(Ed Vs Burgh)

[Castelia City Gym: The Ed Boys]
Solving the puzzle and pressing switches, the Ed Boys finally made it to Burgh who was standing above stained glass. The Cul-de-sac Kids walked along the benches on the side of the gym.
"Wow! I can't believe after a few months, we're ready to battle Burgh!" Double Dee replied with a smile.
"I noticed something." Said Ed.
"You finally noticed something?" Asked Eddy.
"Burgh is actually Burgundy, like his pants!" Ed smiled.
"Ed, seriously, you need to stop- Actuall… Double Dee? What is Burgundy?" Asked Eddy.
"Why, it's the color of his pants, Eddy. A mixture of Brown and Red. Something like a… Blood Clot on a Band-aid…" Said Double Dee. "Such an unsanitary comparison."
"So, who gets to fight him?" Asked Eddy.
"I believe it's Ed's turn." Said Double Dee.
"Why?" Eddy replied.
"Let's be reasonable, Eddy. By standards of taking turns, it appears that it's Ed's turn, this time. And that we already took ours with the Trio Brothers and Lenora." Double Dee replied.
"Hm, that's fair." Eddy replied. "Well, Lumpy, step up cuz it's your turn."
"When we're done, I'm stepping down." Said Ed.
"Stepping down from what?" Asked Eddy.
"The stairs to the Pokémon Center. Duh!" Ed replied with a serious tone.
Double Dee chuckled in response, behind his hand.
" Thanks for earlier!" Burgh looked at the Ed Boys. My bug Pokémon were clamoring to fight with you. But first, allow me to express my joy with the Bug Types! Vespiquen, her dress makes her pretty…. Leavanny, how she makes clothes for others out of leaves and silk…"
"Silk?!" Asked Eddy as his face lights up with green money signs. "WHERE'S THE SILK!"
"Well, as you can see, her diet is in the process of making a new gym." Said Burgh, with a sorry look on his face. "You'll have to wait for a rematch, when it's ready."
"Fine!" Eddy barked.
"Alright, well, I might be going a little quick, but it's time to battle!" Burgh replied as he took his spot. "So who will be battling me?"
"I will!" Said Ed with a smile.
Burgh chuckled. "And so it begins."

"THE FOLLOWING MATCH WILL BEGIN SHORTLY! THIS BATTLE WILL BE BETWEEN CASTELIA CITY'S GYM LEADER, BURGH, VERSUS THE CHALLENGER FROM PEACH CREEK… ED! EACH TRAINER WILL HAVE UP TO 5 POKÉMON TO BATTLE, AND THE BATTLE WILL END WHEN A TRAINER HAS NO MORE POKÉMON TO USE, DECLARING THEIR OPPONENT THE WINNER! PLEASE SELECT YOUR POKÉMON!" Guido announced.
"Well then, why don't we start with…" Burgh loads a Pokéball and summons his first Pokémon, a Surprise Pokémon. "Karrablast!"
Out came a small, beetle-like Pokémon. His head area was black with yellow eyes, he had a yellow underbelly, and was mainly blue with a hinge-looking appendage (which helps it cling onto things) that comes from his back.
"Karrablast, the Clamping Pokémon. A Bug Type. When they feel threatened, they spit an acidic liquid to drive attackers away. This Pokémon targets Shelmet. These mysterious Pokémon evolve when they receive electrical stimulation while they are in the same place as Shelmet."
"Hmm… A Shelmet?" Asked Double Dee as he took out his notebook and wrote down the fact.
"What are you doing sockhead?!" Eddy looked over, puzzled and a bit annoyed by what Double Dee was doing.
"For research terms, I'd like to see what Karrablast and Shelmet do when they evolve… IF AND ONLY IF this Shelmet would do the same…" Double Dee replied.
"Well, I think there's enough bugs inside that Tank of yours…" Eddy crossed his arms as he noticed something. "So… Easy Evolution…? That would mean Free Strong Pokémon… which means easy pickings?!"
"Well, I'd like to study how this symbiotic relationship goes, but that idea also works." Double Dee smiled.
"I found some Pokémon earlier!" Said Ed, with a smile. "They're at this garden where a nice lady let me use her garden as an arena to train. But all I found were birds and bugs… Though I'd found some people to trade them with… I'll do it after this battle, though."
"Well that's progress, Ed." Double Dee kept smiling.
"Since when does Lumpy care about being smart?" Asked Eddy.
"I don't believe it takes a genius to battle, Eddy." Burgh replied. "If anything, a Battle is like a work of art. Ed's simply finding different angles to draw with his Paintbrush, or in this case, his Pokémon! I bet you, Ed will try to come up with a plan to beat my whole team!"
"The birdies always pick on the cute crawlies…" Ed pictures as a flashback plays in his mind. "Everytime I destroy a broken pumpkin with Spookie… a Bug comes out… and then a Birdie comes out and tries to eat it… and that's when Ariel comes out and saves the day with Electricity!"
"JUST CHOOSE A POKÉMON ALREADY!!" Eddy blurted out in anger.
"You can't rush art, Eddy. Please let Ed's mind paint the scenery." Burgh replied.
"A work of art…" Double Dee commented.
"I see… Buttered Toast… and Gravy…" Ed mumbled calmly as he had his eyes closed to paint the scenery.
"Oh boy…" Eddy groaned.
"On top of a Kettle and a Buttered Pan… both over a hot toasty… FIRE!!!" Ed opened his eyes as he raised a Finger as Burgh's eyes opened wide in surprise.
"Fire?!" Eddy and Double Dee questioned Ed.
"The honey turning to smoke? The Buttered Toast? The Gravy? All of them fear Fire Monsters!" Ed smiled as he loaded a Pokéball. "And so, I choose… Berry!"
Ed summoned his Fire Monkey Pokémon, who somersaulted onto the field.
"(Why do I always get the Monkeys before I battle?!)" Karrablast complained.
"(Ooh ooh ooh ooh! Berry never see YOU in Pan Forest…!)" Berry posed for combat.
"(So many forest monkeys I've slain, I can't tell the difference…)" Karrablast tried standing tall.
"A Fire Type…" Burgh grinned. "I believe this will truly be a Masterpiece of a fight!"
"Let's paint!" Ed smiled with a confident look.

Guidos raised an arm up.
"Pokémon trainers ready?!" Asked Guidos to the fight as he brought down a chop. "BATTLE BEGIN!!"

[Ed Vs Burgh: Round 1]
"Here we go! Karrablast! Aerial Ace!" Burgh ordered, thrusting his hand out.
"(Hope you're ready for this, Monkey!)" Kartablast charged with great speed.
"Berry! Make a Wall of Incinerate!" Ed ordered in retaliation.
"(Ooh ooh! Try cutting Firewall!)" Berry spits out a stream of fire out of his mouth as it erupts into a Flaming Wall!
"(WOAH!!!)" Just as Karrablast was gaining speed, he was about to slow down!
"Karrablast! Don't fear the flames! Cut through them with Aerial Ace!" Burgh orders with confidence!
"(If you say so…)" Karrablast regains speed as he cuts through the flames with a little bit of super effective damage but landing with a Burning 360 Aerial Ace on Berry, who flew back to Ed!
"Berry! Are you okay?!" Ed asked his Pokémon as his Pokémon nodded and made angry monkey sounds. "Alright! Blast the bug with Flame Burst!"
Berry cups his hand and brings it to his left side as he charges it."(Ooh ooh! Kamekongae… HA!)"
Berry shoots a Bullet of Fire like a Kamehameha from Dragon Ball! The bullet traveled at high speed as it collided with Karrablast who took a heavy blow, sending him flying to Burgh's side.
"Karrablast! Are you doing alright?!" Asked Burgh. Karrablast got up without another word. "BISH!! You've hit the switch of my soul!! If you can… Facade!"
"(You're gonna taste the pain of defeat!)" Karrablast as he charged with a Roaring Cry of Pain as if exclaiming his joy, tackling his way to Berry.
Ed thrusted his Arm out, pointing forward. "Flame Burst, again, Berry!"
"(Pansengan!)" Berry blasts another Kamehameha Blast of Fast Fire that struck Karrablast like a Bullet that erupted on contact!
"(I tried…)" Karrablast coughed out smoke as he laid there with swirly eyes, defeated.
"Karrablast!" Burgh was shocked.
"Karrablast is unable to battle! The Winner of Round 1 goes to Pansear!" Said Guido as he pointed his hand to Ed's side.
"(Ooh ooh ooh ooh! Bug lost to First Pan? Electricity!)" Berry responded to Karrablast's defeat involving the streak of beating up any Elemental Monkeys.
"Well, you did your best… Return…" Burgh recalled his Pokémon. "As sad to see Karrablast losing his winning streak, I believe these next few bugs will put you through the ringer!"
"Bring it on!" Ed smiled with confidence.
"No way did a Monkey seriously take out a bug!" Kevin was not impressed.
"Fire is strong against bugs, Kevin." Mandy replied.
"Of course… But daddy doesn't let me play with fire…" Nazz replied.
"Rolf works with fire instead of playing with it…" Rolf questioned Nazz's logic.

[Ed Vs Burgh: Round 2]
"I think I'll find out the key to stop your Fire Type Pokémon, AND any Flying Type Pokémon you have!" Burgh began thinking with his hand on his chin and then raised his finger. "AHA! How about that kind of Pokémon?!"
"A Pokémon that can do that?!" Double Dee replied with a question.
"What does he even have?! Fire and… Birds destroy Bugs, right?!" Asked Eddy. "What does he have other than Bugs?!"
"You'll find out soon enough!" Burgh smiled as he loaded a Pokéball and tossed it. "Show them the surprise, Dwebble!"
The Pokémon was summoned in front of Burgh as he was revealed to be a small hermit crab-like Pokémon. His body was orange, and he carried a gray rocky shell on his back. He had a round head, long eye stalks with round black eyes, and a small mouth. He had a set of four claw-like legs, with large sharp claws on his front legs.
"(Let's rock on!)" The Dwebble peeped as he lowered his shell and raised his claws.
"Huh?! That's the Pokémon?!" Asked Eddy. "It's another Bug but with a Rock!!"
"Precisely." Burgh nodded with a smile.
"Wait! Eddy!" Double Dee replied. "What if this Pokémon DOES ally Ed's Fire and Flying types into serious danger?!"
"How?! It's a bug and a rock!" Eddy replied to his smart friend.
"Hey, Ed?" Asked Burgh. "Mind if I show your friend something? I won't move after any of your Pokémon hurt my Dwebble."
"I want to know as well, but first…" Ed took out his Pokédex. "I want to know if it's a Rock or a Bug."
"I think you'll still find he's-" Burgh tried answering, but was stopped by the Laser Grid Scanning his Pokémon. "Both…"
"Dwebble, the Rock Inn Pokémon. A Bug/Rock Type. This Pokémon can easily melt holes in hard rocks with a liquid secreted from its mouth. It makes a hole in a suitable rock. If that rock breaks, the Pokémon remains agitated until it locates a replacement."
"So the Rock is his home, but Bug is the Pokémon, itself?!" Double Dee was surprisingly fascinated. "It's like a hermit crab, but it still fights in its home… But when it needs a new shell… It literally makes a new one!"
"Like a Free Trailer!" Said Burgh with a reassuring smile.
"Trailer Park… OH NO, KANKERS!!" Ed panicked.
"Actually, there was a Kanker Person who battled me and won, but retired after my fight… I heard one of them became a Champion of another region and the other disappeared…" said Burgh, questioning his memory.
Double Dee's eyes opened wide. "What…?"
"Alright, if a Kanker remained a Champion of another region, I want to know WHO WON!!" Eddy gritted his teeth.
"Well, that, I'll tell you…" Burgh replied with his smile fading and turning serious. "It's a dark and seriously blue story… But let's not forget why we're here… Anyways, allow me to demonstrate…"
Double Dee whispered into Eddy's ear as he got the conclusion.
"Oh… him…" said Eddy.
And then Berry and Dwebble had a Pokémon Banter…
Berry posed with his hands on the ground like an ape. "(Ooh ooh… Why does bug carry useless rock?)"
"(I live in it… And it's a key to beat Pokémon like you!)" Dwebble raised his claws and lowered his rocky home.
"(What Rock do again?)" Asked Berry.
…
"Dwebble! Use Smack Down!" Burgh replied.
"(Take this!)" Dwebble took out a Rock from his home, enlarged it with Rock Power and lobbed it onto Berry who just saw it and was hit in the head with it…! Berry fell down onto his belly, feeling super effective damage…! Berry didn't say another word, Burgh gasped, horrified…
"BERRY!!" Ed screamed, the Cul-de-sac Kids watched in horror.
"Oh dear… what have I done…?" Burgh felt sorry.
"STOP THE MATCH!" Burgh ordered.
"The match is postponed by Burgh of Castelia City Gym! Somebody get a Doctor!" Guido announced, as equally horrified as Burgh and the Ed Boys as Double Dee did a check up on Berry… Berry could hardly see, he could hardly move… and he could hardly communicate right… Everything was going away for a moment… like if his days on earth were over.
Ed sniffled… as he was about to sob…
"BERRY!!!" Ed screamed out with pain.
Berry closed his eyes… Never to return…

Suddenly, Ed's C-Gear glowed, as Dream Mist seeped out, filling the whole arena. A sparkle left from Ed's Xtransceiver Watch and was fed to… the dead Pansear…

[Berry's Dream]
Berry was dreaming about the days in the forest as they were building homes for humans in Nacrene City, however, there were human protestors who were against invading Pokémon Territory… Berry was picked up by Ted, who was already carrying Blue and Lime, at the moment. The monkeys, who were once at a civil war of elements, united by the public service of delivering the Elemental Monkey Pokémon.
It was not only because of the fact that Berry's Head Hurts, but because the Humans started a Forest Fire to kill some Natural Pokémon Food, and they sawed off some trees to make wood.
Somebody in his dream, who looked like Chop, Eddy's Tepig, was busy tackling a wooden wall with no structure.
"(Ooh ooh… Chop?)" Asked Berry.
(Song Playing: Emotion - Pokémon Scarlet and Violet)
"(Who? I'm the Farmer's boy, unfortunately… I'm Wilfred Jr…)" the Tepig groaned. "(I'm just practicing when I take out the real bullies in my life…)"
"(Bullies?)" Asked Berry. "(What Pokémon bully Fire Pig?)"
"(I should be asking myself that… Because of them, I was not feeling good… All these days of my reckless trainer giving no support… All those days where his friends' Pokémon teased me… I wish I was Fire Pig 001… But unfortunately, it's not the case with me… and sometimes… I wish that Grass Snake and Sea Otter 002 could behave… I really miss All three 001's… I just wish I could leave earth and never come back… Never come back to earth and rest my weary soul… For good..)" Wilfred Jr sighed so sadly, as he looked at the door that's full of tackle damage… "(Or maybe if I believe hard enough, maybe behind this wall.. lies a ticket to freedom…)"
Berry felt sorry for this Tepig…
"(Fire Pig don't need Sun Wupan to be happy…)" Berry placed his hand on Wilfred Jr.
"(Sun Wupan? Is that Arceus or God in your Pokémon Country?)" Asked Wilfred Jr.
"(Sun Wupan is Pan Master.)" Said Berry. "(Sun Wupan once said… 'All who believe in more good, get good… All who believe in more bad, get bad…')"
Wilfred Jr saw within himself and the wall as he tackled it once more as he charged this time with the Blaze ability! As he did the wall did not cave in, but something dropped onto Berry as he picked it up. It looked like a Piece of Medicine but it was Gray…
"(Hey, Mr Monkey… Does your Monkey God ever said anything about walls and how to destroy them?)" Asked Wilfred Jr.
"('A Wall has limit… No wall is bad wall, unless armed, like so…')" said Berry.
"(Hm… Which would explain why Ivy's Mistress's Brother had it horrible…)" said Rolf's Tepig. "(So what do you expect me to do, walk on my hind legs and pull my way?)"
The Tepig asked as he lifted his hoof.
"(For Pan, use hand… For Fire Pig… Get up…)" Berry replied.
"(Get up?!)" Asked Wilfred Jr.
"(Berry see Chop grow… He big, fat, and strong! Like Human!)" Berry replied.
"(So 001 evolved…? Huh… guess I can learn a thing or two from Monkeys after all… I bet you, if you're from 001, bet you that his friend is still teaching monkeys how to write Shakespeare…)" Wilfred Jr joked.
"(Shaking Spears?)" Asked Berry.
"(Forget it… What I'm trying to say… You, and your Monkey Papa are helping me… I could learn a thing or two… Too bad Monkeys are terrible at typing books…)" Wilfred Jr joked around as Berry said nothing, though not offended. "(You're actually listening to me … Good to know somebody decides to give this piece of bacon a peaceful time… So what are you gonna do with that Dream Capsule?)"
"(Dream Capsule?)" Asked Berry.
"(If you're talking to me while your owners are far away, either You've been released, you're asleep… or… you're dead…)" said Wilfred.
"(All Berry remembers is being hit by Rock…)" said Berry.
"(Oh… Well… I'll see you soon, on the other side, someday…)" said Wilfred Jr as he began walking away….
"(But Berry can't be dead!)" Berry replied.
"(That was a Super effective Rock Move… How can you come back?)" Asked Wilfred Jr. "(Unless you make a deal… with what you have there that you can put in your mouth…)"
"(Huh? Dream Capsule?)" Asked Berry.
"(I'm pretty sure you know that we Fire Starters also have a Chinese God. I'm sure you heard of God Apples… Or the fable of it.)" Said Wilfeed Jr.
"(Berry don't read books…)" Berry replied.
"(Just know… this is your way home… I don't want you to forget me when you go home… This Capsule can only be seen by the weary… If you eat it, you'll become stronger, and most importantly, any Pokémon near a C-Gear can come back alive… Thing is… it'll change your ability, for a long time… Better use that power, capitalize it as much as you can and win…")" said Wilfred Jr.
"(Why don't Fire Pig eat it?)" Asked Berry.
"(Unlike 001 and my 002 siblings… I studied who I am… and what's the point of me eating it? Less damage from Fire and Ice? I'm a Fire Type for crying out loud! I'm the best type of Pokémon for those two! So there's no need for me to be greedy. What is it good for when it's not for Grass and Water Type Pokémon, huh?!)" Wilfred Jr replied.
"(Berry sees you mastered Honor and Humility… Key elements of being Fighting Type…)" said Berry with a smile.
"(A Fighting Type?)" Wilfred Jr was puzzled, until it struck him… "(Did… Did 001… No, he did not! He did not change typing! He's a Pure Fire Type!)"
"(Berry seen him with own eyes…)" Berry replied.
"(So… I can achieve it too?)" Asked Wilfred Jr.
Berry felt something on him, stuck to his fur. He peeled it and gave it to Wilfred Jr. A Rare Candy.
"(Ah… Well, a trade…)" said Wilfred Jr. "(Just know… that whenever 001 is not there… Tepig 002 is here, cheering you on… Now eat it!)"
Berry eats the Dream Capsule as he glows.
(Song playing: Running through the New World - Kirby and the Forgotten Land)
Berry suddenly has Lava Streams out of his body with fire erupting in his aura! Berry made angry monkey sounds, signaling his power bursting.
"(NO WAY DID YOU HAVE BLAZE INSIDE OF YOU!! ME TOO!!!)" Wilfred Jr bursts in Blaze the same as Berry was.
"(Thank you, Fire Pig!)" Berry smiled with pride.
"(That's enough inspiration for both of us, right?!)" Asked Wilfred Jr.
"(That'll do, Fire Pig… that'll do!)" Berry fistbumped Wilfred Jr who replied back with his front foot, but it felt like a fist as Berry's light began shining bright as he faded…

[Ed Vs Burgh: Round 2]
Wilfred Jr remembers that dream in Pinwheel Forest, alone. "(Come back now, buddy…)"
Just as the paramedics were about to take away Berry, Berry woke up with a sudden surge like Blaze!
Burgh, the Ed Boys, and everyone surrounded to see the death of a Pansear, were shocked.

Pokémon Banter.
"(OOH OOH! WHO WANTS TO PLAY ROCK, TREE, SAW?!)" Asked Berry.
"(You… You're back?!)" Asked the Dwebble.
"(Berry never left! This is for Fire Pig!!!)" Berry surged with fire.

"The- THE MATCH CONTINUES?!?!" Guido announced as the Paramedics and the Crowd celebrated as they stayed to watch.
"Berry…" Ed smiled as he teared up.
"And guess what?! Burgh can't do anything until Ed's Monkey attacks!" Eddy exclaimed. "He said it, not me!"
"I did during the deal when your Pansear nearly fell completely in battle… very well…" Burgh nodded.
"Alright… Berry use-" Ed was about to order Flame Burst, but Berry used Yawn…
Dwebble yawned as well as Dwebble fell asleep because Berry just waited until Dwebble fell asleep.
"Well, at least your Pokémon's Brain is still working." Burgh gave credit.
"Alright! BERRY USE FLAME BURST!!!" Ed cheered with a fist pumped in the air!
"(Take this!)" Berry loaded a Flame Burst in his hands, but was as big as Perfect Cell's Perfect Kamehameha… as Berry shot it, Dwebble and it LAUNCHED HIM OFF THE GROUND!
"Oh dear…" Burgh was surprised by Berry's New Power.
"Berry! AGAIN!" Ed ordered another.
"(This is for Rock! Ooh ooh!)" Berry launched another Full Powered Flame Burst onto Dwebble who woke up. Dwebble woke up as he saw the Bullet Speed Flame Burst as he screamed in fear as the attack erupted on his body!
"(I deserved it…)" Dwebble mumbled as he fainted.
"Dwebble is unable to battle! Round 2 miraculously goes to Pansear with the Blaze Hidden Ability!" Guido announced. The crowd, including Rolf, Nazz, Mandy and Jonny as well as the Harlequins and Paramedics, cheered for Berry as Burgh recalled his Dwebble. "However, to not risk further injury, Pansear will be unable to battle! Please recall that Pokémon, a substitute Pokémon for Ed of Peach Creek, shall be granted due to fatalistic errors!"
"So now we know how Dwebble is able to beat Fire Types and Flying Types so easily, right Eddy?" Double Dee assured Eddy.
"Yeah… that Bug's a monster…" Eddy shivered.
"Berry. You're amazing! Return to rest now." Ed recalled his Pokémon as the Doctors took his Pokéball and brought it to the Ambulance where Berry was beginning to be fixed.

[Ed Vs Burgh: Round 3]
"Alright! Please select your Pokémon!" Guido ordered.
"Alright, this next one will be a new one!" Burgh took out a Net Ball. "Let's paint it Purple, Whirlipede!"
Burgh summoned a Whirlipede just like Double Dee's Sassy.
"Oh my! He has a Whirlipede like mine!" Double Dee was surprised.
"Rolf wonders what Miracle Monkey Ed Boy has in his arsenal of monsters…" Rolf asked the question.
"He doesn't have another fire type, does he?" Asked Nazz.
"Actually, he does." Double Dee explained. "But one can't burn out Fire Pokemon like that especially when there are more threats like Dwebble…"
"Burn out! I get it!" Jonny laughed as he listened to Plank. "Plank says- HEY! I STILL REMEMBER THAT!"
"Remember what, Jonny?" Asked Eddy.
"That time when Sarah rolled me into a wheel…" Jonny replied, "I swear you guys get on my nerves! Luckily, Sarah surrendered."
"What did Plank say?" Asked Nazz.
"Oh, uh, he also said Ed will need somebody who can stop a running tire." Jonny replied. "Is this what this Pokemon's gimmick is?"
"I had experiences with Whirlipede, myself. And one thing you will like is watching them roll." Double Dee replied. "We'll see that Ed does."
"Let's get em! Ariel!" Ed summoned his Chinchou.
"(Hello there.)" Ariel looked at Burgh's Whirlipede.
"(Let's Rock and Roll!)" Whirlipede rolled some dust on the floor!
"(Oh my… a Feisty one…)" Ariel looked with alert.
"Let us hope that we don't have to go near a daring situation again, so let's handle it with care." Burgh nodded as he thrusted his hand out! "Whirlipede, Rollout!"
"(HERE WE GO!)" The Whirlipede rolled into Ariel's direction.

"(Let's relax…)" Ariel blew out a path of Bubbles onto Whirlipede's path, earning a critical hit, which the rollout still struck Ariel, but softened the attack! "(Oh my…!)"
"(Grrr! That hurt a lot, but I won't let you get the best of me!)" Whirlipede rolled onto Ariel's path again!
"Again!" Ed ordered.
"(Blow with the wind…)" Ariel blew a stream of bubbles onto Whirlipede hurting him more, as he slipped and rolled onto his side!
"(WHY WON'T IT WORK?!)" Whirlipede asked as he fainted…
"Whirlipede is unable to battle! The winner of Round 3 goes to Chinchou!" Guido announced.
"Using the floor as a weapon, excellent choice, Ed!" Burgh commented as he recalled Whirlipede. "This is the first time a Water Pokemon was used properly!"
"Smells like the time mommy cleaned the house and it smelled like honey!" Ed smiled.
"So all Ed had to do was create a hazard?" Asked Nazz.
"By the looks of it, he used Bubble Beam's secondary ability as a weapon." Mandy explained. "Sometimes Bubble Beam can lower the speed of the Pokemon struck by it… Ed was lucky it struck twice."
"Hohoh! Dodo Brained Ed Boy is suddenly getting better at this Game!" Rolf is impressed.
"Did Double Dee say he has a Pokemon like that?" Asked Kevin.
"Pretty sure he never used it on us, but imagine Whirlipede at full strength." Mandy explained.
"Let's see what Ed paints next!" Jonny smiled as he watched, getting jumpy.

[Round 4: Ed Vs Burgh]
"Alright, Ed! For my main ace Pokemon, I have here is my cherished motherly Pokemon! Let us have them, Leavanny!" Burgh summoned his Pokemon.
"(Mind if I trouble you?)" The Bug Pokemon looked at Ariel.
Leavanny was a thin, yellow, bipedal humanoid-looking insect Pokémon which was supposed to resemble a leaf insect. She had a broad, split leaf around her head and had long antennae protruding from it which ended in semi-circles. Her chest and legs were dark green and sectioned. Her hands looked like leaves and the arms were like veins. Her abdomen was covered by her leafy tail, making it look like she was wearing a cloak. She had a string that she uses for the trail to come out of mazes.
"Hey, why does that bug look familiar?" Asked Eddy while he reached for his Pokedex and scanned the Leavanny.
"Leavanny, the Nurturing Pokemon. A Bug/Grass Type. The final stage of Sewaddle. Upon finding a small Pokémon, it weaves clothing for it from leaves, using the cutters on its arms and sticky silk. It keeps its eggs warm with heat from fermenting leaves. It also uses leaves to make warm wrappings for Sewaddle."
"Well, I hope this answers your question, Eddy." Double Dee noted.
"Oh boy! I want one like that!" Jonny exclaimed.
"What for?" Asked Kevin.
"Because I always wanted a bug like that!" Jonny exclaimed. "Though Plank and I wondered what she could do!... (Listens to Plank)... You think that Ed and Burgh's Pokemon will have a Swordfight, Plank? How?"
"I withdraw Ariel!" Ed recalled Ariel back into her Pokéball. "Thank you!"
The group caught notice.
"What do you have perfect enough for this round, Ed?" Asked Burgh. "Perhaps another Fire Type?"
"I see you have another Pokéball in the back of your Silk Cape!" Ed pointed at the Fifth Pokeball. "And even though it is a cliche way for a Surprise Pokemon. I won't make the same mistake again, so I'll save Spookie for the final shot!"
"Whoever this Spookie is, may lead me to whoever it could be, perhaps a Ghost Type, or a Fire Type, or perhaps both. I may have a hunch who it is, but like you have it for a reserved Final Pokemon, I'll reserve this one as well…!" Burgh replied.
"Let's get them, Pom-pom!" Ed summons his Archen.
"(MEAT!!)" Pompom squawked loudly as she spread her wings.
"(My my, are you such a hungry one…)" Burgh's Leavanny worried about the Prehistoric Bird's Diet.
"(Meat…?)" asked Pompom.
"Oh, perhaps you were wrong, Plank." Said Jonny. "He sent out this ugly bird."
"Or maybe he's calculating here." Double Dee explained as Ed suddenly called the first move.
"Attack with Pluck!" Ed ordered.
"Protect now!" Burgh ordered.
"(AAAH!!)" Leavanny screamed as she guarded herself as a shield made out of her energy formed in front of herself while Pompom pecked out a lot of hits on the shield! With about 14 pecks, she leaped back into her zone. Leavanny sighed. "(That was close…)"
"Now use Aerial Ace!" Burgh ordered.
"(But not close enough!)" Leavanny frowned as she elongated her leaf blade as she charged at Pompom, as she tried swiping down on her!
"Defend with Dragonbreath then make U-Turn!" Ed smirked as he pointed his finger forward then moved it around in a "U" Figure!
Just as Leavanny was about to strike Pompom, Pompom squawked with draconic flames blasting out of her mouth, catching onto Leavanny's blade!
Bonking the First Bird Pokemon on the head, it was all Leavanny could manage because she got paralyzed in close quarters! But obeying Ed, Pompom ran across as she leaped onto Leavanny's back, pecked on her, and flew back to Ed, who recalled Pompom back into her Pokéball!
And meanwhile, Leavanny's paralyzed blade couldn't let her get up!

"AND NOW! CRYSTAL THE MERMAID SAMURAI GRACES THIS BATTLE!" Ed tossed Crystal's Pokeball into the battlefield!

Crystal was summoned as she lifted her two sharp scallops as she bowed. "(For Ed, I fight for his honor!)"
"So that was your plan!" Burgh was impressed.
"Unleash your fury, Crystal! With endless strikes of Fury Cutter!" Ed called out as Crystal swipes once onto Leavanny, earning a screech in pain! And once again, with an uppercut, Leavanny was KO'd, while Crystal's scallops were glowing a slightly stronger green!
"(Oh my… I was careless…)" Leavanny fell on her back with her Blade arm flopping above her head.
"Leavanny is unable to battle! Round 4's winner is with the team work of Archen and Dewott!" Guido announced.
"Oh my! They did Sword Fight! Plank, you were right!" Jonny exclaimed.
"Ed is getting good…" Kevin admitted.
"If only Fire-Head Sarah Girl could see Ed now!" Rolf smiled.
"I wonder what Burgh's last Pokemon will be." Double Dee replied.
"Is it me, or is Ed having LITERALLY TOO MUCH FUN in this battle?" Asked Eddy.
Jonny listens to Plank as a sudden jingle of the Pokemon Center from the Ambulance beeped.
The Paramedics announced the condition to Guido. "And it appears that Pansear returns to the battle!"
Burgh's eyes opened wide in shock as Berry walked out of the ambulance with a Bicycle Helmet.
"Now, treat your Pansear with some Yogurt and his daily calcium to help rebuild his head, but this Helmet shall protect him." The Paramedics told Double Dee, who was the assigned guardian of Ed and Eddy, by papers.
"Will do, Doctor!" Double Dee smiled.

[Round 5: Ed Vs Burgh]
Burgh's Pokeball suddenly shook and popped open, revealing the Pokemon inside.
"Vespiquen?" Asked Burgh in shock.
Vespiquen was a three-foot tall humanoid bee that had a red gem on her head, with a hive around her abdomen that looked like a ballroom dress with one horizontal stripe and six openings where baby Combee are born and cared for. She also controlled other Combee to heed her commands to defend, heal, and attack. Just like real bees and wasps, only a female can become queen, hence only female Combee can evolve into Vespiquen.
"Vespiquen, the Beehive Pokemon. A Bug/Flying Type and the Final Evolution of Female Combee. It releases various pheromones to make the grubs in its body do its bidding while fighting foes. When endangered, grubs from its six-cell honeycomb strike back. There is only one in a colony."
Berry marched at the side of Ed as well as Spookie, then Ariel and Crystal. (Pansear, Litwick, Chinchou and Dewott.)
Burgh held his lips with his hands, as Vespiquen nodded at him. She smiled as she bowed down respectfully.
"Oh my… I didn't think it had to resort to this… But Ed… I surrender…" Burgh smiled as he bowed as well.
"Oh?" Asked Ed.
"BY SURRENDER OF CASTELIA CITY GYM LEADER, BURGH, THE WINNER OF THIS MATCH GOES TO, ED FROM PEACH CREEK!" Guido pointed to Ed's side as everyone in his side were puzzled.
"WHAT?!" "SURRENDER?!" "SAY WHAT?!"
The Cul-de-sac Crew were baffled.
"(What, why?)" Asked Dewott.
"(You see, not only do you have two Fire Pokemon, but an Electric Pokemon, a Flying/Rock Pokemon and you're powered up… Darling… There's nothing I could do even if I wanted to… I do not like stressing out my master even at hard times… I've… I've never respected him… But when I see your team do better than ours, and the oath he spoke to me, Leavanny, and the others… It made me want to cry how much the Heroes of Unova revealed themselves to me… Bravo, my darlings! Bravo!" Vespiquen clapped her hands.
"It appears to me… Vespiquen knows as well as I do… This is the first battle in my life where my opponent doesn't lose a Pokemon against me!" Burgh smiled. "And by your Pansear as well, my dearest apologies…. But alas… Ed… You win the Castelia City Gym's Insect Badge!"

Ed was suddenly given the badge which was a badge with a green ladybug or beetle on it, with golden plating that made the outlines of the bug in it.
"Isn't the Insect Badge just awesome?! In fact, with three badges, Pokémon up to Level 40 will listen to you." Burgh smiled. "And take this, too."
[Ed obtained TM76 "Struggle Bug"!]

[Flavored Text: At last, a Struggling Move where the User doesn't suffer!]
"Struggle Bug deals damage to foes and lowers their special attack. Even something that seems trifling can be crucial, remember!" Burgh smiled as he walked up to Ed and they both shook hands as the audience, including the Paramedics, clapped.
"Alright, Burgh! It's our turn now!" Eddy smirked as he walked from the Audience table.
"I'll go first!" Kevin booted Eddy out the way.
As the Cul-de-sac Crew tried splitting Eddy and Kevin from another fight, Ed faced his Pokemon while the Paramedics began leaving to their Building.
"You are all fantastic!" Ed smiled. "You all are wonderful! Thank you for helping me win this badge!" Ed hugged his Pokemon, being mindful of Berry, despite Berry hugging him and being playful with him, like a monkey he is. Ed laughed joyfully.

For Eddy, it was a mixture of Razor, Champ and Chop (Aerodactyl, Lucario and Pignite) to get by and beat everyone, though there was no one in Eddy's team that got KO'd due to Chop being most dependable.

For Double Dee it wasn't easy, considering Cream was stronger than almost everyone, with the sidearm being Tank or Randall, which the three steadily flowed while Smokey and Phil were the only two who got KO'd. But in the end, it all carried out.

For Kevin, there was nothing much Burgh could do against him, other than hope his Bug Pokemon could phase out Muffet and Bonesaw, but with Bass in place as well as Dr Wave and Shellshock, the same way Ed did, Kevin might had a bit of a problem mimicking Ed's solution, but ended with everyone nearly surviving.

For Mandy, it was a clean sweep with Flare.

For Rolf, it was all hands on deck, but flowed smoothly due to Zelda and Wilfred Jr's Co-partnering, and

For Nazz, it was no problem. Following the footsteps of Eddy mixed with Rolf's, using her Pignite, Charlotte, as a lead, she followed up with Valkyrie and Flower, her Pidgeotto and Butterfree.
