Chapter 21: You Are Ours

PLEASE READ: Soooo, I guess I'm doing the no-sleeping thing again tonight lol…I feel more awake at night anyway…it's peaceful.

Oh wait, something is missing (scurries to the kitchen to grab a snack only for one of the kittens to claw her way up my back before perching on my shoulder)…ok all settled now…ON WITH THE STORY!

Crunch…darn…I forgot the dip…

The people who had seen it coming from a mile away (or at least those who had noticed that Kakashi hadn't been seen to be in possession of an Icha Icha Tactics novel ever since a few weeks after Hadrian arrived in Konoha) immediately exited the cave even if they truly hadn't expected Itachi to have similar thoughts.

Naturally, Naruto was the first to exit, followed by Sasuke, and much to their amusement, Orochimaru…since he seemed to be too busy chatting to his newest student to really notice anything else at that moment.

Sakura went out next as she knew how much Hadrian hated being stared at, and this prompted Shikamaru to nudge his sensei and his teammates, who quickly realized just who they were staring at and quickly made their way out of the cave.

Only Jiraiya, the two shinobi that Hadrian had rescued, and a few of Orochimaru's minions didn't seem to realize the danger they were in as they watched Kakashi come to stand in front of Hadrian while Itachi still hugged the young man from behind.

Kakashi seemed to pause and fiddle with his headband, and the next moment, the remaining audience felt their blood freeze as both Itachi and Kakashi turned to glare at them with the Sharingan on full display.

The threat was obvious…the duo would easily give them something to look at if they insisted on staying, and even Jiraiya realized that it would probably be accompanied by some of the torture techniques of Itachi Uchiha himself.

The mere thought had the rest of them scurrying out of the cave as fast as they could, causing Hadrian to blink in confusion for a moment before he fondly shook his head, "One would almost think that the two of you had the ability to trap them in an eternal nightmare…"

Itachi couldn't help but grin at that before he lightly swiped his tongue over Hadrian's neck and then bit down lightly on the spot between his shoulder and his neck.

The resulting gasp from Hadrian had him chuckling as Kakashi took the chance to steal another kiss that started out soft but soon turned heated.

For some reason, everything seemed like it was falling into place for the three of them at that moment, which caused Kakashi to gentle their kiss once more before pulling away.

Itachi grinned, "See…told you they would leave you alone."

Hadrian grinned, but then it faded as he glanced between the two men…"How?"

They knew what he was asking, and they glanced at each other before Itachi spoke hesitantly, "The Uchiha clan has a few secrets that no one outside of the clan knows…but I would rather show you, and I have a feeling that Sasuke should also be present before he ends up doing something stupid."

Hadrian was about to agree, but then he realized that he was still a bit uncertain about what was going on and he couldn't help but feel the need to confirm his thoughts as he looked between the two men, "So, you want me?"

Both men nodded immediately, and Hadrian couldn't help but bite his lip nervously before he got the courage to ask the next question that was plaguing his mind, "For how long…"

That simple question made both men freeze, and they couldn't help but glance at one another as some more pieces of Hadrian's puzzle finally seemed to fit together…and it wasn't painting a pretty picture about his past.

They silently vowed to find and kill the ones responsible.

Kakashi was the first to speak since he had gotten to know Hadrian first, "Shinobi don't tend to live long lives…" he paused as a strange wave of energy left Hadrian's form at his words, but then continued, "…but I hope to be together with you for the rest of my life. I told you previously I wanted to be selfish for once, I meant it."

The strange energy dissipated at that moment, and Kakashi couldn't help but smile sadly when he noticed Hadrian's surprise at his words...even as he glanced at Itachi to try and convey that he was talking about him as well.

Hadrian felt Itachi's arms tighten around him, and he tilted his head slightly to look at the man, immediately noticing the clear wonder in the man's gaze as he looked at him as if he was something the man had been looking for, for a long time before turning that gaze toward Kakashi as well.

It was quiet for a moment as Itachi seemed to gather his thoughts before he spoke, "I'm not good with words…there is so much I want to share with you and Kakashi…but it will have to wait until we get back to Konoha, or you might not believe me. What I can say, though, is that my existence revolves around the two of you now, and without you, life will have no meaning."

It was a bold declaration, but both Hadrian and Kakashi could feel the weight of the words and it made them curious about the Uchiha clan's secrets.

They didn't linger in the cave for long after that, since they knew they needed to head back before any other enemies decided to show up, and Hadrian found himself completely forgetting about his encounter with the strange being in the woods as his mind kept trying to come up with figuring out what the Uchiha clan's secret was.

Given that he was in his dire wolf form, it was easy to simply let instinct take over while he tried to puzzle things out.

He did notice that neither Kakashi nor Itachi seemed to stray too far from his side and he couldn't help but want to pinch himself in order to see whether he was truly awake, much to their obvious amusement when they noticed how twitchy he seemed to become.

When they finally reached Konoha's walls, Hadrian cast a powerful Notice-Me-Not over Orochimaru and his minions under the guise of giving them a potion, and he gave them a warning look as Kakashi, Asuma, and he parted from them in order to report to the Hokage.
