Not knowing what to say or do, Wendy could only remain silent, while Seryu looked at her, with no form of reason on her face. She didn't seem angry or furious. In fact, she was stunned and couldn't take her eyes off Wendy. She had suffered too many emotional shocks today for her brain to function properly. Wendy was therefore unable to predict her next actions.

"Is it because of you that Caruma and the children died?" Seryu repeated.

" Seryu, I … "

"Of course it's her fault." Syura assured, pointing at her. "That girl is none other than a criminal who thought she was smart enough to believe she was superior to everyone! If she hadn't meddled in my father's business, know that none of this would have ever happened."

Also taking advantage of the presence of civilians watching them from afar, he assured.

"See? Nobody can do anything against us ... even Night Raid or the Jaegers! We are invincible! We are the elite of the elite."

Then staring at Wendy, the man questioned her.

"Do you finally understand who you dared to stand up to, you vermin? No one can defy the Prime Minister without suffering the consequences."

However, he quickly noticed that Wendy hadn't listened to him at all. Instead, she continued to stare at Seryu, who did the same.

"Wendy… why?" The other woman asked, feeling as if her mind was being attacked by hundreds of voices ordering her to kill the child.

"I… I never thought it would end like this." Wendy swore to her. "I… I never thought it would! I swear to you that I didn't want this to happen in any way! All I wanted to do was talk to the Emperor and make him understand his mistakes! Nothing more! There was no way I wanted Caruma and the children to get killed."

Suddenly, Giry's imposing figure appeared behind her and struck her in the back, knocking her to the ground.

"Talking to the emperor? Are you just an idiot?" The murderer questioned, placing his foot on her head. "You're nothing more than a simple brat! You're even more pitiful than the dust stuck to my soles."

Gritting her teeth, Wendy felt tears streaming down her face as she whispered.

"Huh?" Giry wondered, stopping his gesture.

"I'm sorry." Wendy repeated.

Hearing this, Giry immediately began to laugh.

"Hahahaha! Are you sorry? But it's too late for that, stupid girl! But, at least, it proves that you're not going to die less stupid! Hahahaha!"

"I'm really sorry, Seryu." Wendy apologized.

" Huh ? "

Looking at her, Seryu could only see sadness in Wendy's eyes, as the child sobbed.

"I didn't want them to die! Yes... Caruma... the children... Niks... I liked them! I... if they ever died because of me, I could never forgive myself! But please, help me."

"Have… Helped you?" Seryu asked.

"Yes! Help me, protect the rest of the civilians in this country." Wendy implored him.

"But when will you shut up?" Syura asked. "Giry, kill her."

"With pleasure." Giry assured him, raising his foot in the air. "I'll blow his brains out."

But just as he brought his foot down towards the girl's head, a punch managed to hit him square in the head. With his nose crushed, he couldn't groan in pain as he took a step back. Still managing to keep his balance, he glared at the person who had just hit him.

" You ? How dare you? "

Despite losing her left arm, Seryu was still able to use her second arm, something she had just proven just now.

"Hey, what are you doing, idiot?" Cosmina asked.

"Hihihi! Are you so stupid that you can't see your true enemy?" Enshin wanted to know.

Seryu then only glared at them, ordering.

"Shut up! Wendy is not my enemy! Wendy is… Wendy is…"

Beating her chest with her good hand, she screamed.

"Wendy is my friend."

"Seryu?" The child wondered.

"Your friend?" Syura repeated. "Are you stupid or deaf? I just explained to you that…"

"Wendy has nothing to do with all these massacres." Seryu retorted. "You're the ones who killed all these people, without a moment's hesitation! You're the murderers! Are you supposed to be a special police force? My ass! You make me want to puke."

"A murderer who dares to lecture us?" Enshin sneered. "Allow me to doubt your fine words! You've done nothing but kill too."

Then, raising his arms in front of him, he presented the capital while affirming.

"And everyone knows it very well! Everyone hates you for what you did."

"Exactly!" Syura agreed as he walked towards Seryu.

Then, starting to run, he closed his fist, while declaring.

"It's a shame! But if you want to die like this, that's up to you."

The punch he threw was precise, powerful, and fast. Yet, simply raising her good hand, Seryu managed to catch it without experiencing the slightest difficulty.

" That … ? "

"Yes, I killed all those people thinking I was doing good." Seryu confessed. "And it's only been a few weeks since I realized it! I'm nothing but a murderer, who deserves to be executed for what she did! And yet, Wendy continued to be with me and consider me her friend."

Then squeezing Syura's fist between her metallic fingers, she made the man let out a moan, as she informed him.

"But compared to the creature I was, you don't kill people with the right intentions! You only kill for fun! So I absolutely refuse to let you continue! Yes..."

Suddenly inhaling a large amount of air, she screamed.

"I am Seryu! And in the name of the Jaegers, I promise to rid this city of Wild Hunt."

With his face now in rage, Syura managed to grab Seryu's hair and tilted her head to make her hit his knee with force. With her nose pulverized, Seryu was then entitled to another kick in the stomach, which made her vomit.

"Are you done with your damn spiel?" Syura questioned, hitting her again and again. "You're nothing but vermin! What can a poor girl like you do against the Prime Minister's son?"

Her face swollen and bloodied, Seryu managed to look up at him, still affirming.

"You may be the son of whoever you want, but you are still a human like any other! In my eyes, you are nothing but a buffoon."

Even more enraged, Syura gave her another blow, which sent her flying towards Wendy.

"I want the guards called." Syura ordered. "I want these two girls to be publicly executed! I want them tortured! I want them to scream! I want to hear them beg me on their knees to kill them quickly! I want...! I want..."

However, he quickly noticed that his comrades had stopped listening to him. Instead, they were all staring at something. Following their gaze, Syura could only widen his eyes, seeing Wendy and Seryu, getting back on their feet. Helping each other, by putting their arms over their shoulders, the two girls grimaced and moaned with each movement they made to get up. However, after inflicting a real torture session on their bodies, the two girls managed to face the Wild Hunt again.

"We… will never… give up." They assured, daring to smile. "We are the Jaegers and we will destroy evil."

" How? " Syura wanted to know. " How can they still stand after all that? "

"Beat them." Someone suddenly shouted.

Having left his hiding place, a young boy had run into the street and ended up screaming.

"These monsters killed my father and sister! Please avenge them! Jaegers... wipe out Wild Hunt."

"Impertinent!" Syura growled. "How dare you?"

"Yes, get rid of them." A man shouted in turn.

"We don't want to live in fear anymore."

"Go ahead, Jaegers! We're with you! Destroy the evilly."

" Kill Wild Hunt ! "

Hearing people start screaming, other citizens also left their hiding places, while others came out of their homes. Finally, raising their fists in the air, the crowd that had formed then began to scream.

" JAEGERS ! JAEGERS ! JAEGERS ! JAEGERS ! JAEGERS ! "

Hearing them cheering, Wendy declared.

"See? Even if we die today, at least we'll know that the people will fight against you later! It's only a matter of time before you're lost."

Knowing however that neither she nor Seryu had a chance of winning against them, Wendy decided to launch one last attack, for honor. Remembering her last fight against Furrick, the young girl inhaled the air around her.

"ANTI-DRAGON MAGIC!" She shouted, before creating a tornado.

"What…?" Syura wondered, trying to back away.

Seeing the tornado heading straight towards them, Izou and Cosmina moved out of its way in time. However, being too close to dodge it, the others were hit by the attack. Finding himself trapped, Syura had the strange feeling of feeling the air currents around him begin to surround him and grab him like dozens of hands.

"What is this?"

Then he had the strange feeling that the wind was not pushing him away. On the contrary, he felt himself being sucked towards Wendy.

"What...? What is this attack?" he wanted to know as he tried to fight.

Then, suddenly, something lit up at his chest. And quickly a strange luminous ball left his body, just like for Champ, Enshin and Giry. Not even having time to know what it was, Syura suddenly felt very weak. He then understood what was happening.

" This girl, … she sucks our energy! "

Inspired towards Wendy, the four energy balls ended up touching the mage. However, for some strange reason, as soon as they touched the child, the four spheres exploded, immediately stopping the attack.

"WENDY!" Seryu was frightened, seeing Wendy, with her face covered in blood.

"What?" Cosmina wondered, not understanding what had just happened.

For his part, feeling as weak as Syura, Enshin roared.

"Stupid girl! I'm going to kill you!"

"She's just an idiot," Champ said, dropping to one knee. "She blew herself up."

"That attack is formidable." Izou retorted, joining them. "It sucks your energy and maybe even allows its user to absorb that energy to become stronger! However, that girl doesn't seem to be able to control that attack."

"Kill them!" Syura ordered simply. "Now!"

Without being asked twice, Enshin and Champ launched their respective attacks on the two girls... Cosmina began to sing... Izou ran towards them while pretending to draw his sword.

" This is the end! " Wendy remarked, unable to fight anymore. " I'm going to die. "

"Wendy!" Seryu called, grabbing her hand. "I don't regret anything! Thank you for everything!"

"To you too, Seryu!"

So preparing to find themselves in the other world, the two girls could only watch with surprise as their lives continued, while other people appeared.

Throwing feathers towards Champ's attacks, Run managed to stop his spheres dead in their tracks by making them explode.

"Grrr, you?" the clown wondered, looking up at the sky.

Drawing his sword faster than expected, Izou used it to stop Kurome's sword dead in its tracks.

"Oh? You surprised me! Kurome, the sister of the famous Akame! I'm so happy to see you! In fact, I had such a great desire to measure myself against you and your sister."

Stepping back, Enshin watched as each of his sharp air blades disintegrated as they hit Wave's armor. Grand Chariot was far too strong to break like that.

"Don't touch my friends." Wave ordered, trying to punch him.

Jumping back in time, Enshin began to growl and ended up falling back not far from Cosmina. The young woman was also shocked, seeing the enormous mass of Koro reappear, without the slightest scratch, and having used his body to protect the two girls from her vibrations.

" Again him ?"

"Koro!" Seryu rejoiced.

" The friends ... " Said Wendy.

"The Jaegers!" Syura recognized them.

However, regaining his smile, he pretended to be surprised to see them arrive like this.

"What do I owe this pleasure to, Jaegers? Don't you have better things to do than to bother us? Like die in your corner, just like your other companions did? We, right now, are fighting the evil of this city."

Remaining silent, Wave only looked behind him. Seeing Wendy and Seryu like this, he couldn't help but be furious at the state they were in.

Gritting his teeth, he was nevertheless able to control himself, while declaring.

"Syura, son of the prime minister."

"Yes?" Said the man.

"As a member of the Jaegers, I order the disbandment of Wild Hunt and the surrender of all your teigus! Obey without resistance."

Hearing this, Syura and his comrades remained frozen for a few moments. Then, finally, except for Izou, the whole small group started laughing.

"Hahaha! You heard, he wants us to surrender."

"And let him give us yours!"

"The Jaegers will never cease to amaze us! They really are just a bunch of clowns."

"Seriously?" Syura wanted to know, staring at Wave. "Who are you to think you're superior to the being I am? You may be elite soldiers, but only Esdeath would potentially have the right to give me an order."

"Okay!" Wave sighed. "In that case, you leave me no other choice."

And immediately he got into a fighting position.

"Run! Kurome! Sorry to involve you in this!"

"No worries." Run retorted, still staring at Champ.

"Just buy me a meal at a nice restaurant when this is over." Kurome told him.

"Oh! Great! Great! Great! Great!" Giry rejoiced. "I'll be able to keep fighting! Let me kill the guy with the wings! I want to cover myself in his angelic blood."

"No, I'm the one who keeps the pretty boys." Cosmina retorted.

"Personally, I would rape Kurome." Enshin stated, licking his lips. "I find her to my liking."

"Do whatever you want." Syura assured. "Just make sure to kill them when you're done."

But as soon as he spoke his words, a rain of feathers fell on his group. Seeing Run attacking them, Champ threw electric spheres, which exploded on contact with the feathers. Invading the place, smoke quickly blinded everyone. However, wanting to take advantage of it, the three Jaegers rushed into the cloud in search of their adversaries.

So, betraying her presence by coughing, Cosmina watched in horror as Wave ran towards her, before bringing his fist down on her stomach. Thrown backwards, she collapsed on her back, with a look showing only pain.

"Hmm?" Champ said, hearing her body fall next to him.

Suddenly ducking down, he dodged a new shower of feathers at the last minute, which narrowly missed piercing his skull.

"Grrr! Hey, is it just me or is this damn bird targeting me personally?"

"And why should that bother you?" Run asked.

Hidden by the smoke, he startled Champ, who tried in vain to find him.

"Where are you, asshole?"

"You and I have a score to settle," Run assured him. "Have you forgotten?"

"A score to settle? What are you talking about? I never met you before I joined Wild Hunt."

"Really? Yet, I remember one of your massacres, concerning a group of children that you killed, a few years ago! You must surely remember it."

However, it was at this moment that he heard Champ start to chuckle a little.

"You want me to remember that? It's impossible, idiot! I've killed so many children that it's always difficult for me to remember the number of my victims! To me, they were targets like any other, that's all! On the other hand, I wouldn't say no to resurrecting them, only to kill them a second time."

First widening his eyes, Run finally let his anger speak. Therefore, flying at full speed towards Champ, he tried to give him a powerful kick in the face. However, perceiving in time the sound of a wing beat, the clown managed to duck a second time.

Then creating a sphere of fire in his hand, he aimed it at Run.

" DIE ! "

Performing a magnificent somersault, Run managed to dodge the attack, which disappeared through the smoke. Then, a few moments later, the two men could hear a cry of pain from Enshin.

"AHHHHH! Who's the asshole who burned my arm?"

"Bastard!" Champ roared, trying to direct his gaze towards Run.

"No need to insult me right away," Run retorted. "I haven't even started."

Continuing to fight, the two men paid little attention to the smoke that disappeared from the place. Rubbing his eyes, Syura could see Cosmina, still on the ground... Champ and Run fighting each other... Enshin having a completely carbonized arm and Kurome dueling against Izou.

" Damn it! To think we had the situation under control! Why did they intervene? "

Then staring at Wendy and Seryu who were also watching the battle, the man roared.

"It's their fault! Giry, slaughter them! If they manage to recover their strength, we'll be in big trouble."

"No problem," the man assured him, turning to the two girls.

However, instead of seeing them, he could only make out a huge jaw pretending to close on him. Jumping back in time, he avoided being devoured by Koro.

"Grrr, what do you want from me, you stupid dog?"

"Koro, BERSERK MODE!" Seryu ordered.

Immediately, letting his body become more imposing, the teigu let out a roar before rushing towards Giry. However, barely had he taken a step that he put a knee on the ground, all the while seeming to suffer.

"Huh?" Giry wondered, not even having had time to attack him.

"What's wrong with him?" Wendy wanted to know.

"He already used Berserk Mode earlier." Seryu remembered. "He must be running out of energy."

Hearing this, Giry began to smile sadistically, while pointing his own teigu at Koro.

"Do you want a refreshment?"

Suddenly passing over Koro's body, Wave armed his fist, before hitting Giry with all his strength. Hit on the top of the skull, the man felt himself sent against the ground and his face was embedded in the asphalt.

" Giry ? " Said Syura.

"You're next." Wave assured, running towards him.

" Tsss ! You're just a clumsy one."

Groaning for his part, Enshin tried to forget the loss of his arm and tried to show that he was not in any pain. If someone from the enemy ranks noticed that he was injured, he would very quickly be considered an easy target.

" I have to leave quickly, " he said, skirting the battlefield.

Walking towards the city, to take refuge there, he was surprised to see two people, half hidden behind a wall, watching the fighting, with the rest of the citizens.

" Them? " Enshin wondered, recognizing Kije and Loke.

Immediately, wanting to take his anger out on someone, the man roared.

Running, he surprised everyone, rushing towards Bols' family.

"No, stop." Wendy begged, reaching out to him.

But, too far away to do anything, she saw Enshin running towards the mother and her daughter. Terrified, the two girls felt their legs paralyze, as the man brandished his saber towards them.

"Run away!" Wave ordered.

"Too late!" Enshin assured, aiming his saber at Kije's throat.

However, at the last moment, a huge hand managed to grab his handle, and stopped him.

"What…?" The man wondered, looking up. "Who are you?"

Falling on her butt, Kije also looked up, finally stopping shaking. Instead, tears formed in her eyes, as she stuttered.

"You… You… You're alive?"

Stopping their fighting as well, the Jaegers widened their eyes, recognizing the newcomer.

"Impossible, but how?" Seryu asked.

"You were... alive...?" Wendy whispered.

For his part, feeling sobs blur his vision, Wave couldn't help but shout the name of the person who had just appeared to protect his family.

" BOLS ! "

Standing tall and towering over Enshin, the former Jaeger was indeed here and alive. And, despite his mask, it was obvious that anger could be seen on his face, while seeing a few seconds of the scene had been enough for him to understand what was happening.

"I'm away from the capital for a few days and what do I see? A group of killers have appeared and tried to murder my family?"

Managing to free himself from his grip, Enshin growled.

"It doesn't matter who you were! Today, you are nothing compared to us, you poor wretch! We are Wild Hunt, the elite group! And we..."

He didn't even have time to finish his sentence before the tip of Rubicante was in front of his face. In an instant, he found himself completely incinerated.

"AHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Surprising everyone, Bols had attacked the man and, after screaming for a few seconds, Enshin ended up becoming nothing more than a pile of black ash.

"No one touches my family." Bols stated, glaring at the rest of Wild Hunt.
