Genesis Conglomerate Headquarters
South Korea
In the lands known as South Korea, a mass of news reporters surrounded the headquarters of the Genesis Conglomerate, one of the many front companies of Mordekaiser throughout Earth and one of his most successful so far. Not only have they become a successful company in their seeded country, but they have influence on an international level. They have firms and subsidiaries in quite a handful of fields, mainly technological and resource ones. And their influence only continues to grow. In time, they'll become South Korea's number one company, raking in so much profit that it's a miracle that they haven't bankrupted their competition yet. Something that concerns some people somewhat. Although the South Korean government claims that they'll deal with the Genesis Conglomerate if its influence starts to become a danger to democracy and those of its business rival, many do not believe that the government can stop the Genesis Conglomerate from expanding their influence in areas that the government doesn't want them to have influence. Some even believed that the Genesis Conglomerate has already become too powerful for the South Korean government to handle.
The reason for this was because of New Dawn Energy, Genesis' ace in the hole. No one outside the company knew how it was made and how Genesis made it so profitable while offering it at such a cheap price. Companies, both inside and outside of South Korea, have attempted to uncover the secrets of New Dawn Energy, only to end up with nothing. Not how it was created, how it was created in the first place, or even some of the materials used in its construction beyond the common elements. Any attempts to do so typically ended with the spies or agents getting banned from any Genesis' property, or just disappear entirely. Never to be seen again.
Attempts, largely from companies that have investments in older, more established energy production methods, have been made to slander and discredit New Dawn Energy, trying to prevent it from becoming more widespread than it already is, thus being a danger to their profits, but such attempts always end in failure in one way or another. The Genesis Conglomerate was very good at its PR campaigns and influencing people to do things their way.
Speaking of PR campaigns, one Genesis Conglomerate official was currently dealing with the swarm of news reporters surrounding the company's headquarters, answering whatever questions they had.
Said official was a female around her late twenties. Short black hair done in a style that didn't let any hair strands obscure her eyes with the longest strand being around halfway down her forehead. Light brown eyes that were nearly grey in coloration. A lovely face with tan skin that complemented the eyes and short black hair. She wore a black business suit and skirt with grey outlines that complimented her figure. Overall, she was attractive, but that was irrelevant. What was relevant was that she was dealing with a swarm of news reporters and judging by the frown currently on her face, she was starting to get annoyed with all of them.
"As I said before to you all, the Genesis Conglomerate will not be confirming the identity of who will lead our new United States of America branch. That is because we are still deciding who will be the most qualified to both lead and manage this new branch. We want this branch to succeed, thus we're looking over all qualified personnel we have to determine who amongst them is the best to operate our newest branch." Said the woman, her voice laced with annoyance and showing signs of frustration with the crowd before her. They all have been asking the same questions over and over again for the past hour and it was starting to really frustrate the woman. Don't they have better questions to ask her? Or better yet, leave and never come back. They were starting to interfere with company business, mainly in that she could be doing something better right now than answering the same questions over and over again. "Now, if that is all, I must ask that you all leave immediately. You've taken much of my time already and you are preventing people from entering our headquarters. Thus, I politely ask you all to leave now. You have overstayed your welcome. You have ten minutes to leave the premises before security will make you leave."
There were protests regarding this, but the woman was having none of it, making her way inside the Genesis Conglomerate's headquarter building. Entering the lobby without too much issue, the woman sighed before going over to the reception area. Upon arriving, she told the receptionist that she's heading to her office and that she wasn't to be disturbed unless it was something actually important. With that done, the woman walked to an elevator that will take her to her office where she can hopefully relax for a bit until she was needed again.
Walking to an elevator and pushing the button that'll lead to the executive floor of the building, the woman watched as it took her up, allowing her to see the overlook the city that the Genesis Conglomerate's Headquarters was in. Located in the City of Daejeon, the Headquarters of the Genesis Conglomerate was relatively close enough to the Capital City of South Korea, Seoul, that they can benefit from the major cities' close proximity while also being far away enough from the Korea DMZ that, if open conflict breaks out again between the North and South, the Genesis Conglomerate has time to move its important people and research to safety. At least in theory.
Looking over the city, the woman thought of how easily the people in it and all over the world is so ignorant to the truth of existence. What else was out there and how close and involved it was to the existence of humanity. And they didn't even realize it or just believe it all just be fiction or apart of a religion. Some do believe in some of it, but are either deemed insane or simply don't know the full truth of it all. Fools.
"In time, they'll all know the truth." Thought the woman as she looked at the city before her. "Until then, they'll be ignorant and their soon-to-be master will teach them the truth."
Soon the elevator brought her to the executive floor of the building. Walking out and towards her office, the woman soon heard her cellphone ringing. Bringing it out, she looked at it and frowned while raising an eyebrow. Putting the phone back where into her pocket, the woman continued to her office. After a few minutes of walking, she found her office with a team of security officers outside of it. Unlike those that patrolled and monitored the areas that the public and visitors from rival companies that wished to do business were allowed to venture in, these officers wore fully dressed in combat gear and carried fully automatic rifles and shotguns.
Unlike the militaries on Earth, which tended to only wear a bullet-proof vest and a combat helmet to protect against shrapnel, the security officers of the Genesis Conglomerate used body armor that fully encased the user in a protective composite made from a variety of materials that enabled it to be lightweight enough for normal human usage for an extended period of time but also be protective enough to be cost effective to mass produce. At least that was what the engineers told the board of directors when the armor was introduced to their security forces. The armor was still untested and hasn't seen actual combat. So some members of the board felt they were an unnecessary expense, even more so when the Genesis Conglomerate doesn't dabble in military body armor or even putting the armor up for sale. It also didn't help that their security, both cyber and physical, was second to none. No company secrets were ever leaked to their rivals throughout the company's existence and their facilities were always in secure and safe locations. So, why do they need to have such expensive equipment for their security forces? Especially when they could simply hire an outside contractor to do so if they wanted to, which would be cheaper than building their own.
These skeptics have tried to put a motion about this in board meeting, according to her friends in the board. Fortunately, they were outvoted by the other board members who knew their true allegiance belonged to and so the armor was allowed to stay and be distributed to their security forces in areas where the public had no access to, much to the chagrin of those that see the armor as an unnecessary expense.
The woman, however, knew why that armor was created in the first place and its true purpose. It was created on orders of the Iron Revenant, Mordekaiser. He desired a battle armor that will not only serve the living under his command, but also those that served him in death as well. An effective armor that will serve him in the battles to come. Not just in Hell, but also for his conquests for Earth, Heaven, and Runeterra. Such conquests will not just require many warriors, something the Iron Revenant is constantly doing, but also powerful technology and weapons to not only minimize casualties on his armies but also inflict more on the enemy as well. And what better way to test that these new weapons and technologies for Mordekaiser's armies and Mitna Rachnun than by having the living test them out for the undead.
Most of the technologies created by Mordekaiser's various front companies have seen much trial and error since their development by the living, both by those that knew who they were truly meant for and those that didn't. Some were failures, admittedly, but many more have proven to be successful, which led them to being incorporated into Mitna Rachnun and Mordekaiser's vast armies, to be used when the time came to start Mordekaiser's conquests.
As for the armor itself, that had actually been tested by the people of Mitna Rachnun themselves. When the technology couldn't be tested by the living world for whatever reason, the people of Mitna Rachnun would test it themselves. They also test those technologies that were tested by their living allies. Both to see if they are as good as the living claim with them and if they couldn't be improved further.
So, if the armor was tested by the people of Mitna Rachnun and they deem it worthy of them, its clear that the armor was good and not a waste of time as the skeptics on the board claim it to be. But enough of that, the woman had a task at hand, which was determining why a security team was outside her private office in the executive floor. When the security team saw her approaching, the lead officer, identifiable by the red strip on the left shoulder piece of his armor, walked up to her.
"What is the meaning of this?" Asked the woman as she looked at the officer in charge. She already knew the answer, but wanted to hear from the security team themselves.
"A silent alarm was tripped in your office, ma'am." Said the lead officer. "When we entered to confront whoever was inside, we found nothing however. No signs of anyone entering the room. No signs of documents being taken. Nothing at all. It was if no one was there in the first place."
"I see." Said the woman as she processed this. "Is it possible that the alarm was triggered by an error in the system?"
"Its possible." Said the officer. "But that'll have to be reported. Such an error should not be made in the first place. Especially in the executive floor."
"Agreed." Said the woman. "Now, officer, if you don't mind, I would like to enter my office. I've had a long day and I desire to relax there until I'm needed again."
"Are you sure about that, ma'am." Said the lead officer as he looked at the woman in surprise that she wanted to go to her office now and not allow him and his men to do a complete sweep of said office first. "We haven't completed our search of the area yet. We haven't yet determined if its safe for you to enter there."
"It'll be quite alright, officer." Said the woman as she raised a hand up. "I'm sure the area is safe for me to enter. However, just to be safe, have your team near the area on standby. I could be wrong, of course." The security officer didn't like her answer, but nonetheless, did what he was told and ordered what men he had inside her office exit the room. Once all the security personnel were gone from her office and the immediate vicinity, the woman entered her office. Upon entering it, she found nothing was out of the ordinary. Everything was as it was when she left her office last time. At least so it seemed. Walking to her desk, she examined it for anything missing or out of the ordinary.
Her computer was where it was and unpowered. Her shelf of binders and notebooks were untampered. And her drawers still had all their contents it seemed. Overall, it seemed nothing out of the ordinary and that the alarm was just a result of a mechanical failure. At least, that was what one that didn't know what was actual out there would claim.
Sitting on her office chair, the woman powered up her computer before speaking up.
"If this is how I.M.P. operates, then your organization doesn't belong in the hitman industry. That industry requires something called being stealthy. Something you failed at when you decided to open a portal right in my office." Said the woman as she waited for her computer to fully boot up. The moment she said that, she heard a muffled voice coming from one of her cabinets to her left.
"Oh fuck you, bitch." Said the voice before the woman went over to the cabinets and opened the one where the voice came from, revealing Blitzo inside. Crammed with a bunch of papers and folders that were not doubt crumbling beneath him.
"Where are your cohorts?" Said the woman as she looked at Blitzo, ignoring the damage he did to company property with his choice of hiding spot. Blitzo simply pointed to the cabinets below him, causing her to sigh. "Of course they did." She then opened the other cabinets to find both Millie and Moxxie in them as well. One for each of them.
"You all realize you damaged company property when you entered those cabinets, right?" Asked the woman as she stepped back to allow the Imps room to get out of the cabinets. "If it was applicable, I would be sending you a bill for the damages you had done to company property."
"As if we would ever pay that, even if we were live in the living world." Said Blitzo as the Imps got out of their hiding spots. "Not like you company bitches can't afford to replace some old pieces of paper and binders. That like, what, chump change to what you all can get with your salaries. I bet you can replace all that and the entire cabinet there with just an hour of work with your salary pay." If the woman was amused with Blitzo's mouth, she didn't show it.
"I can see why our mutual associate warned me about your mouth and attitude." Said the woman before going over to her desk and sitting in her chair. She said mutual associate because she knew that Blitzo and Millie, that was the names she was given regarding the Imps that were coming to meet her alongside the Iron Revenant's adopted son, didn't know about the truth about Mordekaiser yet. That will come in time and not by her mouth. "You have quite an attitude. One that makes someone wish to kill you. Painfully I might add."
"Just try it, human." Said Blitzo with a smirk. "Anyway, let's get to business. Our mutual associate told us to come to you when two rich assholes kicked the bucket. Wants us to kill them in Hell and he told us that you have the thing to do it."
"A crude summarization, but yes." Said the woman as she looked at Blitzo with a dull expression on her face. She then opened up a drawer on her desk and pulled out a metal box from it. After placing it on her desk, she opened the box to reveal two guns and a dozen bullets were inside. Though the bullets looked like ordinary bullets at first glance, the Imps saw that they have some sort of vial inside them that contained a greenish-blue liquid at the tip, which was transparent enough for them to see said liquid. She then the bullets handed to the Imps. "This is what you'll need to kill both Lyle Lipton and Loopty Goopty. Just shoot them with these bullets and they'll be permanently dead and out of our hairs. Do this and our associate will consider your debt to him fulfilled. And you may gain a bonus for this as well. Provided you actually do your job correctly."
"So that slut did get paid after all!" Yelled Blitzo with a glare. "What the fuck? Why the hell did you pay her? Don't you know that she forcibly fucked one of my employees, thus starting this whole fucking thing in the first place."
"We paid her because she did her job correctly." Said the woman with some annoyance in her voice. "We got what we want from her, the entirety of Lyle-Loopty Robotics and the death of their owners. She accomplished her objectives well and thus she received payment. A bonus as well with how well she did it all. The scandal that will come from her little…act with them will help solidify our acquisition of their company. If you do as well, you'll get paid as well. Its as simple as that. Or do you desire to do this for free?" Upon hearing that, Blitzo shut up and simply took the box from the woman. "Excellent. Kill them and come back to me with news of their death. You'll receive your reward then." Blitzo just grumbled at her words before pulling out his Hellphone and calling Loona so she can bring them back to Hell. When she saw this, the woman made a note to make an excuse for the alarm in her room going off again because of this. As she did so, she saw Moxxie, the adopted son of the Iron Revenant, coming to her with an apologetic look on his face.
"Sorry about, my boss, ma'am." Said Moxxie as he apologized on behalf of Blitzo, knowing that he won't do so. "He's not the most…respectful of people out there."
"I've been told." Said the woman as she looked at Moxxie with a respectful gaze. Not only was he the adopted son of her lord and master, but he was also respectful as well. Much more than that Blitzo fellow. "No need to apologize on his behalf. If a disrespectful Imp is enough to enrage me, I wouldn't be a senior administrator of your father's company nor have knowledge of Hell itself."
"Oh, of course." Said Moxxie before asking a question. "If you don't mind me asking, but when did my father create your company? I never heard of him creating a company on Earth. Much less a conglomerate." It kind of hurt Moxxie that his dad never told him about this Genesis Conglomerate before, but then again, they haven't really interacted with one another much. Something he really should rectify soon. He's a fully grown man now with a lovely wife and, somewhat stable, job at the moment. Plus, his dad no doubt wanted to know about all the spells and knowledge he managed to get from Stolas' book. Granted it wasn't much because of Blitzo keeping the book in a safe in his office when it wasn't in use and the fact that he keeps bringing it to his meetups with Stolas, but it still should be enough to warrant visiting his dad.
"I believe that's something that you should discuss with your father." Said the woman as she looked at Moxxie. "That is not something I have permission to divulge to you. Even if I did, I wouldn't. Like I said, this should be something you and your father should discuss. After all, if you truly love each other, then he will not hesitate to divulge that information to you if you ask. Am I not correct?" Upon hearing that, Moxxie looked at the floor before nodding.
"Yeah. Yeah, you're right." Said Moxxie with a small nod. Millie, upon seeing this, looked at her husband in concern.
"Moxxie." Said Millie in concern and worry.
"Its nothing, Millie." Said Moxxie as he looked at his wife with a small smile. "Its just something I need to speak with my dad." He then looked at the woman before speaking up. "Thank you, Miss…"
"Imogene." Said the woman. "Imogene Park. Now, please leave quickly before security comes and finds out here when you open a portal here. Most of the security personnel are aware of our true allegiance, but not all of them. And I like to avoid the hassle of bribing them to keep quiet if any of them are the ones to catch you all. So please leave now."
"We got it, bitch." Said Blitzo just as a portal to Hell opened up. "C'mon guys. Let's go kill some old fucks so we can get our payment from these fuckers once we're done with all this bullshit." With that Blitzo entered the portal with Moxxie and Millie following soon after. Once the Imps were through the portal, it closed and Imogene went to her computer and started to work on it.
"I can see why the Iron Revenant doesn't like that Blitzo." Said Imogene as she started to type.
Present
Mordekaiser
"So, I assume the mission was a success." Said Mordekaiser as he looked at Keira, who simply nodded.
"Yes, milord." Said Keira. "The report from the Genesis Conglomerate have proven that our new neurotoxin formula has proven most adept at killing Sinners. From eyewitness accounts of our spies who observed Lyle and Loopty as they were killed, they hit the ground mere seconds after being shot at by the bullets containing our neurotoxins. They collected the corpses and found that their insides have liquidated from the injections, ensuring their deaths and ensuring we can still use their corpses for materials at your own discretion, milord."
"Excellent." Said Mordekaiser, pleased with the results. "Tell the Genesis Conglomerate that they have permission to mass produce our new poison and that they have permission to improve upon it as well. And, if they haven't already, pay Blitzo for his service. Much as he's an annoyance, he did his job well."
"At once, milord." Said Keira. "And of your son? Miss Park had advised speaking to him. He seemed to be distraught over recently learning about the Genesis Conglomerate and how you control it." Mordekaiser stayed silent at that for a moment before speaking.
"I'll see to it." Said Mordekaiser, seeing no harm in doing so. "But first, keep an eye on my newest query. This Gwen from Runeterra. She interests me. She has some connections to the Shadow Isles, yet her magic and connection is rather unique. I desire to know more about it. So have some of our infiltrators keep an eye on her."
"It will be done, milord." Said Keira. "Is there anything else?"
"Yes, there is." Said Mordekaiser, remembering his conversation with that mysterious woman sometime ago. "Our recent…benefactor claimed that this Lyle-Loopty Robotics had something of great value to me. Something that will prove that she has my interests in mind. Have we found what that is?"
"Actually, we did." Said Keira. "The Niskaru we sent to raid Lyle-Loopty Robotics' storage areas have found something quite strange within them. They brought it here after their handler determined it was of no danger to us. Shall I lead you to it?"
"Do so." Said Mordekaiser as he raised from his throne. With that, Keira began leading her lord to where they kept the item they acquired from Lyle-Loopty Robotics. Eventually, she led him to a small warehouse like building in Mitna Rachnun that had what Keira was leading her master to. Upon entering, Mordekaiser can see a sizable metal box in the middle of the building along with several Niskaru, all of them staring at the box hungrily and blades at the ready. The box in question was large enough to contain a normal sized human, if only barely. Intrigued, Mordekaiser ordered it opened up.
The Niskaru, heeding the words of their master, did so and began slicing up the metal box, their bone-like sword emitting out of their palms, making short work of the metal container's outer shell. Once they did, Mordekaiser was able to see the contents and he couldn't help but be surprised at what he saw.
Within the metal box was a man, who was currently on the ground after being released from his metal prison. The man was encased in metal armor similar to that of Mordekaiser's own armor. Instead of an all-metal helmet, however, this man had a helm made out of what looked like bone and flesh. Old and gaunt bones and flesh. His physique, what can be seen underneath his armor, was rather impressive akin to the fictional Vikings of old in that he looked like he can tear apart a fully grown man in half or kill a dozen men at once without pause. Finally, his greenish-blue eyes, though dimmed, showed power in them. Power and rage.
Upon seeing this, Mordekaiser let out a chuckle as he approached the man, who looked up at the approaching Revenant in surprise.
"I am surprised to see you again, Voraq." Said Mordekaiser as he looked at the man. "But it is not undesirable." The Iron Revenant then turned to Keira. "Keira, meet one of the original Deathsworn. Voraq. A master of manipulating the ways of flesh, life, and demons." He then looked back at Voraq and saw the man growl a bit before getting up. Once he did, he kneeled before Mordekaiser and spoke.
"Milord." Said Voraq, his voice raspy, but full of conviction. Mordekaiser let loose a small bark of dark laughter at this, pleased. Very pleased at this turn of events.
