"XZ-Tank Cannon, attack Naririo directly!" Yasuha shouted.

XZ-Tank Cannon's cannons lit up as electricity surged through them before a beam was shot out of them hitting Naririo. Naririo screamed as he was thrown backwards.

Naririo groaned as he sat up. "Are you okay?!" Yasuha ran toward him.

"Get away from me!" He yelled, slapping his hand away.

"Calm down Naririo, it's just a practice duel!"

"Shut it Yasuha!" He growled walking away.

"Naririo!" He shouted, raising his arms in the air he slapped them against the side of his legs.

"Stupid deck…" He mumbled. "Useless cards!" He mumbled passing a darkened alleyway.

A slow tapping appeared from the alleyway, a few seconds later an elderly man wearing a black fedora with a black suit, and tie walked out using a cane. The tapping continued as he walked after Naririo.

Naririo continued mumbling as he sat on a bench. The tapping came closer before it stopped. "May I sit here young man?"

Naririo looked up to find the elderly man standing beside the side of the bench. "I don't care." He looked toward the ground.

The man groaned as he sat next to him. He stayed quiet for a few minutes before speaking. "I overheard what you said about your deck."

Naririo stayed quiet.

"What makes your cards useless?"

"I can't seem to win when that's what someone needs me to do."

"That sounds like you're the useless one, and not your deck."

Naririo straightened up and looked at him. "Thanks for the confidence boost!" He stood up and went to walk away.

"Do you always run away from your problems?"

Naririo stopped, sighing he looked toward the ground. "I think your problem is that you don't know how to stand up to your problems."

"What next? Do you want me to lie on the bench while telling my darkest secrets? Or all the things wrong with my life?"

"See… running away."

Naririo growled and glared at the man. "What do you want, old man?!"

"I think your problem is your thinking too much…" He groaned as he stood up and walked toward him. "You're thinking about saving this friend more then you are about dueling."

"Really? Interesting find." He thought for a few seconds. "What else? Can you find out about my parents? Do I have siblings? What else does your psychologist powers tell you?"

The man chuckled as he walked toward him. "Why are you running away?"

"Why do you keep saying that!?"

"Why do you keep avoiding it!?"

"I'm not… Go home, you old Geezer!"

The man stood in silence, tapping his cane on the ground. "Listen young man…"

Naririo rolled his eyes and turned around. "Look at me… Look at me!" The man repeated louder, causing Naririo to turn around.

"You may have a bad day, week, month, year, etc. but when people try to help you out, it is best for you not to push them away!"

"The next thing you realize, is you're all alone with no one around, and you will regret that!" He pointed his cane toward him.

"For your information, old man… I've been alone all my life!" He shouted. "It feels weird to have friends, I am used to being alone! Now get lost!" He turned around and rested his body on a railing overlooking the ocean.

The old man sighed and stood beside him. "We always go back to what we're used to, because it's easier."

Naririo sighed and looked down. Snorting he shook his head.

"It may be cheesy but it's the truth."

"Not that." He replied. "That…" He pointed at his cane which had two wings attached to an orb which was attached on the top.

"Oh…" The man looked down at it. "My name is Caius; I am the Messenger of the Gods."

"Isn't that… interesting.

"What's interesting is watching Yasuha and yourself going after the runes."

Naririo shook his head in confusion. "You-You know us?"

"You think we would give a rune to somebody and not watch them."

"What do you mean, give?"

"The only reason you have… anybody have those runes is because we allow it."

"But… you're supposed to be dead."

"Do I look dead? I'm the messenger of the Gods, The keeper and watcher of the runes… I live to protect those." He pointed at the amulet. "I choose the holder, not you, not Yasuha, not Mr. Masashi, me!"

Naririo gasped in shock as he finished. "Wha-What… you know about that?"

"Tsushima has a cleansing rune, and…" He held up a finger. "You don't think we would find it a tad suspicious that two teenagers are collecting all of the runes?"

"Since you know about Mr. Masashi, does that mean you know about our situation?"

"Yes, and it's not going to work."

"What do you mean it's not going to work?"

"That's exactly what it means… you honestly think we would give some nobody something that powerful without something to stop them from going power hungry."

"Are you saying there's some kind of failsafe."

"Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying."

"I don't understand, why would Mr. Masashi want the Runes?" He looked away. "Does he not know that?" He looked back at Caius.

"You didn't."

"Should we warn Yasuha?"

"I would, but that is up to you."

"Yasuha needs to know this…" Naririo backed away. "Thank you!" He shouted while running away.

A door hissed open as a guy walked into a room. "Sir… you're going to want to see this!" He stopped at Mr. Masashi who was sitting in a wheelchair.

"What is it?" He asked looking at a screen.

The guard turned the screen away and typed onto a keyboard. "I was watching that!" Mr. Masashi screamed.

"This is more important than watching the feed." He turned the screen back to him.

Mr. Masashi's face turned red. "Ah!" He screamed, throwing the computer off the desk. "Why does that old man keep on interfering!"

"What do you want us to do?"

"Bring those brats over here now!"

"Yes, sir!" He started walking away before speaking into an earpiece.

Mr. Masashi straightened up and pressed a call button on his desk. "Yes, sir?" A lady spoke.

"Get the chopper ready."

"Yes, sir."

"Bring the girl up to my office, we're going to have visitors."

"Yes, sir."
