The Stranger was waking up in a brothel on LV-410; sometimes called Jackson Planet. Special Agent Jack Kilroy managed to get up, look around and get his bearings. He had just time traveled; Jack could tell. Whenever that happened he woke up in an unfamiliar place.
A lady of the evening appeared in the door behind an armed security guard looking at him, "Okay john you're under arrest unless you can pay the fine and get out of here," said the Weiland-Yutani security thug. The security guard was obviously shaking Jack down.
"Stand down, officer," replied Jack. "I'm a federal agent." This got the security guard's attention. Jack produced a badge. The guard also noticed Jack's service revolvers on the nightstand. They looked like they were very high quality had seen a lot of use.
"My apologies," said the security guard who made his way to not being there; so that he could be somewhere else.
"Hey john you're in my room," said the lady.
"I'll be just a minute." Jack handed her a gold coin, "For your trouble."
She looked at the 1 oz American Gold Eagle, "Take your time sweetheart, let me know if you'd like a little extra," she said. Jack had no desire to get involved, or entangled with her. He had work to do.
Jack opened his leather bound journal. On the calendar under "current" was a warrant for the arrest of one Wilma Park on suspicion of human trafficking with intent to murder. There was some pretty damning evidence included in the entry including money that was transferred to her account under suspicious circumstances.
Wilma Park's list of suspected victims was a long list; but the most current one was Rain Carradine. Wilma had just been paid $20,000 in adjusted dollars for denying her travel permit and reassigning Rain to the mines, where she could easily be abducted by Weyland-Yutani.

Jack dressed with his under armor shirt and skivvies. Then he placed the combat pants on; along with his force field to his belt. It wouldn't stop rifle rounds, but it would keep the vacuum of space out. As a special agent; Jack had the option of dressing in a suit, or in high threat uniform. He almost always chose uniform. Then Jack put on his light weight gravity boots and level III rated flexible armor.
On his outer belt he had an IFAK (individual first aid kit), a phone (level 17X), a flashlight, a badge. And basic utility packs. There was a patch on his chest rig that said:
SPECIAL AGENT
SECRET SERVICE
POLICE
On his left hip and under his right shoulder he carried a pair of Smith and Wesson 610 revolvers. They were both rechambered in 10mm magnum.
He had eight moon clips on his belt for reloads; and another eight moon clips on his chest rig.
He dressed, placed his twin revolvers on; over his flexible level 3 body armor. He pulled up his pocket watch, universal lock pick, basic utility belt, long leather coat.
Jack then went to the brothel's main lobby. He got a quick breakfast along with coffee and then made his way through the crowded colony area to the département of colony affairs office.
There was a middle aged woman there. It was Wilma Park; the woman Jack had a warrant for. He came to the front of the line. "Sir," she objected. "Sir!" she said louder.
Jack had his left hand resting on his gun; but didn't draw it. He expected to have a weapon drawn on him from this 'helpful' looking lady. His badge, along with body armor, ID patch and big [REDACTED] Revolvers were on full display. "Wilma Park, I presume," said Jack Kilroy. It was not a question.
"Yes," she replied.
"I have a warrant for your arrest on suspicion of human trafficking with intent to commit murder," stated Jack.
Wilma ignored him and started to reach under her desk, for the panic button. Armed guards would be here in less than eight minutes; she knew. Jack was not fooled for a second. He pulled a Smith and Wesson N frame revolver from a shoulder holster with full intent to stop Wilma from pushing the button. She stopped and put her hands in the air.
Immediately, Special Agent Jack Kilroy took his finger off of the trigger; while still pointing the weapon at her. The revolver was in double action. He used his right thumb to cock the hammer to single action. Jack Kilroy was left handed. "Ladies and Gentlemen this office is closed for the next hour please leave and return; or wait outside," commanded Jack Kilroy. Everyone left quickly and quietly.
"Keep your hands up," Jack Kilroy instructed Wilma. She did so. Jack quickly reached into his pocket and pulled out a small mechanical device. It was called a clockwork master key. Essentially a very sophisticated lockpick. While keeping the revolver pointed at Wilma he picked open the door. Wilma didn't dare breathe; much less move. Jack closed the gate to the office. He then touched the panic button underneath the console. It short circuited immediately when the skin from his fingertip touched it. Jack did not flinch at the spark.
"Push the panic button," Jack commanded Wilma. She refused. "Do it," insisted Jack. She did so. Nothing happened. "The alarm has been disabled; no one is coming," stated Jack.
Jack seemingly pulled a chair out of thin air and commanded Wilma to sit in it. There were restraints on the chair's arms. She sat down and the restraints automatically engaged. The chair was surprisingly comfortable.
"Wilma Park, you are under arrest; you have the right to remain silent. If you give up the right to remain silent, anything you say can be used against you. You have the right to an attorney. If you do not have one you may request to be appointed one by the state. Your medical record states that your hearing is within normal parameters and that you are fluent in English. I will not therefore ask if you understand these rights; as any reasonable person will assume that you do."
Wilma now looked very worried. Enough time had passed since she pushed the panic button for the armed Weyland-Yutani thugs to show up and they weren't here.
"Mrs. Park, I'm going to offer you a plea bargain. If you cooperate you will be released from your contract with Weyland Yutani and be free to leave," said Jack.
Wilma did not respond. But this did get her attention.
"I understand that you have participated in the kidnapping and murder of several residents of this colony," stated Special Agent Jack Kilroy.
This really got the attention of Wilma Park. Especially the murder part. "I'd never kill anyone," she stated.
"I don't care," stated Jack flatly. He continued to talk, "You have been denying travel permits and reassigning individuals to the mines; which is a felony. Weyland Yutani paid you $5,000 a person plus an extra $15,000 if the person is a female of child bearing age." Jack looked at Wilma to gauge her expression. She was scared.
"Would you like me to read you the names of the people who you have so marked?" asked Jack. Wilma remained silent. "You have handed over 57 people to the Weyland Yutani and have been paid $840,000 in adjusted dollars for this service." Jack showed her the receipts.
"Okay Wilma, I'm going to offer you a plea bargain." Jack showed her a document: "I guarantee you that if you are tried for those crimes; prosecution will charge you with a capital offense; and if convicted will ask for the death penalty. Weiland Yutani corporation will want you out of the way; and they will make certain that you are not around long enough to stand trial. I think you know that," said Jack Kilroy.
Wilma park now looked very concerned.
"Ok Wilma here's what I want. You're gonna transfer all of the money that you've been paid for this to a numbered account. I'm going to give you 16 ounces of gold coins. That's a small fraction of what you been paid; but you can use them to bribe your way to anywhere in the galaxy, and not be traced. If you ever come up on the grid again Wayland Yutani will find you and place you in the ground."
"You work for the company don't you Mr. Kilroy?" said Wilma.
"If I did then you'd be dead before you saw me coming," Jack said Truthfully.
"We both know that the company operates above the law. That's why I'm giving you this plea bargain. Honestly, I want to catch bigger criminals," stated Jack. He decided to change the subject. "Do you know what a 'papers man' is?" Asked Jack Kilroy.
"Yes," said Wilma.
"I strongly suggest that you find a papers man and pay him an ounce of gold for a new identity," Jack said.
"I'm not giving you my money," replied Wilma defiantly.
"If you keep it Wayland Yutani is going to assume that you ratted then out to me and they're going to hunt you down and kill you. If the money disappears; and then you disappear they're going to assume that you've been robbed and they're never going to find the body."
They had a deal
Jack accessed her password and downloaded all of the evidence and data to a hard drive of her crimes that he didn't already have. There was enough to get death row convictions on a great many Weiland Yutani 'people'.
Jack spoke again to Wilma, "The chair that you're sitting in has a timer on it and the restraints will disengage in approximately five minutes. I recommend you don't stick around much after that;" said Jack.
"I earned that money;" Objected Wilma.
"You deserve the death penalty," Reply Jack.
"Is that why you're stealing the money?" Asked Wilma.
"I don't need the money," stated Jack truthfully. "I'm a time traveler. Look at the dates on those gold coins if you don't believe me." Wilma gazed into Jack Kilroy's eyes; and realized he might be telling the truth. She was looking at Jack's badge number; trying to memorize it. Jack had seen people do this before, "You can call in the badge number if you like," he stated. He then handed her his card.
Jack left and a few minutes later the chair's restraints did indeed disengage. Wilma took the gold coins and bribed her way onto the first transport to Yvaga.
