Inside of the building was nothing but ash, sparkling red. It was really hot in there, more than the dogs could handle. Everything was falling apart around them and it was hard to breathe. The entrance was completely covered, trapping them both inside. "I gotta find her! You find a way out, Lucy!" Bolt shouted, starting to run through the burning debris.

"I already said that I'm helping you! You can't change my mind!" Lucy shouted stubbornly as she started running with him. For a brief moment, it looked as if she was back in that dog fighting place. 'No… I gotta help Bolt save Penny…' she thought while running through the debris with Bolt.

They could hear Penny coughing ahead of them, meaning that she wasn't far from them. The two dogs followed that sound and jumped on some debris, seeing the red-head girl leaning over a wooden beam, struggling to breathe. The two dogs started barking to get her attention. Penny turned around to face the two dogs with wide eyes.

"Bolt! Lucy!" Penny exclaimed with a smile. The two dogs smiled and they both jumped down from the debris to run to her. Lucy couldn't stop herself from running towards Penny, becoming the puppy that she once was again. Bolt ran along side her while smiling.

Penny dropped to her knees and she hugged her dogs close to her. Lucy whimpered and she nuzzled the girl, tears rising in her eyes. Bolt whimpered happily as he nuzzled against Penny. "I knew you'd come back..." she said to the two dogs. Their reunion didn't last because they all heard creaking from above them. The trio glanced up and saw that one of the prop helicopters started to fall from the ceiling.

They had no choice but to make a run for it just before it crashed onto them. More debris was getting thrown around and they had to keep running and jumping to avoid being hit. Penny ended up falling on her front, because she was becoming weaker due to the smoke she was forced to inhale. Lucy whimpered as she used her red nose to nudge Penny so she'd stay conscious.

When the girl looked up again, she saw Bolt frantically pulling on a piece of rope. Penny got the idea of what Bolt wanted and she took the other end of the rope. "Bolt... Zoom zoom," she weakly said. Bolt had taken the rope in his teeth and started to pull Penny through the debris, trying to find a way out. Lucy was at his side, finding it harder to breathe the longer she ran.

Eventually, Bolt had pulled Penny to a vent, seeing that that could be the way out. However, Penny was too weak to stand up any longer, coughing even louder. Bolt and Lucy ran to her, trying to get her up but she wouldn't budge. The two dogs looked at each other in desperation before they pulled Penny to the vent.

Bolt used his front paws to get that vent open and he went inside of it. Lucy noticed that Penny wasn't moving so she barked to stop Bolt from moving. When he looked back, he saw that Penny was still laying there on the floor. "B-Bolt... Take Lucy and... go on out..." Penny wheezed, sounding weaker than before. Bolt sat down next to her, not leaving her side. "Go..." she said again, putting a hand to his furry cheek.

Lucy whimpered and she laid down beside Penny, licking her hand gently. Bolt laid down with his mate and his person, dropping his ears. "You're my good boy and good girl... I love you both..." she said, hugging the white shepherd and red husky close to her. Lucy had tears in her eyes, letting them fall. She had just got Penny back and she wasn't going to leave her to die.

The husky couldn't stand up, feeling weaker from inhaling all the smoke. She also felt a lot more dizzy than before. She was about to pass out when she heard Bolt barking, making her blue eyes slightly open. Through her blurry vision, she could see that Bolt stood to his paws. Bolt noticed that Lucy was awake and he looked down at her. "D-Do it, Bolt... Save us..." she weakly said before she closed her eyes again.

Bolt did the stance of his Superbark, reeling his head back before letting out a fierce bark in the vent, hoping that someone would hear it. He waited a few seconds before doing it again. Someone had to hear it for sure. After a few more barks, Bolt couldn't hold himself up anymore and he collapsed on his side, passing out. Little did the know, help did come for them because of Bolt's barks.

Paramedics rushed to get Penny, Bolt, and Lucy out of there. Penny was loaded onto a gurney and had a oxygen mask put over her face. She could see two firemen carrying both Bolt and Lucy out, who were still unconscious. "Bolt... Lucy..." Penny weakly said when she saw her two dogs. They were covered in soot from the fire.

Then, Ms. Forrester saw her daughter on the gurney and she rushed over to her. "You're okay... You're gonna be just fine..." the woman said as she walked along side the gurney. "She's stable. We're gonna take her to the hospital just to be safe," a paramedic said as they loaded Penny into the ambulance.

The fireman that had Bolt gently placed onto Penny as they loaded them up. "Here, ma'am. Does this husky belong to you?" the fireman holding Lucy asked. Ms. Forrester looked at Lucy, knowing now that this was the same one that Penny had a month before she got Bolt. "Yes, she does. Let me have her," the woman said as she sat down in the ambulance. The fireman placed the weakened red husky onto her lap.

Lucy smiled gently when she felt the contact of the woman. She felt content as the woman stroked her disheveled red and white fur. She would no longer be on the streets. She was finally home.
