The potent tremors and loud, monstrous noises caused the gentle Saiyan to snap out of shock. As the wild-haired male lifted his weary head, his quivering orbs locked with the giant ape's crimson eyes. Sweat slid down his charred face while he attempted to rise and flee. A pained grunt escaped from his mouth as the aftereffect of being electrocuted still lingered. However, he bit the lower lip and forced himself on his feet. He coped with the pain and released a mighty shout as he got up. The teen clenched his teeth and glared at the approaching beast, squeezing his fists tightly. He bent his knees before he jumped high in the air to avoid the massive fists.
Broly watched in awe as the ground shattered and the nearby mountains crumbled. He stared at the gigantic ape with awe in his eyes. It was his first time witnessing the true raw power of the Saiyan race in its primal form. However, Broly didn't have the luxury to stand idly by and observe the ape because Raditz was out of control and after him. The kind Saiyan flew out of the way and avoided getting caught, but he didn't count on the ape's speed. Taken by surprise, Broly got smacked by Raditz's tail and sent flying toward the demolished ground.
With his left hand, the Saiyan catapulted himself off the floor high in the sky. "Raditz, stop it! You've got to get control! I don't want to h..." His desperate plea failed as Raditz responded with a thunderous roar.
Broly wore a worried and desperate expression as he dodged Oozaru's attacks. He flew underneath the ape and tried to seize the massive tail, but the beast jumped in the air and tried to stomp him. The Saiyan quickly lifted his arms and blocked the strike. However, the force generated by the Oozaru was incredible and kept pushing the gentle Saiyan toward the ground. Once Broly's boots touched the soil, the floor shattered into a hundred pieces, forming a crater. The wild-haired teen clenched his teeth, preventing himself from being crushed by the ape. He could still feel the pain from being zapped by his father, but he rose above it. With a rugged roar, Broly summoned his strength and overpowered the beast.
While the beast stumbled backward, Broly, clad in a luminous aura, jumped above Raditz. "I'm sorry..." The Saiyan closed his fist and swung it at the ape.
However, Broly never thought the Oozaru could counter from its current position. The Saiyan's eyes widened as the ape opened its mouth and fired a ki blast. Broly quickly brought his hands together and shielded himself. The energy attack carried the teen across the wasteland until he collided with the mountain.
While the ape roared and triumphantly slammed his massive fists against the chest, Broly emerged from the rubble with blood trailing down his tanned torso. The Saiyan got on his feet and observed the wild Oozaru until he saw someone. He stirred his head to the right and saw his father floating in the air, chortling and relishing this.
"F-Father, how could you enjoy this? W-Why do you keep doing bad things? Why do you hate..."
Paragus's maniacal laughter rang across the area, causing turmoil within the soft Saiyan. Broly stared at his father and tried to understand him. Even in this situation, he wanted to find some good in his father, but the true feelings within him broke free through the cracks. Broly bit the flesh inside his mouth to the point of bleeding. While he could taste the iron in his mouth, Broly placed both hands over his head and bent his knees. He tried to keep the memories of Paragus's wrongdoings far away, but he couldn't. The stuff his father did to everyone flashed before him, and the Saiyan couldn't control his genuine emotions. Paragus's cruel words echoed within his mind until he relinquished all control.
Broly's messy hair rose upwards, and his dark pupils flashed and turned yellow. The Saiyan let out a tremendous battle cry that rang across the wasteland. He immediately jumped in the air and flew incredibly fast toward the ape. The force emitting from the Saiyan was so destructive it demolished the ground beneath him.
He closed the enormous distance between them within seconds. The Oozaru took notice of Broly and tried to smack the teen away, but it didn't work this time. With a mighty scream, Broly held onto the massive hand and tossed the giant ape to the ground. The ground beneath the beast broke, and the Oozaru cried out. However, Broly landed on the ape's abdomen, delivering a devastating punch. Blood gushed out of the beast's mouth, but Broly didn't stop. Consumed by rage, the once gentle Saiyan kicked the hands away and lunged forward. He struck the beast in the snout with a powerful knee.
While the Oozaru rolled across the rocky terrain, Broly brought a hand forward and fired a barrage of ki blasts. The energy attacks landed all over the place and caused lots of eruptions. Painful howls emitted from the ape amongst the noise of the explosions, but in the current state of mind, Broly did not care. He stopped firing and released a shout as he stood on top of a cliff. His yellow orbs remained focused on the large hole as he waited for the beast to emerge, but suddenly, he sensed something.
Broly shifted his attention to Paragus, who tried to relocate to another spot and hide. The Saiyan's expression twisted at the sight of his father. Burning rage flowed through his veins and demanded justice. Consumed by it, Broly screamed and dashed at Paragus.
Upon realizing he was Broly's next target, Paragus slammed his fingers against the button on the device. "S-Stay back, you monster! Stay away from me!" The old warrior shrieked as fear and panic consumed him.
To Paragus's delight, the device still worked, and the collar around Broly's throat discharged the electricity. The blue lighting shrouded the Saiyan, who forcefully halted and dropped. While Broly wrestled with the pain and held onto the collar, Paragus laughed as a single drop of cold sweat slid down his wrinkled face.
"You little... You dare attack me after everything I've sacrificed for you? But I knew you would try and kill me. I wasn't crazy to think my freak of a son would dare to end my life!"
Paragus covered his mouth while he glared at Broly, who continued to scream painfully. While staring at his son, Paragus chuckled and kept his index finger firmly pressed against the button on the device. The older warrior seemed lost in a daze and enjoying torturing Broly.
However, Paragus snapped out of the daze once he noticed Broly going silent. The gray-haired Saiyan focused on his son and saw the teen slowly getting up. A scowl appeared on his face upon witnessing Broly's willpower. He pressed the button countless times, but it had no effect. Paragus cursed as Broly got on his feet and menacingly glared at the older Saiyan while consumed by electricity.
"N-No, you shouldn't be able to move! How are you able to withstand it!? Why now when you couldn't before!"
Paragus received no response. Instead, Broly stepped forward and slowly approached the older warrior while electricity coursed through his body. Seeing the ferocious glow in Broly's yellow eyes caused Paragus to freeze with terror. The man stood still on the spot and unconsciously dropped the device.
The sound of the device hitting the ground forced Paragus to snap out of it and step back. "N-No! B-Broly, my son, listen to me and stop whatever you think you're about to do! I gave you life; I got here because of you! You can't kill me!" He screamed out of fear and dread as Broly was mere steps away.
Unexpectedly, Broly halted and turned around. Paragus looked past his son's shoulder and saw the massive ape emerge from the crater. Blood slid down the beast's face as he pulled himself up and roared at Broly. Realizing Broly was distracted by the Oozaru, Paragus smirked and quickly placed both hands forward. The old warrior shouted as he fired a ki blast that struck Broly. Paragus took flight and moved out of danger as the beast attacked his son.
"For a simple-minded beast, he has good timing... Despite overcoming the shock collar, Broly shouldn't last much longer. Be of good use, you low-class trash, and finish your task!"
Meanwhile, the Oozaru failed to bite Broly by a hair. The beast spun swiftly and slammed the massive tail against the Saiyan. Broly held onto it and flew high in the sky. The ape cried while being pulled by the tail but couldn't do anything else since he was out of energy. Suddenly, Broly released the hold but kept soaring higher. Once the man gained enough altitude, he spun and propelled himself at the roaring beast. Scorching flames enveloped Broly, who darted toward the Oozaru, who fired ki blasts out of the mouth. The wild-haired Saiyan avoided all of them and collided with the ape.
The impact generated a powerful noise and shockwave, which destroyed everything in its path. However, Broly pushed forward until they crashed against the ground. Smoke surrounded the area until the Oozaru swung its enormous arm, hoping to hit the Saiyan. As the smoke cleared away, it revealed Broly ducking underneath and kicking the arm upward. The ape coped with the pain and countered it with another fist, but Broly blocked it. Broly's feet sunk deeper into the ground under the massive weight and force, but the Saiyan didn't fall. His yellow orbs flashed with a golden glow as he released a ferocious snarl. He overpowered the beast and lunged at it. He delivered a kick to the head, which forced the Oozaru back.
"Ghrrraaah!"
The Oozaru halted and jumped into the air. While in the air, the beast fired a massive ki blast and destroyed the area. Flames surrounded the area, but Broly stood in the center with his arms up. Once he lowered the arms, he glared at the floating Oozaru and fired a green ki blast out of his mouth. The energy attack consumed the crying beast and continued its trajectory past the Oozaru.
A loud explosion in the sky generated an ear-piercing sound and bright light. Paragus had to drop to the ground and hold on tightly to a rock while the brute force destroyed other mountains and ground. The old Saiyan screamed as he tried his best not to be blown away. Unfortunately for Paragus, the sheer force of it was too much for him, and he got blown away. He slammed against the ground and rolled across it until the wind faded.
Once everything calmed down, Paragus opened his eye and looked up, only to see rocks falling across the sky. "What the... It's pieces of the moon! He destroyed the moon!" The Saiyan got on his feet and cussed out loud as the flaming rocks continued to hurl across Vampa.
Paragus took flight and carefully approached the battlefield. The old warrior looked left and right, but no signs of Broly existed. However, he abruptly halted. Paragus clenched his teeth and squeezed both hands as he saw a body in the crater. His dark orb quivered with anger upon seeing Raditz's battered body lying on the ground and the long-haired Saiyan unconsciously moaning out of pain.
"The wretched son of Bardock still lives. Hmph, the durability of the Oozaru form saved him from perishing from that blast. He might have survived, but the scum won't be alive for much longer..."
The man chuckled while observing Raditz. He couldn't wait for the hungry vermins to sniff out the bloody Saiyan and devour the long-haired warrior. Paragus stirred his eye but still could not find any trace of his son. He descended closer to the ground and looked around, but nothing.
The veteran warrior landed on the demolished land and wondered what had happened to Broly. "Could it be the explosion took him out? Impossible! Broly's too strong to be killed by something like that. Just where the hell is he!? " Paragus desperately looked around, not aware that a massive figure stood behind him.
"F-Father..."
Upon hearing the familiar voice, Paragus immediately dashed forward and distanced himself. Sweat rolled down the man's temple as he stared at Broly, who had a gloomy look in his eyes. "I see; he's back to his normal state. The explosion and the exhaustion must've knocked him back to his usual self..." A slight, devilish smirk surfaced as he observed his offspring.
"Broly, my dear son, look what that low-class scum did to us. First, he mangled me and then, when he gained your trust, tried to do the same to you! He's a wicked Saiyan who played around with you until he grew strong enough to try and kill you!"
Paragus's words caused the disoriented Broly to halt. The confused Saiyan placed a hand over his head as he tried to remember what happened. His dark orbs drifted onto the unconscious Raditz, and while he stared at the heavily wounded warrior, something snapped inside of him. Broly brought his head forward, and his expression darkened. The wild-haired teen held onto his dislocated shoulder while he stepped forward and slowly approached Raditz.
"That's right, Broly. Finish off that sorry excuse for a warrior, as you should have months ago... you poor, naive fool."
While Paragus chuckled and eagerly awaited for Broly to kill Raditz, the wild-haired Saiyan stood before the unconscious warrior. The breeze swayed Broly's hair while he stared at Raditz. He inspected the teen's wounds and let out a displeasing grunt. The Saiyan grounded with his teeth while he dug his nails deep into the skin of his shoulder. While he stood motionless beside the other young male, Raditz slowly opened his left eye.
"B-Br... B-Broly... W-What happ..."
The pain was too much for the low-class warrior. He cried out and coughed blood as he rolled to the side. The man's body ached tremendously. He could feel every open cut burning and the broken bones hurting like hell. The long-haired Saiyan cursed his existence and himself for waking up only to experience so much pain.
Seeing Raditz suffer so much made Broly tremble. The gentle Saiyan turned around and shot a lethal glare in Paragus's direction. "Father is a bad person, and I will never again do what you say! Because of father, Raditz is in terrible pain!" As he strolled toward Paragus, an invisible force vaporized the rocks nearby to ashes.
"I listened to father because I felt sorry for everything, but I realize now that was a mistake! Father never cared for me, just for himself! I'm done with you!"
Paragus got drenched in a cold sweat while watching Broly march toward him. The Saiyan took a step back and suddenly screamed. "Y-You ungrateful fool! Die!" He put a hand forward and shot a blast at his son.
Naturally, Broly continued to walk and kicked it back at Paragus, who immediately jumped to the side. The old warrior quickly got up and fired a barrage of ki blasts at Broly, but the attacks were too weak. Broly walked through the blasts and kicked all of them away so the attacks wouldn't hurt Raditz.
Realizing his attempts were useless against Broly, Paragus pulled out the device he had picked up earlier and pressed the button. "Hah! Now that you're in your normal state and weakened, you won't be able to endure the shock!" The gray-haired warrior chortled while the electricity immobilized his son.
"I hoped for you two to kill each other, or at least for that scum to kill you, but I guess I had too high hopes for a low-class trash! Your little rebellion and playtime with that moron ends now! I'll let him, and you get eaten by the spiders! Even you won't be able to..."
Paragus ceased talking when a strained voice reached his and Broly's ears. The voice came from Raditz, who tried to endure the pain. "D-Don't listen to that bum! Y-You can overcome it, Broly! You're stronger than some measly electricity! End this, once and for all!" Blood oozed down Raditz's lips as he shouted.
Upon hearing Raditz encouraging Broly, Paragus couldn't help but laugh. "Ah! A miserable low-class supporting his deranged friend, how touching! You third-class Saiyans are an embarrassment to our mighty race!" His hysterical laughter rang across the vast land while he firmly held onto the device.
While Paragus laughed at Raditz, Broly forced his eyes to open. The kind Saiyan frowned and glared at his father while being electrocuted. Raditz's words got to him and forced him to surpass this obstacle. Never before did someone encourage him to go forth. Raditz might have been a warrior with a short fuze and attitude, but the fellow Saiyan continued to be by his side. Despite Raditz being much weaker than himself, he learned a lot from him. Much more than he ever did from his father.
"Raghh!"
A cry of determination escaped from Broly's mouth as he got to his knees. Steadily, he raised his hands, which caught Paragus's attention. Broly ignored his father's shouting and pushed himself. Eventually, he took hold of the collar and clenched his teeth. With a mighty roar, the Saiyan shut his eyes and tore the wretched thing from his body. Broly quickly placed his hands forward and prevented himself from hitting the sharp ground. He breathed hard while sweat dripped on the rocky soil. He glanced to the side and saw the silver collar shattered into little pieces. A big smile surfaced on his bruised and bloody face as a wave of relief and freedom washed over him. He felt as if a massive amount of weight had lifted off, and he was as light as a feather.
Broly took a deep breath and finally got up. He immediately gazed at Paragus, who couldn't believe what had ensued. While the older male quivered out of fear, Broly approached his father. As he walked toward the frightened figure, memories of the past flashed before Broly's eyes. All the sorrow, suffering, and pain, yet not a single good memory attached to the gray-haired man before him. Broly closed his fist tightly and emitted a growl of anger and sadness.
Finally, he reached his father and stood before him. He looked into his father's eye, but Paragus swiftly gazed away. Broly just stood there and realized how small of a man his father was. He couldn't believe how frightened and willing he was to do anything for this man. Anger brewed inside of him, yet he couldn't raise a hand to deliver a fatal blow. Broly's face twisted as he was troubled by mixed emotions. Was it because he still had lingering feelings for his father or fear of killing a person? Confused and conflicted, the gentle Saiyan bellowed.
Noticing the conflict inside Broly, Paragus stepped back and lifted a hand in the air. "Fool! You hesitated and allowed me to flee!" An energy orb appeared above his palm. He was ready to fire it at the ground and flee in the commotion. However, a loud noise from above caught everyone's attention.
Everyone gathered, gazed at the yellow sky, and saw something falling from the sky. While Broly wondered what it was, Paragus and Raditz immediately realized it was a familiar object. The two warriors had their mouths open upon staring at the space pod engulfed in flames heading toward the ground. Neither made a single noise until the machine struck the ground.
While the smoke soared into the sky, Paragus was the first to snap out of the shock. A wicked grin surfaced on his face as he had already hatched a plan. The old warrior fired the blast into the ground and disappeared within the smoke while Broly moaned as dust got into his eyes. Meanwhile, Paragus blasted across the sky and flew to where the pod crashed.
Naturally, Raditz realized what Paragus was after. "Broly! The person who landed on Vampa is a Freeza Force soldier! Whoever it is, they can't contact the base; otherwise, we're doomed! You must destroy the scouter and prevent either of them from fleeing Vampa! Go!" The warrior's desperate yell rang across the field while he slammed his fist against the ground.
Despite being confused, Broly realized it was an urgent matter and nodded. Clad in brilliant aura, the gentle Saiyan blasted into the sky and went after his father. He didn't know what was going on, but he trusted Raditz and would do anything to prevent any trouble from coming their way.
