So here is the next chapter don't have much to say but to further implore you readers to try to pester the mods to do something about these Bot Farms I don't know how many more accounts I can ban!
It seemed questioning about Buttercup's mutation worked like a charm because rather than answer any of Jonathan's questions Dr. Fleischer said "I'll send you the medicine and other supplies right away."
And with that he hung up and Jonathan gave a bit of a chuckle as he handed the phone back to Buttercup.
"I think there is a very good reason why you trust me My Dear Buttercup…" He said "...Your adoptive father is very similar in that he was dealing with experiments that others would claim are 'unethical' but how else is science to push the boundaries of current knowledge?"
"What do you mean?" Buttercup asked not really offended just genuinely not knowing what Jonathan meant as painful as the experiments on the lab animals were, Buttercup was taught to understand that the were perfectly standard under the field of toxicology...Which she understood was the experiment that caused her mutation when they injected the mysterious 'blue goo' into her when she was just a piglet.
"I have reasons to suspect your Father didn't tell you everything about your creation My Dear Sow…" Jonathan said
Eager to change the subject Buttercup said "Can we call the Riddler now?"
"After I've gotten the medicine and healed up a little…" Jonathan grunted as he lay back down on his pillow "...I don't want you and your friends to face him alone as he can be rather viscous to those who just annoy him depending on how irritable he's feeling that day and I'm not calling him from your phone as he will not recognize your number but he will have it memorized I don't want him to be able to contact you just yet."
"So you Arkham Rogues all have each other on Speed Dial?" Buttercup asked
"More or less…" Jonathan sighed "...Those like Nygma are more tech savvy with these kinds of things but obviously we can all contact each other when we get out of Arkham you never know when one of gets the inspirational urge for some collaboration!"
Buttercup was beginning to get the sense that Jonathan seemed to have a soft spot for girls and young women and that he had come to see her as a young woman even if she didn't have a drop of human blood in her veins! It was the fact she acted human regardless of what she looked like and despite the fact she knew he was a criminal Buttercup could already tell Jonathan was more 'reasonable' when it came to Mutant Animals than other human beings her Father warned her about the reasons she had been a shut-in most of her life having to hide from the world that would not understand her...At least the Turtles living in the sewers had a vast underground territory to play in! Sure it was stinky and more than a little dangerous but they could stretch their legs whenever they needed it!
"Do...Do you need anything else?" Buttercup asked as Jonathan rolled over to his side turning his back to her
"Just pick up the medicine when it gets here…" Jonathan yawned "...If I answer the door they'll immediately recognize who I am."
"Right." Buttercup said "Knowing Dad...He'll send someone who knows me."
Finally Buttercup left the bedroom at went back downstairs and found the Turtles hanging out in the kitchen Mikey was finishing the second piece of toast he had made for a snack.
"So…" Don said "...How'd it go?"
"I called my Dad." Buttercup said "The medicine should be here in a few hours hopefully the storm won't cause them any severe traffic trouble...I just have to pick it up when they deliver it...Probably just want to make sure I am OK and I'm not being held hostage…"
"Oh please!" Mikey scoffed "With us protecting you?!"
"They don't know us…" Don said "...They probably wouldn't be sure we could protect her from one of the Arkham Rogues!"
So once again Scarecrow tends to steal the spotlight whenever he appears he's just so much more fun to write than the Turtles! But also I do feel he had some good points about Buttercup's origins
