A/N: This old thing is based on the game they played in the anime: Komi Can't Communicate. But if you're not familiar with it, that's okay cos there's an explanation in the story hahaha!
Without further ado, enjoy~
"Even now, blue resides
Even now, blue remains clear
No matter the prayers or words
Though they draw near, they never reach
It's like a quiet love"
青のすみか (Where Our Blue Is) - キタニタツヤ (Tatsuya Kitani)
Pairing - Adrinette
Prompt - 'I Love You Game'

"The rules of this game? Oh my, you really know very, very little about the peasant world, don't you?" Alya teased good-naturedly, poking Adrien's cheek with a silly grin whilst he simply pouted at both the gesture and her words. It wasn't his fault that he used to be homeschooled and that his image of public school was built up by cheesy American films and shōjo mangas with their unrealistic depictions!
He also wanted to point out that at least he wasn't severely out of touch with reality like Chloé who has been in public school for years. However, gossip runs faster than the speed of light at collège Françoise Dupont and you never know who's eavesdropping your conversation so he kept his mouth shut. The last time he accidentally evoked the rich blonde girl's wrath, she threw a (downright ridiculous) tantrum and got her father involved which in turn dragged his père into the fray and boy, oh, boy…he was not pleased.
Adrien almost shuddered visibly from that memory.
Thankfully both Nino and Marinette had his back, rolling their eyes affectionately at Alya and then his bestest friend of the trio finally helped him out before Adrien got further lost in thoughts.
"Mec, listen. These are the rules of the 'I love you' game. The person saying it to the other person has to keep a straight face. The person who is being spoken to has to make sure that they don't smile or blush after hearing it. The loser is the one who breaks these rules. Got it?"
Adrien should've known better than to nod with an innocent smile, thinking that this was going to be a piece of cake. A walk in the park. Smooth like butter on toast. After all…the poor, gullible kitten has fallen right into the trap of one Alya Césaire.
"Brilliant. Now, Marinette. Go say 'I love you' to him." She immediately pushed the surprised designer right in front of him, making her crash into his chest with a muffled yelp. Of course, since he was a gentleman and it was in his inner rulebook that Marinette had to be treated with patience and care at all times, Adrien automatically kept a firm grip on her upper arms, his automatic need to know if she was okay ready to leave his tongue.
Looking down at her face and meeting her big, blue eyes was a mistake because all of a sudden, his heartbeat (which was always usually a little higher than usual around Marinette) virtually skyrocketed.
And as if that wasn't enough, her flustered expression and adorable red cheeks were replaced with unadulterated determination and her eyes shimmered with pure might and revolve.
.
"Adrien..." She tilted her head ever so slightly, still tense in his hold and her rosy, kissable lips wobbly. "I…"
"I love you."

Both Alya and Nino instantly yelled that Adrien was the loser thanks to the way his golden skin turned beet red in an instant and the way his lips automatically turned into a lovesick grin.
Damn…
Dammit!
.
He genuinely forgot that it was just a game!
