Happy New Year's guys! So since I've fallen in love with "Tale of the Nine Tailed" I decided to make a new story. Note this will start out as a love triangle for awhile but Erin ultimately does end up with our favorite grumpy CEO. I'm also referring to the spirit of the millennium ring as Bakura, I call Ryou by his first name. Erin has bronze colored hair and navy blue eyes. To picture Zane he looks exactly like Kiyoka Kudom from "My Happy Marriage". Only his eyes are the same as Erin's. Kiyoka Kudo and his design belong to his creator. All Yugioh characters rightfully belong to Kazuki Takahashi. I only own my OC's. Also while Erin is half nine-tailed fox her abilities do tire her out since she is also half human. And she's also vulnerable to human scenarios. I also can't remember if I already have an OC named Zane lmao! Dreams are in italics.
Erin's POV
It was still surreal that I was in Domino City. Due to my mother being a well-known Linguistic expert she was offered a job at Domino University as a professor so my entire family moved to Japan. The city was beautiful and I planned on finishing my senior year of high school here before attending Domino University afterward.
My dream was to be a graphic designer or illustrator. I loved bringing things to life on both paper and screen. And I was going to make that dream a reality. You could say my family were all nerds lol. Dad landed a job as a middle school history teacher and my brother Zane was about to start his first semester at Domino University. He wanted a career as a video game programmer.
In fact, I had just finished getting a tour of the university campus and I hoped the next year passed by quickly. I wouldn't be starting school until next week so I took that time to my advantage to explore my new home. Currently, I was finishing up a Frappuccino and heading home when the smell of smoke got my attention.
I felt the fire was close by and I would have left it alone had I not sensed a human was trapped in the blaze. Alarmed I dropped my Frappe and ran like hell in the direction of the fire. A warehouse was in flames and from inside the human was in trouble. I located a door and using my fox speed I charged at the door and gave it a hard kick.
The wooden structure fell easily and I entered the fiery building.
"Hello! Is anyone in here?!" I yelled.
"Over here" a human male called out weakly.
My fox sight was crap due to the smoke and flames so I relied on my hearing to find the human. Eventually, I found him and I almost had a heart attack. It was Yugi Muto!
The King of Games himself!
"Help me please" the best duelist in the world begged.
"I gotcha Yugi" I reassured him. I scooped him into my arms and he was on the verge of losing consciousness.
"My puzzle" he added weakly. I followed his gaze to where a triangular golden pendant hung on a chain from a hook. I didn't have much time until the smoke started affecting me. While using one arm to hang onto Yugi, I used my free one and summoned an orb of fire. Fox fire was hotter than usual fire and it was blue.
I sent the flame straight at the hook and the damn thing melted. Again using my fox speed I grabbed the golden pendant and placed it into Yugi's hands. It was time to go and I coughed. I swore under my breath as the smoke was becoming even thicker so visibility sucked. I relied on my fox instincts on where to go and they led me out the door and into fresh air. As I took a few breaths without smoke I saw two guys running in my direction.
"Yugi!" they exclaimed seeing the unconscious teen in my arms.
"He needs an ambulance" I notified the two of them. I recognized Joey Wheeler but didn't know who his friend was.
"Our friend already called 9/11 miss, crap you don't look so hot" Joey stated. It was then I lost consciousness and the guy with the spiky brown hair caught me.
Several Days Later.
Domino Hospital
Still Erin's POV
"What you did was reckless sis" Zane reminded me for the tenth time.
"Your sister saved a human son" Mom added. Yeah, I'm not exactly fully human. Mom was a nine-tailed fox. Dad was her fated mate and he was human. This made me and Zane half nine-tailed fox and the other half human.
Nine-Tailed Foxes lived a long time even those who had human blood in their veins. Fire manipulation was one of my abilities but it was fox fire that I wielded not regular fire. I was admitted to the hospital because I had been in the fire and had some smoke inhalation. I felt much better now but I was ready to get the hell out of here. The doctor said I was clear to go home so I was in a good mood.
A knock on the door got our attention and there stood Yugi along with his friends and an older gentleman. The King of Games was holding some flowers.
"Holy crap! You didn't mention you saved the King of Games!" Zane exclaimed.
"Chill out bro"
"Is now a bad time?" Yugi wondered.
"No your welcome to come inside Mr. Muto" Dad reassured Yugi.
"That title would belong to me" the older gentleman chuckled.
Dad chuckled before he introduced us to Yugi and his entourage. The guy with the spiky brown hair was named Tristan and the girl with them was Tea. The older human was Yugi's grandfather.
"I'm glad to see your feeling better Erin" Yugi said while giving me the flowers. "Thank you for saving my life"
"You're welcome and it's an honor to meet you"
I then shot Zane a glance before facing Yugi again.
"When we're not busy we like to duel for fun, but haven't had much time since we just moved here from America"
"Holy shit! Y'all are a long way from home!"
"Joey you don't need to curse" Tea growled looking embarrassed.
"We do it a lot actually" Zane confessed. Mom and Dad shot him a glare while I rolled my eyes. Tristan was holding back a laugh and so was Mr. Muto. I then looked at Joey.
"Its also a pleasure to meet you as well Joey, I heard your using the money from the Duelist Kingdom tournament for your sister's treatment"
"Aw thanks, your sweet"
Zane growled and I glared at him. My brother and I were close and thick as thieves but he was a pain in the ass whenever he got into overprotective mode.
It was an interesting way to start my new life in Domino but I wouldn't change it. Not only did I save Yugi but that day before leaving the hospital I gained new friends.
Seto Kaiba's POV
"Okay, where the hell am I?"
I was in some forest alongside a lake. The area itself was pretty but I'd rather be dreaming about something else right now. Some silver caught my eye and close to the large cherry blossom tree was some sort of dog. Nope scratch that it was a fox and it had nine tails.
Its golden eyes looked at me and I couldn't look away. I wasn't sure if this fox was a threat so I remained still. The fox then stood up and approached. Again I didn't move and waited to see what the canine would do next. It stopped directly in front of me and placed its snout on my hand.
"What the?"
I woke up with a start and saw I was awake. I glanced at the clock and it read one in the morning. Maybe I should leave work earlier. I've been busy preparing for my tournament and worked late nights even some all-nighter's. Mokuba lectured me that I needed a good night's sleep and I smiled at that. A twelve-year-old acting like a parent. I lay back down and let sleep return to me. I didn't dream about nine-tailed foxes anymore thank god.
Bakura's POV
So she was here in Domino. My beloved had been reborn. For centuries I waited for the woman I loved to be reincarnated. That foolish priest had been Mareena's interest for a possible mate. But her heart was shattered when she discovered it was the woman with the white hair and blue eyes who had stolen the priest's heart.
The nine-tailed fox had fled the palace seeking comfort from me. At the time my Mareena didn't return my feelings but I waited. In time she forgot about the priest and let me into her heart. We were happy and about to start a life together when the damned priest found us. He had demanded for Mareena's return but I refused. How dare he try and take what was mine. He had a chance to love her and failed.
The priest then had summoned one of his monsters and Mareena had placed herself between me and the blow that was meant to kill me. I still remember her blood spraying the desert hand and how I screamed. The priest had fallen to his knees in shock while I begged for my love to hold on. She smiled that she promised she would find me in the next life before kissing me. She then died in my arms and as I wept I vowed vengeance upon the priest. Seto Kaiba would not have her ever in the past or the present.
