Ladybug was quite used to her partner gazing at her silently at any time whenever he could. Be it curiously (wondering what was going on through her head during an Akuma battle), be it lovingly(especially when he's praising her for her quick thinking or when she's talking about something mundane from her civilian life) or even with concern (cradling her wounds during brutal fights or pressing her face into his chest so that she could cry away all the pain and stress she dealt with). It still never failed to light up the skin under her suit in a soothing yet increasingly warmer flame, her mind always internally hoping that her face wouldn't catch fire from the intensity of her Chaton's eyes.
However, this time it was different.
This time, he was completely unreadable, standing only a few centimetres away from her with his big green eyes peering down at her face and his kissable lips devoid of any emotions. Just as mysterious as his namesake.
"Mon Minou? Is something wrong?" Her question was soft and breathy, her heart very much affected by the close proximity and the delicious way her partner towered over her frame. He didn't budge, didn't even utter a single word and before she knew it...
Bump.
He bonked his head on hers.
"Great patrol as always, My Lady~ I'll see you soon!" With a quick kiss to her frozen and baffled cheek, even sneaking another peck on her forehead, the feline hero vaulted away with his baton, leaving behind his flabbergasted partner who couldn't choose between melting into goo on the spot or screaming from the top of her lungs in confusion.
'Why did he headbutt me!?'
