Well read below to find out!

Chapter Twelve

The Hunt

Three days went by and Tyroth had everyone searching Chicago High and Low.

Himself, the turtles, Monalisa, the Chicago Knights, Cam, Barry, even Rattletrap, they spent hours scouring the city from dusk till dawn.

Hacker even busied himself hacking into security camera systems to see if he could find clues or movements of the Hybrid.

For hours the spider watched his screens in his private quarters sipping energy drinks to keep alert.

Tyroth, the Geckolings, Heather, and Devina used their ability to fly to search, and Chloe the Butterfly, Bill the Duck and Vincent the Owl joined in the search from the sky.

Jack used his ability to smell to look for Pandora, yet he couldn't track her, Splinter also joined in having known Pandora's scent all his life and Leona the Fox offered to help when she was given Pandora's scent to track.

Sharky and Amber searched the rivers and towards Lake Michigan having the ability to swim as well as spend longer under the water.

When the third night ended, Tyroth had gathered everyone together for re-con and they gave the same answer.

No sign of the Hybrid.

"It's impossible!" Tyroth had exclaimed as he stood in the Mess Hall looking at everyone who had taken part in the search.

"Three Days and Three Nights! And not a trace of her?"

He looked over to Monalisa and Raphael who were holding each other in grief with Donatello and Sephie attempting to comfort them.

After Monalisa had regained her composure after her outburst, she along with the turtles and Splinter decided that sitting crying and sulking wasn't going to bring Pandora back to them, and they joined Tyroth and the others into finding their beloved daughter/niece/granddaughter.

Yet despite them helping, it was killing the dragon within that he had failed to find Pandora and return her to her worried parents.

"We've searched everywhere!" Jack claimed.

"Yeah! Yeah!" Rattletrap piped up and everyone chimed in the same.

"We searched the West side!" Sarah reported gesturing to Leona and Patch.

"We searched the East!" Percy said and Michelangelo and Kate nodded with him supporting his claim, yet Michelangelo had tears in his blood shot eyes.

Like his brothers and sister, he was worried sick for Pandora, and he hadn't been able to sleep properly.

"We scoured the North!" Heather reported.

"Up and down, we searched!" Cam and Barry cut in.

"Us too dad!" Freya piped up and Loki nodded with her.

"And we explored every nook and cranny in the South!" Bill the Duck said, "Me, Moe, Sonia and Chloe!"

On hearing their names, the Butterfly, Chameleon and Mole nodded.

Sonia was coloured blue both in sadness and disappointment at being unable to find her friend and honoured cousin.

"Your sister and I have searched the rivers over a hundred times!" Sharky said gesturing to Amber, "I can't tell you how we've finely combed them!"

Amber nodded, she still had wet hair from their last hunt and Jake was sitting with her in his wheelchair holding her hand in support.

He had been frustrated in not being able to help but his wound was still giving him pain and James and Dahlia still hadn't deemed him fit for action anytime soon.

"And what about the Navy Pier?" Tyroth demanded "The United Centre? Lakeshore Drive? Lincoln Park?"

"We searched them too!" Jack snarled "My nose is running due to all the sniffing I've had to do to find her scent!"

"Practically every corner!" Leona agreed.

"We left no stone unturned!" Heather agreed.

"And I've hacked into different security systems around the city to see if I can see any movement!" Hacker joined in waving his top arms "But even with all my eyes and fingers accessing the files, I've found nothing!"

Tyroth sighed and he closed his eyes then looked up, his eyes flashing at the frustration was getting to him.

"But she can't have just vanished!" the dragon stressed "Clearly you missed something! You're not looking hard enough!" he growled clenching his paws.

Everyone was stunned but they didn't expect a certain Viper to speak up.

"Don't tell us how to search Tyroth!" Kate snapped angrily standing up and making everyone jump.

"You think you're the only one who cares about Pandora!?" she pointed finger at the dragon in accusation.

"Kate!" Michelangelo cried in worry, and he looked at Tyroth who was looking angry.

Tyroth bared his teeth as he went redder in the face, but then as he scanned the crowd, he stood up straight and frowned.

"Where's Devina?" he asked.

"What?"

At once everyone looked around and they soon realised the Vampiress wasn't amongst them.

"Ummm, did anyone see her come with us?" Michelangelo asked.

"Who saw her last?" Sephie questioned.

"Beats me!" Percy shrugged.

"You don't suppose she's still outside?" Sarah asked.

"What? But it's daylight!" Hacker said looking at a digital watch on his left lower arm "ten thirty-five in the morning to be exact!"

"But her presence won't raise suspicions!" Donatello said, "She appears human like Jake and Hugh, she can blend in!"

"That's true!" the others agreed.

Tyroth frowned again and looked at his shell cell and he checked the screen to find Devina's position and he soon saw confirmation that she was in the city.

"She's still in Chicago." He said "And... wait a moment..." he paused to which everyone looked up.

"What is it love?" Sephie asked concerned.

"Tyroth?" Splinter asked, his ears pricking up.

"She's flying over Lake Michigan." Tyroth reported.

"She's what?" Monalisa asked looking up.

"Why?" Jake asked.

Outside as Tyroth confirmed, Devina was flying over Lake Michigan in her beast form, the day had fully started and despite the light, it was a rather grey day, and some dark clouds were filling the sky which the Vampiress hoped would work in her favour since she couldn't cope in direct sunlight or hot weather.

Devina hadn't gone with the others back to the sanctuary when Tyroth called everyone together.

She had decided to do another flight around the city and then over the lake, and she had scanned the landscape below and at the islands as well as the tiny ones.

As she was flying, she had a sudden urge to fly down and search nearer the water.

But she knew she had to be careful as she knew there would be boats around so she decided not to fool around and just check.

As Devina hovered close to the water, she saw one small island almost the size of a small car and she sniffed the air.

As she did her eyes widened and she flew over before landing and turning into her human form.

"No..." she thought to herself "My nose must be playing tricks."

She sniffed the air again then analysed the small island.

The smell of salt and seaweed lingered around her, as well as seagull droppings, but there was something else, faint but the Vampiress could smell it as clear as anything given her heightened senses.

Devina knelt and felt the rock as well as sniffed the air again, and her eyes widened again.

"No!" she thought "My nose doesn't lie!" she looked down and scratched at the surface then her fingers caught on something that was attached to one of the rocks.

She pulled hard and she pulled out what looked like dark strands of hair!

"Oh my Divines!?" she gasped looking at it.

She held it up and sniffed it and it was then she grabbed her cell phone to look for Tyroth's number.

Back in Mutopia, Tyroth almost jumped out of his skin as his phone rang and he saw Devina was calling him.

"Shit!" he put the phone to his ear.

"Devina?" he asked.

"Tyroth!" Devina cried "I think I found a clue!"

Tyroth's eyes widened as he felt hope rising in his stomach.

"A clue!?" he exclaimed "You mean you found something?"

Upon hearing that, everyone tensed up and Raphael and Monalisa stood up, their chairs falling backwards on the floor as they did so.

"Pandora?" Monalisa asked in hope and Raphael chewed his lip.

"Yes, I have!" Devina shouted down the phone "But I need you to see this as well!"

"What?" Tyroth asked.

"Just get up here to my location!" Devina demanded.

"Alright! Alright!" Tyroth said "I'm on my way!" he hung up the phone.

"We're coming too!" Monalisa insisted making the Dragon look over.

"So am I!" Michelangelo agreed.

"Ditto!" Donatello piped up and Raphael pointed at himself and then at Tyroth saying he would go to.

"I also will go!" Splinter added.

Tyroth frowned but he nodded as he knew the Hamato Clan showed this wasn't something to discuss.

"Alright." He said then looked at the Knights and the other Mutopian volunteers.

"Wait here!" he said then looked at the Geckolings "You two come with me! And you too Sharky!" he said to which the twins nodded and after kissing their mother and hugging Sonia they hurried out of the Mess Hall with their dad and the Hamato Clan, Sharky not far behind.

Sonia went yellow as she watched them.

"Do you think Devina might have found a clue to where Pandora might be?" she asked Old George.

George sighed and placed a hand on Sonia's shoulder.

"I don't know young one." He said, "But we can only hope it's a clue to locating her."

"In the middle of Lake Michigan?" Cam asked.

"But if she's..." Barry paused not wanting to bring up the unimaginable, yet Rattletrap spoke up.

"That she's drowned?" he asked to which everyone turned to him, and Sonia started crying.

"Shut up Rattletrap!" Kate hissed.

"Keep your trap shut!" Percy snapped grabbing the rat by his long snout and slamming him on the nearest table making everyone gasp in shock at the grasshopper's outburst which they would normally expect from Kate or Raphael.

"Percy!" Sephie snapped clapping her hands "Let him go!"

Percy frowned and let go of Rattletrap who held his snout and glowered at the grasshopper.

"Until there's evidence, Pandora is still merely missing in action! And until she's found, she will remain that way until then!"

She took a breath then looked at everyone.

"You're dismissed!" she said then yawned as it was late in the day for the mutants, yet given the current situation, she wasn't sure if anyone would get any sleep this day.

The other mutants left the room, then Amber took the handlebars of Jake's wheelchair and turned to Sephie.

"You coming?" she asked.

"In a moment." Sephie said "You two go ahead."

Amber nodded then wheeled Jake out of the mess hall saying they would go and check in with James and Dahlia about his wounds.

After everyone left, Sephie stood alone by the stage that Tyroth had been on earlier.

"I hope Devina's found a lead." She prayed to herself as she looked upwards "Any lead to give a path to where Pandora is... oh, by Odin...please...please don't let it be bad news!"

The Mutopians and the Hamato Clan have searched, but they haven't found Pandora, they're in despair, but what's this? Has Devina found evidence? A Clue? A Lead?

What will Tyroth, the Geckolings, the Hamato Clan and Sharky make of this revelation?

Again, you'll need to check in next time to find out!

Peace out!
