"Hey V…I haven't seen you in a while now. I'm not sure how many calls it's been, you haven't answered any of them. Did I do something wrong?" V wince at Misty tone of sadness, listening to the voice message she left him while carefully stepping over dead bodies of gonks. Looting, placing any valuable items he found into his backpack. V felt overwhelming sadness as he couldn't get the image of Misty out of his head, her teary eyes showing she had been crying. V grabbing a jar from one of the dead gonks making him wonder why they carry a yellow jar of liquid, hoping it wasn't piss as he felt moisture on the outside. Doing his best to focus mentally on what Misty said, repeating her words.

"Okay, that's enough looting for the day!" He threw the jar on a dead gonk mush head, hearing it break as he grab whatever wasn't junk in a pile, calling his car to his location. V turn fast, becoming startle at the presence of Johnny blocking his path. "When is it enough V? You should have left her alone after Jackie funeral." Johnny giving V a serious stare as he took off his sunglasses. "I know what you're thinking V; I respect the reason behind it. What I don't respect is you treating someone you clearly lo-." V raise his hand signaling Johnny to stop from finishing his sentence. "I'm not sure any more of what I'm doing Johnny. I miss seeing Misty." Knowing Johnny is right about what he's doing to her, as he let out a frustrated sigh becoming muffle by the sound of a car engine.

Turning his attention to the sound of his car approaching his location, he open the back seat door. Carefully placing items from the pile in the back seat as he took a moment to see his reflection on the window. Staring at his hands and clothing, covered in blood with chunks of what use to be people. 'Oh shit. I been walking around like this for hours! Misty will think I went cyber psycho.' V now understood why the people behind him tried to kill him. "No way I'm showing up like this…I need to get new clothes. I can't use my car like this either." Johnny watch silently with his arms cross as V pick up his heavy backpack and placing it in the backseat, beginning his journey home.

Miles away, Misty now dreading the idea of using her own tarot cards to find an answer for herself. Her worry left her unsure on what to do with this persistent worry for V safety. Every morning felt like a loop for her when she woke up, calling him daily to get relief. Every day she watch people walk by the front door, hoping that V would finally return to her. She couldn't stomach watching the news when they talk about the deaths in Night City and recalling their last time together, how they ended their conversation without saying goodbye.

'He's okay. V can handle anything in his way.' Trying to give herself a little comfort from remembering what her father told her about V. He was known for his efficiency in what he does. That's the problem for Misty, with him getting into life and death situations. One of their many conversations before he left, she expressed her frustration because he didn't understand why she's protective of him. Watching him get ready to go outside, another day to figure out how to stop the relic from taking over his body.

She could still feel the way he wiped her tears away. She began to get goosebumps throughout her body at the memory, his face getting closer to her own. She didn't mind the idea of what could have happened, V suddenly move away from her and began looking for his Samurai jacket. Misty feet moving on their own. Trying to make it to the front door first, she wasn't fast enough to block his path.

Hearing the sound of the ringing bell of the front door, Misty slowly look up at the person walking inside. "Hey, welcome-." She gave the man a good look. "V." She walk to where he stood, wrapping her arms around him to give him a tight hug. "Don't ever do that to me again! It's been hard to go to sleep, thinking about what might of happened to you." Her voice becoming muffled when he hug her back, her face against his chest. 'He must of showered recently.' Misty couldn't help taking a whiff of his scent, she broke their hug to look at him.

"V…what had you busy that you couldn't return my calls?" He couldn't help breaking his stare from her serious look, the sensation of both her hands now on his face. "Look at me V." When V turn to her, becoming lost in a trance staring at Misty face; the touch from her hands fading as she step away from him, waiting for him to speak. "I'm sorry Misty. That day when I left, I panicked and the way I left…it's hard to explain, I have my reason. Just know I'm sorry." He seem to get quiet as he began staring at something she couldn't see, Misty carefully watching him before he took a deep breath.

She saw something in his eyes change, as he broke the distance between them. V didn't want to continue running away from his own emotions. He put his fears aside along with preparation of the unknown. "Misty. That day when I left. The reason I left in a hurry is because I thought I was making a mistake." She took a step closer to him without thinking, V didn't move. "I been lying to myself for a long time Misty." Her heart began beating similar to that day as she couldn't resist her asking a question.

"What have you been lying about V." Pushing away his hesitation, not letting it get to him about what he could lose at this moment. "That I don't love you Misty." V went to her, as he place his hands on her waist. Using little strength to make any gap between them disappear as he press their bodies together. Misty didn't resist. She let a gasp as V face get closer to her own, she close her eyes for a second until deciding at the last second to leave them open, seeing the moment they lock lips.

That kiss sent an electric sensation throughout V body. Their passionate kiss made them less aware of what is happening around them as V and Misty didn't hear the back door opening. The only indication of someone in the same room, a loud clearing of the throat to announce their presence as both of them stop making out. "I didn't mean to intrude, I forgot my book here. Good to see you're doing okay V." Vik quickly picking up the book and heading to the back door, no time for Misty to explain to her father as the back door close immediately. V turn to see Johnny doing his best not to lose his composure.
