"Why hello," said Hu Tao in her singsong voice. "What brings you here today?"
The brown-haired girl skipped from the fireplace. Mirror Maiden couldn't quell a throbbing irritation in her forehead. This blasted child always pestered her, following her around and asking inane questions. She couldn't walk two steps in the Teapot without getting accosted by her.
Smiling politely she answered.
"Just wanted to talk to Arlecchino. That's all."
"She's not here right now. Can I take a message?"
"Miss Hu Tao," she said through thin lips. "I'm sure you can appreciate that communications between the Fatui must remain confidential."
"Alas. And here I thought our friendship meant we could tell each other anything."
Her orange starry eyes lighted on Mirror Maiden.
"I'm sorry."
"Oh, I understand," said Hu Tao dismissively. "Everyone's got a secret."
Mirror Maiden's throat dried.
"A secret?" She repeated. Mirror Maiden tried passing off her surprise with a snort. "Rest assured, I don't have any secrets you need to know."
"Oh, but you do."
The director stalked towards her. Before she could react, Mirror Maiden found herself trapped between Hu Tao and a wall. Piercing orange eyes studied her, gazing right down to her soul.
"In fact," she continued, "I think you've been hiding something from us all since you got here. Am I wrong?"
"I don't," she stuttered. "I don't know what you mean."
"Oh, but you do," said Hu Tao. "You certainly do."
Hu Tao raised her fist. Her finger slowly unfurled onto the Mirror Maiden's chest, right over her hammering heart.
"Tell me," said Hu Tao, "how'd these get so big?"
She poked Mirror Maiden's breasts.
"W-what?"
Hu Tao smirked. "Come on, girl. What's your secret? How'd you grow out those sweater puppies?"
Mirror Maiden blinked, her mouth askew. Hu Tao kept prodding her boobs like a cat playing with a yarn ball.
"Please?" she said with puppy dog eyes. "Share with me your secrets to big honkers!"
Mirror Maiden blushed, pulling her bosom away from the gremlin. "There's no secret! It just…happens."
"Destiny, huh?" Hu Tao sighed. "Alas. But I suppose we're all bound to destiny. Some of us get big boobies, and some of us don't."
Mirror Maiden inched away from the madwoman, towards the front door. Hu Tao continued her bizarre ramblings.
"Destiny isn't fair," said Hu Tao. "The only destiny we all have is death. Once we die, poof—we're gone. No one comes back from the dead. Am I right?"
She cast a meaningful glance at the retreating Fatui.
"Oh, you're leaving already? Toodleoo."
Mirror Maiden rushed out of the mansion in a panic.
