This was the last thing Benjamin 'Ben' Scriver had been expecting. Then again, what was happening was rather extraordinary, so he couldn't really be blamed, right?

Years ago, when Ben had joined his family on a trip to Japan, he'd snuck away to visit a festival that was happening in a nearby forest. While there, he'd met a beautiful and spunky girl named Yori. They'd played a few games together, ate so much food they nearly got sick and all in all had a wonderful time together.

Sadly, their time was cut short when Ben had to return home with his family to finish his education. Most would try and stay in touch, but Yori's village was quite isolated and behind the times in certain manners, like mail and computers. So, they settled for sharing a small bracelet together and Yori sneaking away to see Ben get to the hotel safe and sound.

Now with his education finished, the young man had been backpacking throughout Japan, at least partly to see the lesser known spots his family hadn't gone to, but also maybe relocate where he'd gone to that festival and see Yori again.

"Wow...you look..." Ben blushed slightly. "Tremendous."

Yori chuckled. "Yeah, we got roped into a Sumo Wrestling Tournament."

"….We?"

So, you could imagine Ben's surprise when he not only did just that, but learnt that one of his favorite authors, Sam Williams, had married Yori's prodigal older sister Emiko….and that her entire family were Yokai of Japanese legend.

"….That would help explain the breathtaking beauty." Ben mused, getting a blush out of Yori while Erma and the twins giggled.

Momo and Mitsu then gave Ben a firm look.

"…You're one of them 'otakus'?" Mitsu asked.

"Well…yeah, sort of." Ben replied sheepishly.

"…fan translations; good, bad or mixed?" Momo asked.

"Mixed, but usually bad."

"Okay, he's cool." Mitsu mused, grabbing Ben's hand to shake. Momo did the same and the poor human found himself wobbling when they were done.

"So, this is the famous 'one who got away', eh?" Emiko teased, smiling all the same….and glaring at Rin to wait. Fumiko gave Ben a look over and sighed.

"…Times are changing….And you did help Yori." Was all she said, shooting Emiko a light glare before Kentaro, delighted to have another 'rugged' man among his company, was quick to laugh and take Ben into a hearty hug,

"…Has it really been that long since I shaved?" Ben asked, checking his chin and realizing… "Holy moly, it has."

"Still as cutely forgetful as ever." Yori smiled, which did not go unnoticed by her daughters.

SUMO

"Whoa, that's a lot to take in." Ben chuckled as the Yuriemoto-Williams Family brought him up to speed while having dinner together.

"Yeah, you should have seen how Emiko took down her opponent," Sam said.

"You think that was impressive?" Emiko asked after downing a whole bowl of noodles. "Yori tossed her opponent out of the ring without breaking a sweat."

Yori chuckled. "She may be a tough gal, but I guess having the benefits of a sumo wrestler, a Yureimoto and a mom gave me the boost I needed."

"Mom kicked butt out there!" Mitsu cheered, pumping her fist in the air.

"True that!" Momo added. "I bet she's gonna win this whole thing!"

"Girls, stop." Yori laughed while munching on five whole takoyaki at once. "You're embarrassing me."

"Well, I'll be rooting for ya," Ben said, making Yori blush slightly but smile back at him.

"Do not conclude that you will be the one reigning champion, Yori." Fumiko harrumphed. "After all, the victor could be any of us in the end."

"Says the lady chowing down on several dishes at once to get the energy needed for her big bout." Rin snarked.

Meanwhile, Sam had started up a friendly conversation with Aoi, wanting to get to know more about the fiance of his brother-in-law.

"Kentaro told me he knew a lot of people. Never thought he was engaged." The human husband of Emiko said. "It's a pleasure to meet you in person."

Aoi giggled "A pleasure to meet you as well, Samuel-San."

"We've known each other since we were kids," Kentaro said, slinging an arm around his fat fiance. "First time we met, we snuck away from our folks to paint the whole town!"

"The arrangements between our families worked out very well." Aoi beamed. "Plus, both Kentaro and I have several things in common."

From afar, the Yokai Punk Trio were watching things go down while Mei and Kiko gorged on their own veritable feast.

"So, another human, huh?" Mei smirked. "Seems he's got quite the eye on those two brats' mom..."

Kiko huffed with a roll of her eyes while slapping her belly, making it jiggle. Mei giggled at her partner's sheer lack of shame as she massaged her stuffed gut.

Tohru chuckled. "Seriously, you two look way hotter as fatties. Not that you weren't hot already, but just…DAMN!"

"Oh, you tease~"

"We'll crush the Yuriemotos soon in the next round. That little maid of theirs was just the warm-up." Kiko sneered behind her mask.

"Heh...they've just showed their true fat, pampered selves. Let's show them what you girls can do at their game." Tohru smirked.

SUMO

"Dear, do you sense that?"

"Another human, much like our daughter's husband..."

"Yes...I think I remember him. That fool Yori saw for a time."

"Come now, Osamu. Perhaps he has returned to prove himself. Of course, if he doesn't, we can simply cast him out...or leave him to join the imbecile who got Yori pregnant."

"Oh, Amaya, don't be so cross. After all, the one good thing he did was give us Mitsu and Momo."

"Hmmm...True."

Knightmare Lord A/N:

Yori has reunited with an old flame and he's starting to get along with the rest of the family, but the Yokai Punk Trio plus Osamu and Amaya are coming down on them very soon.

Anything you'd like to say, Mrotrax?

A nice but short chapter before we return to the fights

Sorry for the massive delays! Work and then busting my knee (which flares up) has kept this away for too long!

Keep warm, safe and happy!
