Hi guys, here is the new chapter of the fic, now from Ash's perspective, I hope you like it and leave your comments and suggestions.

Chapter 2: Opposites attract

Many times, I've encountered the unknown, I've traveled from end to end in the different lands I've crossed, but now it's different somehow. Since accepting the position of field researcher for Professor Cherise along with Goh things have been different. I have certainly enjoyed re-exploring the different regions I have visited and meeting old friends and acquaintances from the past.

But these months have made me change my perspective of my future, winning the pokemon world coronation Series would certainly help me to achieve my dream of pokemon master, but if I manage to achieve it and defeat the champion Lionel, what will I do next?

After 7 years of adventures, battles, victories, and defeats, I finally questioned myself a little bit about the decisions I make or what I am going to focus on. Maybe I should look for other goals or other interests. When I talk to my mother about this, she tells me it's part of growing up, thinking about things I didn't notice before or questioning my tastes or motivations.

Today I realize why many people used to berate me for being absent-minded or for not noticing certain things around me or about others. I remember the several times that Misty or Iris reproached me for being immature or selfish with certain things, I think now I understand a little about what they were referring to and more for what I noticed that day.

It was a quiet day, I decided to stay in the pokemon habitat to train with Lucario and Pikachu while Goh went out with his Cinderace to look for more pokemon to capture.

"Come on Pikachu don't stay behind" I said to my best buddy as he ran after me finishing one of the training circuits that were in the habitat, while Lucario completed it with his eyes closed, an exercise that Riley taught me years ago for the better aural control.

For many people doing endurance exercises with their pokemon is something overly complicated to do, but after years of exploring and practicing with different pokemon it gave me the physical condition to do it.

After running the circuit and finishing it in good time, I stopped to rest for a moment, "Well I think that's enough exercise for today" I exclaimed before grabbing a bottle of water and lying down on the grass to rest. It wasn't more than 5 minutes before an alarm sounded inside the habitat that it was time to feed the pokemon.

I could see how several of the pokemon in the area were heading in the same direction to eat their ration of the day, "You two go ahead, I'll take a break. After lunch we will practice with Dragonite and Gengar our fighting strategy."

They both nodded and went with the other pokemon to eat, I took a moment to look at them and remember my other pokemon living at Professor Oak's ranch, "I should go visit them, I should expand my equipment options for when I enter the Hyper class."

I lay on the floor looking at the habitat glass dome for a few minutes until something caught my attention, I heard someone was at the entrance of the lab, "It must be her" I said to myself. I didn't need to go see who it was to be sure, it was the professor's daughter, Chloe Cheirse.

After all she came here to do her homework every day, I have met many kinds of people during my journey, but I had not met a girl as stubborn as her, she did the same things every day and her attitude was quite different from his.

The day I met her I could sense a lot of disinterests on her part for pokemon, which didn't make sense to me considering she is the daughter of one of Professor Oak's star students in pokemon research, I remember some people were afraid or didn't like pokemon at first but soon found their passion through them. It wasn't the same case with her, she didn't show much interest in them when I met her, she only cared about doing her schoolwork and fulfilling her everyday routine. A very boring routine for my taste.

Even so he knew how much she loved her partner Yamper and now that she had her new and peculiar Eevee, but even so he felt that she was still closed with the pokemon and even more so with him. I remember asking Goh about the attitude of the professor's daughter, since they were friends since their childhood. In a nutshell he told me that she has always been a shy and stubborn girl, even he had a hard time gaining her trust.

Maybe I'm clueless about other people's feelings, but I can tell when someone doesn't like me, which can be a little annoying for me and even more so if I don't have a clear reason, maybe we're just different. I don't know why but lately I can't stop thinking about why Chloe doesn't like me.

So, when I saw her arrive and sit in the same place as always to do her homework, I couldn't pass up this opportunity to get closer to her, maybe she needs to get to know me more to change her opinion of me.

So, I left the room and went inside the lab, that is where I saw her, concentrating on her textbook without even looking at me, I think I could have gone to the kitchen and made lunch without her noticing.

So, I decided to move closer, until I was right behind her, I knew she would freak out if I came out of nowhere, but that was the point. "Hey what are you doing?"

She just let go of her pencil and try to stay calm, she answered me with her kind of cold and emotionless tone, I swear she could be a robot because of her lack of emotions sometimes.

I responded in kind by stating the obvious, "Don't you get tired of doing the same thing every day?

That's when she finally turned to look at me, the first thing I saw were her emerald eyes, I had to admit she had pretty eyes, a beautiful green color even brighter than Lillie's green eyes. I hadn't taken the opportunity to look at them that closely, besides her long maroon braid, always neatly arranged.

Most girls I know take a lot of trouble over their appearance, but I think she still takes it more seriously than they do.

"It's none of your business and why do you look like that" she told me sarcastically, I told her what I was doing during my morning and the reason for Goh's absence.

At that moment I noticed that she kept looking at me, I felt a bit uncomfortable and strange, "Why are you looking at me like that" I asked her.

Obviously, she denied everything as usual and gave an excuse about my smell or something, although I must say that I did need a shower after this, but I wasn't going to give her the pleasure of being right.

But I had to concentrate on my goal of getting to know her a little better, so I asked her what her homework was about. I have never been a guy of studies or high knowledge in science or mathematics, but I knew well the world and part of its history, plus everything related to pokemon.

So, when she mentioned about Sinnoh and its history I knew I had an advantage, that adventure in the region taught me a lot about its legendary pokemon and myths, especially because i almost saw the whole world destroyed by the battle of those pokemon.

When I told her about this it was no surprise that she didn't believe me, I know I don't have the appearance of a scholar like the professors, but I have experienced things that many don't, So I had to give her a confirmation.

"Very well, then tell me the 3 most important deities of this region" She asked me, it took me no time at all to remember the power of the creation pokemon, since I saw them in person and how terrifying their power was, especially the creator pokemon, Arceus.

For the first time I could notice her interest in what I had to say, her tone changed, and she asked me to help her finish her work.

I had never liked writing reports or assignments before, but helping Chloe seemed entertaining, she was really interested in what I had to tell her and she didn't question again if it was true what I was telling her, I felt really good to help her and see her a little bit calmer with me.

Then she started asking me about my travels and my experiences and I gladly told her, I didn't know why but seeing that she now had interest in something about me made me feel funny and even more so when I told her that last year, I was studying in a school more or less like hers.

"Wow I must say I'm impressed; I finished my homework much faster...thank you, Ash."

I think it's one of the few times she thanked me for something since met her and she gave me a smile, I think I was finally getting closer to her, although I had to give her my point of view, to see how she reacted.

"It's more, you should try different things from time to time" I told her, she asked me what I meant, so I was a little clearer, "Don't take this the wrong way Chloe, but life is not only what you read or what they tell you, it's going out and knowing those things on your own".

Maybe she would take it the wrong way, but I wanted to know what she thought about this, I wanted to see if there was a chance, she would come clean with me and find out why she had been so distant with me.

Her answer gave me a lot of answers, she was direct and a bit blunt, but honest, She believed that her way of doing things was the right way for her, but for some reason I knew she was just being stubborn or well that was my theory.

There I realized that there was something we shared, the tenacity to believe in our ideals and way of being, even being so different, but I really liked that about her, not all girls can be that stubborn.

I decided not to bother her anymore, since I had gotten what I needed, but I still wanted to let her know, so I told her something she would not expect.

"I know Chloe, you're a girl who's no pushover, we have that thing in common, but I have to say that's what I like about you."

Without another word I left the lab to find Pikachu and Lucario to continue my training. That day I realized that Chloe Cherise, it is the very opposite of me, but that there was something we shared.

It's safe to say that it won't be easy to bond with her, but well I've always liked challenges, and this is a very interesting one.

Well guys, I hope you liked the chapter from Ash's perspective, the next ones will be in a general perspective. Thanks for your comments and I will write the next one soon!
