Chapter 14: Capitol Destruction

From the movie Superman was called to stand trial at the Capitol to stand trial.

And of course he did attend with many cheering for him but many yelling angry at him.

Lois stood in the crowd for her love.

Bruce and Avesta watched the live show at Wayne Enterprises where he still receives articles with letters.

Blake and Alfred watched at the garage.

Gordon at the GCPD.

When Superman walks in the Capitol from behind him Avesta's partner Agent Veron Blake was there to keep tabs on Superman.

He taps on his ear to contact Waller.

"Director." Veron said.

"On the line Blake." Waller's voice said.

"Superman is walking into the hearing as we speak. I'm looking at him now." Veron said.

"Excellent." Waller's voice said.

Superman heard him through his hearing.

But he kept focused on why he's here.

"Where's Iman? I thought she would be here." Veron said.

"She's keeping tabs on Wayne for me. I even ordered her to catch someone who stole the data from Luthor." Waller's voice said.

"Alright just let her know I'm here. Agent Blake out." Veron said.

Superman walks in the hearing room and stands before Senator Fich.

Fich gives her statement from the movie.

Superman can tell she and many others weren't happy with him, especially the man in the wheelchair.

But then the major change was…Fich found a Joker card on her desk.

She gasps knowing that the Joker's calling card looks up at Luthor's chair and was empty a day then…

BOOM

Joker's bomb under the wheelchair went off blowing up the Capitol and everyone was in shock.

Especially Avesta knowing her partner was in there…and likely got caught in the explosion.

"Oh my God! Vernon!" Avesta called.

Avesta cried as Bruce read the last message "You let your family die!".

Bruce grew angry.

"He will pay dearly for this." Bruce said.

Bruce meant Superman not Joker.

Joker and Luthor's plan to turn them against each other was now working perfectly.

Bruce comforted Avesta as she grieved for her partner at the Capitol.

Superman tries to evaluate survivors but many lashed at him thinking he caused the explosion.

Lois tries to reach out to him but he flies away before she gets out of the crowd.

But back at the Agency Base, Waller is in a meeting to plan their next move.

"You all know as well as I do…Superman must be captured. The Capitol may have just been the beginning. And tragically one of our agents was in that explosion. Agent Vernon Blake died a hero and we will always carry out his memory in all the days of our lives. So…we must carry on. Superman…well be naturalized and answer to us for his murder of the people in the explosion he caused. Our undercover operative Bruce Wayne will keep looking into Luthor's moves as the Batman…will deliver us Superman. As for the Joker…he waves his every move monitored. He just has to make one slip. That's why we recovered two assets from Gotham. One who leads us to the Joker the other…will crack us through anything." Waller explained.

Waller places two files on the table.

"Dr. Harleen Quinzel. Former Phycologist of Arkham Asylum. According to my source she was assigned to the Joker after his capture in 2008. The public believes she's dead murdered by the Joker but that's what I wanted them to believe. She's in one of our correction facilities. She's our key to the Joker." Waller explained.

"And this one…Selina Kyle. Master jewelry thief and expertise safe cracker. I was tracking her in Florence that's how I discovered Wayne was still alive. We apprehended her in Coast City where she stole priceless artifacts. Now she's in our custody and a valuable asset. She can get us through any tough nut to crack." Walker explained more.

"They and more assets will be quipt to create a force that will protect our nation…if more like Superman out there." Waller said.
