I wanted to give Vegeta a chance to interact with Kira and maybe some of the shinigami in the process. I decided early on that I wanted Mirai Trunks to absolutely DESPISE Shinigami, especially Kira. I've never written an argument before, so this was my first time creating one. I wanted it to seem like a stupid argument, one that just came out of the blue due to a misunderstanding and I wanted it to blow up to the point where fists would fly. Also, I needed an excuse to get Kira to go to the future which was exceedingly difficult for me to figure out. I eventually did though and it presents itself in this chapter.
Some of you messaged me after reading the last chapter and asked: Is this gonna be an enemies to lover thing? Nope! have much better plans (Evil grin).

Chapter 18: Collective Sorrow
The next day Trunks was gone, thank riddance. Whatever his beef was with the shinigami, he could leave her out of it.
"Exactly what are we doing out here again?" Kira huffed at Hinamori-San who just smiled.
"There's nothing better than nature to clear the mind!" She said. "Besides you've got an assignment to do!"
Raising an eyebrow at her, Kira rolled her eyes. "You know, you guys really don't have to do the whole school thing anymore. I already figured out--"
"Teenage years are a blessing, Kira-Chan." Hinamori told her. "We couldn't let you miss out on that."
"Why do I have a feeling it's more of an order on high that this charade is still going on?"
Hinamori-San just laughed at her words. "Come on! You have a drawing assignment to do!"
Groaning Kira allowed herself to be led into the forest. That morning Matsumoto-sensei had given a landscape assignment and thought it would be a wonderful idea to go out into some forest somewhere and draw. There was a forest several miles from the city; it would probably take five or six hours by car to get there. That very same day Kira discovered how shinigami moved so quickly around the world; they could be in one place or another in a blink of an eye. One minute they were at school, the next the forest greeted them. Perhaps this was more training? Maybe.
"I think this spot is perfect, don't you?" Hinamori-San asked. Their forest tromping had led them to a huge rock ledge that stood tall as a wall.
"Sure I guess." Kira plopped down onto the earth itself and began to draw. At least it was relaxing to be out here away from everything. It DID give Kira a break of sorts from her wacky life.
Too bad that didn't last long.
She credited her intense training for the quick reaction. It took mere seconds for her to move to the side before the blue haired Trunks smashed into the rock face and half of a second to see Vegeta come barreling onto the scene ready for an attack.
Unbridled instincts kicked in; producing her trainer Zapakutou, Kira placed herself between Vegeta and the older Trunks, his fist near colliding with her Zanpakutou. Vegeta snapped out of it in the last second, pivoting so that his punch landed into the ground below. It caused a small crater to burrow into the dirt.
"Are you daft!?" Vegeta screamed at her and she screamed back.
"I'm not the one going crazy!!! The hell is your problem!?" Kira hadn't really interacted with Bulma Briefs' husband beforeâHe appeared to be a stoic man, always hiding in the shadows. Honestly, she couldn't even remember if he even spoke to her.
"Out of my way moron!" Vegeta shouted at her. "I've no time for sniffling little brats!"
Brat? Did he just call her a brat!?
Suddenly a hand none too gently pushed her aside; she fell straight into the dirt as blue haired Trunks, in a rage, went right after Vegeta.
"The hell!?" Kira gapped, the two men practically duking it out in front of her. They had completely ignored her! Those absolute jerks!!!
"Kira-Chan!" Hinamori helped her to stand. "We should get out of here! They are-"
"About to die..Slow and painfully." Kira clenched her teeth, gripping her sword. "I am tired of this!"
It seemed like she wasn't allowed to have any peace. In the back of her mind she knew the real reason why she was there and it just made her anger sore.
"The NEXT time you want to use me as a way of keeping tabs, WARN ME." She glared at Hinamori before raising her sword high in the air. She had learned a month ago how to focus her emotions into the blackness that once created a huge fissure at Capsule Corporations. Rukia had warned her it was only for emergencies, that her emotions needed to be in check at all times, lest she do something stupid.
Well, she was about to do something stupid.
She barely heard Hinamori's voice as the wave of emotions consumed her very being. Tendrils crawled up her spine, into her hands. She couldn't stop it as rage enveloped her form.
When she struck, the world went black.
Vegeta recognized the wave that came near and on instinct, threw his futuristic son to the dirt below, the black energy creating a brief wall between them. This one was a bit mild than the first one he saw that day but still as deadly. The fissure broke through the trees, creating a straight line that barely stopped at the edge of the city.
Mirai Trunks laid there gawking at the destruction, shaking almost which did not go unnoticed by Vegeta. By his look, the kid had seen something similar before, and it terrified him.
To think his own child, one of his royal blood, was terrified of an attack!
"The NEXT time you bother me," The two Sayajins turned their heads towards Kira, the girl was breathing hard and had a stare a Sayajin would be proud of. "I won't be as nice."
She collapsed to the dirt, coughing and sputtering, her katana falling to the ground. Her companion rushed to her side but Kira pushed her away.
"Get AWAY from me!" Kira screamed at the young woman, a look full of sheer murder.
"Kira-Chan."The companion frowned. "You need--"
"Don't pull that crap on me!!!" Using her katana as leverage, Kira rose to her shaking feet. "You KNEW they would be here! DIDN'T you, SHINIGAMI!?"
That woman was a shinigami? Vegeta turned his head to the woman with the blue bunned hair. Kakkorot had gone on and on about his so called 'goddaughter' and her training and all of that. Vegeta had just been glad it kept Kakkorot away from Whis, allowing the prince of Sayajins the chance to train with the angel alone.
The blue bonnet woman's posture changed instantly. She stood taller, her gaze leveled.
"Why do I get the feeling," Kira huffed, "that you're using me to spy on HIM!" She pointed to Mirai Trunks. "What's so special about that jerk anyway!?"
So she didn't know that this Trunks was from the future. Vegeta eyed his future son. The boy was glaring at the dirt, fists tight. He was mad, obviously, and not because their little training session had abruptly ended.
"He hates shinigami, so what!" Kira continued her rant at her female companion. "You're not exactly in my top 5 either at this point!" Her hand gripped the hilt of her weapon. "I have a right mind to just--"
"He's from the distant future." Vegeta blurted out, rising to his feet already getting annoyed. "He will be gone soon so what does it matter anyway?"
Kira went silent, sputtering. "Huh!?"
Vegeta rolled his eyes. Maybe she really WAS related to Kakkorot. "You idiot." He pointed to Mirai Trunks. "That idiot, is what the Trunks YOU KNOW will become one day. Get it now?"
Her jawe went near to the ground, brown eyes gazing towards the blue haired young man. He was little, bubbled headed Trunks? The one that hangs around Goten all the time!?
"Now that we've cleared that up, would you kindly LEAVE!" Vegeta barked out. "I've no time for such trivial crap."
Scowling Kira approached future Trunks, her shadow casting over him. He had yet to stand, choosing to sit there while the ranting went on. She remembered his glare when they first spoke. He wanted to kill her that day, she was sure of it. And by his current demeanor, still did.
"What the hell did I do that made you so angry at me?" She asked him.
"Nothing." He said as he rose. "It's nothing."
"Nothing!? Nothing!?" She screamed at him. "So that's it huh? Little Trunks is going to hate me someday and all he can say is NOTHING!?"
"Exactly. You did NOTHING." Trunks glared at her. "You watched my mother die."
Pause.
"You could have stopped him but chose not to." Trunks told her. "If it were up to me, I would kick you out of Gohan's home immediately before you end up killing HIM as well."
She smacked him, clear across the face. Force caused him to trail back a bit but not by much.
"At least you got to SEE your parents." She was shaking; with furry, with sadness, with everything. This was getting so ridiculous!!!
"I don't even know what my parents look like." Her voice was wavering a bit. "I don't know if I look more like my mom or my dad. I don't know what they sound like, smell like...And you are blaming ME because your privileged ass got to say goodbye to one!?" Her glare said it all. "I can't go back in time to meet them! I am STUCK wondering about them for the rest of my life and YOU'RE MAD!?" She got right into his face, poking his chest with every word. "Don't think you aren't the ONLY ONE on this earth who is suffering!!! Gohan is the ONLY PERSON on this earth that actually treats me like SOMEONE other than some prized weapon with a pedigree! He's the ONLY ONE who has EVER treated me with so much kindness that it hurts! I would freaking DIE FOR HIM!"
Mirai Trunks went silent.
"I hope to ALL the kami on high above OUR Trunks doesn't end up like YOU! A sniveling brat who can't even beat his own father!" Kira screamed at him.
"Shut up!" Trunks powered up immediately, his hair turning golden. "You don't know me!"
"Like I would want to!" Kira screamed back.
"Enough!" Vegeta pulled the two away, knowing this was escalating and fast. That's all he needed was a brawl between his future son and a pissed of shinigami. Though he would personally love to see his own son battle against one, they truly didn't have time for this."Oi! Shinigami!" He looked at the blue bonnet woman, who had been silent this whole time. "Get your stupid brat away NOW!"
"You're so high and might! Why don't you come to the future and see just how bad it is!" Trunks challenged Kira, practically ignoring his father.
"It's probably hell on earth seeing as that YOU'RE alive there!" Kira shouted back and Vegeta cursed.
The blast came quick enough, Vegeta barely had enough time before his futuristic son and Kira were in a heated battle. Trunks was pulling all the stops too, using his energy attacks to the fullest. Kira dodged every single one of them, even smacking some away. Vegeta smacked his head and sighed. Damn teenagers and their stupidity! He was surprised Kira could do nothing but deflect and dodge. She had all that pent up power...Perhaps she was only strong enough for one full blast? Possibly so. Still though it was impressive how well she was keeping up with Trunks. The girl could almost pass for a Sayajin really.
Still though, Vegeta knew her family was high tier and did NOT want to deal with such things right now, not with the whole Black situation. He waited for the right moment and it came quick enough. Soon he was between them, one hand gripping Trunks's fist the other holding Kira's katana.
"You two are acting like spoiled children." He grunted, eyeing his son first he barked out. "You are allowing your emotions to overtake you boy! Get over it and fast or I will personally send you to the underworld MYSELF!" He then set his eyes on Kira. "And you, you are new to fighting. It isn't a good idea to rile up your opponent like some half brained idiot! What in the hell are those shinigami teaching you anyway!?" He glared at her. "You want a real battle, fine." He looked towards the blue bonnet shinigami. "She's coming with us!"
A frown from Kira. "What?"
"You heard me right." He eyed Kira. "You are coming with us to the future. You want to blindly start attacking people, very well then." Quickly he grabbed the girl. "Come on boy." And into the sky he went, Trunks following after him.
Hinamori watched them until they were out of sight. She pulled out her black cell phone.
"Contact achieved." She held a grimace as she spoke over the line. "Yeah, I felt it but...You think this is really--? Well, okay. Hinamori out." Call done, Hinamori took a deep breath then smiled.
"The Kurosakis really are special people."
