Lucy had no idea why she was doing this for this delusive mutt with his problems. She wondered if he was dropped on his head by his so-called person. She hated dogs like him. She already hated him for how he acted around her; She just wanted to knock his lights out and be done with this.
When they came across an alleyway, Lucy saw the dog run passed her when he saw the cat she was talking about. "Whoa, hey!" Lucy exclaimed when she saw him do this. "You should be!" the dog shouted as he pinned the cat to a trash bin with his front paws.
She galloped down there and she pushed the dog off of the cat. "What are you doing!?" she growled at him, standing in a fighting stance in front of the cat, whose name was Mittens because of her white paws. "Trying to get answers out of this cat! She knows where she is!" The dog barked back, not backing down from this.
"You didn't tell me that this was the cat you were referring to!" Lucy barked at him. "This crazy canine has got the wrong cat!" Mittens shouted, shocked at what this dog was doing.
"Looks like we're going to do this the hard way," the dog said as he picked the cat up, galloping away with her while she kicked and yowled to be put down. 'Is this dog serious? I'm gonna kill him for this,' the husky thought as she galloped after him.

Eventually, Lucy makes it to a bridge that hangs over a highway, where there were a lot of cars driving underneath. She saw that the white dog was holding Mittens over the edge of the bridge, threatening to drop her into the traffic if she didn't give in to his demands.
"Hey! Put her down!" the red husky barked, getting the shepherd to turn his eyes towards her. He wasn't at all amused by what she said. "Wait, wait! I know where she is! We can show you where she is," Mittens exclaimed, just wanting this dog to put her down.
The dog gave in and he set her down on the bridge, but not without tying his leash that he had on his collar. "You're insane, you know that?!" Lucy growled, thinking that he was going to really drop Mittens into rush hour traffic. "You're suspicious too. You obviously work with this cat. Take me to where Penny is and we'll part ways, just like you wanted," the dog told her, standing in front of her.
When he said that name, something in Lucy's eyes changed. It was as if she recognized that name but she couldn't think of the reason why. She shook it off, not wanting to get too deep into her own feelings. 'This dog is clearly delusional…' she thought, frowning deeply.
"Fine. Just to warn you, dog, Lucy isn't friendly with other dogs," Mittens told him as they walked to a dumpster that was in an alleyway. "That's an understatement. She tried to kill me," the white dog said, whose name was Bolt because of the tag on his collar. Lucy glared back at him, baring her teeth a bit when he said that.
"Did you get a look at that tag he was wearing? Does it say where he's from?" Lucy whispered to Mittens. "He's from Hollywood, so we gotta play along," the she-cat whispered back, making sure that Bolt didn't hear what he said.
"Great… That means we're stuck with him," Lucy groaned with her ears dropped. She thought this would be an easy fix but after hearing this, she knew how long it was to get to Hollywood from New York. That's a long way from there.

The two dogs and the cat make it to the alleyway that had a dumpster in it. Lucy sat away from Bolt, staring at him while Mittens rummaged through the dumpster for something that could help them. Bolt tried to put a leash on Lucy but she made it clear that if he tried to put that on her, she'd bite his head off.
"You know, I hope you appreciate the risks we're taking here," Mittens said while she looked through the dumpster. "Um, we? I didn't want to be a part of this," Lucy groaned while she scratched her ear impatiently.
Then, Mittens popped out of the garbage bin with a map under her arm. "All the bones in my evil cat body are warning me not to betray the trust of the Green-Eyed Man!" Mittens said after she got the map. She jumped down to the pavement after she said this.
Bolt stood up and took a step forward with a slight glare on his face. Lucy also stood up and she glared back at the white shepherd, ready to jump him if he tried anything. "Okay. This is a top, top secret map of the whole planet," Mittens said to the shepherd before she opened the map, which showed the whole US.
Lucy remembered that Mittens said Bolt was from Hollywood. That was the plan to get Bolt back to where he belongs. "Now we're right here, by the green lady with the big torch and the Green-Eyed Man is holding Penny… Um… Right.." Mittens started, trying to find where Hollywood was.
"Look here," Lucy sighed and she put her paw on where Hollywood was on the map, "It's with the waffle with the sunglasses. All you gotta do is go from here to there. Now, if you don't mind untying my friend here and we'll leave," "I'll release her… when we find Penny. You're coming with us," Bolt replied to her, glaring a bit.
"What?! We had a deal! That wasn't part of it!" Mittens exclaimed, flabbergasted when he said that. "This deal just expired," Bolt replied, perking his ears. Lucy dropped her ears a bit as she returned the same glare of shock. "You're the most insane dog I ever met," she said.
