Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Sailor Stars: Chaos Theory
Act 51: Race Against Time
By: Sora Kazeno
"Where did she go?" Sailor Venus asks everyone. She didn't like how Sailor Cosmos suddenly vanished.
"I think it is best that you, Mars, and Saturn return to Earth. Tell Mamoru-san what happened. I will need the assistance of Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune." Sailor Pluto instructs the others. She realizes she needs all the help they can get. She turns to the Starlights, "It might be best to alert your Princess right away. Have her mobilize those star systems. We need everyone. Chaos has returned and has corrupted the most power senshi to ever exist."
"Where are we going?" Sailor Uranus doesn't understand why she and Neptune are staying behind.
"We have one stop to make before returning to Earth and I know I will need your help. The quickest way to stop Chaos is to speed up time so this timeline will no longer exist. Without it, Chaos cannot survive. I am sure Chaos will try to slow or stop the merge. It knows it cannot survive in a world it was already sealed." Sailor Pluto briefly explains. "We need to be moving on. The longer we remain here the less prepared we will be when she returns."
"When she returns?" Sailor Mars asks. "How do we know she will return that quickly? Or where she will return?"
"Earth. Because it is were all you will be and she will go after your starseeds." Sailor Pluto's statement hits everyone hard. She wants them to have realistic expectations of what they are up against and how ruthless Sailor Cosmos can be. "You have to remember, it may look like the Princess- the Queen but it is not her."
"Queen?" Sailor Star Maker repeats slowly. "Just how much has changed?"
"Everything is different in the other timeline. She possesses knowledge you do not have. I can try to get everyone up to speed later. I must leave with Uranus and Neptune. Every second matters. We need as much help as possible." Sailor Pluto haphazardly explained.
"Maybe Creator and I should return to Kinmoku to warn the Princess. It might be best if you return to Earth." Sailor Star Protector suggests to the other Starlights. "We can make it back ourselves. It sounds like you are needed on Earth more. We know how dangerous Chaos can be and it might be everyone's best chance."
Sailor Star Healer sighs. "She has a point. It doesn't take five us to inform Princess Kakyuu."
"Any assistance would appreciated." Sailor Pluto quickly interjects before anyone could object to this plan. She turns to walk away. "Uranus and Neptune, we must depart. We will be heading a little further away from Earth before we rejoin the others."
"Where are we going?" Sailor Neptune asks with surprise in her voice. She doesn't understand why they would need to leave the Solar System.
"Nemesis. There are other senshi there that can help us stop her."
After Sailor Pluto, Sailor Uranus, and Sailor Neptune leave, the other senshi soon disperse. Sailor Star Protector and Sailor Star Creator returned to Kinmoku alone to inform Princess Kakyuu and alert Sailor Galaxia. The group is unsure what Sailor Cosmos' next move is and if she is really going to go after Sailor Galaxia.
By the time the senshi return to Earth, night had fallen.
Mamoru anxiously waited at his apartment for any updates. He knew he couldn't sit around the shrine the entire time. He returned home because he thought it would be easier, it wasn't. If anything it made things worse. He spoke to Ami and Makoto and tried to explain how the new crystal pendants worked. Ami's flight leaves early tomorrow and Makoto will be on the first train tomorrow. After those tasks were accomplished all he could do is continue to wait.
He lost track of how long and how many times he just stared at the phone for a minutes hoping it would ring. Everywhere he looked around the apartment he could see memories of Usa. Things they had done, conversations, private moments. And now she's missing.
When the phone finally rang at two in the morning, he jumps up and rushes to the phone, half asleep. "Hello?"
"We just got back Mamoru-san. There is a lot we have to discuss. Meet us here tomorrow at ten am. Everyone is exhausted and we need to rest." Rei explains to Mamoru. "I know you have a lot of questions and we answer them to the best of our ability then."
"What about Usa? Is she with you?" Mamoru needed to know the answer to that question before he hangs up with Rei. He has to know she is safe.
Rei does not respond. She knows she can't lie to Mamoru; he would expect to see Usagi at the shrine tomorrow or would come over immediately to see her. "She isn't with us. We aren't entirely sure where she is. But we are pretty sure she will return to Earth soon."
"Did you find her?" Mamoru becomes panicked at the thought of Usagi being somewhere on her own.
"There is nothing else we can do at this moment Mamoru-san. We did everything we could think of." Rei tries to hide a yawn. She is exhausted and it is hard to think straight. "We will answer all your questions tomorrow. I promise."
Mamoru sighs. There is a long pause before he finally responds. "All right. Tomorrow Rei-chan. I will see you at ten am."
Rei hung up the telephone. She didn't want to tell him the Three Lights returned with them, especially after the comments Sailor Pluto made on Earth that Usagi chose Seiya. Nor did she want to tell him they found Sailor Cosmos with the Starlights. It would lead to more questions and she needed to rest. She could barely think straight and is worried about what else she would say at this state of exhaustion.
Sailor Pluto, Sailor Neptune, and Sailor Uranus arrive on Nemesis quickly. Sailor Pluto sped up the process by directing them through the Time Streams. They did not have a moment to waste and they would reach their destination faster and conserve their energy. They could only travel a fraction of the speed of Sailor Cosmos and required nearly the triple the amount of energy. If they could complete their detour quickly they could rest before returning to Earth on the long journey.
The trio arrives on Nemesis outside a familiar structure to Sailor Pluto. Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus immediately stand in an offense stance expecting danger.
"There is no need. We are safe here at this moment. The Black Moon is long gone but those we seek are still confined here." Sailor Pluto walks inside the structure immediately heading down the long corridor to the room at end of the hall. She knows without Charon's help, they will never stand a chance. "When we return home we have to make sure Sailor Mercury and Sailor Jupiter join us. I'm sure Mamoru-san has already reached out to them."
Sailor Pluto smiles slightly. There are about to have eight senshi join them in battle against Chaos they did not have before. Unfortunately their powers are weak in comparison to their super forms when Neo Queen Serenity ascended the throne. She knows the Inner and Outer Senshi are fortunate to have their Eternal Powers. It is unlikely the Moon Senshi will receive an upgrade to their power or the Starlights at this time. It would take a significant time jump, a jump where Chaos is already defeated. Based on the events of the previous timeline, there was a small narrow window in which Chaos can exist. Chaos is likely to do anything to expand that window or freeze it. She hopes with help from Sailor Charon, they can close that window. But first their comrades need to be free from their imprisonment.
She enters the room which houses the trapped Moon Senshi. She pauses to turn around to face Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune. "Do not be alarmed with what you are about to see. Those trapped inside the crystals are our allies and have been since the Silver Millennium."
"Allies?" Sailor Uranus repeats in surprise by the revelation. "Who are these allies?"
"The Moon Senshi. Senshi selected from the Moons of their respective planets tasked with protecting the Crown Princess of their planet and completing secret missions for Queen Serenity." Sailor Pluto gives as brief an explanation as she can. "We will need their help to stop Sailor Cosmos. We did not have their help last time. I am hoping it is something Sailor Cosmos is not anticipating."
"Tell us what you need us to do." Sailor Neptune responds as she begins to fully understand the seriousness of the situation.
"I will need your help to break the crystals. Your new abilities should be the perfect combination to shatter the crystals. The only problem is you haven't used them yet in this new timeline. I hope it will be easy for you summon the ability." Sailor Pluto neglects to mention the difficult part of this task. "Sailor Neptune, I need you to attack first to weaken the structure of the crystal."
The trio enters the room and slowly walks around. Sure enough there are eight senshi enclosed in crystal.
Sailor Pluto rushes over to Sailor Charon. She notices the crystal is intact and has not begun to crack. She frowns. She hopes her gamble pays off. There is no way she can stop Sailor Cosmos on her own. "Start with this senshi, Sailor Charon. She is essential to help me slow down time."
Sailor Neptune nods her head. The task sounds simple enough but she didn't know what her new ability was. "What is the new ability that I possess?"
Normally a senshi is tasked with searching within themselves to unlock their true powers but in this case every second matter. "An attack with a violin… the sound should help weaken the crystals."
"A violin…?" Sailor Neptune repeats slowly. "That sounds like an odd attack but I don't have a violin with me." She pauses when she realizes she needs to create the violin herself out of pure energy. "Ah. Of course. More efficient." She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath searching for a way to summon the needed energy. A few images come to mind of being on Neptune searching for a pendant and finally finding the object. She can see the details of her quest more clearly. She sees desperation by the senshi to gain powers to stop Chaos and save their Princess. Sailor Neptune's hand glows faintly with aqua light. She can feel the energy begin to form in her hands taking on a rectangular shape at first. The shape grows smaller and more distinct into one of a violin in her left hand. In her right hand, a thin straight line of energy appears and transforms into a bow. The experience is something else to summon these abilities for the first time. She questions what other abilities she may now possess. She has time to question and learn about them at a later date. She refocuses her energy as words begin to form in her mind. She has a clear view of her attack. "Neptune Violin Tide!"
Energy erupts from the melody of the violin as Sailor Neptune plays within the confined space. The sound and energy hits the crystals surrounding them. None of the crystals shatter but visible cracks begin to form in many of them. She walks forward to examine the crystals. "What are these crystals made of? To be so strong…"
"I don't know but they have been imprisoned since the time of the Silver Millennium." Sailor Pluto responds sadly. "They have been here for far too long and missed so much."
"Why didn't we free them sooner?" Sailor Uranus is shocked to learn how long they have been confined on this planet.
"We only recently found them. To free them any sooner would be to tramper with time. There were freed in the previous timeline. Sailor Charon helped me attempt to restore time." Sailor Pluto explains with sadness in her voice.
"Is it true," Sailor Uranus asks knowing this might be the only time to hear the story when they are not in the presence of the other senshi, "That the Princess did not chose Mamoru-san and that is why you wanted to change the timeline?"
"Yes. Her decision created an entirely different future. One where she became Queen at the age of seventeen. It was never supposed to happen like that. She has never supposed to be Sailor Cosmos. Which led her to make a decision that ensured Crystal Tokyo would not come to be. Without Crystal Tokyo, Small Lady will never be born. I couldn't stand to see that happen. We tried to reason with her so many times, but each time she pushed us away. We were afraid of losing her if we pushed too much. She didn't come to the decision lightly. There were multiple times we thought she would change her mind and return to Mamoru-san. When she made the decision not to, Sailor Charon and I felt it was our duty to correct her mistake. The Guardian or not, she does not belong with someone from Kinmoku. Regardless of Sailor Cosmos' past connection with that planet." She shakes her head to clear her thoughts. "We have to continue. Sailor Uranus, we will need your abilities next."
"Isn't it ironic that the timeline you wanted to erase is now what will save us?" Sailor Uranus waits for a response from the Guardian of Time.
"This is something I never anticipated. I guess it is true. Somethings cannot be changed and we will all have to eventually adjust to her being with the Starlight. When the timelines finish merging, memories of this time and place will no longer exist. No one will ever remember her being married to the Prince."
Sailor Uranus narrows her eyes. "She has to be with him to stop Chaos? Unbelievable."
"For the safety of the galaxy." Sailor Neptune adds. She doesn't like the idea of this future either but given the alternative of their current circumstances there are few alternatives. "We will have a long talk with the Princess when this over." She adds mentally, if we remember.
"What do you need me to do?" Sailor Uranus waits for further instructions. She has a better understanding of the dilemma they face. They have to fight Usagi in order to stop her. "I don't like the idea of fighting her when we are supposed to protect her but right now she is a threat to our solar system that must be stopped."
"You need your talisman. A strike from your blade should be enough to shatter the fractured crystals. Like Sailor Neptune you will need to be able to summon your new ability." Sailor Pluto quickly explains.
Sailor Uranus nods her head. She pulls out her talisman and holds the sword in her hands. She closes her eyes to focus her energy on the object. She already had one attack with the talisman and wonders what other ability it could gain. She needs a strong attack. What could be stronger than the talisman? Combining the talisman's power with her own. The talisman glows a little in her hands when she channels her energy. The attack begins to take shape in her mind. Her eyes snap open, sword ready in her hands for an attack. "Uranus Space Turbulence!" Energy erupts from the blade hitting its intended targets.
Cracking sounds are heard as the crystals begin to fall apart, some faster than others. The one next to Sailor Pluto shatters first. Sailor Charon staggers forward.
"Did it work?" She groggily asks Sailor Pluto.
"We did restore the timeline temporarily but at great cost. The Guardian awoke and with it came the return of Chaos."
Sailor Charon stares at her in dismay. "That was our only chance to set things right! You mean to tell me any timeline where the Guardian awakens means Chaos will return?"
"Yes."
"…how could we have missed that?" Sailor Charon is angry at both of them for not seeing this potential issue. She will forever be mad at Usagi for choosing Seiya but Chaos means death and destruction. She looked at Sailor Uranus and Neptune. "Thank you for freeing us. We will have to explain to them what has happened."
As if on cue, the other crystals broke, the enclosures could no longer contain their occupants.
Sailor Callisto is shocked to be standing among Sailor Pluto, Sailor Neptune, and Sailor Uranus in a form she has never seen before. "What happened? And somehow I don't think it is good news."
"We must return to Earth. Chaos has reappeared." Sailor Pluto quickly explains. Her voice lowers. "While you were… away, the Silver Millennium was destroyed and Queen Serenity made it possible to have everyone reincarnated on Earth. Princess Serenity awakened as Sailor Cosmos, and Chaos was within her starseed. I know everyone is exhausted but we must begin to travel to Earth, the other senshi will need all of our help."
"The Guardian…" Sailor Phobos murmurs. "I guess it wasn't just a gut feeling by the Queen after all. This is terrible news."
"That is a lot to take in at once," Sailor Umbriel comments, trying to absorb everything thrown at her at once.
Seiya woke up early; he couldn't sleep any more despite how exhausted he was. He sits at the end of the shrine walkway in the back. He didn't want to be spotted by anyone, it is the last thing he needs. He tries to wrap his mind around everything that happened within the past twenty four hours.
He was excited to be heading in the direction of Earth but worried about the explosion they were to investigate. He finally sees Odango again only to learn she is the Guardian, Sailor Cosmos and from some alternate timeline where she already defeated Chaos and was with him. In this timeline, she is Sailor Cosmos and is controlled by Chaos and just took Sailor Star Destroyer's starseed. Life seemed less complicated before he left for Earth.
He doesn't flinch at the sound of familiar footsteps behind him. It's Taiki.
"I guess you got your wish," Taiki comments and sits down next to him.
"I didn't want to see her like this." Seiya doesn't look up from the ground.
"There are a lot of questions I have for her about this alternative timeline. She makes it seem we were on Earth for a while. I also wonder about this training was she started to discuss on Kinmoku."
"Hopefully we'll be able to figure out these answers," Seiya had so many questions for Odango, including the statements that she chose him over Mamoru. It was something he always hoped would happen but to just have that bombshell dropped on him after just seeing her again so soon and not being able to ask her about it. Did she follow him to Kinmoku? What changed in that timeline to lead to her change her mind about Mamoru and chose him instead? What kind of relationship is it? Was it serious? All of these questions kept him up late preventing him resting.
"I guess we will find out soon enough when this new timeline merges this one." Taiki stands back up. "It is nearly ten am and Mamoru-san should be arriving soon." He pauses to add, "I'm not sure how thrilled he will be see you based on…. recent disclosures."
Seiya smirks slightly. "That doesn't matter right now. We all have to work together to stop Chaos." Figuring out what happened between them would have to wait until Chaos was defeated and all starseeds were returned. He hopes he can reason with Chaos. A part of her is still Odango. He refuses to believe she is that far gone. Sailor Galaxia couldn't be reasoned with until she met Sailor Moon. It is possible. Someone has to be able to get through to her.
Mamoru slowly climbs the steps up to the shrine. He barely slept since he received the telephone call from Rei. He has so many questions. Did they ever find Usa? What made Rei convinced she would return to Earth that quickly? Where did she go after leaving Earth? It didn't sound like Usa at all. Yet… the Usa he has known for the past month seemed off. This could explain why her actions were so different.
He pauses by the entrance to the shrine that has a sign up that it was closed for the day due to maintenance. More like closed to the public so everyone can talk freely and not worry about being disturbed.
He knocks on the door and pauses before heading to the back room where they would usually meet. He silent walks to the end of the hallway and attempts to collect his thoughts the best he can along the way. He walks into the room and immediately notices not everyone is there. Rei, Minako, Hotaru, Luna, and Artemis are present. Along with someone with long white hair tied back in a ponytail. The person looks familiar from somewhere but can't place them. He notices Michiru, Haruka, and Setsuna are absent. Before he can ask any questions, the door at the other end of the room slides open and two more people walk in. The first one is tall with brown hair tied back in a ponytail, the second person that walks in is a face he wouldn't forget. Seiya. The one that told him to protect Usagi before he left for Kinmoku. The one that clearly had feelings for his wife when he left Earth all those years ago. The one Usa supposedly… His eyes narrow but he doesn't speak just yet. Yelling at Seiya about Usa supposedly choosing him would not accomplish anything especially when Usa has been with him the entire time… until she left yesterday. He couldn't hold back it back anymore. "I didn't know you were in town." He greets them with an icy tone.
"We ran into everyone last night," Taiki explains preventing Seiya from answering. "It seems we were all drawn to the explosion and needed to know the nature of what caused all of the destruction. It seems we have reason to be concerned." Taiki carefully answers. He knows the tension will be high and Seiya could become too emotionally involved. That was the last thing they needed right now.
Seiya knows exactly what Mamoru is insinuating. "We've been in the Kinmoku Star System since we left Earth all those years ago until yesterday." He sits down on the other side of the room, purposely away from Mamoru. He understands why Mamoru gave him a look of death, but he hasn't done anything. He can't be blamed for what the alternative timeline version of him did.
"Ah." Mamoru sits on the floor on one of the cushions. The explanation seems plausible. Before he has the chance to speak again, the door opens.
"I got on the first shinkensen I could." Makoto states breathlessly. She just bolted up a flight of steps. She is wearing a green crystal pendant around her neck. "Is this the pendant you told me about yesterday? It was already around my neck this morning. So I'm guessing these are the new powers you mentioned." Makoto speaks in a rush and collapses to the floor on a cushion trying to catch her breath by Mamoru.
"Mako-chan! It's so good to see you!" Minako reaches over and hugs her.
Makoto hugs her back. "I've missed everyone a lot. I can't wait to move back to Tokyo when I'm done with school." She looks around and finally notices the Three Lights are present. "Oh my gosh! I can't believe you're back-" Her enthusiasm fades as it hits her. "It's this serious…" She turns to Rei. "You never told me the Starlights are here."
"No, I wanted to explain it to you and Mamoru-san together. I'm sure there are things the Starlights can fill us in on as well. When we found Sailor Cosmos she was with the Starlights."
"We need to start with the beginning. We heard some story about an alternative timeline and suddenly the mythical senshi, Sailor Cosmos is standing before us. How did she become Sailor Cosmos? Sailor Cosmos is a legend from our star system." Taiki interjects and realizes he will be doing a lot of that today.
"Your star system?" Minako gasps. "How…."
Luna clears her throat to direct everyone's attention to her. "Queen Serenity, her mother, suspected Sailor Cosmos was reborn within Princess Serenity. It is the main reason she was never allowed to be a senshi during the Silver Millennium. I guess it is only natural that when Queen Serenity used the Maboroshi no Ginzuishou, Sailor Cosmos was reborn at the same time." Luna's eyes are sad as speaks to everyone. It was great to see everyone together but wishes it was under better circumstances. "What about Ami-chan?"
"She has a flight coming in tonight from Germany." Rei pauses when she realizes something. "She probably could have just teleported here but we didn't think of it sooner."
"It's probably for the best since I doubt she knows how to use her new abilities." Artemis states what everyone else is thinking.
"Why did she leave Earth?" Seiya suddenly asks. He wants answers as to what happened. "I'm trying to understand what led to her blowing up an asteroid."
The color drains from Inner Senshi and Mamoru.
"…she...blew up… an asteroid? Impossible." Mamoru immediately dismisses the thought. "She would never…" He pauses when he remembers seeing her attack Sailor Uranus. He sighs. "She did attack Sailor Uranus when she tried to stop her." He hates to admit it out. "This Usa… I don't know who she is." He rubs his hand in hair for a moment before lowering it back to his lap.
Usa? Seiya immediately picks up on the different way he referred to Usagi. The light bounces off a piece of metal on Mamoru's hand. What he remembered about culture on this planet, it is a wedding ring. He tries to shake that thought. He didn't want to miss anything.
"I guess it really is best to start at the beginning. How did she get these powers? What was she doing before this happened?" Makoto is beginning to realize how much she has missed by being away in Kobe.
The senshi took turns explaining what they know. By the time they were done, a new group appears.
Sailor Pluto, Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, and the Moon Senshi arrive interrupting their meeting. "We've finally returned." A wary Sailor Pluto announces.
"You found… more Sailor Senshi?" Hotaru stares in awe at the eight new senshi before them.
"We were rather surprised as well. They were just past Pluto this entire time." Sailor Uranus shakes her head as she realizes just how exhausted she was from traveling so far. She can't focus on anything other than sleeping. Sailor Pluto was able to shorten the trip by using the Time Streams but there was still so much to cover and it exerted a lot of their energy. "Is there a place we can rest for a little while?"
"Of course," Rei slowly stands up, still looking at the other senshi in utter confusion.
"The others should rest as well." Sailor Pluto gestures with her head. "They will need to regain their strength. I will remain with everyone here."
"Me too." Sailor Charon adds.
"You need to rest." Sailor Pluto argues with her.
"No. Both of us are responsible for… what we did to the timeline." Sailor Charon lowers her eyes in disappointment. "It's the least I can do, try to help explain things to everyone. We are the only ones along with Sailor Cosmos that have memories from the previous timeline. It is valuable information."
Sailor Pluto reverts back to Setsuna. "As you wish. I can't argue with that. Please let me know if I am missing any details."
Sailor Charon becomes Yui and takes a seat next to Setsuna. She realizes all eyes on her and wants to know her role. "Umm… Rei-chan, can you help the others first? We'll wait until you get back." Yui tries to hide a yawn at the end of her sentence.
Rei numbly nods her head. This was so much to take in at once. Who were these new senshi? Why were their fukus so similar to the ones they wore during the Silver Millennium? She shakes her head. She is jumping ahead of herself and she knows that Setsuna will explain everything when she returns to the other room. She leads them to the spare room and begins to pull out futons. She passes some pillows and blankets to Michiru and Haruka.
"Thank you," Michiru is grateful for the chance to rest. She notices the daze look on Rei's face. "Setsuna-san will explain everything to you. The new senshi are our allies and have been since the time of the Silver Millennium. It will all make sense." She tries to reassure Rei. She understands how overwhelming all of this new information can be. She had hours to process everything.
Rei nods her head again. "Okay. I just have so many questions."
Sailor Cosmos is undecided where she should go. She has no way to find Sailor Galaxia. She was often on Kinmoku to help with reconstruction efforts. She can't risk going to the planet due to this body's weakness. It would ruin everything. She knows two Starlights in training will alert Princess Kakyuu.
She doesn't know how much time is left before the two timelines collide. Her eyes widen slightly as she realizes time moved forward again. She clutches her staff to return to the Time Streams. She cannot freeze time like Sailor Pluto but she can slow time. Slow it down enough to collect everyone's starseeds. If she has everyone's starseeds, she can harness their powers. She will also need the key Sailor Pluto discussed that was used to change the Timeline. Surely Chaos could find a way to exist.
Sailor Cosmos grabs her staff and heads for the time streams. She can't waste any more time.
Princess Kakyuu is alarmed to learn Sailor Star Protector and Sailor Star Creator were the only ones to return. She summoned them immediately. She tries to remain calm while she waits for them to arrive. Her foot subconsciously taps under the table. She still has piles of documents in front of her she must review but she can't focus on any of the text. It seems unimportant. A knock on her door redirects her attention. "Come in."
Sailor Star Protector and Sailor Star Creator enter the room visibly upset. "What has happened? Where is Sailor Star Destroyer?"
"Chaos took her starseed," Sailor Star Protector blurts out as tears fall freely from her eyes.
"Chaos?" Princess Kakyuu jumps to her feet in alarm. "Where is Chaos?"
"It has taken the form of Sailor Cosmos." Sailor Star Creator rubs the other senshi's back to try to comfort her. She was still shaken by everything that occurred.
"Are you sure it was the Guardian?" Princess Kakyuu asks in disbelief. She has to have some type of confirmation they identified her correctly. She suspected Sailor Moon might be the Guardian. If Chaos has gained control of Sailor Moon, Chaos could be unstoppable.
"She had an eight pointed star. We think is the same girl from Earth Fighter has told us about Maker and Healer also seemed to know her well."
Princess Kakyuu struggles to swallow as she feels a lump forming in her throat. "What did her hair look like?" There was no mistaken the hairstyle. She hopes they are wrong.
"Some sort of pigtails but at the top it was tied in a heart shaped knot. It was very long and white."
Sailor Moon has long blonde hair and a round knot on top of her hair. Could she have changed so much? Princess Kakyuu fists shakes as she asks one final question; one that would confirm everything. "What did Fighter call her?"
"Umm… it was weird… Oda…Odaiba? Odaki?" I can't remember."
"Odango."
"Yes! That was it."
Princess Kakyuu shakes her head in sadness. "Send word to Sailor Galaxia immediately. The other senshi in training are not ready for this. Their starseeds will be taken immediately, giving Chaos more power."
Setsuna and Yui spend the next hour discussing Pluto's, Neptune's, and Uranus' trip to Nemesis. Yui explained to the group the role of the Moon Senshi and how they helped the Silver Millennium from afar and protected the crown Princess of their respected planets.
"But Venus doesn't have any Moons…" Minako points out. "How can there be a Moon Senshi to protect that planet?"
"Some planets have many Moons and it is a high honor for them to be chosen to protect a Crown Princess, even if they are from another planet's moon. Well, that is the short version of it."
"So…. We're surrounded by Princesses?" Yaten asks looking around the room at the other senshi. "I thought you were just senshi."
"We still have a lot to learn about this star system…" Seiya adds in surprise. "Now that we have additional help… what do we do next?" He wanted to have some type of a plan for what they would do when they see Usagi next.
"Until she returns to Earth… there isn't much we can do. She is too fast. We cannot keep up with her. To give you an idea, she could easily reach Kinmoku from here in a less than an hour." Setsuna continues to stress her abilities. "Even though a part of her is still Usagi-chan… you can't take this lightly. None of us can."
Everyone is silent. Seiya shifts uncomfortably on the pillow. Kinmoku to Earth could easily take a day and it is exhausting. How could anyone travel that fast?
"There is one more person we can call upon for help." Yui speaks up. "We only recently learned she is still alive."
"She has a lot of anger directed at the Silver Millennium. I don't think it is wise." Setsuna argues against the idea.
Yui shakes her head in disagreement. "It is only because she believes her brother is dead. She blames the Silver Millennium for his death. If she knew he was alive, it could be a lot different."
"Who are you talking about?" Rei questions. She immediately recalls the vision of King Endymion standing next to what she believes is a new sailor senshi. Could this be the same? She is fairly certain the eight senshi she had seen were the Moon Senshi.
Setsuna sighs, she knows Yui has a point and the other senshi was already revealed in the other time line. "We recently discovered there are actually two starseeds assigned to Earth."
"Two?" Makoto echoes. "I thought there is only one starseed per planet."
"Not necessarily," Taiki interjects as he pieces things together. "But continue…"
"The first starseed is Mamoru-san. The second one is for Sailor Earth, who we recently learned is still alive." Setsuna turns to face Mamoru. "She is your sister Mamoru-san from the time of the Silver Millennium. We assumed she perished when Queen Beryl attacked the Golden Kingdom."
"Sister…" Mamoru slowly repeats. It was so much to take in at once.
"We will need you to come with us to get her. She won't believe us if we told her you're alive."
"Where are we going?"
"Boston."
Mamoru couldn't believe he was already back on campus just as afternoon classes were ending. Setsuna, Yui, and himself traveled here rather quickly. The new eternal powers were astounding. He looks at the faces that pass but he has no idea what she looks like.
Setsuna and Yui scan the faces as they walk by. Setsuna pauses when she sees Ayumi leaning against a tree in the distance with a textbook and notebook in her lap. She is writing notes with a pen. She turns to Mamoru and Yui. "Wait here for a moment."
Setsuna slowly approaches her and kneels down on the grass across from her.
Ayumi's head snaps up at the sudden movement. She doesn't recognize the woman with long emerald hair sitting across from her. "Can I help you with something?"
Setsuna knows she doesn't have time and needs to be as direct as she can. "I'm glad I found Sailor Earth."
Ayumi's eyes immediately narrow. "I don't know what you are talking about. You must have me mistaken for someone else." She tries to play off Setsuna's comments and pretends to go back to her studies.
Setsuna realizes she has to take a different approach. "Princess Rosalina, your brother was reincarnated after the battle at Silver Millennium."
That statement grabbed Ayumi's full attention. She puts her pen down. "Who are you?"
"Sailor Pluto," The symbol of Pluto glows briefly on her forehead for a moment moments to emphasize her claim. The symbol quickly vanished.
"The Senshi of Time." Ayumi comments in surprise. Her focus then turns to her brother being reincarnated. "How long ago? Where is Endymion?"
"Everyone was reincarnated a little over twenty years ago. But I have to warn you, when everyone was reincarnated, they received limited memories of their past, primarily the night of attack."
"So you're saying he might not know me." Ayumi questions in dismay.
"Yes."
"You said everyone…even Serenity?"
Setsuna nods her head. "He is here now."
Ayumi gasps. "Where?" She immediately scans the surrounding area. She freezes when she notices a tall man with black hair standing next to a medium height woman with short black hair half tided back in a bun like Setsuna. Her eyes focus on the man. He is too far away for her to confirm if he is Endymion. She pauses. This is too easy. "Why are you suddenly showing up and telling me this. What is the catch?"
"We only just learned that you are alive." Setsuna attempts to explain. "The Earth is also in grave danger."
Ayumi smirks. "Of course there is a catch. Why do you need me?"
"The enemy won't suspect it."
"Who is the enemy?"
"Chaos has taken control of Princess Serenity." Setsuna pauses after she says the name. She isn't ready to call her Queen again and everything in this timeline is used to her being the Princess. Setsuna also knows hearing that name will have an effect on Ayumi. She assumes Ayumi is just as angry at the Princess that she was during the Silver Millennium. Somethings did not change between the two different time lines.
Ayumi's eyebrow twitches when she hears that name. "Why should I help her?"
"Because she is Endymion's wife." It is a true statement for this timeline right now. Setsuna knows she has to recruit Sailor Earth as quickly as possible. After she comes back with them, she can eventually learn the entire truth. But right now they need her power. She can't explain the details that would enrage Ayumi at this time.
"His wife…" Ayumi whispers. "Well…. I guess he's happy then and got what he always wanted. We do have a lot of catch up on."
Setsuna gestures over to Yui and Mamoru to approach.
Yui turns to Mamoru, "Are you ready for this?"
"How can anyone really be ready for this?" Mamoru asks her in disbelief. "I'm about to meet a sister I didn't know I had until about an hour ago."
"Either way, it's now or never." Yui begins to walk over toward Setsuna and Ayumi. Mamoru slowly follows behind, trying to think of any other memories he has of his previous life. He can only remember the final battle against Queen Beryl. He does not have any memories of his life on Earth with his parents. He didn't even know what his home looked like or where it was. The shorter the distance becomes, the more he doesn't know what to say to her.
Ayumi walks forward. It is as if time is passing slowly. She pictures the last time she seen him. She was yelling at him not to go to the Silver Millennium to warn them. His place was on Earth, protecting his home. But he didn't listen; he wanted to follow his heart. It isn't until they are only a few meters apart; Ayumi is finally able to clearly see his face. There was no mistaking who it was. She rushes forward to hug him.
Mamoru is surprised by Ayumi's sudden movement as she rushes over to him. He stands there frozen still not quite sure how he should react.
"Endymion…." Ayumi whispers, her voice is choked with emotions. She puts her arms around him and hugs him tightly.
Mamoru hugs her back but she is still a stranger to him. "I'm sorry… I don't remember."
"I'm sure it will come back to you at some point," Ayumi tries to reassures him.
Setsuna waits a few minutes while the two talk before she interrupts. "We need to return to Tokyo and regroup with the other senshi. It is only a matter of time before the Guardian returns."
"Wait… the Guardian? The Guardian is a myth." Ayumi dismissed the thought of the Guardian being anything more than a myth.
"She is real. Somehow Usa received receives those abilities. I'm not entirely sure what has happened in the past twenty four hours or so but she has changed. I'm afraid of what will happen next."
Ayumi looks confused at the time. "Usa…?"
"Sorry, when we were reborn we took on new identities."
"Ah. I had to change my name a few times too… apparently in this time and age you're not supposed to live forever." She turns to Setsuna. "Okay. I'll go with you. If you're telling me she awakened as the Guardian and there is some evil controlling her, I have to help my brother." Ayumi is beginning to under the seriousness of the current events. "It sounds like we don't have time to waste. We can always catch up later."
She's stalling and she knows it. She tried to determine where Sailor Galaxia was to stop her but she seems to have gone into hiding or is on Kinmoku. She should just go to Kinmoku and collect Princess Kakyuu's starseed. It would hurt the Starlights greatly. She could also collect the two starseeds for the Starlights in training. But then all of the other retired Starlights are also there. She wouldn't last long on the planet either. She hates having this weakness. But as long as she avoids Kinmoku she has nothing to worry about. Eventually they will have to leave the planet.
Would the senshi try to run to Kinmoku since they know she can't follow them? Impossible. They would be too focused on protecting the Earth. She has to go to Earth to collect the starseeds. With the combined power from everyone's starseeds it should be enough to be able to manipulate time how she wanted. It couldn't be that hard to control.
She has done all she can to delay the movement of time. It is her biggest adversary. There wasn't much else she could do but return to Earth. Sailor Cosmos turns toward the direction of Earth and slow begins to journey back from star systems beyond Kinmoku. She never imaged just how many planets and universes were in existence. Many in habituated but without senshi. She spared their lives for now. She needs pure starseeds and knows where she must go to obtain many.
While she travels she reflects on the best way to get everyone's attention. An attack would be simple enough. Knowing the senshi, they would be gathered at Rei's shrine. The same location Chaos originally surfaced. She wants something a little more personal. Juban High School? Regardless of what timeline she was from, they already graduated. How many times has she battle them in the park? The park. Where Usagi first kissed Seiya and led the groundwork to being able to gain control of Usagi's body when she became uncertain of her feelings. Perfect.
Haruka opens her eyes and blinks several times before she realizes she is in Rei's shrine. She sits up and stretches her arms over her head. If she is here that means it wasn't a dream and everything happened. Usagi was controlled by Chaos. Michiru is sound asleep next her. She is in a room full of strangers. She has known them for only a matter of hours but they are supposed to be some of their closest allies.
She knows she needs to sleep longer but it is futile. With one final sigh, she stands up and quietly leaves the room to find the others.
She finds Rei first but she is sitting in front of the Great Fire chanting.
Walking further down the hallway, she hears more voices. After a moment she recognizes them as Minako, Makoto, and Hotaru. Haruka stands in the doorway for a moment. "Where is Setsuna-san?"
"She went to Boston with Mamoru-san and Yui-chan. There is another senshi there," Minako begins to explain but is cut off by Haruka.
"Another one? Just how many more are around us that we don't know about?" She crosses her arms against her chest, frustrated Setsuna has kept all of this information from them.
"Apparently Mamoru-san has a sister, Sailor Earth." Minako is finally able to finish.
"Sister… huh?" Haruka slowly repeats, absorbing the new information. She sits down next to Hotaru. "What else happened?"
"Setsuna-san told us about the alternative timeline Sailor Cosmos mentioned. It is rather different." Hotaru looks down at the table, unable to look back up at Haruka. "I can't imagine a world where Chibi Usa-chan does not exist."
Haruka doesn't verbally respond and instead rubbed the back of Hotaru's shoulder in support. "There has to be something we can do."
Makoto shakes her head. "It sounds like Sailor Pluto already tried to fix everything but it back fired and Chaos returned. Setsuna-san seems to think we can defeat Chaos but it will be a difficult battle. We need the Starlight's help."
Haruka's eyes narrow at the mention of the Starlights. "I'm going to kill him." She abruptly stands up to leave the room.
"It's not his fault!" Makoto jumps to her feet to challenge her. "What happened in the other timeline, Seiya-kun has done nothing wrong. He has been on Kinmoku this entire time. You can't blame an alternative version of himself for this."
"Watch me." Haruka starts to move past Makoto.
Minako looks up at her angry friends. "We all want someone to blame but blaming each other isn't going to help us stop Usagi-chan." Her statement silences the two women. "You know we are going to need all the help we can get." Her voice grows softer. "It is not going to be easy to stop Sailor Cosmos and we have to work together or everyone is going to lose their starseeds." She whispers quietly. "What if we need Seiya-kun to save Usagi-chan?"
Haruka clenches her fists together recalling everything she and Michiru had to do trying to stop Sailor Galaxia to the point of taking Sailor Pluto and Sailor Saturn's starseeds. "For the sake of the Princess." She finally agrees. "But if he does something after this, that is another story."
"After it ends, this world as we know it will not exist anymore." Hotaru forces herself to keep her tears in check. "Unless we can find a way to save Crystal Tokyo along the way, we will never see Chibi Usa-chan." She pauses, trying to remain optimistic. "I'm sure there is way."
Seiya sat on the engawa outside of a side entrance to the shrine. He needs a little time to be by himself to process everything he learned today. He couldn't believe there is another timeline where he is with Usagi. Setsuna struggled with even stating they were in relationship. Something he had always wondered if it was possible within the past six years. He had always figured it was impossible because he didn't meet her earlier.
This alternative time line Setsuna spoke of didn't sound too bad to him, eventually. Kinmoku sounded stable, this battle against Chaos would already be behind him, and most importantly he would have Usagi. Setsuna wouldn't comment other than Usagi chose him. What that entailed… he could only guess.
He can't help but be somewhat anxious waiting for time to revert back to what it was. The thought of this gave him such a sense of hope and he tries to hide a smile. The fact that Usagi did chose him… he is good enough.
He has to steer clear of Haruka, she has always wanted to beat him up and after recent circumstances this would only increase the temptation. Then there is Mamoru. Based on what everyone has said, he has every right to be angry. If their roles were reversed he would be furious.
With a sharp intake of breath, Seiya realizes after some time passes, he will know exactly how Mamoru feels when he starts to regain more of his memories from the alternative timeline. He closes his eyes for a moment. All of the sudden he is sitting on a park bench next to Usagi.
"People have always been telling me what I can and can't do because of who I am now or who I was in a former life. It's like they expect me to be perfect! But you don't…I can't handle it anymore…" Usagi said as her voice grew very quiet. She leaned in closer to him, her lips inches from his and they brush again his.
Seiya eyes snapped open. That never happened but it felt like somehow it was an actual event. He looks around the shrine to make sure Usagi is not present. It was all in his head. He rubs the back of his head for a moment until it hits him, could that have been a previous memory from the alternative timeline returning to him?
As he continues to sit there, he can't help but wonder what other memories he might come across. Based on what he heard earlier, they were in a relationship, how serious was it? Isn't she going to be conflicted with being married to Mamoru?
This was beginning to become too much for him to try to process at the moment. Nothing of this should matter at the moment when Usagi is consumed by Chaos. If Chaos isn't defeated, the other timeline doesn't matter if no one is alive to be in it.
He lets out a sigh, trying to think of something, anything that would help Usagi return back to being just Sailor Moon or Sailor Cosmos?
The Legendary Senshi from his star system. The search died out during the Sailor Wars. He never thought Sailor Cosmos would be reincarnated in Usagi. Maybe that is another reason he was attracted the shine in her starseed? He stands to return inside. The longer he sits out here, the more he is going around in circles generating more questions for himself without any answers.
Sailor Cosmos walks over to the bench where Usagi first kissed Seiya; the one single act was all she needed to shatter Usagi, setting the stage for her freedom. She can't help but smile a little bit. A quick glance around the park and she sees couples and families happily spending their time together. She is going to change that. She needs the senshi to show up.
She never grows bored at causing destruction somewhere to flush them out. "Luminous Hail Storm!" Energy erupts from her staff, hitting everything and anyone in its way.
Women scream and scramble to get away. Some of the men pull at them to get them to move when they become frozen in place in fear.
Their terror excites Sailor Cosmos as they flee. It is only a matter of time until the senshi will show up. She walks over to the bench and sits down. She casts some more explosive energy in the area to gain their attention. She rather have them come to her then she go to them.
When they don't appear after roughly ten minutes, she kicks it up a notch by discharging more energy in the air and unleashing an attack on another section of the now vacant park. She returns to the bench to wait, they should be here any minute. She closes her eyes for a few minutes. The corners of her mouth form a smile when she can sense their presence. She opens her eyes and is taken aback for a moment at the number of senshi before her. Sixteen senshi. Starlights, Moon Senshi, most of the Inner and Outer Senshi. She immediately notices Sailor Pluto and Sailor Charon are absent. As is Tuxedo Kamen. She shrugs it off there are still plenty of starseeds she can collect.
Sailor Star Fighter blinks a few times at her surroundings. It is identical to the park she had seen earlier at the shrine. This is where the kiss happened. Her eyes soften a little as she looks at Sailor Cosmos sitting on the same bench. Is this some kind of sign? She wants to say something, anything but her mind won't form the words correctly.
Sailor Cosmos catches on to the expression on Sailor Star Fighter's face. She laughs lightly and looks directly at her. "I take you have received some memories back from the alternative timeline."
Sailor Star Fighter does not verbally respond but her eyes widened slightly.
The other senshi near Sailor Star Fighter turn to look at her and then back to Sailor Cosmos, wordlessly.
"This is where it all started, the moment that fractured Usagi and made it easy for Chaos to break free the first time. I guess I should be thanking you." She stands up. "Hmm… maybe I'll take your starseed last."
"What is she talking about?" Sailor Star Maker asks her teammate.
"I…" Sailor Star Fighter still can't put the flash of memory into complete words. A moment so private she doesn't want to share with the others.
Sailor Cosmos laughs even louder. "There is nothing be embarrassed! Surely you remember Usagi kissing you by now!"
The look of horror the other senshi's faces lead to another round of laughter from Sailor Cosmos.
"I'm going to kill him," Sailor Uranus takes a few steps forward to Sailor Star Fighter. "You are to blame for all this!"
"I didn't do anything!" Sailor Star Fighter shouts back in anger, snapping out her daze.
Sailor Neptune grabs Sailor Uranus hand. "Now is not the time Haruka. Settle this later."
Sailor Uranus glares at Sailor Neptune for stopping her.
Sailor Star Maker and Sailor Star Healer take a few steps forward and stand in front of Fighter in case Sailor Uranus did decide to attack her.
Sailor Cosmos smiles at the turmoil it has caused. The senshi starseeds she really wants are not present but she will settle for another powerful senshi that if not dealt with soon, will cause danger.
All of the distraction gave Sailor Saturn time to attack. She is following Sailor Pluto's instructions. Her new attack she had never used until this moment. "Saturn Death Reborn Revolution!" Ribbons of black and purple surround Sailor Cosmos and trapping her into a cocoon shape.
The other senshi are taken aback not sure what to do. They couldn't believe how quickly Sailor Saturn acted.
The ribbons release her and Sailor Cosmos drops to the ground. The mark of Saturn is glowing on her right forearm. She slowly sits up clutching her arm. She grabs her staff and slowly stands back up.
Sailor Saturn gasps. "No one should be able to stand up after such an attack."
Sailor Cosmos' eyes focus on the mark on her forearm. It is pale purple with several small dots underneath it. "You marked this body for death." She laughs. "I didn't think you had it in you." The jewel on her wrist glows softly. She attacks all of the senshi, scattering them. Attacking them at random. She can't let them know what she is really up to. Her eyes widen as she begins to realize the damage Sailor Saturn has done to her abilities. She's significantly weaker. Is it temporary or permanent? She has to remove this mark.
When Sailor Saturn realizes a blast is directed at her, she puts her glaive in front of her to try to protect herself but the energy shots to the side unexpectedly, "Silent Wa-" She is unable to finish her command as the energy slams into her back. Her attack moments ago consumed too much of her energy and she couldn't properly defend herself. She screams and falls forward. She can feel her energy being drained as a flower appears above her broch and a purple starseed floats up. She tries to catch the starseed to force it back but she is already too weak.
Sailor Cosmos flicks her finger slightly and the starseed shoots over to her. She laughs with the starseed between her fingers before turning to look at Sailor Saturn. "You thought it would be that simple? Mark me for death and that would be the end of it?" With another flick of her wrist the starseed vanishes and the mark of Saturn on her arm fades to a pale outline. "Much better." Sailor Cosmos smiles brightly. "Setsuna-san must have given you that plan but she didn't anticipate you losing your starseed so fast."
"How could you do that? Sailor Titian yells at Sailor Cosmos. "We are supposed to be working together not fighting each other!" She rushes to her fallen Princess to try to do something to help. She doesn't fully understand what has happened. Sailor Saturn is fading away before her eyes while the other senshi stand there stunned.
"How could you do that to Hotaru-chan?" Sailor Uranus voice is unsteady while her talisman appears in her hands. She takes a step forward, eying Sailor Cosmos closely.
"I thought you would understand Haruka-san. You always take out your biggest threats first. And out of everyone standing here, I chose my target." Sailor Cosmos's voice is cold and calculating. She smirks. "Who are you to complain about Hotaru-chan's starseed being taken? You took her starseed."
"What have you become?" Sailor Uranus fist shakes slightly, trying to keep her rage in check. "Where is our Princess?"
Sailor Cosmos smiles. "Princess? Hardly." She shifts to Princess Serenity for a few moments and laughs. "Is this better?" She laughs again before she shifts back to Sailor Cosmos. She ignores the light headiness she feels. The power Saturn took from her should return any moment. She has to keep distracting the senshi, don't give them a chance to attack her at once.
Sailor Uranus can't listen to this anymore. "Uranus Space Turbulence!" She has to protect the Earth at this moment; Sailor Cosmos is the biggest threat. She needs to be weakened somehow to come back to her senses.
Sailor Cosmos deflects the attack with a yawn.
Sailor Mars looks over at Sailor Venus and they both nod their heads.
"Venus Rolling Heart Vibration!
"Mars Snake Fire!"
Sailor Cosmos seems less interested in their attack that she had in Sailor Uranus. "If one attack from a senshi from the outer system barely causes me to do anything why would two attacks from Inner planets, the weaker planets do anything?' Without a word, she whipped energy at them.
Sailor Star Fighter can't believe what she is witnessing. The arrogance of Sailor Cosmos reminded her of when Sailor Galaxia sat on her throne barely flitching when she was attacked. "Odango stop this!" She finally finds her voice, the madness needs to end.
Sailor Cosmos pauses to look at Sailor Star Fighter. "Stop what? I'm merely finishing what I started years ago." She smirks.
"Princess Serenity, why are working alongside Chaos?" Sailor Callisto asks, stepping forward. She is finally piecing everything together. "Senshi protect everyone, not cause destruction."
Sailor Cosmos laughs loudly. "I know you have been enclosed inside crystal for over a millennium but you can't actually believe that? Did you forget what you and the Moon Senshi did on Nemesis?"
Sailor Callisto' face pales but she does not respond.
"That is not the same!" Sailor Ganymede shouts, her anger flaring up. "We were following orders from your mother to protect the Silver Millennium."
Sailor Cosmos rolls her eyes before responding. "Stop trying to justify your actions. I can't stand it when someone won't take accountability for what they have done."
"What happened was wrong, it just took us a while to realize it," Sailor Phobos comments, drawing Sailor Cosmos' attention to her. "All of us have made mistakes in our lives and it is important we learn from them so they are not repeated in the future."
Sailor Cosmos snickers. "I agree. I've learned from Galaxia's past mistakes and it is only a matter of time until I collect all of your starseeds."
"Lighting Strike!"
The attack does not phase Sailor Cosmos. "You still haven't learned anything. Let me show you what true power looks like." She points her staff at several of the Moon Senshi "Starlight Breaker!"
They barely had any time to dodge, while the Moon Senshi scramble to avoid the energy, Sailor Cosmos' bracelet flashes as another wave of energy is released at the Senshi.
Sailor Ganymede collapses and falls forward. All of the wind was knocked out of her.
"No!" Sailor Callisto shouts rushing to her side. She grabs her hand and holds it tightly to try to comfort her on some level.
"She is too powerful," Sailor Ganymede murmurs as her body glows bright gold for a moment before it begins to fade. "Everyone has to work together with a plan…" She closes her eyes one final time before she disappears.
Sailor Umbriel fists shake. "We can't keep standing here doing nothing. If all us don't work together, she going to keep picking us off one by one."
"Finally something we can agree on," Sailor Star Healer speaks up. She had been waiting for a chance to attack but nothing presented itself.
"Oh? Can all of you really put your differences aside? I figured most of you would still be upset with the Starlights and their role in helping to free Chaos." Sailor Cosmos grins evilly, stirring the pot again. "But I am growing bored of this." She raises her staff to attack again but doesn't get the chance.
"Destiny Spinster!"
"Pluto Chronos Typhoon!"
"Gaia Maelstrom!"
Sailor Cosmos takes a few steps backward, "Brilliant Barricade!" She puts up a shield movements before all three of the attacks collided with the protective wall. Her eyes narrow. If they all begin to attack at her once she will take damage. She was able to play off their confusion and reluctance to attack her but Pluto and Charon will not hesitate as much as the others. They know exactly what they are up against.
"Let us help you Usa."
Sailor Cosmos' heart quickened at the sound of his voice. The pain projected in those five words. She can feel her resolve waiver for a moment as Usagi continues to struggle against her. Usagi has been fighting her this entire time and seems to be making some process. But Sailor Cosmos can't show any kind of weakness. She turns to face Pluto, "You brought this upon yourself."
"Repairing the timeline had some unforeseen consequences but I couldn't just let you throw away everything like you had during the Silver Millennium when you followed Endymion into death. There was a time you rather die than live without him." Sailor Pluto tries to reach the part of the Sailor Cosmos that is also Princess Serenity.
Sailor Cosmos's eyes flicker for a moment.
Endymion immediately notices the change. "Serenity," he pleads, trying to help her come to her senses. "Things can go back to way they were."
"You mean back to a time when Usagi was miserable? To be in a time that is not her own and tries everything she can to leave this time and return to her true time?" She struggles with staying in control. Usagi is fitting Chaos with everything she has.
"Miserable? Before this previous month, I've never seen you so happy in either lifetime." Endymion takes a few steps closer to her. "I know you are in there somewhere Usa."
Sailor Cosmos takes another step back trying to put more distance between herself and Endymion, nearly tripping over herself in the process. She can feel tears form in her eyes. But Chaos doesn't cry.
"Everyone…" Sailor Cosmos said softly, tears in her eyes. "Do you what you have to stop Chaos. It will stop at nothing until it has everyone's starseeds!" She wipes a few tears from her eyes and takes a few steps back.
"Serenity…" Prince Endymion takes a few steps toward her with his hand extended.
"No… stay back! I don't want to hurt you! I don't want to hurt anyone!" Sailor Cosmos shouts. The bracelets on her wrists flash for a moment as if they are about to discharge energy.
"Stop Chaos now, while I'm in control! End it!" She shouts with tears streaming down her face. "I can't let this go on hurting everyone! I can't go through this again!" She pleads with them to essentially take her life. "Please…." she whispers looking her head.
The pain in Sailor Cosmos' voice is heartbreaking to the senshi.
"Usagi…" Sailor Mars looks away.
None of the senshi can look at her, or follow through with her plea.
"No Usa. We will find a way to save you."
Sailor Cosmos raises her head, tears no longer falling from her eyes. "You missed your chance!" She twists her staff in front of her. "Divine Stardust!" Energy erupts from her staff launching at the senshi in front of her. She laughs as they try to dodge out of the way before she disappears. She can't risk remaining here anymore. Between Usagi temporary regarding control and Sailor Saturn draining her power, she needs to rest.
Can the senshi work together despite their anger? Are they willing to attack Usagi/Sailor Cosmos? What else are they going to remember?
Next act to be released on Wednesday, November 2nd. Act 52: Fractured Alliances
