Chapter 291 Candy Strangers

At Castle Lemongrab, the members of King's science division were working on an a odd project for their master. A short knight wearing grey armor, a welding mask, brown gloves, and brown apron was tightening a bolt on a large pipe connected to a sprinkler system to a medium size room with a door and a window. The knight's name was Tinker Knight and he was a member of the Order of No Quarter as well as a member of the science division. After finishing up tightening the bolt, Tinker Knight went to another room that had Plague Knight, White Monkey, and General Monkey in it. The other members of the science division. Tinker Knight informed the others that the pipes for the sprinkler system was ready for the test. The others nodded in approval and had the guards place three candy people in the room with the sprinkler system. There was a cookie, a piñata, and a punch bowl with punch in it. Some time ago King had approached the science division with the three candy people and told them to run test on them. The science division had run tests on the subjects and noticed a strange chemical compound in the subjects' bodies that affected them both physically and mentally. It seemed that the current forms and minds of the subjects weren't their original ones and the chemical changed them into what they were now. The science division became curious so they went to work creating an antidote for the three candy people. They now had one and were ready to test it. A container of purple juice was connected to the pipe and went through the sprinkler system in the other room dousing the three candy people.
"Let's see what you really look like." Said General Monkey.
There was a flash of light and the three candy people began to grow and take on new shapes. The punch bowl changed into a male humanoid gum person with a piece of pink hair on the top of his head, a mustache, and a beard on the bottom of his face. He wore a tan tunic and purple cape. The piñata changed into a somewhat elderly humanoid gum woman. She was short and slightly overweight. The woman pink had a beehive hairdo and wore a tan tunic and brown headband. The cookie turned into a tall male humanoid gum person who appeared to be in his late teens or early twenties and he stood 7'7. The man had a pink pompadour-like haircut and wore a tan tunic and and white ascot. The three figures stood on shaky legs and looked around dazed.
"Simply incredible." Muttered Plague Knight.
Slowly the three gum people began to recover and come to their senses. The tall gum man looked at the gum man with the cape and a flash of anger crossed his eyes. The gum man with the cape saw this and a nervous look appeared on his face as he began to back away.
"Now Chicle...lets take a deep breath son. I know I may have done some morally questionable things to you and your mom, but that was in the past. I'm sure we can make amends and one day will look back at that little incident and laugh." Said the gum person with a cape.
"Yeah no I'm not going to calm down or laugh dad. You robbed of us of eight hundred years of life and made us prisoners in our own minds! The only thing you care about is yourself and your crazy idea to rule. Your in your own little world. The Amazing World of Gumbald and me and mom are just throw away pieces in it!" Snarled Chicle.
"Lolly dear please talk sense to our son and tell him the truth." Pleaded Gumbald as he looked at the female gum person.
"I...honestly don't know what's true or what to believe after what you did Gumbald." Said Lolly looking both sad, angry, and confused.
"I'll tell you one thing that is true mom. Dad is going to pay for what he did to us!" Declared Chicle as he tackled Gumbald to the ground and began to throttle him.
A bunch of monkey guards quickly stormed into the room and separated Gumbald and Chicle. The guards then threw bags over the gum people's heads and dragged them off to three different cells. The science division quickly informed King on what happened and he came down to see the gum people himself. King became interested in Gumbald and had him taken to an integration room near the lab. Gumbald sat in a chair behind a desk, while King sat behind a one way glass window looking into the room. A couple of speakers were set up in the room allowing King to speak to Gumbald.
"Tell me who you are?" Said King.
Gumbald saw no harm or point in lying to who he was, so he began to speak.
"My name is Gumbald. I am the uncle to Queen Bonnibe Bubblegum and the rightful ruler of the Candy Kingdom."
Gumbald then began to tell the tale of how he was the founder of the Candy Kingdom, how be betrayed his wife and son, and how he was beaten by Peppermint Butler and fell victim to his own creation turning him into a goofy punch bowl. As he talked Gumbald took stalk of his surroundings with all his senses and he began to figure out where he was.
"That's quit an impressive tale you got." Said King as Gumbald finished his story.
"Thank you. Now prepare to be amazed by my skills of deduction as I tell you were I'm at and who my host is." Said Gumbald.
"Go right ahead." Said King interested in what Gumbald had to say.
"Well I've noticed a few yellow walls, ceilings, and floors around here. I've also taken notice of a faint lemon scent in the air mixed in with cleaning products and other chemicals. This information has lead me to believe that I'm in Castle Lemongrab and you are King. I know you must be surprised by my knowledge, but despite my time as a goofy punch bowl I was aware of what was going on in the world around me. I know about most of the things going on in Ooo. Though there are a few blanks in my memory." Said Gumbald.
King was both surprised and amazed by Gumbald's deduction skills. He began clapping as he entered the room and faced Gumbald. The two men stared at one another for a few seconds, before King spoke.
"I'm impressed. You really are a smart guy Gumbald and I bet you would have been a top notch leader for the Candy Kingdom. It's a shame that your not the one leading it, but I think I can help you get it back." Said King.
"How so?" Asked Gumbald.
"By joining forces with me. With my forces and allies and that big brain of yours we can beat Bubblegum and take over all of Ooo together." Said King.
"Well I do need access to a bunch of materials and I want the Candy Kingdom, if I joined up with you I can obtain both in a short matter of time. I agree to join forces with you." Said Gumbald.
"Excellent." Said King as they both shook hands.
Gumbald asked for his wife and son to be brought in so he could speak to them. King left the room as Lolly and Chicle were brought in wearing bags on their heads by some guards. The bags were removed and Lolly and Chicle looked at Gumbald who smiled at them.
"Hello family I have some marvelous news for and despite you negative behavior and rash little actions I forgive you. Now on to the news. I've just agreed to join forces with some powerful people who don't like Bubblegum. With their help and my brilliant mind we can destroy Bubblegum and take control of the Candy Kingdom and turn into the greatest kingdom that ever existed. We can live the good life together surrounded by riches and wealth. Now will you put aside our past and join me?" Said Gumbald.
"Sorry dear, but no. All this hate and conflict will just lead to pain and heartache." Said Lolly.
"Same goes for me to. I loyal followed you once dad and we saw how that ended last time." Said Chicle with a glare..
"Fine! Be that way! I don't need either of you two!" Snarled Gumbald.
The bags were placed on Lolly and Chicle's heads and they were lead away from the labs. The guards took the two gum people to a van and tossed them into the back. The van drove away from Castle Lemongrab and after an hour of driving it stopped and Lolly and Chicle had their bags removed before they were tossed out into what appeared to be some kind of forest along with some small backpacks. Lolly and Chicle watched as the guards got back into the van and drove off. They looked at their surroundings, before they opened their backpacks and looked inside. Inside the bags were some canteens, protein bars, some flashlights, a compass, and a map of Ooo. Lolly and Chicle studied the map to figure out where they were and where they should go. After figuring out where they were they discussed where they should go.
"Should we go back to the Candy Kingdom?" Asked Lolly.
"No way. I don't want to deal with Bubblegum and I don't want to get caught in the middle of a blood feud between her and dad." Said Chicle.
"So where to then?" Asked Lolly.
"Let's go to the Ice Kingdom. I heard its supposed to be nice and the rulers house people who don't have homes or anyplace to go." Said Chicle.
With a destination in mind the two set out for the Ice Kingdom.
