Chapter 24
Gwen
Gwen didn't know what to think about the new arrival that had recently entered the fishing village that she was currently residing at. Was he a danger to her and the people of this village? If so, why wasn't he attacking? Logic told her that it was because he was alone. That he was by himself and thus not much of a danger to anyone, even to a small fishing village like this one, but Gwen knew better. Only the strong-willed in the Shadow Isles can maintain even a sliver of who they used to be and that typically meant they were powerful entities that were a danger to the common folk of Runeterra. Some were weaker than others, yes, but even the weakest were strong enough to wipe out a small fishing village like the one that she was in. She refused to let that happen to this village and she was prepared to fight on their behalf.
That was her initial thought when she saw what had been causing the villagers to panic and come to her for aid regarding a wraith coming to the village. But when she saw the supposed wraith, saw how calm, collected, and not attacking or disturbing them beyond simply existing, made her stay her hand. It also helped that, upon actually seeing the wraith with her own eyes for the first time, Gwen felt something different about it. Different in that it felt nothing like anything from the Shadow Isles that she experienced before. Granted, she wasn't that much of an expert on the denizens of the Shadow Isles, but she knew enough about the Isles that there was something off with this wraith.
For one, she didn't feel the typical emotions that come from those that come from the Shadow Isles, which were typically negative emotions like anguish, rage, or even sadism. In fact, she can't feel any emotions from them at all. It was like they were just a blank of emotions. It would have been unnerving if it didn't also raise Gwen's curiosity. The second thing that stayed her hand was that the wraith made no move against her or the villagers. It just stood in place as it looked upon her. When it spoke, she found no ill intent in its voice. Only formality and politeness. Thus, she decided to make conversation with it. Perhaps it was a friendly wraith?
"My name is Gwen." Said Gwen, answering Rogier's, that was what the wraith said its name was, question regarding who she was. Now it was time for it to answer her questions regarding it. "Now, I don't mean to be rude, but may I ask what you're doing here? In this village?" Rogier stood still for a moment, slightly concerning Gwen, before it spoke up again.
"I felt a…presence here. A presence I didn't expect to be present here following what happened when the Ruined King came to this land." Said Rogier/Mordekaiser as he looked at Gwen. "I got curious. So, I investigated and found you here. The presence I felt is emitting the strongest from you so I assume you are the cause of it, yes?" Gwen bit her lip upon hearing his explanation.
It was because of her that he was here? That wasn't good. Granted, this one wasn't being a threat to anyone, and judging by his aura and his actions so far, he wasn't going to be, but the fact that it was because of her that he was here meant that other wraiths could come here as well. Drawn by her presence. That was bad for both the villagers and herself. It meant that more wraiths would come to this village and bring harm to the innocent people there. She had to leave to keep them safe. After dealing with whatever wraiths come to harm this village, of course. Even though the Ruined King was defeated, there were still remains some wraiths in Bilgewater that threatened the people of Bilgewater. There were even some humans that had been corrupted by the Ruined King that still remain enthralled to his will. To obey their lord, no matter the cost to themselves. It sickened Gwen that people were still under his control. She wanted to help them, to free them from the Ruined King's control, but she lacked the means to do so. The best she could do was defeat them and lock them away until someone with the magical prowess necessary to free them from the Ruined King's influence.
If either those come here, then Gwen will defend this village and its people from them. She won't let harm come to them at all.
"Interesting." Said Rogier/Mordekaiser as he sensed the emotions coming from Gwen when he revealed why he was here. Sensing the distress and worry for the villagers from her, Mordekaiser concluded that she cared for them and thus made a plan to see her capabilities and what else she was capable of. "You care for these people, do you not?" Upon hearing that question, Gwen looked at Rogier/Mordekaiser with narrowed eyes.
"Yes, I do." Said Gwen, still suspicious of this wraith, even if he wasn't attacking anyone. "May I ask what you intend on doing to this village and its people?"
"You may." Said Rogier/Mordekaiser as he looked at Gwen. "I wanted to warn you of some potential danger to this village by some…remnants of those that fell to the Ruined King's influence. They weren't approaching this village while I was making my way here, but as I walked past them, I sensed them noticing your presence in this village. Getting curious. It's only a matter of time before they come here for your presence. And I believe you know what would happen once they arrive here." It was true. As he approached, he could sense the wraiths and undead that still lingered after the Ruined King's attack starting to notice the strange aura that this Gwen emitted. What wasn't true was that warning this Gwen and the village regarding that little fact was not the purpose of him coming here. The real reason he'll keep to himself for now.
As for Gwen, she was stunned to hear the warning. Gwen did indeed knew what would happen if wraiths would come to this village and she dreaded just how many will come to it. No one here were fighters besides her. If even just a handful of wraiths arrive here at the same time, then a good deal of these villagers will die. There was no denying that fact, as much as Gwen hated to admit, unless…
Gwen looked at Rogier/Mordekaiser as they stood in place, awaiting a response from her regarding what he just told her. Pursing her lips, Gwen reluctantly spoke up.
"I…I know that I don't have the right to ask this of you, but can you…" Gwen attempt to persuade this Rogier to help her defend this village from harm was interrupted by the wraith himself.
"You want me to help in the defense of this village?" Asked Rogier/Mordekaiser as he looked at the young woman before him in amusement. "Will these villagers allow me to do such a thing? After all, I'm undead just as much as those wraiths that will come to bring harm to this village." He looked at the villagers that were peeking out of the building behind her, looking fearful of the undead that was in their village, even if he wasn't doing any harm to them at all. If only they knew who he really was.
"The same could be said for me when I came to this village." Said Gwen as she looked at Rogier/Mordekaiser. "They initially didn't want me here as well, but they eventually accepted me here after some time. It's all about doing the right thing and showing people that you don't mean them any harm." Rogier/Mordekaiser just chuckled at that, amused. Still, if this provided him an opportunity to know more about Gwen, then all the better.
"Then, if they don't mind it, let me help you in the defense of this village." Said Rogier/Mordekaiser, eager to see what this Gwen could do, agreed to help defend this village. Upon hearing that agreement, Gwen smiled at Rogier/Mordekaiser, grateful for their assistance.
"Thank you, Mr. Rogier." Said Gwen, genuinely, a beaming smile on her face. "With your help, we're sure to protect everyone from anything that comes here!" Hearing the optimism in her voice along with her bright smile actually made Mordekaiser take a moment to process it all. It reminded him of slightly of Moxxie and his own naïve view on everything when he was young. This brief reminder of his adopted son made Mordekaiser slightly feel something coming inside himself. He wasn't sure what it was, but it made him feel something. Something he couldn't understand, but it made him feel…good to have it. Mordekaiser would have to figure this out later. First, however, he had something to do with this Gwen.
Unbeknownst to the Iron Revenant, however, Gwen sensed the emotion that erupted from the Iron Revenant. It was faint and fainted just as quickly as it appeared, but she knew what emotion erupted from the wraith. She knew the emotion well and it surprised her greatly to see that a wraith could feel such an emotion. Normally, they only feel malice, anguish, hatred, and/or other negative emotions that are typically associated with the undead. If they feel any emotions in the first place. It made Gwen interested in this wraith and her desire to know more about him increased further. He was so…different from other undead that she had the misfortune of encountering. Why was that? Hopefully, she'll know more about him in their coming defense of this village.
With that in mind, Gwen went over to her newfound ally and gave him a bow, grabbing the hem of her dress as well. Surprised at this, Mordekaiser just looked at Gwen as she continued bowing. Feeling something again, Mordekaiser said nothing as she stopped and gave him a beaming smile.
"Are you ready to help out?" Asked Gwen, having sensed his recent emotional spike and it made her want to laugh, but she refrained from doing so. That would be rude of her. Clearly, there was more about this wraith than meets the eye and she was eager to find out exactly that was. Mordekaiser, looking at Gwen, just nodded.
"Yes." Said Mordekaiser as coldly as ever. "Lets." Mordekaiser then followed Gwen into the village lodge-like building, no doubt to discuss how to defend these people from the encroaching undead. As he walked, Mordekaiser wondered if he had the right choice coming here or not.

I.M.P.
"I can't believe this." Said Blitzo as he paced around the board room of his company office. "We got a dozen clients waiting for us to do their hits and we have to put them on hold because of your dad, Mox. Why does he have us fucking waiting for these rich fuckers anyway?" Moxxie raised an eyebrow at what Blitzo said.
"What makes you think I have any idea on what he's planning, sir? If you recall, I was drunk." Asked Moxxie as he looked at his boss, now completely sober after his little drunken experience back at that beach. When he recovered from it, Millie explained the whole situation they were in to him because of his dad. Needless to say, Moxxie was shocked to hear that his dad came and punished both Verosika and Blitzo for everything that happened, including what happened to him. While he was a bit happy his dad got involved in saving their butts from the human police, he was concerned in how he saved them from them. From what Millie described of how he saved them, it certainly seemed like his father went all out on those poor policemen and women that were just doing their job. Plus, now it seemed that he and Millie were forced to help Blitzo in whatever punishment he was forced to do for his dad as payment for his neglect of Moxxie's safety. Not exactly the best way to inflict punishment on someone by dragging the victim of their neglect into said punishment.
"Because the reason we're into this shitty situation is because your dad decided to be an actually good parent, for Hell's standards anyway, and fuck us over for what happened to you." Said Blitzo as he glared at Moxxie. "Like, for fuck sake's Mox, you could have at least told me that your dad is protective of you. I would have protected you from that walking STD factory and her cronies if I knew that your dad would have been on my ass for letting you get gang raped by them."
"So you would have only prevented me from getting raped by them if you knew my dad would kick your ass or something for letting something like that happen to me?" Asked Moxxie bluntly as he looked at Blitzo with annoyance. Same with Millie, who was still upset at Blitzo for what he let happen to Moxxie.
"Oh, c'mon, Mox. You probably enjoyed getting fucked by all those bitches." Said Blitzo with a nonchalant tone. That pissed off both Moxxie and Millie upon hearing his excuse or lack of excuse. "Anyway, this job with those rich fucks better pay well and your dad too, Mox. We're going to need a lot of money and I mean lots of it to make up for all the money we're losing from all the clients I told to fuck off and come back later." Moxxie raised an eyebrow at what his boss just said.
"You honestly think my dad will pay you during your punishment?" Asked Moxxie, skeptically.
"Well, yeah." Said Blitzo with as he glared at Moxxie. "That slut, Verosika, got paid for her punishment. Said so straight into my face when she got back. So, I'm expecting my pay as well. Otherwise, I'm going to be pissed off at you and your dad Mox."
"Wait, my dad paid Verosika?" Asked Moxxie in shock. He didn't expect to hear that. Millie was also shocked as well. Blitzo never told her about this at all.
"He sure fucking did." Said Blitzo in annoyance as he recalled what Verosika said to him when she got back with a suitcase full of Hell Dollars. When she spotted Blitzo, she taunted him with all the money she earned from her job that she did for Moxxie's dad. The amount was…staggering to say the least. It pissed off Blitzo that Verosika got paid so much when she and her sluts sexually assaulted Moxxie, the son of the fucking asshole that was responsible for his fucking situation at the moment, and not get punished much if her perfect skin and body being still perfect is any indication. "Like, for fuck sake's Mox, is your dad trying to piss me off? Because it sure as hell is working!"
"I'm sure he has his reasons." Said Moxxie. He was confused and a little hurt that his dad paid Verosika despite the fact that he was supposed to punish her for sexually assaulting him, but he was sure he had his own reasons for doing so. Reasonable ones too. "Perhaps he was simply rewarding her for doing a good job at what task he gave her. Millie told me how he gave her a task as well as us. Maybe he was rewarding her for a good job. In that case, I'm sure he'll reward you as well."
"He fucking better." Said Blitzo as he sat down on his seat. "Otherwise, he's going to be earning my wrath!" Moxxie and Millie weren't exactly sure how that threat was ever going to intimidate Moxxie's dad, but refrained from mentioning it to Blitzo lest he get angry with them. Before either of them or anyone else for that matter, a sudden enormous shake caught their attention. The shaking was so powerful that it caused some of their cups of water to fall over and spill their contents on company table.
"Uh, Guys, do you feel that?" Asked Loona in concern. Something like this normally didn't happen in Hell unless some noble or Overlord was doing something nearby. And that typically led to some very serious hazards for anyone caught in their machinations.
"Oh shit, is that a hell-shake?" Asked Blitzo having a completely different take on what was occurring right now.
"That's possible?" Asked Moxxie as his pointed tail suddenly shot up in fear at what was going around them right now. He heard about Hell-shakes or Hell-quakes, similar in function to Earth's quakes, but the sources regarding Hell-shakes were just articles online. From very stupid and very manipulative writers. So, Moxxie was skeptical. Even more so when he never actually heard about Hell-shakes nor endured one ever since coming to live in Hell. Any "shakes" were typically the results of Overlords fighting each other in their turf wars or powerful demons in Hell doing something for one reason or another. Before he could explain his skepticism of Blitzo's claim, Millie was holding onto him. Unlike him, she believed Hell-quakes were real and was scared of them.
"Alright! Don't panic, Moxxie!" Said Millie as she panicked. Moxxie, surprised to see this side of his normally brave wife, tried to calm her down.
"I'm not panicking, Millie." Said Moxxie, trying to calm his wife down. "Because Hell-quakes don't actually occur." Before he could explain further, Loona roughly grabbed hold of Moxxie and began to shake him.
"Stop getting hysterical, fatty!" Yelled Loona before she slapped him behind his head, causing him to fly across the room, where he landed against the opposite wall.
Groaning in pain, Moxxie was about to glare at Loona for slapping him when suddenly the wall collapsed behind Moxxie, covering him in debris. Stunned at this, the others in I.M.P. didn't do anything as black mechanical tubes came out of the destroyed wall in the shape of a wrecking ball. Soon the ball retracted away, revealing a thin Sinner dressed like a human supervillain in those cheesy comics humans like to write.
The man in question wore a black suit with a green spiraling arrow pointed down toward his crotch on the front. His boots were tall and green. He wore red gloves and a red cape. Red pointed horns curved near his black top hat. A thick black elegant mustache and a pair of glowing green spiraled glasses completed his whimsical weird look. Posing on one knee, the man stood up as the others watched, cautious.
"Do not be afraid!" Said the man, spreading out his arms. He grinned and extended the metal tubes from earlier into loops behind and around him. Seeing that he wasn't a threat, Blitzo stood down and simply looked at the broken wall in annoyance. There adds another thing that they need to repair that was coming out of their next payday.
"Please tell me you got that insurance thing," Blitzo mentioned, remembering the concept that he learned about during one of his first ventures on Earth, specifically the one involving murdering an asshole of a kid. Rather than answering Blitzo's statement, Millie simply took out a sharp black ax with a red pentagram on it. She was pissed at the stranger coming in uninvited to their office, breaking down their wall, and, above all, hurt her beloved husband.
"Who are you and what do you want?!" Demanded Millie with a glare, ready to kill the Sinner that hurt her husband.
"I'm Loopty Goopty!" Greeted the man with a cooky smile on his face. He then swooped into the room on a loop on his contraptions and landed between Blitzo and Millie. He wiggled his eyebrows playfully and obscured his lower face with his cape. In a sing-song voice he added, "Dastardly inventor of all things loopy and loopish!" He leaned into an angry Millie. Growling, Millie pushed the man off her before going over to her husband, remembering that he was trapped in the debris from Loopty's…forceful entrance.
"Moxxie!" Yelled Millie in concern as she ran to aid her husband. Once she came to her husband's general location, she quickly lifted up the debris and flung it away. Moxxie groaned as the debris was lifted off him. Lifting her husband from the ground, Millie supported Moxxie and led him to a nearby leather chair so he can sit there.
"Thanks, Millie." Said Moxxie as he sat down. "I needed that."
"Of course, Mox." Said Millie with a smile. "Now you just stay there and recover. I'll handle this asshole." Moxxie just waved his hand while he got comfortable in the seat. Just when he got comfortable, however, the wall section, the same wall that got damaged by Loopty's entrance, also collapsed on him. This time by a Sinner with a spherical body. Said body was black and in a nice black and green suit. The Sinner's mint green head wore a black bowler hat on top. They also had a large bushy light gray mustache and goggles that had dark red spirals on the lens those found Loopty's own goggles. Finally, the Sinner's currently grinning teeth resembled piano keys.
"Moxxie!" Yelled Millie as her husband, once again, was crushed underneath debris caused by a Sinner that had no idea how to use a door it seemed. Uncaring about the Imp beneath him, the new Sinner spoke up.
"Hello, I.M.P.!" Yelled the Sinner as they made their way to Loopty, who was currently pissing off Loona, whose teeth were bared at him in anger. "My name is Lyle Lipton! Partner and cofounder of Lyle-Loopty Robotics along with my friend here! Loopty Goopty!" Loopty smiled at the now named Lyle, slapping his back in joy.
"Exactly and we are here to hire your services!" Yelled Loopty in an excited tone before bringing out a picture of out of nowhere and shoving it straight into Blitzo's face. "This is the woman that we need you to kill!" Annoyed at Loopty, even more so when he and his partner smelled like the living world, something that only happens to those that just recently died and went to Hell, Blitzo nonetheless took the picture and examined it.
The woman was human, obviously, but an attractive one. Short black hair done in a style that didn't let any hair strands obscure her eyes with the longest strand being around halfway down her forehead. Light brown eyes that were nearly grey in coloration. A lovely face with tan skin that complemented the eyes and short black hair. All in all, an attractive human female, but Blitzo wasn't attracted to humans. Or Sinners for that matter. Not that it mattered right now anyway. If she was who these assholes wanted dead then he was all for it. That bitch better not like her look right now because she was going to lose it when coming to Hell.
"Not even a shit's length of time in Hell and already plotting revenge?" Said Blitzo with a smile before walking over to the two recently arrived Sinners. He may get in trouble for this later, but maybe doing just one quick job won't hurt. Besides, if anything happens, he can just blame Verosika for taking up so much damn time to do her job for Moxxie's dad. He was told that his assignment was one that relied on Verosika doing her job and how well. So, he can just blame her if Moxxie's dad doesn't like what he's doing now. Hopefully. "I can respect men with that sort of passion! I'm Blitz, the "o" is silent." Blitzo then Loopty's hand and shook it before doing the same with Lyle.
"What "o"?" Said Loopty, not understanding what Blitzo meant with the "o" as his name didn't have any "o" in it with the way he pronounced it.
"Aww thank you." Said Blitzo, taking Loopty's confusion regarding his name as a compliment. "Now what's the tea, sis?"
"The tea?" Asked a confused Loopty, not understanding the expression at all.
"Yeah, why're we killing this bitch? I mean, what did she do to you?" Said Blitzo, playfully bumping into Loopty. Realizing what the Imp meant, Loopty explained the reasoning.
"She was…the bitch that stole everything from us!" Exclaimed Loopty before going on to explain the situation to Blitzo and the other members of I.M.P. "You see, my partner and I were not always this old. We used to be young, handsome, and very rich! We owned a company called
Lyle-Loopty Robotics, a technological empire! Earlier today, we were building a device that could have stopped or even reversed the aging process of humans! It would have saved all the rich!" It was then that Lyle started butting into the conversation, looking pissed off.
"But then, just as we were about to finish our work, a piece of shit whore and her cohort of sluts came into our building and induced some sort of hypnotic device on us that made us sex-hungry freaks!" Yelled Lyle before continuing further. "And if it that wasn't enough, they not only had sex with us, but also had us sign a fucking contract that basically had our hard earned company be liquidated and transferred to a rival company! And then, to top it all off, they fucking killed us with our newest invention!" Lyle was now rolling around like wheel in rage as steam literally blew out of his ears. He remembered how that slut, Verosika Mayday, led him and Loopty to their machine and then placed them in the machine. Still in a lust hazed state, the two complied with her wishes when she ordered them to stay put. She then locked the chamber and started the machine, which held an option to actually advance one's aging as well. Truth be told, he wondered why they even installed that in the first place when it defeated the purpose of the machine, but that was a discussion for another time. When he wasn't full of rage at what Verosika did. She'll pay, but after the bitch that ordered the hit on them in the first place.
"Piece of shit whore and her sluts?" Asked Blitzo, realizing that these two were the rich fucks that he was waiting for. Well that certainly complicates matters for him. Thinking quickly, Blitzo was trying to think up of a plan to handle this as Loopty and Lyle raged over the injustice done to them by their rival, going on a tirade of how shitty their products were and how they resorted to using sluts to get what they want. In the middle of their tirade, Blitzo suddenly got a brilliant idea and got a big smile on his face.
"You know what, I completely agree." Said Blitzo as he interrupted the tirade from the two shitty old suckers. "Now, how about we skip all the dialogue about this bitch and what she did to you, and let's get to the bottom line. As in, killing her."
"Yes!" Yelled Loopty, liking the enthusiasm of Blitzo on taking his job. "Now get your crimson asses up above and send that heartless, cheating, whore to Hell, where she belongs!"
"And make sure that you do it in a painful fashion!" Yelled Lyle as he glared at the Imps with a devious smile on his face. "We want her to suffer for not only humiliating us and killing us but also destroying all our hard work as well." Upon hearing that, Blitzo began rubbing his hands together greedily.
"Well, in that case, for a little extra dough, we could take our time in killing her. We got respectable rates." Said Blitzo, intending on milking them for all their dough. He then proceeded to lead them to his office so they could discuss the price and rates for the job. Meanwhile, Millie was digging her husband out of the second debris pile on him, worried for his health. She was so going to enjoy killing those two pricks for hurting her husband.

Mordekaiser
"Are you certain that this is the right course of action?" Asked Gwen as she escorted the last of the villagers to the lodge-like building's basement. Giving a child to their mother, Gwen gave the people an assuring smile before closing the door leading to the basement.
"Yes." Said Rogier/Mordekaiser as he casted a spell on the door. He had already done the same to the other entrances to the basement that prevented access to said basement unless he permitted it. Anyone that tried will…well, let's just say they'll wish they hadn't. He also casted a magical barrier around the basement that prevented a magical means to enter as well as protect the people from the influence of the Shadow Isles' Black Mist. Of course, as he has little experience with the Black Mist, he couldn't guarantee his spells can protect the villagers, but he was confident they would. He was skilled in the magical arts including ways to protect one from mind altering magic. And if, by some miracle, they don't protect the villagers, he imagined Gwen wouldn't be too upset at him. "The villagers would be protected from what fighting we do against the arriving Wraiths and won't be in our way of protecting them. Would that not be better than fighting with them around?"
Gwen couldn't really argue with that logic. It would be safer and more practical if they were all in one safe location and away from the fighting. She just hoped that whatever magic this Rogier was using would protect them from the Black Mist and the wraiths. She was a bit skeptical of using his magic to protect them, but once she sensed that nothing was amiss with it, it did leave a chilling aura though not to dissimilar to ice magic, she allowed him to continue using his magic to protect the villagers.
Truth be told, it took a bit of convincing of the village elder to follow with their plan. He was not only reluctant to have all his people in one spot when an attack was coming, but also fearful of Mr. Rogier because of his appearance and the aura around him, which was not only foreboding in general but also cold in nature. It took much convincing from Gwen's part to have him go along with the plan, much more than when she first arrived and tried to convince the villagers that she was a friend, but eventually, probably due to the encroaching threat, did the elder agreed to their plan. Of course, he warned Gwen that he'll hold her responsible for any injuries or deaths of his people, which Gwen accepted. As much as she knew that she was making things harder for her by siding with this Rogier, she didn't regret her choice.
There was something about him. Something she couldn't quite understand, but there was something about this Rogier that made her want to trust him. That told her that he was a good man, despite his appearance and his aura of dread and chilling air, something that scared the villagers quite a bit. That there was more to him than meets the eye. So, with some reservation, Gwen decided to trust him and its worked out so far.
His actions thus far have done nothing to harm the villagers or her. Nor has he done anything to warrant mistrust towards him. In fact, he's done nothing but be a friend and ally to her and the villagers. He was a true ally and she can't help but feel a little guilty and saddened that he's doing so much for the villagers and he's still treated with suspicion by the villagers and herself still by a bit, much to her shame and disappointment. Hopefully that'll change when they defend this village from the wraiths that were coming here.
She could sense their presence and the Black Mist that permeates from any and all things that either come from the Shadow Isles or those that have been touched by it and have been corrupted by it. They were close by and they'll be here soon. How many, she didn't know, but what she did know was that she needed Rogier's help in order to protect the villagers from harm. She just hoped that she and Rogier were enough to protect everyone from the wraiths.
The moment Rogier finished his last spell, Gwen spoke up.
"Are we ready?" Asked Gwen, causing Rogier to look back at her.
"We are." Said Rogier/Mordekaiser as he looked at her. "We should proceed outside. The Wraiths are near. It would be better to fight them outside rather than in this lodge. My wards can only do so much for the villagers if we fight inside the building." Gwen nodded in agreement at that and so the two stepped out of the building and walked towards the front of said building. From there they could sense the coming Wraiths. They could feel the despair and hatred emitting from them as they marched onto this village, a prelude to the threat that was coming. They were close and would be soon upon them.
"I hope your ready for a fight." Said Gwen as she brought out a pair of blue scissors and enlarged them, causing them to dwarf her in height. Looking at her choice of weapon, Rogier/Mordekaiser said nothing as he looked at it. A strange choice of weapon, but he could feel the magic within the scissors. They were of the same essence that comprised this Gwen's being, meaning it was just as magical as herself. So, he was eager to see it in action.
Summoning his mace, Nightfall, Rogier/Mordekaiser couldn't help but relish the fact that he was entering into battle again after so long. It had been too long since his mace had tasted combat along with himself for that matter. The slaughter of those law enforcement warriors or the humiliation of the Radio Demon didn't count. They were mere demonstrations of his power. Nothing more. Neither demonstration required much effort on his part nor did they endanger him at all. This battle, however, would be his first true battle in thousands of years and he couldn't help but relish it. He'll no doubt enjoy this battle, even if it would be likely a trivial one.
"The same could be said to you." Said Rogier/Mordekaiser as he grasped Nightfall, made smaller to accommodate his own smaller frame at the moment. "I expect great things from you in the coming battle." Upon hearing that, Gwen gave him a smile.
"Likewise. I hope I won't let you down." Said Gwen, her smile almost infectious with how bright and joyous it was. Looking at her, Rogier/Mordekaiser said nothing as they prepared themselves for battle. Soon, the first group of wraiths made themselves known. On the village's edge, a half a dozen dark grey-skinned undead wraiths looked at the lodge and saw Rogier/Mordekaiser and Gwen standing in front of it, ready for a fight. Sensing the power within both, the wraiths roared before charging into the village to fight in the name of the Ruined King.
