Space.

The final frontier of any developed species, and the a cold and unforgiving place where no life could exist outside of the planets. Space was a place with no oxygen, no source of food or water, and nothing that could maintain a carbon based life form, which was why spaceships had been invented.

Just like the spaceship that was currently trying through a space at the moment.

A sleak black spaceship with golden yellow accents across it, and a large 4 point star shaped window at the front of it. The design of the ship itself was close to Manta-ray in design, and was a very well taken care of ship. It had a single passenger on it who was kept safe from the death sentence that was being in space.

The ship's name was Lunatique.

The sole living form in that ship was an assassin named Golden Darkness.

An artificial clone with free shape changing abilities who currently used those abilities to make money for herself by killing anyone who she was paid to kill. Her body was designed with killing in mind, her height being a shorter, but overall universal average, of 153 cm for a petite female. Golden hair that reached nearly all the way down to her feet, and black clothes in a similar sleak black design to her ship, with the same 4 point star on her chest to show her small amount of cleavage that her tight black gothic loli outfit gave off, and belts.

Lots of belts on her legs that were tight.

*Beep*

"Strange, Master, I have observed a life sign nearby, but my scanners do not detect any ships in this region of space." Lunatique's AI personality turned itself on, a very halloween face on a screen, that spoke to Golden Darkness as she sat in the control chair of the ship. She didn't have any jobs at the moment, so she was just going through space until she could find and reach a planet to refuel at.

This was a dead region of space they were traveling through at the moment.

It was a shortcut.

"Impossible, without a ship no life can survive space. You should check your scanners, and we'll have them fixed the next time we refuel." Golden Darkness stated, not believing what her ship was telling her. Not even she could survive in space without a suit, or a ship to serve as life support. At most she could survive a few minutes without a suit by holding her breath and using her transformation powers to make her body more durable, or to give herself a suit that.

A suit registered on radar though.

*Beep*

"Heartbeat still being detected, carbon based life force is in the immediate vicinity."

"Impossible, take us to where you detect this." Golden Darkness stated, if only to prove that there was nothing there. Her ship changed directions, and though she felt no change inside of the ship, she saw as it started to head towards where it detected a heartbeat. It only took seconds for them to reach where the heartbeat was detected.

Golden Darkness blinked, and scrunched her eyes up.

A humanoid life force.

Just floating in space, with severe damage to it's clothing. She brought her ship in closer, so that the life form was only meters away from the window of her ship. The life form was a man, a humanoid looking man with the same kind of body structure as herself. 2 arms, 2 legs, a head on top, and skin instead of fur, with golden hair on top of his head. His clothing was a black jacket over orange pants, though half of his jacket had been destroyed, and large chunks of his pants had been torn to shreds as well. He was clearly alive though, since he was breathing and his chest was moving.

"How?" Golden Darkness looked at him breathing.

He was unconscious for starters, and he was surviving in the depths of space without a suit, and he was breathing in space as if there were oxygen. It was impossible for her to imagine that without a suit. His body had no wounds on it, none visible with the naked eye at least. She didn't know how long he had been in space though, but if he was in the dead region of space, it would have had to have been a long time.

He seemed somewhat close to her in age.

He was maybe 19, where as she was only a few years younger than him.

His eyes opened and when he ship nudged him, and he grabbed the side of his head as he woke up. He had been asleep it would seem, and now that he was awake, he noticed her inside of her ship and blinked. He stared at her as they made eye contact, as if he was registering the fact that somebody was right in front of him. His mouth started to move, but because of her ship being in the way, she couldn't hear him at all.

She raised a finger to stop him.

-Moments Later-

"Thanks, I've been out there for like 5 months, and you're the first person I've seen in this... place."

"I have many questions." Golden Darkness stated when he entered her ship, and he thanked her for picking him up. She would drop him off at the nearest planet that could support life, but she had to question many things just about his initial statement. For starters, he had been floating in space for "like" 5 months. "How could you breath out there?" Golden Darkness started with her very first question.

He stopped.

"Uzumaki Naruto is my name, lets start off with introductions first. What's yours?" Naruto looked down at her. and she noticed that there was aound a 30 cm difference in their heights, with her height being much shorter than his own.

His visible body was built with powerful muscle on a lean frame.

It had to be powerful, since he withstood the vacuum of space, the incredible heats and colds of the harsh region of the universe, and he seemed perfectly okay.

"Golden Darkness." Golden Darkness answered, and she paused so that he could answer her question.

"I just breathed like I normally do, I don't understand the question. Do you have something to eat or drink... I'm starving." Naruto looked at his bandaged up right arm.

It was made of Hashirama cells.

Those with Hashirama cells on their bodies could go years and years without the need for food or water, it was how Obito and Madara were able to survive their years away from society in a cave after all. The lack of NEED for food though didn't mean you didn't get hungry or thirsty, just because your body didn't require it.

"You can't breath in space."

"Well, cool, but I did..." Naruto watched as Golden Darkness retrieved a small package that could fit in her hand, and a single wrapped bar of some kind of food, and she gave it to him. He opened the bar, took a bite, and found the taste to be extremely bland. He drank from the drink package, and found that it was water, and still somehow had more flavor that the food bar that she gave to him. Still, with how much his stomach had shrank due to 5 months of not eating at all, it was enough to satisfy his empty stomach. "Thanks for picking me up... stuff got kind of intense, and I thought I would be floating through space until I died of old age." Naruto sighed in relief.

He would have hated that.

It would have sucked, because it was hot and cold in space, but neither of those were enough to really cause him harm. He had been frozen solid before and survived, and he had been hit with those who spewed lava before, and survived that as well. He was just immune to heat and cold as far as the experience out there was concerned. Surviving in that until he died of old age would be a nightmare scenerio for anyone.

He flew around space, but everywhere he went, there was no life at all.

"Okay." Golden Darkness would just have to accept it.

He could breath in space and survive without food or water for extended periods of time, and from how much of his body she could see, it was clear that his body was more than durable enough to withstand space. She wondered if maybe his body had some kind of system that allowed him to make his own oxygen inside of his body, and recycle his carbon dioxide. If that were the case, it would make sense for him to be able to survive.

"Do you have any clothes I can borrow, mine kind of got damaged?" Naruto figured it would be a long shot.

When the moon he was on was teleported to this dimension and exploded, all of his friends had died, but he had survived the explosion and healed from the wounds he got quickly. His clothes on the other hand didn't regenerate like he did.

"I do not have any." Golden Darkness stated.

"That's a shame then, do you have a shower then... I could really use a hot shower." Naruto requested, since 5 months without a shower would normally have you stink, but since he had been in space for so long, but sweat just floated off of his body and didn't stick to him, but he still felt nasty.

Golden Darkness started to lead the way to her shower without another word said.

She stood outside of it when he went in, and her ship turned the shower on for him. She could hear the water running, but she still had plenty of questioned that needed answers.

"How did you get to this part of space, did your space ship explode?" Golden Darkness questioned him loud enough through the water and door.

"No space ship, this isn't my home dimension. I was born in a different dimension, I was fighting some asshole on a moon. Then, after I defeated the bastard the people on my planet launched a weapon that teleported the moon to a different dimension to blow it up." Naruto KNEW that he should have had Kurama write "mission complete" on the surface of the moon, but Kurama mentioned that his handwriting was terrible, so he decided against the idea. "Boom, and then I was here floating in space for 5 months. All my friends who were with me were killed in the explosion, and I'll bet that all the people on my home planet think I'm dead too." Naruto sighed in annoyance.

He had 5 months to mourn his situation.

He had 5 months to mourn his losses and move on, but even after being rescued he knew that he didn't really have a home to go back to.

"So you're homeless, and you're strong?" Golden Darkness asked him with her eyebrows raising up. If he was strong enough to fight on a moon and survive it exploding, then his strength had to be next level. Seeing as he was breathing and surviving in space, and her ship was currently running a scan on his body and showing her the results live, she was seeing energy readings in him that were not of this universe, validating his claims that he was from a different reality.

It was hard to believe, but the scans weren't lying, and her own eyes weren't going to lie to her. She had seen him floating in space and breathing as if there were air out there.

"Sure am, are you looking for a sparring match to test yourself or something?" Naruto asked her in return, since that wasn't uncommon in his home. Find a strong opponent and spar with them to test yourself and them. The hot water running down his body felt amazing after months of not showering. "I'm always happy to spar." Naruto stated.

Golden Darkness had to think on that.

'Testing my skills against a person from another dimension sounds like it would benefit me, and I may be able to learn some new combat methods.' Golden Darkness could see some serious benefits to the suggestion. A spar wouldn't be lethal though, and she specialized in killing, not lowering her combat power to that of a nonlethal sparring contest. Also, she couldn't exactly spar on her ship, it would have to be somewhere on a planet with a breathable atmosphere for her to be able to fight at her best with the handicap.

-5 Days Later-

"This planet has a breathable atmosphere."

"Good, I guess." Naruto still didn't know what the hell an atmosphere was, or what made it breathable. He would have been fine stopping at any old planet, and he didn't believe for a second that somebody needed some kind of suit to breath in space. None of his friends had needed suits to breath when they were in space, they were all moving around and breathing just fine. "Okay, come at me whenever you want." Naruto hadn't talked to Golden Darkness much in the last 5 days, other than answer her questions about his culture.

He was a ninja, and she was an assassin.

Naruto watched her move at him while transforming her hand into a blunted sword, her body morphing to take on the shape and properties of a blade. It was blunted to not be lethal, but Naruto treated it like it was dangerous all the same and dodged faster than she could blink. She wasn't able to see his movement speed, but she reacted and started to dodge when he moved towards her. Her reaction was half-instinct, and half actual reaction to movement.

His fist almost became part of her body.

She was quick, but her durability wasn't as impressive as she was quick. So, when his fist started to sink into her gut, he pulled back his punch. She was still lifted off of her feet and knocked clear into the air, with saliva splattering across his arm from the force of his punch. She summoned angel wings out of her back and corrected herself, so that instead of landing on her back, she could land on her feet. Her hand had transformed back into a hand, and she was covering her gut with both arms.

"Hah..." Golden Darkness tried to breath.

All of the air had been forcefully pushed out of her body with that gut punch, and with that one strike alone she could tell what the skill and power difference was between them. Her body had reacted to his movement, but she wasn't fast enough to actually dodge him even if she could react by instinct. She could tell her pulled his punch, so he outclassed her in strength as well. He easily reached to her attack, dodged at the perfect moment to prevent her from reacting to him faster. She had a large bruise forming where his fist had gotten her, though he didn't break any of her bones or rupture any organs. He made sure to not do more than bruise her.

'Okay... so going at him with nonlethal intent will hold me back too much... time to go at him like he's my target.' Golden Darkness turned the ends of her long hair into blades, and stretched it long, growing her hair to cross the distance between herself and Naruto. Her blades phased through his body though, and his body vanished as if he were never there. "Afterimag-" Golden Darkness had put actual killing intent behind those attacks, but before she could finish saying what she was seeing, she saw a shadow on the ground behind her.

Naruto had his hand outstretched.

While her hair was still extended to where he had been standing, he had gotten behind her, snuck into her blind spot, and now his palm was resting on the back of her neck. He grabbed her by the neck, lifted her up, before he swung her down and slammed her into the sand below them. He then dragged her through the sand, before lifting her out and throwing her like a ragdoll. She pulled all of her hair back to herself and crossed her arms in front of herself, turning both of them into shields.

He grabbed the edge of the shield, and swung her around before slamming her down into the sand again.

He then punched her shield and broke through it as if it wasn't made of metal, and his fist stopped an inch in front of her nose. She froze in place when she realized his fist had packed enough force behind it that he could have splattered her brains across the desert sands with extreme ease.

The gap between them was incredibly huge.

"Satisfied?" Naruto asked Golden Darkness as he pulled her arm out of her shield, and she transformed her arms back into arms. He extended a hand to her, and helped her back to her feet. Other than a bruised stomach and broken pride, she was unharmed from his attacks. He had excellent control over his strength.

That was the most impressive part.

When he punched her, she could tell he was holding back a LOT of power. The ease in which he could have turned her into blood confetti splattered across the sky was felt by her body. She had never in her life fought against somebody who could treat her like an actual glass doll, something that needed to be treated with care so it wouldn't break. He had enough control over his massive strength to fight a weaker opponent and still be gentle.

His blows packed no intent to kill.

"I am, I have little doubt that you are hiding far more strength than I could ever imagine." Golden Darkness stated with a small huff of annoyance. "You showed no fear towards my blades."

"I was slashed in the face with a sword that cut a moon in half, and it didn't hurt me. Only extremely, extremely rare and sharp blades are actually capable of cutting me these days. So, I'm not really afraid of blades." Naruto didn't mention that his resistant to blades was mostly when he was transformed, but even without transforming he could fight bladed opponents unarmed. Unarmed combat was a specialty of his after all.

Golden Darkness raised an eyebrow.

"... A moon?"

"Yeah, he smacked me in the face with it, and he used the sword and my body to cut through a moon... it really hurt, it didn't injure me, but it hurt." Naruto deadpanned since it was recent in his memory. His fight with Toneri had not been fun, since he had gone into that fight without even being able to use his full power.

Golden Darkness didn't look like she believed him at first.

"That would imply that you could run the distance of a moon within moments if you kept fighting him-" Golden Darkness watched as Naruto RAN into the distance and vanished faster than she could get the words out of her mouth. He ran in a straight line, and she raised an eyebrow once she noticed she couldn't see him at all.

A few minutes passed.

She felt a tap on her shoulder, and glanced behind herself to see Naruto standing there.

"I ran in a straight line, is that fast enough for you?" Naruto wasn't even winded from running around the planet, and she searched his eyes, face, and looked at his hand that was touching her shoulder. He removed his hand, and stepped back. She looked for any deception, any signs that he was lying to her about how fast he claimed to be.

He wasn't lying, or he was VERY good at lying.

"I believe you for now. If you share your training methods, and give me pointers on improving my skills, you can continue to travel with me." Golden Darkness didn't figure he was a bad guy, but she was also now aware that she couldn't cross him. She couldn't just drop him off on some random planet, or treat him with hostility. She could benefit from his experience and techniques. The way he was able to pull his punch showed a high level of skill, a level of skill that she just wasn't able to match.

Actually, she couldn't see the skill gap.

The skill gap between them was too wide for her to get an accurate reading on where she stood with him, so she hoped that training with him would eventually allow her to see how large the gap was.

Finally, her pride.

She got her ass kicked, and that hurt her pride as an assassin. She didn't want to just let that go, to feel a one sided beating wasn't her style.

-3 Weeks Later-

'She really isn't that talkative.' Naruto didn't have much in the way of conversations with Golden Darkness, though he did get a book about the unique plants in the universe, and on the last stop they made he got a few potted plants to bring onto the ship to add a bit of color and the scent of good plants to the ship to liven things up.

She may ask him a few questions, but their conversations didn't last a really long time, and when she was doing assassin work, he just kind of walked around the planet and picked up a plant or two while she went and killed people. Just because he was a ninja didn't mean he wanted to help her kill people, so he just wasn't that interested in helping her with murder.

"You really like plants." Golden Darkness pointed out.

"I do, a lot. I've always considered myself a seed that would grow into a flower, and I've always wanted a home with a garden. Back at my apartment, I had a good number of potted ferns and flowers. I like gardening." Naruto stated, since it was pretty common knowledge among his friends. The only one who shared a similar hobby to himself was Gaara, who liked to take care of cacti. Hinata liked to press flowers, but she was neutral to actually having a garden. "I really like some of these flowers in this book. A ton of them have these strange abilities, I would love to have some." Naruto was enjoying reading what he could from the book.

He had to learn to read an alien language, but a few shadow clones to help with studying made it go quickly enough.

The first time Golden Darkness had seen him use Shadow Clones, she looked like she was surprised.

"A seed that would grow into a flower... quite poetic."

"Well, even when other people said I was a loser, I always saw potential in myself. I had big dreams... and it's been almost 6 months since I got to his universe, and 5 of those months were spent... floating in space. So, I want to check out the cool plants in this universe, sue me." Naruto looked away from her with crossed arms. She raised an eyebrow, but she was going through the messages she had gotten while she was asleep.

Jobs.

Requests to assassinate the King of Deviluke were ignored, because she wasn't strong enough to assassinate that man. He was out of her league, even in his current weakened state his security and life were worth more than what people were willing to pay her.

"Earth... a human... hmmmm."

"Earth?" Naruto asked with his eyebrows shooting up.

"You know it?"

"My planet was called Earth in my home universe, so I was just surprised to hear you say it." Naruto mentioned, since he hadn't expected to her his home world leave her mouth, though he was sure it was just a big coincidence that the planets shared the same name across universes.

Should he tell Golden Darkness her panties were showing right now?

From the way she was sitting, she was giving him a view right up her skirt and at her panties riding between the cheeks of her ass. He could even see the wrinkle at the front that may, or may not, be cameltoe due to her getting a front wedgie. Naruto turned around and looked away with pinkish cheeks, since he didn't want to get yelled at for pointing out her exposed underwear while she was looking through her emails.

"Well, I've got a high paying job to assassinate some boy on Earth who is engaged to the first princess of Deviluke... I'm going to contact the client and get some information." Golden Darkness stated, and Naruto knew what that meant. She had a reputation as a lone wolf, so he stood up and walked out of the room so that she could keep her image intact.

Naruto passed by one of Lunatiques screens.

"Uzumaki, on the next planet, can you pick up more flowers, they make my interior more pleasant for Master to breath in."

"Sure thing Lune." Naruto saluted the AI program.

The air recycling on the ship was fine, but nothing beat that freshness that came from having plants around you.

Plants were just super nice.
