Chapter 41
Moxxie
"Sir, are you feeling okay?" Asked Moxxie as he tried to look at Blitzo to no avail on account of the chair he was tied up on preventing him from turning much at all. There was also the fact that Blitzo was tied up on a chair that was pressed against his own, preventing each other from seeing the other much.
The two had just recovered from a gas attack that forced them to speak the truth no matter what. The gas also forced them to reveal their most private of secrets towards each other. For Blitzo it was his fear of dying alone and unloved on account of all the people that tried to get close to him but he constantly pushed away because of that past trauma that Moxxie wasn't able to find out yet.
"Not really, Moxxie." Said Blitzo after a moment, his voice bereft of his usual confidence and infuriating tone. Hearing this, Moxxie spoke up to Blitzo.
"Sir, if it makes you feel any better, I don't think you're a waste of space." Said Moxxie as he tried to comfort or cheer Blitzo up a bit. "Despite everything you do to me, despite all the insults, I'm proud to be working with you. I wouldn't have stayed if I didn't." It was a lie, at least a little. He stayed because his father wanted him to keep an eye on Stolas' Grimoire and record any and all spells within it that he could get away with, something he's been doing whenever he got a chance alone with the book. Which was actually quite frequent. Blitzo wasn't…the most attentive. In fact, the safe combination of where the book was usually in as so easy to crack that it made Moxxie just twitch in frustration at the stupidity of it all.
"Don't give me that shit, Moxxie." Said Blitzo solemnly. "I know why you're still working for me along with Millie. It's because of that dad of yours." Blinking at that, Moxxie then remembered his own confession during their whole truth gas-induced confession.
Few minutes ago
"Despite everything I do and know, I feel that I do not live up to my father's expectations!" Yelled Moxxie as a dark shadow forming his father's true self appeared behind him, looming over him and blanketing him in shadows. "Despite knowing that he loves me despite my inadequacies, I feel that I will always not live up to his expectations. That I will always live in his shadow. That I will always be indebted to him for everything that happened in my life. My job. My love. And even the experiences I have gained. All of it is because of him!"
Present
For Moxxie's part, he revealed he had a sense of inadequacy that he was up to the job that his father gave him as well as living up to his standards. That he wanted to make him proud despite constant assurances from both Mordekaiser and Millie that he didn't have to do more to make Mordekaiser proud of him. That he already did and that he didn't need to do more to earn his adoptive father's pride for him. Perhaps it was his desire to repay his dad for all that he did for him. Perhaps he wanted to do something as grand as what his father was planning on doing for Hell. Perhaps it was simply him feeling that he wasn't good enough for his dad. Compared to what he did and was doing right now, from what Moxxie heard at least, Moxxie's own accomplishments were sorely lacking.
Regardless of that, Moxxie was stunned to hear Blitzo say that he and Millie were only in I.M.P. because of his dad.
"Why would you say that, sir?" Asked Moxxie, wondering what made Blitzo come to that conclusion. Sure, it was the primary reason that he and Millie signed up to join I.M.P. in the first place, but over time, they began to like working for Blitzo despite Moxxie's many criticisms towards Blitzo's unprofessionalism and downright unacceptable behavior towards him and Millie.
"Your dad." Said Blitzo simply before sighing. "Moxxie, I didn't say this before because I didn't want you to have a change of opinion of your dad, but after we dealt with Lyle and Loopty, your dad came to me with our payment. But that wasn't the only thing that we gave us.
Sometime ago
"Argh!" Yelled Blitzo as he was slammed into the desk of his office, nearly cracking it in two with the force that Mordekaiser/Rogier gave as he slammed Blitzo's head into said desk.
"That is a mere fraction of what you deserve for what you allowed my son to endure." Said Mordekaiser/Rogier simply as he dug his boney hand into Blitzo's scalp, almost drawing blood. The two were alone in Blitzo's office to discuss payment for what Blitzo had done for him regarding Lyle and Loopty. Everyone else, including Moxxie, were out of the office on request of Mordekaiser and Blitzo was forced to comply. Now he could see why. Once everyone was out of the office, Mordekaiser/Rogier grabbed him and proceeded to manhandle him.
"If I had my way, I would have you served as an example to all of Hell on what would happen to those that dare to assault those under my care. And those that fail in their duty to take care of him." Said Mordekaiser/Rogier as he pressed down hard on Blitzo. "However, doing so now would not only upset Moxxie, but also make undermine my stance on giving one a chance to redeem themselves. And you did accomplish your task adequately, so I will let you live and with minimal injuries. However," Mordekaiser/Rogier then slowly pushed a boney finger into Blitzo's right, causing him to scream in agony as the finger pushed harder and harder against his eye, threatening to penetrate and destroy his eye forever. "If something akin to this happens again, I will not be as merciful as I am right now and I will make you regret ever catching my attention with your business and that book of Stolas. And believe me, there are things worse than death." With that, Mordekaiser/Rogier let go of Blitzo and began to walk away. But not before bringing out a briefcase and tossing it at Blitzo's desk, which landed perfectly in front of the Imp. "Your payment for a job well done." And thus, he left Blitzo alone with his payment and a very real fear of Moxxie's dad.
Present
"That's what my dad did?" Asked Moxxie in shock as he tried to look at Blitzo to no avail. After receiving the payment from his dad, Blitzo suddenly gave everyone a week off of work, saying the money they earned was more than enough to cover the expenses lost from a whole week off. Moxxie, of course, tried to protest this, believing Blitzo was no financially competent enough to handle such a long vacation without putting them into danger of bankruptcy again, but Blitzo wasn't have it. Was his dad the reason he did that.
"Yeah." Said Blitzo as he blinked the eye that Mordekaiser/Rogier jabbed. "Fucker nearly ruined my good eye with that finger of his and straight up told me that it was because of Stolas' book that you and Millie are working for me in the first place. My guess is that he wants to know the spells in that book, is that right Moxxie?" Moxxie didn't say anything at first, but eventually he did.
"Yeah." Said Moxxie, feeling he couldn't keep Blitzo in the dark about the initial reason he was signed up to join I.M.P. "My dad heard about you possessing Stolas' Grimoire and wanted to know the knowledge within it. So, he had both Millie and I be hired by you to both get us a job and acquire that knowledge for him." When Blitzo heard that, he sighed as he began to sag in his chair. Moxxie must have realized this as he gave Blitzo an apology. "Sir, if it makes you feel any better, I'm sorry. For what its worth, Millie and I really enjoyed working for you, despite your many problems. And she didn't have any part in the whole sneaking by you and Loona and acquiring spells from the Grimoire to send to my dad. That was all me so don't put any blame on Mill…"
"Just shut the fuck up, Moxxie." Said Blitzo, but not in his typical aggressive and boisterous voice, something that caused Moxxie to look at him in concern, though he did remain silent like Blitzo asked him to. "You don't need to fucking explain anything, Mox. I don't need to hear your excuse of using me to get to Stolas' book. I'm used to shit like this happening to me." Upon hearing that, Moxxie blinked at Blitzo's words.
"Sir, what do you mean by that?" Asked Moxxie as he tried to understand Blitzo's words, which had been given to him with a dejected and solemn tone. Something that honestly disturbed Moxxie. Even more than Blitzo angrily yelling at him for his real reasons for joining I.M.P. Blitzo just scoffed at him before speaking.
"You really are naïve to how Hell works, huh, Moxxie?" Asked Blitzo sarcastically before explaining. "No one works for anyone there just because they want to or because they like the owner. They work for people because they're either forced to, either by contracts or because they have no fucking other option, or because they want something from their bosses. Whether that be sex, money, or an opportunity to kill them to take their place, it doesn't matter. Everyone in Hell only care about one thing and one thing only. Themselves and anything that helps them advance or stay at the top. Which I guess is actually two things but who the fuck cares. Bottom line, I fucking knew that you and Millie were only helping me just to get something out of me. I just didn't think it would be Stolas' book. I thought it would just be money or killing, but I didn't actually think it be the book. Though I probably should have seen that coming." Moxxie, having heard Blitzo's words, couldn't help but be confused. He knew that he was being used and yet he still kept him and Millie around? Even acting like a pervert around them or acting like they're close friends when they had, at best, a good working relationship. For Hell standards anyway.
The stalking and insults to his manhood, he can see were caused by Blitzo knowing that he was being used, but that didn't explain the sexual obsession he had towards him and Millie. The constant insistence that they were pals or good friends. Why the hell would he act like that towards him and Millie if he knew all along that he was being used to get to Stolas' grimoire?
"Sir, I don't understand." Said Moxxie as he tried to understand this revelation. "You knew that we wanted to join your company for purely selfish reasons yet you kept us around. You put up with my constant complaints towards you and your business ethics. You didn't fire us after that meetup with my dad. And you still stalked us like some perverted and creepy stalker. Why? Why didn't you just fire us the moment you got the perfect excuse or just quietly let us go?"
"For fuck sakes, Mox, how the hell are you still alive in Hell? Better yet, how the hell are you still this naïve?" Asked Blitzo, frustrated with Moxxie. "I kept you guys around because you guys were thousands of times better than what I could normally get from the people of Hell. Millie is easy. All you need to do is give her people to kill and not hurt her husband too much and you got yourself a loyal and capable killer working for you. One that doesn't ask a lot of questions and will always have your back and won't try to backstab you. As for you, well, it's a combination of both your wimpiness and your naivety. That meant that I didn't have to worry about you trying to kill me to take over the company or I can take you on if you ever decide to be a jackass or be out of line. Or if you decide to be stupid and try to kill me. At least, that was my initial plan." Blitzo then sighed before confessing to Moxxie how he felt.
"But then I saw how you two truly love each other. How you genuinely wanted to be married with each other, not because of your bodies or monetary reasons, but because you truly loved one another and shit like that. Do you know how fucking rare shit like that is in Hell? Pretty fucking rare!" Yelled Blitzo as he released his frustrations while confessing to Moxxie how he truly felt about him and his life, suddenly getting the energy to do so. "Not only that but you got a dad that actually gives a shit about you. The way he fucking saved us from all those humans. Taught Verosika and me a lesson for what we put you through. I wish my fucking dad did that for me instead of selling me off to a rich noble and beat me constantly, only seeing me as a way to earn money until I dropped his dead ass for higher purpose! And even then I'm constantly in debt because of my spending habits. I screwed over countless people that just wanted to be loved and now I got us fucking captured by humans, which no doubt get your dad pissed and probably kill me and hurt Loona too! For…for fuck sakes Moxxie I'm jealous of you." Blitzo then deflated as he said his final piece.
"That's why I've been stalking you and recording you and Millie while you have your special moments." Said Blitzo as he looked at the floor, dejected. "Why I make fantasies and fuck with dolls in your likeness. Because, I want what you have with Millie. That true love and affection you have one another. What a married couple and family should be. I love Loona and all, but…she doesn't give me what I want to experience. An actual loving relationship. That's why I put up with you both after I learned why you're actually working for me along with the first reasons. Because I want to be around you both and the happiness you have. Something I can't get in Hell anywhere else." Moxxie said nothing as he processed all the information that Blitzo has given him.
He honestly was surprised and shocked by all these revelations. He never thought that Blitzo, his loudmouth boss and downright insufferable person to be around, would harbor such yearning for what he had. He always acted like he was so happy with what he had already, never wavering in his confidence and love for killing in the slightest. To see him so emotionally vulnerable was a shock to Moxxie.
After a few minutes to collect himself, Moxxie was about to say something to Blitzo when suddenly the door leading to their room burst open and a corpse was sent flying towards them. Shocked, Moxxie looked at the corpse which had half of its face smashed in, making it a bloody mess. Realizing it was one of the humans that interrogated them and one of the humans that captured them in the first place, the female to be exact, Moxxie looked at the door to see his dad coming towards him and Blitzo in his Rogier disguise, holding the other human that captured him in one boney hand, while Millie and Loona were right behind him.
"Moxxie!" Yelled Millie in concern and relief, rushing over to Blitzo and Moxxie to free them from their bindings. Loona walked over to them, trying to hide her very visible concern and relief for Blitzo and Moxxie. "Those humans idiots didn't do anything bad to you, right?"
"Not really." Said Moxxie as his wife untied him. "All they really did was ask us some questions about Hell and then put us on a truth gas-induced high, but that's about it."
"I see." Said Mordekaiser/Rogier before crushing his human captive's neck, killing him, before slamming the corpse to the ground, obliterating it and causing a good chunk of the room to go red with blood. "Then I think its high time we left. Assuming you two haven't told these incompetent humans who know nothing of true fighting anything of note. Yes?"
"Just our thoughts and opinions on each other." Said Moxxie as he looked between his dad and Blitzo, wondering what he should do to stop his dad from really punishing Blitzo. He knew from his childhood that his dad wasn't one for giving third chances to people after they failed him and Blitzo was already on thin ice with his dad after the whole Verosika situation. This capture and subsequent interrogation by humans no doubt would cause Blitzo to suffer an even worse punishment than before, despite it being more lax than the literal sexual assault that Moxxie went through. Something Moxxie didn't want for Blitzo as he knew just how bad his dad's punishments can be. Well, what he knew of his dad's punishments anyway. So, he was hoping to avert his dad punishing Blitzo.
"Dad, you don't need to hurt Blitzo." Said Moxxie as Millie freed Blitzo from his bindings, the tall Imp still a bit despondent after his confession. "The capture was really something of pure dumb luck on the humans part and they didn't really harm us per se. So you don't need to punish him. At least as bad as what you did to Blitzo after Lyle and Loopty." Mordekaiser/Rogier said nothing as he looked at Moxxie while Millie and Loona looked at Moxxie in shock at what they heard.
"Your dad punished Blitzo after we dealt with Lyle and Loopty? But why?" Asked Millie, confused at this new information. "We did a good job, didn't we? We tested that new weapon of your dad and it worked like a charm. It killed both Lyle and Loopty pretty quick and they never came back to the Pride Ring again. Like they got killed from Angelic Weapons. Why would he punish Blitzo?"
"Because he still allowed my son to get sexually assaulted and didn't do anything to prevent it." Said Mordekaiser/Rogier as he moved towards Blitzo, who winced a bit as he looked at Mordekaiser/Rogier coming to him, an aura of dread permeating the air as Mordekaiser/Rogier let his emotions show. Suddenly the air felt colder, as if they were suddenly in the arctic without proper clothing, and everyone suddenly had a really bad chill coming up their spines as Mordekaiser/Rogier got closer to Blitzo, who looked at him in fear of what he'll do to him and potentially Loona.
"Do you honestly expect me to allow that to go unpunished? Better yet, do you expect me to not teach him a lesson on what would happen if he allows his incompetence and behavior endanger my son more than what this job entails? Your leader has shown time and time again that he considers his job as little more than a plaything for him. Something to allow him to indulge on his fantasies instead of actually contributing anything of worth to anything in Hell. He wastes his talents on helping Sinners obtain pointless revenge instead of using his talents to actually helping Hell be better than what it is currently." Said Mordekaiser/Rogier as he got close enough to Blitzo that he was mere inches from him, showcasing just how taller Mordekaiser/Rogier was to Blitzo. "As I said to you before, Blitzo, the only reasons I let you go easy that day was because of Moxxie and my policy of giving you a chance to improve your failures. Well, one of those reasons is gone and I did warn you that the next time you fail, you will not be let off easy. So, tell me. What excuse do you have that will help alleviate the trouble that you are in currently." The Imps, especially Moxxie, and Loona just starred at Blitzo as he started to shake in fear at seeing Mordekaiser/Rogier stare down at him, waiting for his response. Before either of them could do anything, Moxxie spoke up.
"Dad, please let Blitzo go." Said Moxxie as he got between Blitzo and his adoptive father. "He didn't mean for us to get captured by the humans. He didn't mean to get me hurt. It was all just pure bad luck on our part. So, please don't punish something that was beyond his control." Mordekaiser/Rogier looked at Moxxie at his words, starring at his son, which unnerved him a bit, before responding.
"So you desire to have him go unpunished?" Asked Mordekaiser/Rogier as he looked at his adopted son, his tone monotone. "To encourage him to allow something like this to occur again? Is that what you asking me?"
"No. If you have to punish him for this, okay, but don't hurt him too badly. Or hurt him at all. He shouldn't get punished for things that was out of his control, dad. That's not fair nor right." Pleaded Moxxie as he looked at Millie taking Blitzo away from Mordekaiser while Loona was subtly taking out Stolas' grimoire and readying a portal. Before he could motion for them to stop, Mordekaiser/Rogier suddenly raised his hand and out formed a giant sickly green hand that grabbed Loona. Yelping, Loona couldn't do anything as the hand grabbed her, stopping her from conjuring a portal to Hell as it held her so tightly that she couldn't move a muscle.
"Loona!" Yelled Blitzo in concern for his daughter. He tried to help his daughter, but Millie held him back in fear for his life.
"Dad! No!" Yelled Moxxie as he saw what was happening to Loona. He rushed towards his dad and tugged on his robes. "Don't hurt her! She didn't do anything!"
"I'm not going to hurt her." Said Mordekaiser/Rogier simply as he had the hand simply plucked the Grimoire from Loona's hand. It then tossed the book to Mordekaiser/Rogier before dissipating completely, causing Loona to gasp out in shock.
"For Satan's sake." Said Loona as she sat on the ground, shocked at how fast everything happened before her with the hand, shaking as she looked at Moxxie's dad. Seeing his daughter safe, Blitzo broke free of Millie's grip before rushing towards his daughter to make sure she was alright.
"Dad, please stop." Said Moxxie as tears began to form in his eyes as he saw just how scary and cruel his dad can be before his very eyes. "All of this is unnecessary. Just let us all go back to Hell and forget this ever happen. Blitzo will learn to be more careful, I promise, just please stop all this." Mordekaiser/Rogier just starred at the book in his hand before looking over to his son as tears began to fall, causing that stirring in his being to happen again. Squashing it down before it could make him do something foolish, Mordekaiser/Rogier spoke.
"Very well." Said Mordekaiser/Rogier before opening his own portal. "Take the portal. It'll lead you to your office. As for the grimoire, I'm taking it for myself. If I can't punish Blitzo through my normal means, then I'll simply take the one thing that'll help him achieve his business goals. I'll return the grimoire in a week. Until then, leave and ponder on this day. All of you." With that, the Imps and Hellhound just went and took the portal home. Before he went through it, Moxxie looked at his dad, tears still in his eyes. He wanted to speak to him, but ultimately decided against it. He then went through the portal, leaving Mordekaiser/Rogier alone with the grimoire and the corpses of humans he killed. Once he was alone, Mordekaiser/Rogier looked at the grimoire before retracting it to his very person.
"At least I obtained something of worth from this venture." Thought Mordekaiser before thinking about Moxxie and his tear-stained face. This caused that stirring of emotion to stir up again, causing him to growl. He then brought out the weapon that Keira provided him. He aimed it at one of the corpses before firing.
Later
Moxxie's and Millie's apartment
"You okay, hun?" Asked Millie as she looked at her husband as he sat on their bed, looking at the night sky of Hell. The male Imp looked downcast as his tail swished back and forth. After getting back to Hell and recovering from their encounter with Moxxie's dad, Blitzo told everyone that they're having the week off on account of Mordekaiser/Rogier taking the grimoire and that was it. He then told Moxxie and Millie he was still keeping them around and to not worry about getting fired. He then took Loona home before Moxxie could apologize to Blitzo about his dad.
"Not really." Said Moxxie as he looked at his wife, all full of concern for him. "It's my dad. I know that he's not a nice person to people he doesn't like, but to actually see him treat Blitzo like that right in front of me and then treat him before about Verosika without telling me. It's all…"
"I know. I know." Said Millie as she comforted her husband, patting his back. He told her of what his dad did to Blitzo during the whole Verosika issue and giving them payment for the Lyle and Loopty job. "We never really saw him get that mad before on people we actually know and like. I'll admit it was a thrill watching him beat down that stupid Radio Demon to a pulp and killing all those stupid humans that captured you, but seeing him scare Loona and Blitzo. Well…that certainly was something that changed my opinion of him a bit. Guess perceptions really change when you care about is threatened, right?"
"Yeah. It really does." Said Moxxie as he thought back to Blitzo's words and what his dad did. On one hand, he was grateful to his dad about him saving him and Blitzo from those humans but on the other hand, he felt that he was being too harsh on his boss for his failures. Especially his punishments on him. Then again, he really should come to expect such things from his father. The man did not tolerate transgressions to those he cares about and deals with threats quite…severely.
Speaking of Blitzo, Moxxie wondered if he should finally tell Blitzo the truth about his dad. The full truth of his dad. How he was really Mordekaiser, the one that attacked all the rings of Hell and inflicted a food shortage everywhere, how he intended on usurping Lucifer and the Sins to be the sole ruler of Hell, and how he came from another world entirely with humans in it along with many other creatures and monsters within it. He felt like Blitzo and Loona deserved to know the truth about him and his dad after what he learned today, but not right now. Not after the revelations that Blitzo told him. Not about his dad, no, although that did shake him up a bit regarding his father, but rather the revelation that Blitzo did all his stalking against Millie and Moxxie because he was not only lonely but also longing for the stable and actual loving relationship that Moxxie had with his wife. It left him confused and a bit speechless about Blitzo.
On one hand, he was sick and tired of Blitzo constantly stalking him whenever he was having romantic moments with Millie, recording them kissing and watching them as they sleep etc., not to mention constantly insulting him every chance he got, but on the other hand, he couldn't help but pity his boss. He clearly wanted what Moxxie had to the point that he was willing to put up being used by Moxxie technically to have it around him. He clearly wanted a loving relationship, yet he wasn't doing anything to actually achieve it. This is something that Moxxie felt he needed to talk to Blitzo about first before his father. For how could he trust his boss with such a big revelation when he does all this unhealthy behavior with him and his wife not to mention insult him on a daily basis. He reasoned that, if Blitzo could stop with his stalking/borderline obsession with his relationship with his wife as well as his insults towards Moxxie if he requested it, which meant he respected Moxxie and his wishes, then he could trust him with the revelation about his dad. That and if he just up and told Blitzo about the truth of his dad while having these issues with him, Moxxie feared both Blitzo and Loona will end up dead at the hands of his father because of an outburst from Blitzo. Or worse.
"Honey, I think we need to talk with Blitzo." Said Moxxie, getting Millie's attention. "About both his behavior about us and the truth about my dad."
"You sure about that, honey?" Asked Millie with a frown. She knew that Moxxie both disliked Blitzo's constant insults towards him as well as his stalker like behavior, so she imagined that was something that was bound to happen. She also knew that Moxxie hadn't been sure of telling Blitzo the truth about his dad because of Blitzo's…tendency to reveal stuff that he really shouldn't, hence why Moxxie felt he couldn't tell Blitzo about his father yet.
"Yeah, I think after what he told me today, I think it's time we talk about his stalking nature around us." Said Moxxie as he looked at his wife. "As for my dad, let's wait until after our anniversary. After we had our talk with him regarding his behavior around us after work." Millie blinked at that before gasping out loud.
"Oh shit, right." Said Millie as she looked at the calendar in their living room, which had the day of their wedding anniversary marked with a big red circle around it. "Our wedding anniversary is in only a couple of weeks from now. Just a few days before Extermination Day! Shit! I can't wait when that comes! You won't believe what I have planned for you Moxxie! You're going to love it!" Moxie just weakly chuckled at his wife.
"I think you'll love what I have in store for you too, Millie." Said Moxxie, keeping what he planned for her a secret. She'll absolutely love it. "But lets talk about what I heard about Blitzo today and why we need with him." He then told Millie about what Blitzo told him during their capture with the humans. Everything.
Meanwhile
Mitna Rachnun
"How was the weapon, milord?" Asked Keira as Mordekaiser returned to Mitna Rachnun with Stolas' Grimoire. His Rogier persona discarded for his normal appearance.
"It performed admirably. Tell the individuals that were responsible for its creation that they did a fine job and that I expect greater things from them in the future." Said Mordekaiser as he handed Keira Stolas' Grimoire. "Have our sorcerers study this Grimoire, take everything of worth from its pages and see if they can be used by our sorcerers and warlocks."
"Of course, milord." Said Keira as she took the Grimoire. Upon looking at it, she was a little surprised to see that it was the Grimoire that Mordekaiser had his adopted son keep an eye on and occasional send them some knowledge from within. "Milord, isn't this the Grimoire that you had your son monitor? May I ask why you have it in your possession?"
"The fool that my son works for has once again failed in his duty to be an effective leader." Said Mordekaiser as he looked at Keira. "Moxxie, though I have no idea why he would defend that fool, wanted me to avoid punishing him physically or at all. I could not, however, let his incompetence go unpunished. So, I elected to take the Grimoire as punishment instead. Why Moxxie wanted to protect him is beyond me. The fool is beyond incompetent, useless, and far too prideful and arrogant to be of any use to me beyond what Stolas' Grimoire can provide. And yet he protect him from my wrath." Seeing her lord was a bit agitated, Keira offered a suggestion to him.
"Perhaps there is something about him that we cannot see, milord." Suggested Keira, causing Mordekaiser to scoff. Something in that Imp that he can't see? Ridiculous. "Regardless of that, milord, I'll have this sent to your cabals of sorcerers. No doubt they'll quite be pleased with the opportunity to study this Grimoire themselves. The spells we acquired from your son have peaked their interest." Mordekaiser hummed at that, pleased.
"Is there anything else?" Asked Mordekaiser towards Keira. He had other matters to attend to. Specifically around Morgana and how she was faring after he left her to save Moxxie.
"Yes, the yearly report of all your projects situated in Hell, Earth, and in the Grey Realm is soon approaching." Said Keira as she looked upon her lord with her usual stony stare. "Reports are promising, especially on our front companies. The Niskaru are being produced at an increased rate under Voraq's direction and new creatures are being constructed and our shelters in Hell are seeing an increase of membership after our attack on Hell. And the new information provided by our…benefactor is being used to find those that Leblanc imprisoned and sent to this realm. I believe they're close to finding one right now, milord. I'll let you know when they do."
"Excellent." Said Mordekaiser as he heard this news. "Inform me as soon as possible. For now, let us find a cabal of sorcerers to study this Grimoire first. After that, I'm venturing back to Runeterra. I would like to see this Morgana again after our encounter with the Demacian Mageseekers. Finally, before I leave Keira, uncover information related to the organization that took Moxxie. Find out who they are and eliminate them. All of them and take whatever of use from them. Them capturing my son cannot be left unpunished and they may have something of worth within their ranks or organization."
"As you say, milord." Said Keira before the two ventured off to find a cabal of sorcerers to find so they can study the Grimoire and its contents.
Later
Runeterra
Morgana
The Winged woman that was Morgana said nothing as a familiar black and green portal opened up before and out came Mordekaiser. She had just returned to her cave, having tended to the Mages she saved from the Mageseekers and making sure that the Mageseekers will be found by a Demacian patrol later on and not be eaten by the denizens of the Silent Forest, when the portal appeared before her.
"You did not expect me to return so quickly, did you?" Asked Mordekaiser as he appeared before Morgana, who simply sighed and crossed her arms under her chest.
"I didn't." Said Morgana with exasperation but with a hint of a smile on her face. "I presume you saved your son?" When Mordekaiser nodded, she spoke again. "Shall we resume where we left off?" Mordekaiser simply looked at her when she said that.
"I take it you pondered on what I said, yes? As well as found the state of the Mageseekers that pursued me, correct?" Asked Mordekaiser, causing Morgana to frown as she recalled his words and the state of the Mageseekers that pursued him.
"Yes." Said Morgana, her anger at him slightly showing in her words. "Let us talk about your words and…your brutality."
