I don't own anything.
The Guild's Basement.
The damage could have been worse considering they were using the basement as the new place of operations.
"Lucy's back!!!"
Everyone got one look at Natsu and all the joy left their bodies. As a few people began to even glare at him. He didn't care about them.
"So uh...why is Natsu here?" Mirajane asked.
Natsu pointed at Lucy before moving his finger to point at Gray.
"Hello? I still have friends here and what's wrong making sure they don't get attack?" Natsu asked.
Mirajane seeing that as a legitimate reason had backed down with relative ease. Meanwhile, Gray walked over to Natsu and Lucy whom made it down the stairs.
"It was pretty bad, Phantom Lord attacked the guild while no one was here. For now, no one got hurt." Gray explained.
"Phantom Lord? I heard they're borderline legal, what did yall do to make them attack you?" Natsu asked.
"We never got along with them and we had a few skirmishes with them. However, I didn't think they would attack us unprovoked." Gray stated.
"Oh Welcome Lucy!" Makarov shouted.
Natsu and Lucy saw Makarov drinking from a wooden mug. Natsu's eyebrow twitched in annoyance. His guild was in ruins and the old man was on his ass drinking!? Even Lucy was a bit perplexed by Makarov's actions. Natsu went up to Makarov.
"What the hell do you think you're doing!? The guild was just attack and you aren't gonna do a thing about it!? Get off your ass and retaliate because it's not gonna be your guild hall being destroyed!" Natsu yelled.
"Young man you should pipe down, if the best thing that Phantom can do is attack a empty guild than they aren't that harmless!"
Natsu pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Fucking humans and their bullshit logic. Phantom just sent a message they can and will attack you if you don't attack them first!" Natsu yelled.
"Since this barely concerns you but because Lucy as well as Gray are friends of yours, I hope you can understand that armed conflict between the Guild's is strictly forbidden."
Natsu stopped pinching his nose. As he unleashed his magical energy, he was losing his composure as scales began to form on his arm.
"Fuck the rules for once. They already attacked first, if you sit on your ass while drinking a mug as you pretend nothing has happened. You'll be sorely mistaken." Natsu stated.
Makarov dropped his care free demeanor as he let his magical energy out. Everyone in the guild sweated bullets at fearing a massive fight would implode within said guild.
"We feel the same way as you Natsu!" Erza shouted.
Natsu looked at Erza. The female facing him as he studied her for a moment before Erza reassured him.
"Doing nothing...isn't the right call to make but the Master has made up his mind. I don't think we will be able to change it. Please dont start a fight with Gray and Lucy here." Erza said.
Natsu retreated first before sneering at Makarov.
"I hope it was worth it." Natsu snapped at the old man.
Makarov backed down now that Erza got Natsu under control.
'Scary.' Everyone thought.
Natsu looked at Gray.
"Did you tell Ur?"
"She's coming back after dealing with the remainder of her mission. She might make it back tommorow afternoon or in the evening." Gray answered.
Natsu gave a nod.
"Lucy, me and Gray will be staying with you. I'm sure that Phantom Lord will attack during the night because someone wants to sit on his ass." Natsu said.
"You don't have too." Lucy said.
"I was actually thinking the same thing, safety in numbers." Gray stated.
"Yes, it's best that we look out for the other even you Natsu." Erza said.
The trio looked at Erza as if she grew a third head. Erza had to explain herself.
"I still care about you Lucy and Gray believe it or not. If you both care about Natsu, I suppose I can be less inflexible."
Erza also wanted to make up for her mistake to Lucy. She didn't know how to word it, she figured she just showed more of her caring side. All three of them were surprised at the response.
"Thanks...I guess." Natsu offered.
Natsu rubbed the back of his head as even he didn't know how to react to Erza's statement. Lucy may not have liked Erza immediately but she was starting to warm up to Erza. Gray would remember her words for the time being and see if she would transit into action.
That Night.
"Why did everyone decide to pick my place...?" Lucy asked.
Gray and Erza sat at her coffee table. Natsu had opened her window to sit comfortably on said window seal. Lucy stood in front of her door.
"I wanted to see it." Natsu said.
"It's closer to the guild." Gray countered.
"I was curious as well." Erza admitted.
"I guess make yourselves at home since you're already here." Lucy stated.
"Before we even do that, you boys need to freshen up, we won't be sleeping with the smell." Erza ordered.
"Whatever, I'll go after you girls get done." Natsu said.
A acceptable answer.
"There's no point, I'm too tired." Gray commented.
"It seems I have no choice, we will just have to bathe together like we used too." Erza stated nonchalantly.
Natsu nearly lost his balance while Lucy eyes bulged out of their sockets. Gray stiffened in panic.
"What the hell!?" Lucy shouted.
"I didn't think you two were a thing, sexual tension much?" Natsu asked.
"It's not like that!" Gray shouted.
Erza gave them a puzzled expression before realizing what she said, to two strangers, who did not know about them. Erza wanted to get mad but she controlled herself.
"Don't older siblings bathe with one another? There's nothing wrong with that." Erza stated.
Natsu calmed down.
"Lead with that jesus." Natsu commented.
Erza felt Natsu's eyes on her. He seem to study her body before looking away after getting his fill. Did Natsu just check her out? Natsu had to admit Erza did look physically attractive. Unfortunately, she hid it behind such bulky armor. A shame.
"Yeah, we used to bathe when we were kids but not anymore for obvious reasons." Gray said.
"That's still not normal." Lucy commented.
Though all of them ended up taking a bath or a shower. Everyone gathered at Lucy's table aside from Natsu as he returned to the window seal. Erza didn't bother to requip into her pajamas for two reasons. One, she was expecting a fight and two, Erza didn't trust Natsu. The female keeping up her wall.
"Say, you guys had skirmishes with them in the past, why?" Lucy asked.
"They're our competition in a way and sometimes we have to fight the other because of job offers. We get assigned to secure the stolen items while they get assigned to stop us from taking it back." Erza said.
"What but aren't they suppose to be a legal guild?" Lucy asked.
"Barely and besides they have some underground connections. Phantom Lord will do some dirty jobs without any paper trail. The council knows of these dealings but lack proper proof. It doesnt help that Master Jose has good publicity as a villian." Natsu explained.
"That's what pisses me off so much, The Council and Master just let Jose do so much without lifting a finger." Gray said.
"It's because Master Jose is a Wizard Saint on top of us being heavily outnumbered that makes Makarov hesitant." Erza admitted.
"A Wizard Saint?" Lucy asked.
"Its a title granted to the ten greatest wizards in the Continent by the Head of The Magic Council and Master Jose happens to be a Wizard Saint." Erza said.
"Does that mean that he is Makarov's Equal?" Lucy asked.
"Not necessarily, Makarov counters Master Jose Magic and therefore, it wouldn't be a issue for Makarov to wipe the floor with Jose. The problem comes in the form of available members. Quality vs Quantity, there is enough Phantom Lord Members to counter Fairy Tail's higher quality Wizards and as a result, both sides are too well matched." Natsu answered for Lucy.
"Correct, mutual assured destruction and Natsu had the right idea. We should have attacked while they were thinking we weren't going to attack. We could have sent their ranks into a rout to get the playing fields into our favor." Erza said.
"It doesn't help that they have a self proclaimed Dragon Slayer named Black Steel Gajeel, the Iron Dragon Slayer." Natsu said.
"Yes, he would be annoying to face." Erza commented.
"Iron Dragon Slayer? What even is a Dragon Slayer?" Lucy asked.
"History lessons folks, pay attention Scarlet this might concern you in the future."
Erza raised a brow as everyone faced Natsu.
"Dragon Slayers were made oh...400 and something years ago to combat the Dragon's that ruled over Earthland at the time."
"Made?" Gray asked.
"Four hundred years ago?" Erza asked.
"Yeah, made because of a woman named Irene Belserion. She is the mother of all Dragon Slayers because she was the first ever Dragon Slayer. To become a Dragon Slayer you have to be trained by a actual Dragon, a dragon lacrima must be implanted in you and or eating a corpse of a Dragon." Natsu explained.
"But Dragon's don't exist. I mean they are mythical creatures." Gray said.
"They're real have you heard of Sting and Rogue from Sabertooth? They have been documented to eat their respective element shadows and white color objects. It's the same as Gajeel." Natsu said.
"Yes, there is official testimony and documented incidents of Gajeel eating iron. It is why he would be so annoying to face." Erza mused.
"Seriously?" Gray asked Erza.
She gave him a nod.
"Shit, why do they say they're only legend if they're real?" Gray grumbled.
"History gets muddled with time and besides the time of Dragon's wasn't pretty. Many Dragon's viewed humanity as a food source and they were going to exterminate us. If it wasn't for a smaller portion of Dragon's joining Humanity and causing a Dragon Civil War. We wouldn't have made Dragon Slayers and we all would have died." Natsu said.
"Exterminate? Man that's a lot to wrap your head around." Gray commented.
Erza finger was on her chin as she remembered Natsu's past conversation about Irene. Irene looking like her. Irene being the mother of Dragon Slayers. It wouldn't be important to them but to a Dragon Slayer, it would be important. This got the cogs in head to turn as she could come to only one conclusion.
"Natsu are you...a Dragon Slayer?" Erza asked.
Natsu gave out a chuckle. It looked like Erza had gotten it right.
"Not bad Scarlet, yes I'm a Dragon Slayer. The Light Dragon Slayer to be precise." Natsu said.
Erza was happy that she was right but even she was slightly taken a back. Natsu, a dragon slayer, had decided to join their guild and they kicked him out. Erza remembered that event all too well. Maybe, she had been to hard on him.
"No wonder you could face Deliora down after reviving Ur, you guys have insane magical capacity." Gray said.
Natsu wouldn't say that, revival spells were costly and if you didn't have enough to cast them. Have fun dealing with the backlash.
"Wait, wait, wait but if Dragon Slayers are here now...how can they be four hundred years old and shouldn't there be more of them? I mean at that point, History would have prevailed because of the constant reminder." Lucy said.
Natsu rubbed the back of his neck at Lucy's observation. Everyone looked to Natsu as they began to piece together the story that Natsu gave them.
"No...way...how the...fuck..." Gray said.
"That's...wait...your ARM!" Lucy all but screamed.
Gray seemed to get the clue from Lucy. Erza was left speechless because she didn't know what was going on between the trio.
"Damn, cats already out the bag." Natsu said.
"What's going on?" Erza asked.
"What we saw on the mission to Galuna Island is Natsu's arm turning into a arm of a Dragon. Since Dragon Slayers are real. On top of Natsu having that break out, that means Dragon's are real. Natsu what exactly are you?" Gray asked.
"I'm a human but I'm at risk of becoming a Dragon. My Mother and Irene made a tonic from my mother's blood. The tonic gave me antibodies as you two are aware of and that is what is stopping me from becoming a Dragon. Don't worry, I'm the only one who is at risk of becoming a Dragon." Natsu said.
"The only one...why aren't the others going to be affected?" Erza asked.
"Their respective Dragon's are inside of them. This allows for the Dragon's to constantly reproduce a endless stream of antibodies to the Dragon Slayers. These antibodies being constantly supplied and growing in number make it to where they won't face the same fate as the original Dragon Slayers." Natsu said.
"But that doesn't explain how you guys somehow time traveled. That type of magic...it's unheard of." Lucy stated.
"I don't know the specifics for that, I just knew we went through a gate that transported us to the future by a woman with blonde hair." Natsu stated.
Natsu looked at Lucy.
"For all I know she could be your ancestor sane as with Irene to Erza." Natsu stated.
Now everyone looked to Erza. The female deep in thought and it did take her a moment to work out the fact that she had eyes on her.
"Ah, yes. Natsu had told me how alike me and Irene were, safe to say I was a bit shocked." Erza replied.
"Man time travel, Dragon's, Dragon's somehow inside humans. This is a lot to wrap my head around." Gray said.
"I need a break to digest all of this information." Lucy stated.
Lucy and Gray were mentally exhausted from the revelations and the information provided to them. All their life they thought Dragon's were a myth. However, they were proven wrong but even with answer that still left questions. Why did no bother to document such important information? How did the Dragon's and Dragon Slayers time travel? The questions were mounting but they needed a break.
"I'll explain more of it to you guys soon because it's a lot to go over. For now, just digest it because that's not the worst part." Natsu said.
"Thank you, Natsu. Yes, I'll need a minute to go over it all." Lucy said.
Natsu gave a nod as Lucy went to talk to Gray.
"All this time, they were real. Can you believe it?"
"I'm surprised about it too. I mean, Dragon's being able to live inside us. Damn but it matches up with Natsu and his condition." Gray replied.
Natsu eyed Erza. The female surprisingly quiet as she chose to contemplate. Natsu walked over to her with her looking at him. Natsu directed his head to the other side of the room. As if telling her to move out of earshot from her friend. Erza at first remained apprehensive about talking to Natsu. However, he had information on Irene Belserion. Erza remembering what he had told her and from Lucy's eureka moment knew that...begrudgingly, Natsu was telling the truth.
"Fine." Erza said.
The two moved to a slightly more secluded part of the room. Gray and Lucy were too busy discussing their thoughts that they didn't pay attention to their comrades.
"I want to learn more about Irene Belserion..." Erza said.
"Alright, I'll tell you." Natsu stated.
