As Harry was walking out of the dungeons he noticed Draco and Pansy not far ahead of him. Slowing down a bit he listened into Draco's conversation with Pansy.

"Do you really think Potter will truly help us?"

"I hope so. My father has been raving about the return of the Dark Lord and me taking the mark. I don't want anything to do with the Death Eaters. I remember my mother telling me about how my Aunt Bellatrix was," here Draco shuddered. "I don't want to do that. Honestly I have no issues with most muggleborns, but Granger rubs me the wrong way and I can't stand her know-it-all attitude. She also believes that everything the magical world holds dear is barbaric. Granger compared to Hopkins in Hufflepuff are like night and day. Hopkins at least is trying to understand the way the magical world works. Granger doesn't seem to care."

"That's true. Hopkins asked Daphne the other day about any traditional rites we have during the year. She told him about the spring and winter rites, but also explained to him why we didn't have classes that day. This was back on June 20. Daphne explained the importance of the summer solstice, and what we do to celebrate the day. Granger had walked by a scoffed about the whole thing stating that it would be better if they didn't cancel classes for something as stupid as the summer solstice." Harry shook his head and knew he was going to have to talk with Hermione about the importance of some of the magical world's holidays. Draco and Pansy turned off heading for their common room while Harry headed to the Griffins tower. Upon arriving Harry noticed Hermione sitting off to the side reading a book, sighing Harry walked over and sat down next to her.

"Hermione can we talk a moment."

"Sure, Harry what's up?" Hermione said sitting her book off to the side.

"Were you raised in a Christian home?"

"Yeah, why?" Hermione asked confused.

"So you know that Christians celebrate certain holidays, but don't celebrate others right?" Hermione nodded. "I overheard some mention how you scoffed at missing school back on Monday, because of a holiday."

"I didn't think it was something to miss classes over."

"Hermione did you have classes on Good Friday before you came here? Or even on the Monday following Easter?"

"Well no. Those are holidays recognized by the government."

"Exactly. The magical government recognizes the two solstices and two equinox as holidays. They also recognize a few others that differ from the non magical world. If you scoff at a magical holiday, but get mad when someone doesn't recognize a non magical holiday,do you think that if fair?"

"No I guess not. But how am I supposed to know about these holidays?"

"Hermione, how many of our housemates grew up in the magical world? How many of them would know about these holidays and be willing to teach you about them. Heck ask any pure blood about them I'm sure someone would be willing to teach you about them. These holidays are special to the people of the magical world. There are traditions that might seem outdated and barbaric to you but make sense to the people of the magical world. An example would be marriage contracts, in the non magical world the practice isn't used anymore, but in the magical world they are still very much active. I know that Draco Malfoy and Pansy Parkinson are subject to a contract. I am sure there are others. Just in the future before going off about something that seems wrong to you, ask someone about it first." Hermione nodded and picked up her book.

"Thank you Harry. I think I'm gonna go ask Lavender about the holidays and traditions of the magical world." Harry stood and accepted a hug from Hermione before watching her leave. Sitting down again Harry looked to the sky.

"Why must it be so difficult to try and fix a mess?" Harry spoke to no one.

"You know someone would think you've gone mad talking to yourself, Potter." Harry turned to see Daphne Greengrass leaning against a pillar on the other side of the room.

"That is fair. Not to seem rude, but how do you know of the griffins tower?" Daphne pushed off the pillar, walked over, and took the seat Hermione had just left.

"My grandmother told me about it. Apparently she found it by accident when she was a student. That was a smart thing you did explaining things to Granger. It was better than what I would have done." Harry shrugged.

"All I had to do was compare it to something she grew up knowing. It's not necessarily the easiest thing, but sometimes it works." Daphne simply nodded before turning to the outer archway.

"I know griffins aren't that large so it makes me wonder why the outer entrance was built that big." Daphne commented to change the subject. Harry just smirked before looking out over the land.

"Rumor has it that Uther expanded the archway for two Dragons to land here instead of in the field or courtyard below." Daphne's head whipped to face Harry with wide eyes.

"But Uther hated magic."

"That's where the stories get confused I think. Everyone believed Uther hated magic, when in truth he hated the Germanian practice of magic. Which unfortunately we use today." Harry said raising his wand to show her what he meant. "Before the use of wands magic was simply an intent based spell that could easily be missed. Merlin's eyes glowed when he used spells. The Lord Potters ring glowed and Lord Gryffindor's hair would blow as if in the wind. Morgana and Morgan both had jeweled necklaces that would glow. So like I said if you didn't know what to look for you would miss it." Daphne sat there speechless while looking at Harry.

"You were taken to the past during the third task. That's the only way you would know that." Harry simply smiled at her. "You know the truth about the time of King Arthur and the pend of the Pendragon line."

"I do, but this isn't the place to share that information. The headmaster does know of this place and could very ell be listening to us right now." Harry stated even though he knew that there were no such charms or enchanted devices in the area. Such was the protective spell work of the room. Harry rose from his seat and walked towards the exit of the tower. "Maybe I will tell you about it sometime in the near future. Also be careful of the headmaster he isn't as he seems."

Daphne simply nodded and with that Harry left the tower heading for the Gryffindor common room.
