Over in an abandoned warehouse, Twice had brought Chisaki, also known as Overhaul, to where the League of Villains was hiding.

Shigaraki said, "Well, now. You brought us a pretty big catch, huh, Twice?"

Chisaki replied, "You think so? Strange, coming from you. The League of Villains.

Magne asked, "What gives? Is this guy famous or something?"

Shigaraki answered, "My master showed me a picture of him. He's what you'd call yakuza. The young head of the Shie Hassaikai. To what do we owe the pleasure?"

Magne asked, "He's the number two of the whole gang? Ooh, I've never met anyone like him before! He smells so dangerous. How exciting."

Toga sighed, "What's the deal? We're all criminals here, so how is this guy different?"

Mr. Compress replied, "Ah! Allow me to tell you a story. In the past, there were many different scary troupes that ran the underworld. After heroes started thriving, though, they slowly but surely began to disband. When All Might took the stage, their era was over. The yakuza survivors who weren't caught became rent-a-thugs for villain groups. In other words, they were the lowest form of criminal, barely scraping by to make a living. Frankly, they're obsolete. An endangered species."

Chisaki retorted, "An endangered species, huh? I guess that's true."

Magne asked, "Yeah, what's a yakuza thug from the slums doing here? Let me guess, you're excited about All Might's retirement, too."

Chisaki shrugged, "It's good that he's gone, sure. But I'm more interested in All For One's absence. The dark emperor who ruled over the shadows. The old timers always feared him. Even after rumors of his death. Honestly, though, most people my age thought he was an urban legend. You can imagine the shock when he showed up in the flesh. But in the end, the big bad was thrown into Tartarus and the Symbol of Peace retired. Which means those of us in the shadows and those in the light are both leaderless. So, who will step up to take their places?"

Shigaraki walked up toward Chisaki, "You know who my master is, but you've still got the nerve to ask that? Sounds like a challenge. I'm the next leader. Even now, I'm gathering my troops. Our numbers continue to increase. With our combined power, I'll turn hero society to dust."

Chisaki asked, "You have an actual plan?"

Shigaraki growled, "Watch your tongue and your tone. I thought you came here to join up with us."

Chisaki replied, "A goal without a plan is just a wish. If that's what you're offering, why should I join you? What happens after you increase your forces? Do you have any idea how you'd even organize your League? You had the Hero Killer Stain at your side. Muscular. Moonfish. All first class game pieces. And you lost them, and worse, if the rumors are correct, you lost them because of children. Maybe you just didn't know how to play your game. You can't even manage a few crazy people, but you wanna build an army? What happens when that power spirals out of control? You need direction to achieve your goals. And I have a plan. I didn't come here today because I wanted to join you."

Shigaraki glared at Twice, "You brought this idiot here without knowing his intentions, Twice."

Chisaki continued, "In order to execute my design, I need money. Unfortunately, there aren't many people looking to invest in some obsolete, small-time yakuza. Now, your group, on the other hand, has widespread name recognition. Put yourself under me. Make me your new leader, and I'll show you exactly how to use the right tools."

He held out his hand, but Shigaraki growled, "Leave."

Magne charged in at Chisaki, "Sorry about ya, small fry. But we didn't band together to serve under somebody's boot. The other day, I met with an old friend. She's a gentle soul. But she supports me, even knowing about my past. You know what she said? Those who are bound by chains of society laugh at those who aren't. I'm here because I don't want to be bound by anything! We're free to decide for ourselves exactly where we belong!"

But just as Magne was about to strike, Chisaki took off one of his gloves and simply touched Magne's arm, causing the top part of her to explode.

The League was shocked by this.

Chisaki chuckled, "Just remember you made the first move. Ugh. I'm filthy now. That's why I hate the aftermath."

Mr. Compress charged in, although Shigaraki shouted at him to wait. But Chisaki hit Mr. Compress with a bullet that nullified his Quirk. Chisaki then blew up one of Mr. Compress's arms.

Shigaraki charged in. Chisaki tried to hit Shigaraki with a bullet, but Shigaraki dodged.

Suddenly one of Chisaki's henchmen blocked him, causing Shigaraki to decay him instead of Chisaki.

Shigaraki backed away, "Now I get it. You should have just started with this. Saved us all some time."

Suddenly the wall behind Chisaki exploded, with more of his henchmen coming in. One of them, Kurono, said, "That was a close one, Overhaul."

Chisaki replied, "You're late."

Kurono retorted, "And I missed a shot. But at least we know they work."

Twice was shocked, "Where'd they come from?! We weren't followed, I swear!"

Shigaraki concluded, "One of them probably has a tracking Quirk."

Chisaki said, "Hard to be objective in this situation. Besides, killing each other isn't productive. A death on both sides. Let's take a breather. We'll cool our heads and try again later. I owe your side an arm."

Twice shouted, "Bastard! I'll eviscerate you!"

Toga walked up, "Tomura. Let me cut him. Real quick."

Shigaraki said, "No."

Another of Chisaki's henchmen, Mimic, replied, "Smart decision, Face Palm guy."

Chisaki said, "I don't wanna rush you, but the sooner we talk, the better. Think things over carefully. Consider how your organization should be run. Then, when you've calmed down, call me." He tossed a card towards Shigaraki, and then he and his henchmen walked away.

Twice shouted, "They gotta pay for this! Why can't I go after him?"

Toga said, "Think, Jin. We need to get Atsuhiro to a doc."

Mr. Compress was still on the ground in pain, "My power wouldn't work. Damn, that hurts."

Toga looked at her knife, "Maybe we do have time to make them bleed."

Shigaraki said, "No."

Toga sighed, "Come on, Tomura."

Shigaraki replied, "Another time. Shie Hassaikai. You'll pay for what you've done today."

The next day, over at UA High, Aizawa was discussing work studies with Class 1-A, "The hero work studies are a more serious version of your internships. They entail helping pro agencies on the streets and with investigations. Your teachers and the principal discussed them at the faculty meeting. And we all agree. It's too soon. They should really be canceled."

Class 1-A was shocked, "What?!"

Kirishima groaned, "Aw, but we already met about them!"

Kaminari added, "I guess, when you think about why we had to move into the dorms, it does make sense."

Bakugo stood up and shouted, "Ha, ha!"

But Toru pointed out, "Just because you wouldn't get to do one."

Aizawa then continued, "But, some people think we won't be able to raise strong heroes with that sort of protective outlook. Fenton is already at the level where he could join any agency right now, if he had a pro license and a bit more training. You all need to be able to reach that same level. And with that in mind, the compromise is to be selective about participating agencies. So, choose one with a proven track record. Otherwise, you won't be taking part."

Bakugo growled to himself.

Tenya said, "A wise requirement."

Danny noticed Izuku was lost in thought and whispered, "I'm assuming you have an idea based on what Gran Torino said, since we can't go back to him."

Izuku nodded, "Yep. Sir Nighteye, All Might's former sidekick. I'm going to go ask All Might right after class."

Danny chuckled, "Oh, I've got to see this."

Izuku and Danny found All Might in the teacher's lounge. All Might was stunned, "Wait, you want me to introduce you to Sir Nighteye for the work study program?"

Izuku nodded, "Yes! Since he's one of the few heroes that have worked directly under you, it's a perfect fit!"

Danny noticed the look that the other teachers were giving Izuku so said, "Might want to tone down that excitement a little, dude."

All Might asked, "So, Sir Nighteye, who could have put that idea into your head?"

Danny answered, "He called Gran Torino, and the old man told us that he couldn't take us on, so suggested Sir Nighteye. You obviously get why Izuku's asking. I'm just curious about this guy."

All Might then said, "Well, I refuse."

Izuku and Danny were shocked, with Danny saying, "OK. Why?"

All Might replied, "I'm not saying that to punish you, though. I have three reasons. First up. I opposed the work studies in a faculty meeting yesterday. I think it's unnecessary for first years to start them so early. Although, Fenton, you are the sole exception, but I would find it unfair if you got to do one but your peers couldn't. Reason two. Midoriya, you need to work on your Shoot Style. Let's master that before you start doing extra hero work. Fenton, you've already got extra training with me because…you know…so a work study would just be an extra burden for you. And third. Sir Nighteye, I just don't wanna have to talk to that guy."

Present Mic was about to mock All Might for that comment, but Danny gave the teacher a green eyed glare that scared Mic away.

Izuku said, "All Might. Kacchan told me I'm not allowed to lose since someone like you laid the groundwork for me. And think about it. My Quirk is so similar to yours. If I'm working for Nighteye, he'll know exactly how to help me improve it. I need to get so much stronger than I am now. I've got more work to do than anyone. I need to reach Danny-kun's level!"

All Might looked over at Danny, "You're OK with him doing this?"

Danny nodded, "He wants to grow and learn. Mr. Aizawa did point out that everyone needs to get to my level. And I want to help my classmates become better heroes. This is something that Izuku needs most of all, like he said."

All Might sighed, "Fine." Izuku was about to cheer, but the former hero then held up two fingers, "On two conditions. One, Fenton is going with you."

Danny was confused, "OK, I was thinking about it, but why?"

All Might answered, "You are going to be the middleman. You will watch out for Midoriya as Sir Nighteye….can be a lot. Plus, you will update me on everything going on during your work study. I am your government assigned mentor, after all. I am interested on what Nighteye is up to, and how he is."

Danny smirked, "Even though you don't want to talk to him yourself."

All Might retorted, "Watch it! Just do this for me, please."

Danny sighed, then smiled, "All right. For you. And for Izuku here."

All Might then said, "And second. I can't be the one to introduce you. But I know someone who can."

A little while later, the PA system called for Mirio to come see All Might in the counseling office. Mirio was shocked, "Huh. Crazy. He wants to talk with me? Wonder what it's about."

Najire was with him and asked, "Hey, Togata, what did you do? Are you in trouble or something? What gives?"

Tamaki asked, "What business could All Might have with you?"

Mirio shrugged, "No clue. But…I've to-gata go see! Get it?" No one laughed, "Man! That was supremely unfunny. Wasn't it?"

He made his way to the counseling office, where All Might was waiting. Danny and Izuku were also there. Mirio sat down, "Aw, yeah. You are here!" Everyone looked at him weirdly. "Sorry! Couldn't help myself. I just got super excited that you wanted to talk to me."

Izuku was confused, "Um, I really don't understand what's going on right now."

Mirio agreed, "Right? I'm completely clueless, too."

But Danny has an inkling, "Mirio is the one who can introduce us to Sir Nighteye. Am I correct?"

All Might nodded, "Correct. He's currently doing his work study at Nighteye's agency."

Izuku was shocked, "Whoa, seriously? That's so cool."

Mirio said, "Yup! I've been working alongside him for a full year now."

Izuku realized, "Then you're, like, guaranteed to be his sidekick when you graduate!"

Mirio chuckled, "Well, as long as Sir doesn't change his mind, yeah."

Izuku smiled, "That's awesome!"

Danny nudged Izuku, "Let All Might talk. He has more to say."

All Might nodded, "Indeed. Let's get straight to the point. Tell me, young Togata, do you think that these two first years have what it takes to work beside you at the agency?"

Mirio replied, "So you do want me to take these two for an introduction. Danny was right. But, wait a minute, why do you need to go through me? I always see him watching old video clips of you in his spare time. I'm sure he'd be real happy if you called him up yourself."

Danny spoke up, "The old man has his reasons. They're not on speaking terms right now. Or he's too chicken."

All Might growled, "Watch it, Fenton!" Then he sighed, "But he's right. I can't face him right now. Because he was right. I ended up precisely where he warned me I'd be. Anyway, do you think these two have what it takes?"

Mirio replied, "Oh, man, that's a toughie. I mean, obviously Danny would have a better shot as he has more experience than Midoriya, and he beat me so easily, which would interest Sir. But let me ask both of you this. Why don't you tell me what kinda hero you wanna be?"

Izuku thought for a moment, then said, "I want to save people with a smile, and I want to be strong so I won't worry people. I want to always win and save everybody. I want to be the greatest. Got it?"

Mirio turned to Danny, "And you?"

Danny answered, "I want to save people, even from themselves. Yes, I know not everyone is redeemable, but everyone needs help. I may have a dark past, but I want to help build a bright future."

Mirio replied, "Wow, that was a lot. There's no reason for me to no, though. So yeah!"

Izuku was shocked, "You mean it? Oh, wow, thank you so much!"

Mirio replied, "Sure. I always figured Sir would take a liking to you anyway. Even you, Danny. But too take too psyched. I don't know if Sir will agree to take both of you on."

Danny said, "At least, thank you for giving us a chance to meet him."

Later, during the weekend at the dorms, Class 1-A was relaxing with a day off. Well, not for everyone. Kaminari was brushing his teeth, talking to Kirishima and Tokoyami, when Izuku ran past them at super speed, "Morning!"

Kaminari asked, "OK, what's up with him?"

Danny walked by, "He's impatient. Well, see you guys later." He transformed into Phantom and flew after Izuku.

Kaminari looked out the window, "Looks like they're not the only ones going out today. It seems that there's provisional license training on weekends."

Indeed, Shoto and Bakugo were walking towards a car that would take them to training. Shoto said, "You should be thankful to the teachers. You got caught fighting with Midoriya. But they're still going to let you retake the exam."

Bakugo groaned, "Oh, will you shut it?'

Shoto continued, "We've got to catch up to our classmates soon."

Bakugo shouted, "I told you to shut your damn face! And walk behind me, idiot!"

Phantom flew by, "Tick, tick, Bakugo."

Bakugo growled, "Shut up, Fenton!"

Back inside the dorms, Kaminari told Kirishima, "We're having a study session with Yaoyorozu later. You guys wanna come along?"

Kirishima said, "Sorry, man. We're busy today."

Phantom caught up with Izuku and transformed back to normal before they boarded the train that would take them to the city where Sir Nighteye's agency was. Mirio joined them, "Well, this is it. Sir Nighteye's agency."

Izuku was freaking out. Danny said, "Dude, chill out. Just take a deep breath and loosen up."

Mirio nodded, "But not too loose. Sir's actually a pretty strict guy."

Izuku shouted, "I'm fully aware! He's a hero famous for being demanding, on others as well as himself. His gaze is so harsh that it makes me shiver every time I see him on TV. He looks so severe! You might actually have some competition in the scary glare, Danny-kun."

Mirio said, "That's absolutely true. But there's a totally different side to him that the press never gets to see. If you wanna be acknowledged by him, here's a tip. You both need to do one important thing at this meeting. You two have to make him laugh. Then he'll totally approve of you."

Danny and Izuku were shocked. Danny said, "Um, that's interesting."

Izuku asked, "Hold on, What does that mean?"

Mirio replied, "Exactly what it sounds like. He seems stern, but he really values humor for some reason. It's like irony or something I think. The most I can do is introduce him to you two. Sir's the one who will decide if he can use any one of you. I wish I can help more, but that's all I got. From here on, you two will have to figure out how to make Sir acknowledge you by yourselves."

Izuku asked, "I've been meaning to ask, why is it you seem to know so much about me even though we basically just met."

Mirio was confused, "What are you talking about? I don't know you at all. But I do know that you've got a crazy ambitious goal and you're fighting to turn it into a wanting to help out someone who's in trouble is basically Hero 101, am I right?"

Danny said, "That's true. But why did you say Sir Nighteye would be interested in me?"

Mirio answered, "I know he, like everyone else, has seen your fight alongside All Might. And that's a win in his book." He stopped in front of the door to Nighteye's office. "Here we are! He's just beyond this door. If you wanna get stronger, then walk on through!"

"Got it!" Izuku marched towards the door, Danny stayed behind.

Mirio was confused, "Um, you should go ahead."

Danny shook his head, "Not yet. For two reasons. One, if my ears are hearing correctly, Nighteye sounds like he's in a meeting. And two, Izuku needs to impress him more than I do. So I'm letting him go first. Besides, I learn through observation."

Inside, Bubble Girl, one of Sir Nighteye's sidekicks, was going over some notes, "Let's see. The meeting site was already deserted by the time we got there, but we did find evidence that blood had been wiped off the floor. Due to the massive amount of damage to the building itself, it's safe to presume that some sort of fight went down there. It's most likely the League of Villains, but we're not positive."

Sir Nighteye then interrupted, "That's enough. You know, there's no future for a society without both humor and energy." He stood up and started walking over to her.

Bubble Girl started to freak out, "Huh? Um, Sir. The report is really long, so I was just trying not to mess up. Wait. No. Oh, please don't!"

Suddenly the door burst open, thanks to Izuku. Mirio said, "Heyo! I brought those two first year dudes I mentioned yesterday."

Izuku was shocked as he saw that Nighteye had chained Bubble Girl to a vertical table and activated it, which caused several feathers to make her laugh. "What kind of place is this?"

Danny peered over Mirio's shoulder, "I am curious about this, too."

Nighteye said, "See, this is how loud and energetic you can be."

Danny turned to Mirio, "Dude, what in the world is going on?"

Mirio explained, "That's his sidekick. Bubble Girl. I guess she didn't make him laugh. Oh, sucks."

Sir Nighteye turned and stared at Izuku, freaking him out. But he put on a brave face, "He wants to laugh? I can do that." He then molded his face to look like All Might, and then said in his best All Might impersonation, "I'm Izuku Midoriya."

Nighteye replied, "What is this, boy? Are you ridiculing All Might?"

Mirio was freaking out and whispered, "Oh, no. He's not funny."

Danny facepalmed, "Great."
