy, like she just got out of the dryer.. Although her appearance is comical, her insides are majorly suffering from the pain she had just received from the shocks. She ends up falling on her back.
The Professor watches his screens when he says to Kitty.
Professor Feliness-Do make yourself useful Kitty.
Kitty struggles to get up, but she manages.. And when she's all the way back on her feet.. She responds weakly.
Kitty-Yes.. Professor.
She leaves but not before saying with a vengeance.
Kitty-I'll get you for this Professor. Some how, some way I'll pay you back for this.
Kitty walks into a room filled with beautiful technological things after remembering a special computer might of recorded her battle against the Rangers, and she wants to use this if possible, against the Professor.. As I said the room is filled with marvelous technological things computers mainly, but its all fantastic.. She sits down in a chair next to a large computer and types in a few commands.. After she finishes typing, she places a keycard into the computer's probing bank. When the computer acknowledges who she is by the keycard, it says.
Computer-Welcome.. Kitty.
Kitty now removes the keycard and says in a whisper.
Kitty-Computer. Memory screen on.
The computer reveals a light blue screen.. Kitty then says.
Kitty-Computer. Scan for data of my battle against those warriors.
The computer obeys and begins its scanning in a series of flashing lights inside of itself. When it's done, it reveals images of Kitty fighting the Rangers. She says.
Kitty-Excellent. Now. Scan the warriors body energies and give me a reading when you're finished.
The computer obeys.. It takes only five minutes for it to complete Kitty's request and when she reads the resulting data, she exclaims.
Kitty-Unbelievable! Their powers are practically off the charts!
She shakes her head in disbelief.. Then says to the computer.
Kitty-Computer, prepare for data transfer.
The computer speaks this time.
Computer-Preparing for data transfer. 5 minutes.
While its working.. Kitty takes out a special memory chip and a small machine out of a drawer from behind her. The small machine is a tracking device. She says as she looks at it with awe.
Kitty-I knew this would come in handy someday.
The computer says now.
Computer-Data ready for transfer.
Kitty says.
Kitty-Good.
She says when she places the memory chip into the computer's main hard disk.
Kitty-Computer. Transfer data into the memory chip. Use all 512 megabytes of the chip.
The computer says.
Computer-Negative.
Kitty asks.
Kitty-What do you mean by that?
The computer says.
Computer-Data scan results are more than memory chips' available space.
Kitty-What? Are you sure?
Computer-The data scan results are sized at 5000000 gigabytes.
Kitty grunts and exclaims.
Kitty-Ugh! Impossible! Why that's..
She thinks for a minute then says.
Kitty-That's five quadrillion bytes! Which is 5 thousand terabytes! How can the information be so much computer?
Computer-The data scan results are extremely substantial.
Kitty-I see. Those warriors are so powerful, that they're initial scans inside a computer have balanced a memory bank of five thousand whole terabytes. Hmm since when did you have enough space to hold five thousand terabytes of information?
The computer responds.
Computer-Reconstruction.
Kitty types in the necessary commands and scans the computer completely.. She says.
Kitty-Oh my.. Someone reconstructed you completely.. There is no limit of how much information you can hold in your databanks.
She thinks.
Kitty-Hmm. But I don't think I have a memory chip that can hold five thousand terabytes of information.
The computer says.
Computer-Newly processed memory chips are available.
Kitty-Really? Hmm.
Kitty gets up to look around the room.. She looks in the desk drawers, and the file cabinets till she finds a silver memory chip.. She has never seen one before so she thinks this.
Kitty-This must be the memory chip capable of holding a large amount of terabyte information.
She sits back down at the computer and removes the first memory chip.. She then places the silver memory chip into the computers main hard drive.. When the computer acknowledges the chip it says.
Computer-Memory chip meets requirements of resulting scan's space.
Kitty-Excellent.. Okay. Commence with transferring their data.
The computer starts its work.
It only takes about 5 minutes for the computer to transfer the data to the silver memory chip. When its done.. It says.
Computer-Transfer of data scan complete.
Kitty removes the memory chip and places it inside of her small compact tracking device.. She smiles when it turns on beautifully and starts to work.. She says.
Kitty-With this. I'll be able to track those warriors and wreck the professor's plans.. He'll pay for taking me for granted.
She gets up and leaves the area.
The screens the Professor is watching suddenly collide into one image.. It is an image of a gray robotic cat with a fat round body. It speaks in a monotone way.
Cattatron-Professor.. What do you want me to do with the three captured humans?
The Professor responds.
Professor Feliness-For now nothing. We can't start the experiment as long as they're perspiring. We'll have to wait until they dry out.. In the meantime I want you to go to them and guard them, just in case we have some unexpected visitors.
Cattatron-Yes, Professor I shall obey.
Professor Feliness-Oh and Cattatron.. Do take care of any unexpected pest who happens to wander by!
Cattatron-I shall.
The screens all shut off at once.
Kitty comes back into the base lab still looking terrible.. She has a cell phone in her hand.. She says to the professor.
Kitty-Professor. You have a call from Mr. Rowlings.
The Professor growls and yanks the phone from Kitty. He then tells her to leave.. She obeys. He finally says to Mr. Rowlings.
Professor Feliness-Hello Mr. Rowlings.. I trust things are on the up on your side.
Henry responds.
Henry-No, Professor.
Professor Feliness-Is there something wrong?
Henry-Yes. I can't find my daughter.
Professor Feliness-Then why are you calling me and not the police?
Henry-The police have been alerted. And they said they can't do anything until after 48 hours. I have been all through this city.. To school's, hospital's, everywhere! I did the same thing in Granite city, yet no one has seen her.
Professor Feliness-Oh well that's a shame.
Henry-Can you help me find my daughter?
Professor Feliness-Oh I'd love to help. But I'm afraid I have to spend all of my time in the lab..
Henry becomes astoundedly agitated.
Henry-Excuse me? My daughter is missing and all you can think about is experiments!?
Professor Feliness-Frankly Mr. Rowlings. I'm a tad bit under the weather so I couldn't possible leave my home.
Henry-Huh?
Professor Feliness-I cannot leave here.
Henry-I'm asking everyone who knows Vanessa to help me find her, even people who don't know her. As a friend, would you please help me?
Professor Feliness sighs to himself.. It is a sigh of contempt I must say.
Professor Feliness-Hmm. Perhaps I can help you, Mr. Rowlings.. After all you have done so much for me and my cause.
Henry-Yes.. Thank you.
Professor Feliness-But I'll have to contact you in about 2 hours.
Henry-Why?
Professor Feliness-There are a few things I have to bring under my control. Three things to be exact.
Henry-Um, okay..
Professor Feliness-I'll be in touch.
The professor hangs up and calls for Kitty.. She comes in looking a little bit better and asks.
Kitty-Yes, Professor?
Professor Feliness-That fool Rowlings!
He growls and continues.
Professor Feliness-We'll have to delay the plan of turning those three humans into cat slaves.. Instead they'll remain the same in looks.. Only!
Kitty-Are you talking about the brain scrambling chips?
Professor Feliness-Exactly! Get them and bring them to me immediately.. We have three emergency surgeries to conduct!
He starts laughing.
And Kitty leaves to get the brain scrambling chips.
Back at the warehouse..
Vanessa says weak like.
Vanessa-I'm so tired.
Amanda says in agreement.
Amanda-Me too. But what are we going to do?
Vanessa-I don't know. If only I could think of something.
Todd says in regards to Cattatron who's below them and sitting in the center of the floor.
Todd-Not much we can do, not with that fat robot cat down there.
Amanda-Can't give up. There must be a way.
Vanessa-If only I had my computer.. I could send a signal out into the air.. And maybe the rangers would get it.
Computerized noises are heard coming from below, they are data messages sent by the Professor.. When they stop, Cattatron raises itself up and turns to the three. He says.
Cattatron-Do not fear Humans.. You shall be released very soon.
He laughs robotically as he finishes his statement.
Cattatron-Released from your current brain functions that is.
Amanda gasps, and so does Vanessa.
They say one by one.
Amanda-I do not like the sound of that.. Not one bit!
Vanessa-No! He means they're going to do something to our brains.
Todd-Damnit!
Nakia, Zelda and Kimberly have all split up to try and find Vanessa.. They don't know Amanda has been captured too but all will be clear eventually.
Nakia is searching throughout downtown.. Zelda is looking around in the neighborhoods throughout the city and Kimberly is close to the warehouse district.
Back to the warehouse..
The Professor and Kitty have arrived with the necessary equipment for what the Professor plans to do.. He orders Cattatron to transform into a large table capable of holding Amanda, Vanessa and Todd. When Cattatron is completely changed into a table.. The Professor walks up the left side of the stairway to speak to the three.
Professor Feliness-Well today is your lucky day.. All three of you.. But first.
He takes out a device that looks like an advanced headlight, but really its not.. He puts it on his forehead and turns it on as he says.
Professor Feliness-We must scan your skulls first.
Vanessa says sharply.
Vanessa-Get away from us you freakazoid!
The Professor laughs and says.
Professor Feliness-Please! Flattery will get you no where!
A faint beeping is heard down below.. The Professor asks quickly when he looks down at Kitty.
Professor Feliness-What was that?!
Kitty says.
Kitty-Nothing professor. Just a new experimental time traveling watch. Nothing you should worry about.
The professor grunts and turns his attention back to the three captives..
Kitty takes out her device and sees what it's telling her. She says.
Kitty-So one of those colorful warriors is around here.. Hmm, the White one. Good.
She smirks as everything fades to black..
