Chapter 7 The Curse of Glory
Dekiru is patrolling the city when he gets an alert that a villain is wreaking havoc just three blocks away from his location. He quickly makes his way to the scene and sees a young hero struggling against the villain. Both parties have no time to react as Dekiru quickly deals with the villain. He holds out his hand, channels fire into his finger tips and fires at the villain and starts to blast him with a volley of small marble sized fireballs. The villain catches on fire and begins to panic. Acting quickly, Izuku launches himself at the villain, kicks him in the face
"Are you okay?" Dekiru asked. The answer he gets from the young hero surprises him.
"Hey! That one was mine! I didn't need your help!" The young hero appears to be in his early twenties with unkempt brown hair. He's wearing a white spandex suit with blue gloves, yellow visor, blue boots and a small blue scarf.
"Not from what I saw." Dekiru responds. The whole street is wrecked, even some buildings have been damaged from the fight. "The area is in shambles." Izuku makes his way to the downed villain to apprehend him.
"I'll apprehend him! You go help anyone caught in the crossfire!" The young hero forces Izuku out of the way to apprehend the villain. Dekiru sighs and looks for anyone hurt. He looks at the crowd that watched him take out the villain.
"Dekiru! Over here!" A reporter makes his way to the front of the crowd. "That was great work!"
"I just came in on the tail end of the fight, who's the hero?" One of the heroes in charge of the barricade speaks up.
"That's Air Strike. Sorry about his attitude, he's been having a couple of bad days." He answers. "He's been trying to increase his rank in the hero billboards." That's right, Izuku had all but forgotten about the hero billboards, he doesn't even know what's his rank.
"So, rank and popularity are more important now?" Dekiru asked.
"Yes, it's very important." Air Strike comments. "And with you around I can kiss my advancement good bye." He grumbles as he hands over the villain to the police.
"Is your rank all you care about?" The question makes Air Strike chuckle humorlessly.
"It's right up there with stopping villains and saving lives." Before Izuku can give him a piece of his mind, Air Strike waves him off. "Take your outdated lecture somewhere else; I got a job to do." Air Strike takes off, flying away with his wind quirk.
"Can I get a statement from you Dekiru?" The reporter asked.
"Oh! Sorry, some other time! I have work to do. Stand back." Dekiru blasts himself into the sky, his mind full of questions and worries.
V
Once his patrol is finished, Izuku makes his way to his laptop and begins looking up the hero billboards. To be honest, he doesn't really care about the billboard, its just superficial nonsense to feed a hero's ego, but it doesn't hurt to check. The door opens revealing All Might in his skinny form.
"How was your patrol Midoriya?" Toshinori asked.
"It was okay." Izuku answers.
"Just, okay?" The younger hero nods.
"I came across a young hero who doesn't have the best mindset when it comes to being a hero." Izuku said as he taps away on his laptop. "He seemed to only care about his advancement in the rankings."
"One of those heroes…" All Might has worked with heroes like that before. Heroes who only care about glory and money. "I've worked with heroes like that before, but my problem was different."
"Let me guess, they wanted to say they worked with one of the most powerful heroes in Japan so they can get a boost, right?" All Might nods.
"After a while, I went solo. Barely working with other heroes until I was approach by Sir Nighteye. Turns out he's a super fan." Hearing this makes Izuku chuckle.
"Seriously? I can't imagine it." All Might nods.
"We worked well together… Until my fight with All for One." The fight was a brutal one. He and Gran Torino fought with All for One with Night eye on support. They gave it their all but it wasn't enough, Gran Torino was knocked out of the fight and he had his stomach ripped open. "But enough about that. You were wondering where you stand in the rankings?"
"Yes." He loads up a list of heroes. "Yeah, I'm not sifting through this." Using the search option, he looks himself up.
"According to this, you're ranked one hundred and climbing quickly." All Might comments. "Just last week your rank increased by thirty."
"Okay, but why wasn't I on the bottom?" Izuku asked.
"Your rank is determined by how much cases you solve, villain captures and public appeal. I'm only guessing here, but your status as the legendary hero catapulted you to the top hundreds. If you keep this up, you be in the top fifty when summer rolls around." All Might explains.
"It's so odd that a heroes worth is measured and rated in such a way." Izuku closes his laptop. "I can't say I'm a fan. Won't it just give the wrong idea on what a hero should be?"
"I know, but for every hero like Air Strike there are ten heroes who fight for justice." Hearing that eases Izuku's worries.
"That's good. I just hope he wises up and begins to treat the job seriously." Izuku sighs and turns on the TV.
V
Another day, another patrol for Dekiru. It's a quiet day with barely any villain activate or someone needing rescue. It's days like this he fought for in the past, to see people going about their day, not cowering in fear or offering a tribute to some villain so they don't die. He says his hellos to the people and even takes some pictures with them. All and all, it's a good day.
Suddenly he hears a cry for help in the nearby alleyway. Acting quickly, Izuku quickly makes his way into the alley and is shock at what he sees. It's a hero, beating up someone excessively. The hero is stomping on him over and over again, ignoring the persons pleas for mercy.
"I surrender—" A kick to his ribs interrupts him. "Stop it please!" The hero snarls at the villains whimpering.
"Shut up you piece of trash!" Before the hero can stomp on the villain one more time, Izuku shouts at the hero to stop.
"That's enough! He's surrendered, there's no point in hurting him!" Izuku gets a better look at the hero. He's wearing a black spandex suit with large heavy metal gauntlets and boots. His blood red hair is slicked back and his piercing brown eyes glare hatefully at Izuku.
"It's you." The hero begins, his foot pinning the hero to the ground. "Here to take credit for my hard work?"
"Your hard work!? You're beating that man to a bloody pulp! If he's already surrendered then take him to the police!" Izuku shouts.
"Shut up!" The hero shouts. "Villains need to be put in their place! They need to be reminded that this is what happens when they go against society, when they go against us." He raises his foot again and stomps down even harder. The criminal underneath screams even louder.
"I said enough…" Izuku holds out his hand, creating a fire ball and aiming it at the hero. "I don't know what he did, but it doesn't warrant being beaten in such a way!"
"I agree." The two of them hear the sound of heels clicking on the concreate. Izuku looks behind him and sees the R-rated hero, Midnight. "Heavy Hitter, you know you're on probation for excessive force. This makes strike two. One more strike and you can kiss your license goodbye."
"Fine… Take this piece of trash to prison where he belongs." Heavy hitter walks away, leaving the two heroes and the badly beaten criminal. Izuku quickly makes his way to the fallen villain and begins to inspects the villain's wounds.
"How is he?" Midnight asked.
"It's not life threatening, but I think he has a few broken ribs. He needs to get to the hospital." Izuku quickly makes a call for an ambulance. Minutes later, one arrives, the paramedics load him up and drive off.
"Saburo Junpei." The police officer watched as the ambulance turns the corner. "Small time crook and kleptomaniac." He sighs. "Really bad luck that he ran into Heavy Hitter, can't stand that guy…"
"Is Heavy Hitter's behavior normally like that?" Izuku asked.
"I'm afraid so and it's been getting worse by the day." The officer answers. "No one can't stand that guy. I don't even think he has a single fan. He only became a hero to and I quote 'beat villains up'." Hearing this makes Izuku groan.
"I've had the displeasure of meeting vigilantes like that before. Before hero regulations, vigilantes would roam the streets beating up anyone they perceive as a villain." He recalls.
"How horrible." Midnight comments. "Honestly, I hope he gets another strike so he'll be taken off the streets."
"Be careful what you wish for ma'am, you just might get it." The police officer comments. "Well, I got a report to write up." He looks between the two and smiles. "Enjoy the rest of your day you two." The officer leaves.
"So, are you finished with your solo patrols?" Midnight asked.
"Yes, my patrol is finished." He answers.
"Perfect! Let's go get something to eat!" The two of them walk and make small talk as they walk. "Oh! That place looks nice!" They enter a café and are greeted by a waitress who is shocked to see the two of them.
"O-Oh! Hello and w-welcome." She bows. The two heroes make their way to a table and sit. The waitress hands them a menu. "Someone will be with you shortly." She walks away quickly.
"I figured everyone got over me by now." Izuku comments.
"She must think we're on a date." Midnight snickers. Hearing this makes Izuku groan.
"Great, something for the tabloids." He doesn't need this kind of drama.
"It could be worse, take from me, someone who calls herself the R-rated hero." Midnight said. "Just remember to not let it get to you and you'll be fine." She can't count how many nasty rumors there are about herself. One of the waitresses arrives and hands them the menu.
"Say, is Heavy hitter's attitude normal amongst heroes?" He asked as he reads the menu.
"Normally that kind of behavior is weeded in high school and the licensing exam. Your guess is as good as mine on how that man became a hero." Midnight answers. "If I were a betting woman, I'm going to say that things aren't going to well for him and he's taking it out on villains."
"I guess with me back, everyone is worried about losing there chance to advance their rank." Izuku said.
"You don't need to worry about that. It's their own fault for not doing their best." Midnight comments. "Your reappearance did stoke a fire in many heroes. Many of them are taking on more patrols and doing double the work. They want to live up to the expectations of the Symbol of Heroism." A waitress walks up to the two of them.
"Are you ready to order?" She asked.
"Yes." The two heroes place their orders and hand back the menus. "Heavy Hitter's attitude isn't the only problem, many heroes are glory hounds, they would do anything to increase their rank. The media glorifies the kind of work we do, they make it out like it's the best job in the world."
"I guess what they say is true. Good times creates weak men and weak men create hard times." Izuku quotes. The waitress arrives and places their food down on the table.
"Japan has had it good for a long time. Almost too long." Midnight comments. With All Might's reign slowly coming to an end, villains and criminal will crawl out of whatever dark hole they hide in and cause chaos. Hopefully with Dekiru around they'll think twice about causing chaos.
The two of them eat their dinner as they make small talk, all and all it was a good way to end his day. The two of them pay for their meal and leave the café.
"Well, Dekiru, it's been fun but I've got to go, goodbye!" she waves and winks at the hero.
"See you later." Dekiru and Midnight go there separate ways.
V
Two days have passed since his meeting with Midnight and already the rumor mill has started to spin. Izuku saw a picture that showed him and Midnight leaving the café with a headline about a potential relationship between the two of them. The hero has to admit, the press works fast. Midnight commented on her Chirp account, stating that it was just a friendly dinner between the two of them. That didn't stop some of the more 'eccentric' fan and their 'interesting' ideas about the two of them together.
"Hopefully they all calm down and move on to the next big thing." Izuku comments, ignoring the people's glances (and glares from angry fanboys) as he makes his way down the street. The sun is setting and soon it will be night, a perfect time for villain activity. It's been a slow day for Dekiru with zero villain activity, hopefully it stays that way. With All Might becoming a teacher at UA his time will be split between teaching and hero work, if any villain were smart, they would use this chance to act up.
Jinxing himself, Izuku hears a piercing scream. Acting quickly, Izuku runs swiftly towards the scream, down an alleyway. What sees him shocks the hero. He sees a young man, barely in his twenties with a large amount of blood on him. Izuku quickly makes his way to the man and begins to inspect him, readying his first aid kit to help.
"Where are you bleeding?" The man doesn't answer, instead he's mumbling in hysteria. "Sir, I need you to calm down. Take nice deep breaths, can you do that?"
"Not mine…" The man finally said.
"What?" With a shaky finger, he points to a location. Izuku's eyes follow and is shocked and horrified at what he sees.
It was Heavy Hitter, face down on the ground in a puddle of blood.
"Heavy Hitter!" Izuku makes his way to the downed hero, but it was too late, Heavy Hitter is dead.
"Dekiru!" Izuku looks and sees Kamui Woods. "What happened, I heard a scream!"
"Not sure. I just arrived." Izuku stands up. "Call an ambulance, we got someone in shock and a deceased hero!" Kamui looks at the man covered in blood.
"Did he…?" The wood hero started only to stop himself. There was no way that this person killed Heavy Hitter. The true culprit must be around somewhere. He looks up and sees something bone chilling.
"Kamui! This isn't the time to lose focus!" He looks where Kamui Woods is looking and sees someone standing on the ledge of the building looking down at them. The person quickly retreats. "That could be our perp. Take care of him." Izuku hands him his first aid kit and blast himself to the roof.
"NO, DON'T!" He hears Kamui shout at him to stop but it was too late. The wood hero feels a sense of dread encase his body. "Of all villains, why did it have to be HIM…"
V
Once on the roof, Izuku finally gets a good look at the figure. The man has long tattered scarfs, two red and two tan. He has bandage wrapped around both of his arms, black pants with a pair of scabbards to hold a pair of knifes, spiked combat boots and a dark grey combat vest with scabbards to hold more knives. In his right hand he's holding a long-jagged katana covered in blood. If he recalls, this villain calls himself the hero killer Stain. He has heard of this villain from the Hero Network. This man targets heroes who don't met his rigid and near impossible to achieve standards.
"I need you to drop your weapons and surrender, now!" Izuku demands. The man flicks his sword, making the blood on the weapon splatter on the concrete roof.
"The legendary hero Dekiru, Japan's first pro hero." The man turns around, glaring at Izuku. "Your feats are on par with the only true hero of this nation, All Might."
"Why did you kill Heavy Hitter? He was on probation, one more strike and his career would have been dust." Hearing that name makes the man snarl.
"That man is a fake, he wasn't a true hero! He only became a hero to beat villains up, hardly heroic don't you think. Scum like him needed to be purged from the world!" The man exclaims.
"Weren't you listening! That would have been it for Heavy Hitter! He would have been stripped of his license!" Izuku shouts.
"Only after several incidents that landed him on probation! All fake hero like him must be purged from the world!" He shouts back.
"People need the chance to learn from their mistakes! You can't just run around killing heroes because they don't measure up to your ideals!" A knife flies just by Izuku's face, almost cutting him.
"I know what you're trying to do Dekiru. 'The best kind of hero is someone who can win without throwing a single punch' right?" The murderer quotes. "It's commendable, but don't think that will work on me, my conviction is ironclad!"
"Iron can melt…" Dekiru gets ready to fight. "When exposed to the hottest fires!" The air around the hero begins to warp around him. He holds out both of his arms with his fingers pointed at the villain. "Chain Fire Barrage!" Dekiru fires a rapid-fire volley of small fire balls from his fingers. Stain moves quickly to the side, dodging some of the flaming bullets and deflecting others with his sword. Several burning projectiles hit the hero killer, doing minimal damage. Dekiru's opponent quickly closes the distance and swings his sword at the hero. Dekiru dodges, but Stain continues to swing and slash at hero, hoping to get one good hit.
'His style is unorthodox, he must be self taught.' Izuku begins to analyze his opponent as he's dodging Stains attack. 'From what I heard, Stain like to fight in close quarters and relies on surprise attack.' Not many heroes walked away from Stain unscathed. Many heroes like Heavy Hitter died while others were so traumatized that they retired from heroism. 'Whatever his quirk is, it must involve blades or they work in tandem with it.' He didn't have time to figure it out, Dekiru barely dodged the last attack, he needs distance. The hero thrust an open palm at the villain and blasts him back with a burst of hot air. When Stain re-focuses on Dekiru, he barely has enough time to dodge a disk-shaped fireball.
"Fire discus!" With a swipe of his arm, Dekiru launches another one at Stain, followed by another one. The disks fly towards Stain at a curve. The killer dodges them easily, in fact, the attacks are predicable. Suddenly, the hero killer feels an intense burning pain on his chest. He was hit in the chest by a fire discus, Stain barely had enough time to cut down another discus with his blade. Acting quickly, he throws a knife at Dekiru. The hero dodges just in the nick of time before it could hit him in his abdomen. Using his body's momentum, he spins and channels fire onto his hand and swipes at Stain.
"Fire wave slash!" Dekiru launches a wave of fire at the hero killer. Stain barely had enough time to slide under the attack. He dashes towards the legendary hero with his sword ready to slash at Dekiru. Suddenly, Izuku stomps on the ground, causing a blast of fire to bellow forth. The sudden fire wall causes Stain to hesitate for just a moment.
"Fire Wall!" Izuku rolls to the side, just in time for the hero killer to tumble through the fire. The hero killer hisses, he can't keep fighting forever, all of Dekiru's attacks are wearing him down. The legendary hero is living up to his name. His skills, power and tactical mind make him a worthy opponent and hero. But he can't let his crusade against the fake heroes die, not until only worthy heroes are left. He needed a distraction, and a means to escape. That's when he gets his ticket when another hero arrives and hits him with a blast of air.
"Well look at this." Dekiru looks and sees Air Strike flying in the air. "This is my big break, saving Dekiru and defeating the hero killer will boost my rank up to the single digits." Air Strike said smugly. Wind swirls on his hands. "Eat this!" He brings his hands together and fires a massive blast of wind which sends the hero killer flying off the roof.
"AIR STRIKE!" The hero rolls his eyes at Dekiru's shout. He looks and sees Dekiru. "Watch it with the wind!"
"You'll live." Air Strike comments dismissively.
"I'll live!? If I didn't brace myself I would have been knocked off the roof!" Dekiru shouts.
"Shut up! I have a hero killer to catch!" Air Strike flies off to hunt the hero killer.
"Dekiru!" The hero looks and sees Kamui Woods. "Sorry it took so long, did back up arrive?"
"That depends, does Air Strike qualify as back up?" Dekiru asked rhetorically.
"What!? Air Strike isn't ready for someone like Stain we need to—" They hear a scream. "We need to go now!" The two quickly make their way to the source of the scream and see Air Strike down on the ground with a slash across his back and Stain long gone.
V
Dekiru looks as Heavy Hitter's covered body is taken away by one of the ambulances. The other one takes away a fuming Air Strike, he even shot Dekiru a rather nasty dirty look before he was taken away.
"Well, this is a disaster…" Dekiru comments.
"It is, but I'm glad you're alright." Detective Tsukauchi said. "Sadly, Heavy Hitter was Stain's fourth target, meaning he'll be moving to a different city."
"That's just great…" Izuku sighs. "He'll probably lay low before striking again. How's the guy Heavy hitter was beating up?"
"He's shaken, but he'll survive. He wanted to be a big shot in the villain underground, but he had a run in with Heavy Hitter." Tsukauchi said. "I think he's done with villainy for the rest of his life."
"Seeing someone get gutted will do that to you. How's Air Strike?" Izuku asked.
"He's wounded but he'll recover, can't say that about his pride." The detective said. "I have to say, you did really well against the hero killer."
"I didn't do well; he just didn't have the advantage." Izuku responds. "I would be telling a different story if he cornered me in a alleyway." Tsukauchi nods, sneak attacks and tight quarters are Stains go to when it comes to attacking heroes. "What I want to know is how Stain's been active for so long, I would figure someone in the top ten would take him down by now."
"Stain rarely challenges any of the top heroes. He only attacks heroes who don't meet his strict ideology on what a hero should be." Tsukasuchi explains.
"Smart thinking on his part. If he were to go against All Might himself, he might just surrender on the spot." Izuku comments.
"Wishfully thinking." Tsukasuchi said. "You're free to go Dekiru. Go enjoy the rest of the evening." The hero makes his way home after a long day. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better one.
V
Izuku makes his way to the podium from behind the curtains, standing in front of the press. Today he has to give a press conference about his battle with Stain. Air Strike opened his big mouth and blamed Dekiru for interfering in his fight with the hero killer. The Air hero left out many important details like how he was the one who indirectly helped Stain escape.
"I'm going to go straight in and recall what happened yesterday, questions can wait until afterwards." Izuku begins to recall what happened yesterday. He tells the press about his battle with Stain, and offers his condolences to Heavy Hitter's family. Once he's finished, he opens the floor to questions.
"So, you're saying that because of Air Strike's actions you couldn't apprehend Stain?" A woman with cat ears asked.
"Correct, not only did Air Strike's actions helped Stain make an escape, I was almost flung off the roof." Izuku answers. Another reporter raises his hand.
"Had it not been for the interference, would you have won?"
"I believe I would have won. I got lucky when I approached Stain. The hero killer relies on tight quarters and sneak attacks to do maximum damage. I didn't see his quirk in action, but from the use of bladed weapons I have a feeling that it involves cutting his target." Another reporter raises her hand.
"Do you have any tips for any pros if they encounter Stain." She asked.
"Don't let yourself get cornered, keep Stain at a distance, but watch out for his throwing knives, and lastly, don't engage on his terms. If any hero sees him then they should call for back up." Izuku answers.
"Is the reason why you did so well is because of any experience with bladed villains from your past?" A reporter asked.
"I have encountered villains who use swords or had a blade based quirk in the past." Those encounters were always so difficult and dangerous, he has the scars to prove it. "One last question before I go."
"Do you plan to go after Stain?" A reporter asked.
"I can't just chase after the hero killer without any leads. Our meeting was by chance and he'll likely do everything in his power to avoid me, the burns he received during our fight will take time to heal. It would be foolish for him to go out and attack heroes in his state." Izuku explains. "Thank you for your time, but duty calls." With that said, Izuku leaves the stage. Once off he's greeted by a commission representative.
"Excellent work Dekiru, you were a natural up on stage." He comments, handing him a bottle of water.
"Public speaking isn't my forte." Izuku takes a bottle of water and takes a drink. "So, what's the situation, is the commission taking any actions?"
"First and foremost, Air Strike is on unpaid leave for one month. He should consider himself lucky that he didn't lose his license. Second, we'll be assigning a hero to work on the hero killer case." The agent informs Dekiru.
"Not many heroes can take on a swordsman of Stain's caliber. The hero of your choosing will be debriefed on his capabilities, right?" The agent nods.
"Correct, we'll past on your intel. Well, Dekiru, it's been an honor but I have to go." The commission agent bows and leaves Dekiru. The hero begins to wonder, what would cause Stain to kill heroes who don't live up to his ideology? Did a hero fail him in his time of need? Or did he become sick with the star treatment they receive? For now, Izuku decides that as his duty as a hero he will stop Stain and his rampage.
V
A day has passed and everyone in class 1-A is talking about Dekiru and his fight with the hero killer and the press conference. Katsuki couldn't believe that Dekiru went toe to toe with the hero killer and almost won, had it not been for Air Strike then Stain would be rotting in Tartarus by now.
"Man, it's awesome that Dekiru beat the crap out of Stain!" Ejirou comments.
"Yeah!" Denki shouts. "It sucks what happened with Heavy Hitter though."
"Honestly, I'm glad the guy is off the streets." Jirou huffs. "I still would have preferred that he lose his license over his life." Mina nods, agreeing with her classmate.
"I wonder what made him hate villains so much? I mean, villains are bad, but the people he beats up were barely villains." The pink skinned girl said.
"While I do not condone criminal activity, it is still no excuse for him to brutally beat villains to such a degree!" Iida shouts, chopping his hand. "Many of them did not warrant such excessive force!"
"Regardless, they are villains and broke the law." Yaoyorozu comments. "It is horrible that they were assaulted but actions have consequences."
"Ponytail is right." Katsuki said. "If they were smart, they should have realized that they were in Heavy Hitters turf. Then again, I don't blame them if they didn't know who Heavy Hitter is, I never heard of him before until now." Before they can continue the discussion, Aizawa enters the classroom. All the students quickly sit down at their desks.
"Alright, I reviewed yesterdays battle training. Shinso." The purple haired teen looks towards his teacher. "Don't rely too much on provoking your opponent with insults. They just might skip pleasantries and attack you."
"Yes sir." The teen said.
"Bakugo, try to restrain yourself. You can't let petty insults get under your skin. Cooler head always prevail."
"Yeah…" Bakugo grumbles.
"Now, on to business…" Aizawa pauses. "You need to pick a class president." All of the students take a breath. It's a normal school activity. Iida stands up and presents an idea on how to chose the class president. They would vote and whoever got the most will become class president. Once the voting is finished, the polls showed that Iida and Yaoyorozu with be class president and vice president. Once that was finished, it was time for the first class of the day.
V
When lunch came around, Bakugo and his group along with Iida, Uraraka and Shinso sit down with their lunch. Bakugo is grumbling about how the day started. When he first arrived to school a massive group of reporters block his way inside the school. When one of them recognized him as the kid saved by Dekiru all hell broke loose. They peppered him with endless questions about the legendary hero. Had it not been for Aizawa he would have been late for class.
"Still mad about losing the elections Bakugo?" Kaminari asked.
"I think he's mad that he was almost late for class." Ashido said. "Those reporters became rabid animals when the realized that Bakugo knows Dekiru."
"I still can't believe you all trained under him!" Uraraka said giddily.
"Truly a great honor!" Iida exclaimed. "Tales of his heroism have inspired many great heroes! As a matter of fact, my brother oversaw his review!"
"Your brother is a hero?" Kirishima asked.
"Indeed! He's the turbo hero Ingenium! He has fifty sidekicks under his employ!" Iida proudly announces.
"It's sixty now four eyes." Hearing this surprises Iida.
"Sixty!? I had no idea he employed more." Iida said. Before they can continue to talk, an alarm rings loudly, deafening everyone.
"WARNING! SECURITY BREACH LEVEL THREE!" A switch was flipped when everyone hears the announcement. All of the students begin to panic, trying to evacuate. Katsuki and his friends are trapped in a massive crowd of students, with no chance to escape.
"Who would be dumb enough to break into UA!?" Katsuki shouts over the crowd. "Four eyes! Did you see who broke in!?" With the mass of bodies blocking his way, he can't see out the window. That's when Iida has an idea. He quickly reaches for Uraraka.
"Uraraka! I need you to use your quirk on me!" The girl reaches out with her hand to touch Iida's hand. When they touch, Iida is sent floating. That's when he sees the culprits.
"It's the press!" Iida shouts.
"The press!? How the hell did those losers break down the UA security door! We need to tell these dumbasses that it's just the goddamn press!" Acting quickly, Iida uses his engines to boost himself to the front of the crowd. Once he's in front of everyone he shouts at the crowd.
"Calm down everyone, its just the press!" Iida shouts at the students. "Just look outside the window!" True enough, they looked and saw the press just outside the school. Slowly but surely, everyone calms down and they all calmly leave to evacuate.
V
Nezu sits in his office reviewing the photo of the destroyed gate. According to Power Loader, the security door didn't just rust but was completely broken down at a molecular level, it's as if the door was disintegrated. No weapon in the world is capable of such destructive force so that leaves only quirks. Worse yet, tomorrow class 1-A is having a field trip to the USJ with All Might, Eraserhead and Thirteen as the chaperons.
"Maybe I should call another hero to oversee the field trip…" Nezu picks up a cordless phone and dials a number. It rings three times before the person on the other end picks up the phone.
"Hello?"
"Hello Midoriya, how are you today?" Nezu asked.
"I'm good. Is there something you need principal Nezu?"
"Have you heard what happened today at UA?" Nezu asked.
"Something about the press breaking into UA. Did they really break?" The hero found it hard to believe that the press was capable of breaking the UA barrier.
"No, someone let them in." The mouse answers. "The reason why I'm calling is because something is going to happen. It could be tomorrow or during the sports festival."
"And you want some extra muscle in case something does happen."
"Correct. Are you free tomorrow? I can get you a visitors pass for the day." Nezu said.
"Wouldn't it be better to cancel the trip if you're anticipating an attack?" Izuku wonders.
"I trust my teachers to handle any threat or any accident. Hiring All Might was a risk I was willing to take. I believed that with All Might a part of my staff it would prevent any villain attacks." Nezu explains.
"But instead, it did the opposite." Izuku said. "If they have a single shot at effectively killing All Might it would be when he's protecting the students, when his attention is divided. It's possible that any attack carried out will be done by a group. It's also possible that they have a weapon that can hurt All Might or someone with a quirk that can counter his raw strength."
"All that's missing is when they'll attack." Nezu begins to think. "Well, it was nice talking to you Midoriya, I'll have your visitors pass ready by tomorrow."
"Understood, I'll see you later." Izuku hangs up. Nezu places his phone back on the receiver. He'll have to tell Aizawa, Thirteen and All Might about this.

The next day, class 1-A arrives at the USJ for their first rescue exercise. The students arrive and see the space hero Thirteen. She greets the students and welcomes them inside the building. Once inside, Katsuki, Mina, Denki and Ejirou gasp when they see Dekiru waiting for them. The rest of the class look on in awe, for many, this is the first time seeing the legendary hero. Iida Tenya, is the first to react.
"SIR! MY NAME IS IIDA TENYA!" He shouts, saluting and standing in front of his class. "CLASS REPERSINIVTE OF CLASS 1-AHHHH!" One of Jirou's jacks strikes at Iida.
"Keep it down will you." She groans. "You about made me deaf."
"I'm sorry Jirou." Iida said in a quieter voice and bowing to his classmate.
"Wow…" Uraraka whispers. "It's really him…"
"I would have never thought I would get the chance to meet him…" Yaoyorozu comments.
"Ribbit… He's kind of plain." Tsuyu Asui said.
"Plain or not, it's still cool to see him in person!" Tooru comments excitably. Aizawa speaks up, hearing enough from the class.
"Okay, that's enough. Thirteen, where's All Might?" The teacher asked.
"He couldn't make it today, something came up." Thirteen said while holding three fingers. Aizawa sighs, annoyed at All Might. At least they have Dekiru here, even if he's just here as a visitor.
"Right, onto today's subject. My quirk, black hole, can be used to remove debris, or end a persons life." Thirteen said. "All quirks can be used to save but remember they can be used to hurt others. That's why you're here today, to learn how to use your quirks to save people." Thirteen looks over to Izuku, signaling him to say something.
"I'm just here to give out pointers." Izuku smiles. "When it comes to rescue, some people are better suited for the task. Some quirks specialize in recon while others are excellent at clearing rubble. Even combat quirks are helpful during rescues, especially if there are active villains in the area."
"Okay, now that the speeches are done. Let's head down and—" Suddenly, the lights flicker. Then at the center of the USJ Plaza a purple portal appears. The sight of the portal makes Izuku break out in a sweat, it reminded him of Banisher.
"Dekiru! Focus, we have villains!" Hearing this snaps Izuku back into reality.
"What's the plan Eraserhead?" Dekiru gets himself ready.
"I'll hold them off, get the students out of here!" Hearing this concerns Dekiru.
"Will you be okay on your own?" Eraserhead slides on his goggles.
"Once they're safe, join me in the fray." The hero jumps down towards the villains. Izuku turns towards the students.
"Okay everyone! We need to get you out of here now!"
"But—" Kirishima starts.
"No buts! We need to go now!" Dekiru orders.
"I will not allow you to leave." A voice bellows. A swirling mass of mist forms in front of the group of students. "We are the League of Villains. We have come here to kill All Might…" The villain looks over the crowd. "I do not see—" Suddenly, the villain is assaulted by fire from Izuku. "GAHHH!" The villain screams as Dekiru sets him on fire.
"Everyone!" All of the students look at Dekiru. "I'll hold him off, go!"
"But sir we can't just leave you here, that's—" Iida began.
"This isn't up for debate!" The hero shouts. "I am ordering all of you to go, now!" Before the students can make a break for the door, the villain bellows loudly.
"Enough!" He encases several students and Dekiru in a purple sphere. "Be scattered and die!" When the marble disappears, half of the class including Dekiru is gone. "As I was saying, we are the League of Villains, we are here to kill All Might." Thirteen looks over to Iida.
"Iida, you're the fastest one here. I need you to go get help, we won't last without back up." Iida, understanding the situation nods.
"Understood sensei…" Iida takes a runner's position and dashes towards the door.
"I won't—" The mist villain begins to be pulled into thirteen's quirk. The space hero is a great rescue hero, using her quirk to remove and clear debris. However, the space hero has a fatal flaw. She not a normal combative hero, meaning she can be easily be defeated with his quirk.
The mist villain opens a portal behind the space hero which rips her back apart. The hero screams in pain and falls over.
"Thirteen!" Uraraka cries.
"Keep going Iida! Don't stop!" Sato shouts. Iida feels disgusted at himself. He's running while his classmates are fighting for their lives. Iida finally reaches the doors and begins to push with all of his might. After a long struggle, the heavy doors finally open and he was free.
"I'll come back with help!" Iida shouts and pushes his quirk to the limit and runs with all of his might.

Minutes before Iida made his escape, Ojiro Mashirao finds himself in standing inside the inferno zone surrounded group of twenty villains. He didn't expect he would get the chance to actually fight villains today. The villains laughed and cackled at the thought of killing a would be hero, some were disappointed that it was just one.
"Man! I was hoping for someone special, not some normal looking brat!" The lead villain groans. "Oh well… I'll just have to settle for cutting off your tail. It will make a great trophy." Hearing this makes Ojiro grit his teeth.
"Have villains become so pathetic that they have to attack children to make themselves feel better?" Ojiro recognizes that voice, before he could look back Dekiru stops him. "Eyes front and center, keep your stance up and don't look away from the enemy."
"Yes sir!" Ojiro shouts. Dekiru stands right next to the young teenager.
"Hey! H-He should have known what would happen if he decided to be a hero!" One of the villains' shouts. "This is just a preemptive strike!"
"He just started high school last week. Most hero students don't really get to see action until the middle of their first year or the end of it."
"Who cares! UA has had it good for too long! It's time to take them down a peg! Now DIEEAHHHH!" With a swipe of Izuku's hand, a wall of fire consumes the villain. The other villains barely dodged in time.
"You bastard! What's wrong with you!"
"I don't have time to listen to you anymore, the lives of children and my fellow heroes are at stake. Ojiro! I'll fight these villains, stay close, we don't know if there are any more inside the inferno zone."
"But sir! They have us outnumbered!"
"But not… Outmatched!" Dekiru smirks. The tailed teen watches in awe as the hero controls the surround fire to create a surging wave of fire. Try as they might, the villains were hopelessly outmatched.
"Amazing…" Ojiro is in awe of Dekiru's power. Everywhere the fire touched was under his control. The villains try to avoid the fire, but it would just follow them.
"DIE YOU BRAT!" A villain screamed at the tailed boy. On instinct, the teen's tail lashes out and strikes the villain and sends him flying.
"Focus Ojiro, don't let yourself be distracted. Deal with any stragglers that escape my attacks!"
"Yes sir!" One of the villains' snarls. Had they known that Dekiru was going to be here then they wouldn't have activated the inferno zone. At the time it seemed like a good idea, use the heat and fire of the inferno zone to wear down the students and kill them. Instead, they only get one student and the legendary hero himself.
"Crap! Don't let—AHHHHH!" Another villain is set on fire.
"Stop, drop and roll!"
Where!? Everything is on FIRE!" The fire attacks weren't only hurting them physically, but psychologically as well. Realizing that his group is dwindling fast, the leader decides to rally his group.
"Listen up! The leader shouts. "It's just two of them! Two! Are you going to let them make a mockery of us! We've been tied down by the heroes for too long! We didn't win their stupid superpower lottery and because of that we couldn't succeed. Let's make them pay! Who's with—GAHHHHH!" The villain making the speech is set on fire. One by one, all of the villains are defeated, some losing the will to fight after being set on fire. The last villain standing looked at them terrified.
"Look man, I just did this to scare the kids into dropping out! I didn't want to kill anyone!" He pleads to the hero. Just as Ojiro is about to relax, the villain springs into action, armed with a knife about to throw it at Ojiro. "Fooled YAHHHHHH!" He's quickly set on fire and blasted back.
"Let's move!" Dekiru orders. The teen followed the legendary hero out of the inferno zone.
"What if they follow us sir?" Ojiro asked.
"Many of the villain don't have the will or strength to fight anymore. But just to be sure…" Izuku grips the door handles and heats up the metal door. "I know it's underhanded, but they came here to kill you. Now, we need to get you and your classmates out of here." He begins to think. "First, we need to get to the closest zone. I believe that's the avalanche zone."
"What about Mr. Aizawa?"
"He can handle himself; he is a pro hero after all, we'll just have to be quick. Let's go!" Dekiru and Ojiro run towards the avalanche zone. Once they arrived, they see the area frozen and Shoto interrogating one of the villains. The hero student turns around and relaxes at the sight of Dekiru.
"Dekiru and Ojiro, what are you doing here?" He asked.
"We were sent to the inferno zone and fought our way out." The tailed teen answers. Hearing this confuses the son of Endeavor.
"Why would they send you to the inferno zone? Wouldn't make more sense to send him to the flood or downpour zone?" Shoto wonders.
"The mist villain likely teleported us at random. He probably couldn't think straight with being on fire." The hero answers. "Enough talking, next zone is the flood zone, let's go!" The three of them rush towards the flood zone and see the ship in the middle of the man made lake sinking. On the boat is Mineta, Shinso and Asui. Acting quickly, Shoto uses his ice half to freeze the lake, trapping the villains in ice.
"You're clear, come on over!" Dekiru shouts. The three students quickly make their way over to the ground.
"Th-Thanks for saving us…" Asui said.
"Are you okay Asui?" Dekiru asked, concerned.
"Because of my quirk I'm cold blooded. Any longer on the ice and I would have entered hibernation." She answers. Dekiru holds out one of his hands towards Tsuyu and creates a large fire over the palm of his hand. "Thanks…" Asui begins to warm up.
"Thanks for saving us. I just feel so useless." Shinso grumbles. Izuku shakes his head, he won't be hearing any of this.
"No one expected you to fight today. You were suppose to learn how to rescue citizens. Now, let's get you all out of here before the villains break out of the ice." They begin to make their way around the lake.
"Are we getting out of here Dekiru!?" Mineta asked.
"I'm getting you all to the entrance and then going back out to find the other students. If you come with me, then we'll be spotted." Dekiru answers.
"But you'll be alone." Tsuyu points out.
"I can handle it, you all—" They all look out and see a hulking mass of flesh pinning Aizawa to the ground. "Change of plans, you all run, I'll save your teacher." Dekiru marches towards the center plaza.
"But—" Ojiro is stopped by Todoroki.
"We need to go; we'll just get in his way." Todoroki said. "He knows what he's doing."
"Todoroki's right." Mineta said. "He's a freaking legend." They watched as Dekiru marches towards the villain leader.

Tomura Shigaraki smiles as the Nomu grinds Eraserhead in the ground. Even without All Might here, killing Eraserhead and Thirteen will be good enough for him. The Nomu was created to kill the symbol of peace, there's no way that an underground hero would ever stand up to his All Might killer.
"Holy shit, it's him!" Tomura hears one of his henchmen shouts. Tomura looks and sees the legendary hero Dekiru. Seeing the hero makes Tomura smile widen. The one who laid the foundation for the world he hates is standing before him.
"Dekiru…" Tomura said, voice full of venom and hate. "I wanted to kill All Might today, but you'll do." The hero says nothing, only glaring at the nomu. "Do you like my Nomu. Its tailor made to kill All Might. It has a shock absorption quirk that will protect it from physical attacks!"
"Really?" Dekiru eyes the beast. Something about it just seems wrong. "But can it protect you?"
"Wha—" Dekiru fires a volley of small fireballs at Shigaraki. Acting on its programming, the Nomu stands in front of the villain, protecting him. While laying down suppressing fire, he makes his way to Eraserhead. He's forced to stop and picks up the hero. Once in his arms, he uses his quirk to create a tall ring of fire around him, blocking the villains from entering.
"Stop him!" One of the villains' shouts. A few brave villains try to enter the ring of fire but it's too fierce.
"You idiot! Just jump over it!"
"It's too high to do that!"
"Then go through the fire!"
"This isn't some movie! I'll get burnt to a crisp!" The ring of fire prevents them from advancing for fear of being burned. They hear a noise above them and look up, the villains see Dekiru escape by using his quirk to fly.
"He can fly!?" They watch helplessly as Dekiru flies up the stairs.
"Of course, he can fly! What rock have you been living under!" Seeing all of the villains scramble in confusion is irritating Shigaraki.
'Useless fodder…' The villain growls. 'I should just kill them all here and now…'
"Tomura Shigaraki. I have returned." Behind Tomura appears Kurogiri. The villain smiles, at least Kurogiri will have some good news.
"Ah, Kurogiri, you've returned. Is Thirteen dead?" He asked.
"No, and unfortunately one of the students escaped." Tomura's anger reaches his boiling point. The villain starts to claw at his neck.
"Damn it! If you weren't our escape, I would have turned you to dust!" His demeanor changes, calming down. "Oh well… If we're quick enough then maybe we can kill Dekiru. Do something about the fire Kurogiri." Using his quirk, Kurogiri opens a warp gate to the flood zone. The water comes rushing in and extinguishes the fire and soaking the ground. Shigaraki looks at the Nomu and sees that he's healed. "Nomu! Make your way up the stairs and—" Suddenly, the doors to the USJ are blown open.
"WHO DARES TO HARM MY STUDENTS!" A loud voice shouts. "THOSE WHO DID THIS WILL PAY DEARLY!" The behemoth of a hero rips his tie off. "FOR I AM HERE!" It's the first time Dekiru has seen All Might like this.
He's not smiling.
A/N I am so sorry that I've been gone for so long. I've been busy with life and work. But don't worry, cause it's pedal to the metal!
